Reviews for Windmill Inn of Roseburg

Review 1:The walls were thin. Dogs barking all night long.People stomping above us. No sleep what so ever!

Review 2:The staff was nice. The place was clean. Liked having Microwave/fridge in room.

Review 3:Traveling to a funeral. Arrived early---staff let me check in before normal times, so I could rest and change clothes. Very very much appreciated this. Also, the convienence of Elmers next door to get a quick meal. Secure area for a single female.

Review 4:Nice staff who gave me advic on where to exercise my dog and where to eat, and a comfortable room. It just seemed like they'd thought through everything from the traveler's perspective. This one beats the chains all hollow.

Review 5:Skip Elmer's across the way, that food was horrific. Breakfast was standard fare. Walls are paper thin so we were kept awake by a crying baby.

Review 6:Room was clean. Heater worked well but it's noisy. Lots of hot water for showers.

Review 7:The only problem I had was my plastic entry card not working properly all the time.

Review 8:Cleanliness of hotel and room was excellent. Right off I-5 Freeway so I had easy access going and coming. Coffee was very good.

Review 9:We were beside the ice machine which was a little noisy

Review 10:There was Elmers next door An area to sit outside and relax in the sun Friendly staff Nice large room

Review 11:We arrived on the day that this community suffered a terrible tragedy. We saw the heartache and sadness and yet we were welcomed by employeeswho carried on in spite of their overwhelming grief. We will continue topray for your community. May God bless you and bring you peace.

Review 12:I asked for a quiet room, and I got a quiet room. Room was clean and freshened nicely each day. Easy access to I-5. All staff encountered were friendly.

Review 13:The room air-freshener was so overpowering that it made our eyes tear up and it irritated our throats. Had to keep the window opened to let out the "smell" and then we heard loud truck and car noises all night long. Sometimes it sounded like an airplane landing just outside our window. Got no sleep.

Review 14:It was located just off the 1-5 Freeway. Handy, we thought.

Review 15:they said i could bring my pet onto patio, not pool deck, was why i came here, but , then when here, could not take my dog to patio, only could take out to parking lot and dry ugly field,,,then i asked to pay in cash when checking out, they took my cash and my monies off of credit card, still waiting to get that returned,

Review 16:the pool and hot tub,,,tv in room

Review 17:The building felt rather institutional despite the attempts to liven it up with better-than-average hotel art. While not unacceptable, a reasonable bit of noise from the hallway could be heard in the room, perhaps more due to the people staying there than lack of soundproofing.

Review 18:Room was comfortable and appointed with the expected amenities.

Review 19:Having to move hotels for our second night stay. Originally asked for a non pet room. Was asked if we wouldn't mind staying in a different room. They did not mention it was a pet room. The room was very clean. It just started to affect my wife overnight. A dog in the room across the hall, was barking every time it heard a person walking by. It appeared the owners left the dog in the room by itself for a number of hours.

Review 20:The employee working the breakfast area was vey nice and helpful

Review 21:We requested a ground floor king. They booked us into a second floor room. We are handycapped and can't do stairs. Mgmt.. Put us in a ground floor two queen room that worked for our short stay. Same price..

Review 22:The location close to the freeway. A good base for touring the area

Review 23:The floor plan is hard to figure out, but interesting just the same

Review 24:The pool was really nice and the free breakfast was very good with a large area to sit and visit liked it a lot

Review 25:The only thing wrong was that the jets on the hot tub weren't working but we could still soak so that was okay with me.

Review 26:The staff were all above and beyond friendly and know the area. The room and hallways are spacious and clean. Love the lobby "market". Pool and hot tub were clean. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 27:It is conveniently located near airport and freeway, yet quiet. Friendly staff welcomed me and equally friendly person said farewell. Excellent wifi and cable television. Great value, especially after Portland prices.

Review 28:Our room was very nice size, not fancy, but clean and had a refrigerator and microwave that we used. The staff was also friendly and enjoyed working with each other.

Review 29:Our 2nd floor room AC was not working properly but the staff were very responsive and let us change to a room with better AC.

Review 30:Friendly staff who were very responsive and understanding and let us move to a room with better AC as ours was not working properly on a hot day. Comfortable bed and nice patio/pool area.

Review 31:Very close to the freeway, which was quite loud. Couldn't figure out how to keep the room cool and couldn't keep window open due to traffic noise.

Review 32:Pet friendly, clean, good sized room.

Review 33:Asked for a quiet room as I was staying 5 nights. The room I was given was too close to the freeway & very noisey!!

Review 34:Great Location for my needs. Clean & a good breakfast. Ground floor room.

Review 35:Noise from other rooms (especially floors above); no elevator for older travelers; location.

Review 36:Easy to find; automatic doors at front desk; provided extra linen; inner courtyard rooms were away from freeway noise.

Review 37:I liked the fact that there was a "smoker's covered shed" Considering the smoker's and non- smoker's both. I, as a women, think it would be a good idea to have a light in the smokers shed, for safety reason's.

Review 38:Easy to get to and very pet-friendly. We also like that it is right by Elmer's Restaurant which is very convenient. Breakfast is simple but ample.

Review 39:For all the rave reviews, we were not expecting to walk into a hotel that hasn't been updated in years. The place smells like the carpets haven't been cleaned in a decade and the decor matches. Our "King" sized bed was closer to a queen and there were no free outlets to speak of around the room for electronic devices to charge, etc. Next time I'll save the $20 a night at stay at the Super 8 down the street that is at least modern.

