Reviews for Shoreline Island Resort - Exclusively Adult
Review 1:Lack of fire instructions in the room.
Review 2:Great location, right on the beach and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and bars. Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation with views of the sea. The exclusively adult element was a bonus.
Review 3:Start every morning out with a fresh cup of coffee with a Danish or Power Bar while walking along the beach or lounging around the pool area watching the sun come up. Then watch the spectacular sun sets in the evening. Many area attractions and things to do.
Review 4:I absolutely loved my stay here the new building is so nice and the views are spectacular, pool is very clean and the wTer temperature was perfect. I enjoyed the fact that it was adults only. We will definitely be coming back here and will recommend this place to friends and family of ours. The Lutz' December 2015
Review 5:Probably the noise from the traffic
Review 6:The rooms were spacious, clean and very nice. The Courtyard was beautiful. Plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the beach while you eat breakfast. I liked everything. The only draw back was the loudness of the traffic yet if you were on the beach it wasn't a problem.
Review 7:HOTEL IS RIGHT ON THE MAIN ROAD AND THER IS SOME TRAFFIC NOISE...WE WANTED TO SLEEP WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN. NO SCREEN ON THE PATIO DOOR AND OPENING THE WINDOW ON THE ROAD SIDE DROWNED OUT THE SOUND OF THE OCEAN. HOWEVER, I WOULD STAY AGAIN, NICE RESORT AND GREAT PEOPLE
Review 8:GREAT LOCATION ON THE BEACH
Review 9:First time staying here. Will definitely be going back. Very happy with location and spectacular view. Staff was over the top friendly. Would love to have 1 unit they allowed pets. We were comfortable and it was perfect for us as we are hardly in our room. Would also recommend a little larger table on the balcony for eating. Maybe smaller eating table in actual room. But it was a nice unit.
Review 10:Not a big deal, but coffee is not provided in the room (just wish I'd known). They do have coffee in the lobby.
Review 11:Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, comfortable rooms, with full kitchen including kitchenware, gulf front pool. Most of the rooms are gulf front with private balconies. Lovely beach.
Review 12:Lovely quiet place to relax and have fun. Loved the dolphin watching in the morning drinking my coffee and eating a granola bar (usually around 7:30-8:45am).
Review 13:I expected the room to be more up to date. While it was adequate, I thought our room was in the newer building. We were disappointed about that. I don't think the room I selected was the room we got. At least it didn't show it that way in the brochure. The shoreline was recommended by a friend who stays there often, but he said the newer building was better. The room was ok but I wouldn't want to stay in that building during another stay.
Review 14:The location was great for attractions, restaurants and shopping. The beach was great!
Review 15:Bed was a little uncomfortable, but not so much that we couldn't sleep.
Review 16:The room was well-equipped with a kitchenette and everything you need to cook some meals (saves a ton of money!) The staff were super friendly, and helpful in getting us all the information we needed. The location was wonderful, even if we were across the street in the "motel" side, it was easy enough to walk across to the access. Beach and was beautiful!
Review 17:The only thing I was not impressed with was the breakfast. It was yogurt, breakfast bars and fruit but for the price it was well worth it. There was a full kitchen so we could cook something or store breakfast items safely.
Review 18:I loved the location, the staff, the room and the view. The room was good size for 2 people and the beds were very comfortable. I had no problem with noise level.
Review 19:I didn''t plan to do much cooking, but the kitchen was not well equipped at all.
Review 20:beautiful beach, comfortable room, balcony overlooking the beach, free parking
Review 21:Annex across the street, I'm handicapped and they put us on the second floor of a building that was not but three or four rooms used. Dangerous street to cross just to get ice....Not accommodating at all.
Review 22:Pool was okay, lady at the desk was nice.
Review 23:I would say the only not so nice thing would be the bed and the pillows not too comfortable everything else was great, cleanliness the staff location
Review 24:the staff was extremely helpful and friendly knowledgeable
Review 25:I love how quiet and relaxing this place was, the location was right on the beach in a perfect spot. It was great for a weekend get away for me and my husband.
Review 26:Had a leak in the A/C unit that caused a wet spot on the carpet. Kept stepping in it with my socks on - grrr. Despite informing the Front Desk about it, we had a towel covering the area the entire 8 days we were there. Small things.
Review 27:One of the only All Adult resorts in the area meant it was a quieter option than most and also it was more comfortable using the pool without a billion little kids running around, screaming and being kids.
Review 28:Room 206 has a palm tree that blocks a lot of the view
Review 29:Being on the ocean. Gorgeous pool and despite it being summer, we had a lot of rain that really cooled the pool down. They turned the heat back on so it was more comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained and clean. Lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas all in great shape and plentiful. Love the outdoor heated showers to rinse sand and salt off. The room was newly remodeled and extremely comfortable. I didn't notice a lot of noise from other units. I like the fact that no one under 21 not allowed to stay on the premises and there is a nice mix of young couples up to elderly couples. It's quiet and relaxing.
Review 30:Weather could have been better Mother Nature can't be avoided but everything else was great We will return !!
Review 31:Right on the beach, nice pool and courtyard in back , ocean view, everything that was needed in the room for comfort. Like a small apartment.
Review 32:There is nothing negative to say.
Review 33:We really enjoyed everything abt Shoreline. Our room was quite roomy with full kitchen. We had great view; right on Beach & over looking the pool. Place was very clean.
Review 34:We should have been told our rooms view of the beach was totally obstructed by another building. We could see a sliver of the beach but mostly just the side of building 5. Some hot options for the breakfast would have been great. As for price we fold out from friends they got a much better price for a double condo just 1 minute down the beach.
Review 35:The beach. The WiFi was solid. Pool was great. No kids was a treat but the older folks sometimes made us feel like kids, yay.
Review 36:Parking is very tight. I didn't even park under the building in fear of hitting someone or someone hitting my car.
Review 37:We loved our room and the view from our balcony was superb.
Review 38:Elevator was an eye sore. Contractor apparently did not finish the interior walls. Glass in elevator was dirty. Seemed out of place with the rest of the hotel.
Review 39:I enjoyed visiting the nearby Botanical Gardens, Beautiful. Beautiful ocean view. Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 40:We booked a king with kitchenette and were extremely disappointed to find our room across the street from beach despite booking for the 4th of July weekend 3 months in advance. Pool area and private beach were very clean and both staff & customers were pleasent. Not within walking to St Pete strip. Overall good stay.
Review 41:Hardly anything. Just nit picky. There's a coffee machine in the room. It would have been nice to have some coffee to make.
Review 42:The room we had was in the newer building and it far exceeded our expectations. Having an oceanfront view with a balcony was wonderful.
Review 43:Would have been nice if they allowed a late checkout especially for people that have spent 8 days there.
Review 44:Location - beach - friendly people reasonable
Review 45:I don't usually do reviews, but this place is an exception. We were pleasantly surprised how clean the room was and how nice the furnishings were. The bed was comfortable and the real plus was the two recliner rockers. So nice and comfy. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 46:This is simple....ready...nothing!!!!!
Review 47:I looked for something to be wrong because how could everything be so right....drew a blank!!!! ok...maybe start you off with a roll of paper toweling. Thats it from someone looking.
Review 48:Parking is tight, but what do you expect at the beach!
Review 49:the staff were all so polite and friendly. You don't see that much anymore. Even the customers were all pleasant. It was a great place to relax and unwind.
Review 50:You really cannot get a better location. What made this place truly wonderful was the very patient and attentive staff. My only recommendation is that if you want a little more privacy while staying in an gulf view room, book a higher floor.
Review 51:Not near any nightlife, and adults only here means 50+ age group it seemed. Pool was small.