Review 40:Staff was prompt and friendly.

Review 41:I liked everything about the Windmill Inn. It was just what I was looking for in medium priced lodging.

Review 42:The property smelled the way a hotel should smell when the people who take care of it know their stuff. The beds were magnificent, and the view was excellent.

Review 43:There would have been a charge for the single bottle of water if we had used it. The previous place we stayed in Washington had two bottles of water in the room and they were complimentary.

Review 44:Very clean, staff was very nice and willing to help in any way possible, easy access from highway and back on, large room was surprising, and we had a very restful night.

Review 45:the pool was closed and the weather was beautiful and the breakfast wasn't very good. we went next door and paid for a breakfast after we went for the buffet.

Review 46:It was a good place to stay for the price.

Review 47:While I was checking in, the couple next to me asked for a room and were offered first or second floor. I was not offered this option. Because I don't have gray hair? It's red because it's dyed. I am 60, my husband is 68 and we were traveling with a small child. So, mightn't a first floor room be good for us? Wasn't sure if this was lousy customer service or discrimination or an oversight.

Review 48:Clean, comfortable room. friendly staff.

Review 49:I brought my own pillow which I usually do when I travel. Found dead bedbug on pillowcase when I got back home unpacking. Still trying to get rid of them. Am covered with bites!!!

Review 50:The shower needs the rounded out bars to keep the curtain from sticking to you. Walls are thin so you do hear the neighbors at times. The room above us did have a water leak that woke us at 6:30 a.m.; however they did reduce our bill $30.00. Would be nice to offer better breakfast choices (i.e. scrambled eggs, meat choice, potatoes).

Review 51:Room was clean. Like that we had a fridge and microwave. Large Bathroom so easy for dressing. Easy on and off Highway and was central to family we were visiting.

Review 52:I am not a huge complainer, but I booked this room, because of the good reviews. It is an older, but nice, hotel with an apartment type feel. What was wrong well: to start it was the worlds most uncomfortable bed, sheets were like sandpaper, there was hair hanging from the showerhead when we got there, weird smudges on the shower walls (something red), mold in the shower, dirt and dust along the top lip of the shower tile. I know I am tall, but I should not see dirt and dust in a hotel. Having had back surgery in the past I know comfortable beds, I am picky about it, but this was in serious need of an update.

Review 53:Location was great, right off the freeway, easy to get around the city. The staff was super friendly and very helpful and that is about where the good things to say stopped.

Review 54:was a good value for the money. The staff seemed to appreciate my business. I mentioned that I had driven straight through after working all night and hadn't slept . they immediately handed me keys and made my room available so I could take a nap before my dad arrived. I never expected that and it was great to start my vacation better rested!

Review 55:The AC came on&off too frequently and the air blow was a bit noisy.

Review 56:Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Convenient to I-5. Chek-in and out were fast.

Review 57:Everything was clean and the staff were polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the gal who staffed breakfast was a warm, friendly face to brighten your day...The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

Review 58:The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming! A great comfy stay, even though our trip was short. The decor in the rooms could be updated a little, to match the lobby and hallways, but other than that, a great place to stay.

Review 59:Our coffee supplies were not replenished after our room was cleaned, nor was the toilet paper or ice bucket liner emptied. Very Hard Pillows

Review 60:From the time that I called the front desk to confirm my reservations, that I made with Booking.com, I was impressed with this hotel. They were very friendly and helpful in confirming the reservation I had made, and reassured me that I got the best price. The rooms were very clean and freshly decorated. The bed was very soft and comfortable, unfortunately the pillows were very hard and made it hard to sleep. The outside courtyard with pool is inviting and cute, it was great to sit outside and have a great complimentary breakfast. I recommend the blueberry waffles.

Review 61:Room was located next to ice/vending machine. Noisy in evening and early morning. Thought the king room would of had balcony for the price.

Review 62:Location easy access from freeway

Review 63:The smell in the room was horrible. My family called it the Bates motel. It is an old hotel and you can definitely tell. I would never stay there again.

Review 64:For as old as it is the room appeared clean but the smell took over everything.

Review 65:Next freeway very noisy

Review 66:very comfortable wife was sick needed rest nice and quiet good food within walking distance

Review 70:The room was very comfortable and felt like a proper hotel.

Review 71:No good restaurants in the area.

Review 72:The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 73:Holding my credit card after i paid cash

Review 74:The hot tub

Review 75:Hotel is right out of the 70's. Over priced for what it is.

Review 76:Very clean facility. Very friendly staff.

Review 77:No Elevator and I have bad knee. It was a long distant from car to room carrying Luggage.

Review 78:Lobby, pool, Juccuzi, patio area.

Review 79:Disappointed with fitness center as it did not have any weight machines.

Review 80:comfortable bed good choice at breakfast

Review 81:Allow dog to have poop on the hall way. Terrible smell

Review 82:Stay was to short

Review 83:Everything

Review 84:The girl at the front desk was soooooooooo rude from check-in to later time. Breakfast was just less than simple.

Review 85:Property itself was great.

Review 86:good location, clean, quiet, friendly staff.

Review 93:the beds were uncomfortable

Review 94:all staff there was really friendly

Review 95:No elevator to second floor rooms

Review 96:Convenient location Trails to walk near Umpqua River

Review 97:Bed and the pillows were very comfortable!