Review 52:Rooms were decent - clean, nothing special. Location is right on the beach. Quiet. Affordable.
Review 53:Would not grant late checkout even though it was a Monday morning . They gave us the only beach front room with palm trees in way obstructing view
Review 54:proximity to beach, new building / room
Review 55:Any person with mobility issues could have a problem navigating the grounds multi-level concrete in common areas has been poorly patched and seems very dangerous. Some areas have been torn out and replaced with pavers which were nicely done. it appears that the property is in the process of being updated.
Review 56:It was exactly what I expected and the view was wonderful.
Review 57:We could not see the sunset from our balcony. We stayed in the new building which has a great view of the pool, Gulf and beach you aren't able to see the sunset. This building sets back further than the other two taller buildings on either side of it and they block the sunset view. I recommend staying in the northern most building for the best sunset views from your balcony.
Review 58:I loved that the Gulf and beach was just a short walk from the hotel. The room was great. I really liked the shower and the bed was very comfy.
Review 59:Next time we will buy beach chairs at the beginning of the week, so they will be easier available.
Review 60:We have such busy lives at home, that this is what we needed. Nothing relaxation.
Review 61:Not alot of amenities. Would have liked a book in the room describing the area and what restaurants, etc. were best.
Review 62:The location is fabulous! The beach is absolutely beautiful and peaceful.
Review 63:Very clean, great view, nice balcony, all adult, quiet for most part, non smoking property except some stupid people insisted on smoking their cigars right outside of the pool area on the beach. One night we couldn't enjoy the balcony because the smell of the smoke. If you are a smoker, why not stay at a hotel that allows smokers????!!! I know the people who own the hotel can't control this but it is very rude.
Review 64:Being placed across the road at an entirely different address location and by justifying this placement by calling this address the 'Annex'. Also the breakfast was poor. Don't call packaged granola bars a free breakfast.
Review 65:The beach and the pool area were ok.
Review 66:The couch was very uncomfortable and even though the floor was washed it was still filthy. The bedroom was very moldy smelling and I was coughing by the end of the week
Review 67:The pool was great. The staff was nice.
Review 68:Nothing bad about it at all.
Review 69:The room was exrememly clean and modern. Beautiful beach view. Kitchen had all plates, pots, pans, etc... so we could just eat in the few times we wanted to. Plenty of hot water for the shower. The bed was very comfortable and so were the lazyboy recliners. Really liked everything about it!
Review 70:Would have liked having a hot buffet breakfast, but knew in advance a continental breakfast was all that was offered so it wasn't a deal breaker.
Review 71:An adult resort with no children or pets running around was wonderful. A complete kitchen in each unit is nice. Balcony faced the beach and it even had chairs and a table! Front desk staff were more than pleasant and helpful.
Review 72:The oven in our room burnt all our food on the bottom and didn't cook the top of our food.
Review 73:It was perfect. We had an amazing view of the ocean. Everybody was very friendly. And loved the fact that there where no kids running around everywhere. Will definitely be coming back and telling all friends and family to stay here!
Review 74:My only criticism is the room was in need of updating, poor fitting windows and bathroom and kitchen needed attention - would definitely go again though.
Review 75:Loved the location we had a sea view which was amazing and the room was very clean.
Review 76:My wife and I were very pleasentlly surpriced by the entirer setting just beautifull. We are in the process of planning another visit to your location.
Review 77:Wish there was a lazy river instead of shuffleboard.
Review 78:We were in the new building & room was great! Staff was very friendly. I forgot my bathing suits when we left, which were hanging on the back of the bathroom door, called & they are mailing them to me. I was thrilled!
Review 79:Not a deal breaker but didn't realize it was non smoking on property. Meant going to sidewalk or beach. Not the biggest deal, we made the best of it.
Review 80:Stayed in the newest addition to the hotel which was very nice. Everything was very clean, location to Johns pass was perfect, short ride down the road. Kitchen was very nice and stocked with utensils, coffee maker, pots and pans etc. Winn Dixie is a couple of blocks north. Beach was excellent, not too crowded but was certainly friendly. Would stay again in heart beat.
Review 81:Lanetta the desk warden, needs to work as a correctional officer. She doesn't need to be in the hospitality industry.
Review 82:After my husband and I arrived at the hotel to check in, and a 10 minute dissertation about the non-smoking policy and I wasn't positive what credit card, I wanted to use for the rest of the balance. Vanetta, desk clerk demanded payment immediately! I have never been treated this way.I told her keep it on the card. I paid $350, for a gulf view and got to stair at doors and other hotel rooms. No recovery at that point.
Review 83:was real close to so many places to go at all times of the day. We stayed across the street in own of the apartments and I was kinda nervous about not staying in the main building on the beach side. But it was wonderful and really not hard to get to the main lands and building. Everything was clean. They give you towels to the beach. Laura the girl working the desk was so helpful when it came to pointing us in the right direction for food and fun.
Review 84:The toilet was so small that it was difficult to even use! My husband and I could not sit on it without also touching the vanity and we are not fat people. The bed was hard as a rock. The hotel was across the beach and we had to cross a 4 lane road to get ice or breakfast and there were no crosswalks near by.
Review 85:Beautiful pool area
Review 86:no maid service on Sunday price no chairs on beach, except those to rent tiny vanity in bathroom ran out of bed blankets on a cold night very small continental breakfast pop machine service charge no palm trees
Review 87:cleanliness of room beautifully clean beach stocked kitchen heated pool
Review 88:The title "Resort" is a little misleading. It is an upscale motel with a great location. There is no restaurant, bar, room service, concierge, planned activities, etc.
Review 89:Location, location, location
Review 90:I had to sleep on the sofa bed which was lumpy and very uncomfortable. It was difficult to open as well. Our kitchen needed mixing bowls. Otherwise the kitchen was fine. Having access to a broom or dust mop would have kept our floor cleaner
Review 91:The pool was outstanding, the view awesome. I liked being able to park the car out of the sun. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bedroom and baths were excellent.
Review 92:First 2 nights we spent in an older room which flared my allergies. Told management and they moved us to the new building. Beds are rock hard and my ribs hurt in the morning
Review 93:The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Everything was very clean. Pool was pristine. Steps from the beach and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Had a problem with the room and they not only moved us, but took care of the problem in the room so others would not get sick. A lot of other places would have just left it for the next person.
Review 94:Had to walk out to the sidewalk by the street or across the street to the beach in order to smoke. Booked room online and it was not clear the room wasn't in the beachside property and we weren't able to change the room at check in due to booking through booking.com.
Review 95:The room was very large and immaculately clean. Very quite location perfect for relaxing.
Review 96:Couch was terrible, pull-out portion was unuseable. Floors were never cleaned even after complaining to front desk on day of arrival (stayed 7 days)
Review 97:Location, free WiFi, balcony privacy, kitchen was only adequate, covered parking
Review 98:We were first booked into their motel property across the street. Our fault for not reading fine print, but this faded location with depressing views caused us to call Booking.com to upgrade, at a cost of $95 per night. We were then put in new building, which was much better. Overall decor is not great, but service is very friendly and the beach beckons. Quite costly for what it is, but adults only means it is quiet, with sedate and welcoming pool and great views of the beach.
Review 99:Beachfront location is great.
Review 100:We reported two problems. The bathroom window would not completely close. It was not fixed. The porch railing was loose. Maintenance installed an angle bracket instead of replacing a missing screw in the bottom of the railing.
Review 101:The pool and beach areas.
Review 102:Staying only 2 nights. Even the rainy day was enjoyable with sitting on the balcony reading and enjoying the many restaurants and John's Pass.
Review 103:My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Shoreline Island Resort. From our beautiful room, to the breathtaking view, to the very positive, helpful staff, to the top - notch facilities, it was a perfect experience. Next time (and there will be a "next time") we will stay longer.
Review 104:restaurant on property would have been a real bonus.
Review 105:Pool was warm and clean Friendly staff and guests, comfortable bed and room. We cannot say enough nice things about this resort. will stay again if going to Florida.
Review 106:Your staff is great! Wonderful establishment, will definetly be back! Very well maintained! Can't say enough good things! We even had guests visit that took your hotel info. Because they loved it also! One suggestion! Several times while staying in the apt, we were asked were the office was! Maybe a sign out front! Anyway thanks for making our holiday great!
Review 107:The bed was getting a bit creaky but I noticed they were in the process of updating things which is always a good sign.
Review 108:Small, quiet hotel and a very friendly and helpful staff. The beach was lovely and clean. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Heated pool a plus!
Review 109:The only small complaint I had was the pillows weren't very comfortable I am used to a foam pillow, otherwise it was wonderful
Review 110:I loved the view and the staff
Review 111:Had maid service, but not every day (no holidays or on Sunday ) which is fine, but we were not informed.
Review 112:Very convenient location, staff was very nice, and the resort was nice and quiet.
Review 113:Furnishings were worn. Utensils and dishes not up to par, some utensils had to be washed before first use. Building construction during our stay was disruptive and annoying.
Review 114:Staff was informed and helpful. Pool area was inviting and comfortable. Convenient access to the beach. Excellent views. Close to shopping
Review 115:There was construction going on when we were there.
Review 116:The best place we have stayed for the price. Right on the beach what more could you ask.Very clean. Staff was very friendly. Everyone was so nice. Can't wait to go back.
Review 117:The micro wave was on the small side and the TV was small in sitting from the recliners or the beds.
Review 118:The Staff, especially the front desk were most5 excellent at all times.
Review 119:They were under construction while we were there and were not informed of this at time of booking.
Review 120:Loved that the portion of beach this resort sits on was not crowded at all for a weekend. . In fact there were hardly anyone on the beach which was a nice change from the beaches we have frequented in the past.
Review 121:Only small complaint is that the sliding glass door was difficult to open (again age has something to do with this). My own apartment door is like this and they say it cannot be fixed, so I guess it should not be considered a complaint at all.
Review 122:Being in the main building (close to breakfast, beach, etc.) In my 80's it is important to not have to walk very far at one time. Fourth floor excellent for beach viewing. Comfortable rocker-recliners a real plus.
Review 123:Need something on breakfast layout that doesn't have a lot sugar for diabetics.
Review 124:The quite and layed back atmosphere and no children ,not that we don't like children.but not this trip.
Review 125:Location was great, the beach wasn't crowded at all unlike other parts of the area. That made our stay even more relaxing. Housekeeping was great and friendly. Helped us with ideas of restaurants, attractions and grocery stores. We can't wait for our next trip back!!!!
Review 126:The noise of the construction was annoying when trying to enjoy the patio. It also minimized parking so I had to park across the street.
Review 127:The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly.
Review 128:Not being allowed to smoke on a balcony is ridiculous! There's a door that completely seals to keep smoke from entering the room. Just a little much.
Review 129:Great value for the money. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet there.
Review 130:We stayed for two nights and did not clean the room or changed linens or gave us new towels
Review 131:Location was ideal, white sand and beach two steps away. Walking distance to a couple of bars and 7eleven store
Review 132:I did not like the fly screens on the balcony they are unnecessary and spoiled the view. Makes one feel like a caged animal. No hot breakfast option.
Review 133:Wonderful location. Hands on staff. Good accommodation. No screaming kids jumping around. Relaxing adult place to stay. Fitted out apartment kitchen with a full inventory.
Review 134:Room needed updating.
Review 135:Great location on the beach.
Review 136:No hot tub
Review 137:Easy beach access
