Reviews for Tetherow
Review 1:Nothing, nodda. Everything was great!
Review 2:The staff at Tetherow were great and very accommodating. They helped us navigate our way to various locations during some incoming storms and their hospitality was amazing. The rooms were very clean and even our dog got a little care package that she absolutely loved. Look forward to coming back in the summer!
Review 3:Only thing we didn't like was the very firm couch in the living room. Not comfortable to sit on and relax....!!!
Review 4:The rooms were very very nice and everything was well constructed. Very comfortable beds and lots of storage. We enjoyed the balcony and the view of the mountains. Definitely will return for another stay. Hotel staff always friendly and helpful.....!!!
Review 5:Entire staff is very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. They are very accommodating for everything from helping with luggage, shuttling downtown or to the ski hill, clearing windshields of snow, and orientating guests to the area.
Review 6:course was closed but that's the time of year, so we had the place to ourselves!
Review 7:beautiful and spacious room, great staff both at the hotel and the restaurants and golf shop.
Review 8:Great access to mountain bike trail network. Beautiful rooms. Staff was incredibly helpful. Amenities were lovely. We didn't dine here except for room service breakfast, which was ok but served in takeout mode with no seasons, etc, so would recommend eating breakfast in the restaurant.
Review 9:excellent staff, beautiful accommodations, wonderful restaurant options with excellent staff, beautiful scenery from room, cleanliness of entire complex, courteous and caring staff from top to bottom , wonderful food and beautiful golf course, close proximity to Bend
Review 10:Ridiculous room service is served in brown paper bags. Toast and breakfast from cardboard boxes, with plastic utensils? Not good for a luxury-striving property, no matter how eco-friendly. Also need a pool/spa area.
Review 11:Lovely suite-like room, beautiful setting and views.
Review 12:It feels a little isolated, which is great for quietude and beautiful stars at night, but it would have been nice to have a small "store" for guests to buy takeaway drinks and snacks.
Review 13:The construction and design are extremely high quality and luxurious. The staff is highly professional.
Review 14:The resort apparently is being built in stages; I did not realize there were no workout facilities, pools, hot tubs, etc., things I typically find at four or five star hotels. (They do offer shuttles and complimentary passes to a health club in town--but that was not appealing.) Our room was below grade (like a garden apartment) so the "mountain views" were really of car tires in the parking lot and people walking by.
Review 15:Spacious rooms, good showers, fast wireless internet, easy to find, seems like a great golf course.
Review 16:What I didn't like was having to leave.
Review 17:Very new facility but they got EVERYTHING right. View was phenomenal, room was immaculate and fully appointed, hooking up our DVD player was a cinch with their convenient access panel. I could go on and on
Review 18:It was pricey, we are a young couple on our honeymoon, and we wanted to splurge but, some prices for things were just a little to much.
Review 19:It was literally 8 minutes to everything we wanted to do. Everything we put a location into the map it calculated 8 minutes!!! The staff with incredibly friendly and helped with anything and everything.
Review 20:It rained so we had to quit after playing 9 holes. I'm not a great golfer and I thought I would be intimidated by having a caddy but he was great and helped me out. I had a good 9 hole round.
Review 21:The room was so comfortable and roomy. Great beds, coffee and decor. Quiet - even though a big event was happening at the restaurant. First class. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 22:The only thing I would change is the service on their restaurants- pretty slow.
Review 23:I loved almost everything about this place! The surroundings, the hotel room, etc. I would rate it as excellent!
Review 24:Breakfast at the restaurant on site was slow. The food was good but slow in coming and the wait staff not attentive. I hate having to ask for a coffee refill at breakfast, especially with very few diners present.
Review 25:The rooms were beautifully decorated with great mountain views We faced West so had a beautiful sunset to view each day. The check-in went smoothly with helpful staff.
Review 26:Construction Traffic / Road Noise; No onsite workout facility / pool for the price paid.
Review 27:Chayne was a huge help in getting us settled in and giving us great tips on things to do, places to eat etc. Very personable, friendly.
Review 28:GPS was incorrect on booking.com. it took us 30 minutes of driving up and down Bend streets before we put in the golf course address and found the place.
Review 29:wonderful service, personnel, views, room. outstanding comfort and restaurant was a 10.
Review 30:Not a thing.
Review 31:From the reception staff, to the bell staff, to theservice staff, to the dining, and, most importantly, to the accommodations, Tetherow earned absolutely top marks.
Review 32:Information booklet said newspapers could be obtained at the registration building. Not true. There is one daily paper which can be read there, but not removed. At this price point a paper should be provided at the door.
Review 33:The room was beautiful, spotless, and very well appointed.
Review 34:No room service yet. The bed was a little hard and not as comfortable as I would have liked. The temperature was often a little too cold in the room but once we had the gas fire going, it became too hot. Getting a balance and using the thermostat was hard. Many of the light switches didn't work and the refrigerator did not have a freezer, which was a bummer. The control burns in the forest nearby were probably not under the hotel's control, but that was disappointing, making the air cloudy and hazy. Walls were a little thin. Room faced the parking lot-south facing room. Having to get a glass of wine to go from the bar and not having room service available was uncomfortable.
Review 35:We loved the views of the golf course and the setting was wonderful in the wild lands. We loved breakfast and all the food was the tastiest food. The room was so elegantly updated and modern and the design was practical and decorative. The staff was very helpful and respectful with reservations, accommodating to my requests to pay early, and with correcting an incorrect charge pleasantly. I also appreciated the staff respecting my service dog and my needs for the staff to ignore it. The entry way had stone tile which was a cool surface that the dog appreciated, considering the room had carpet. The dog gifts were very nice: grog and a dental bone. The dog bed was also a nice extra. The fenced porch on our room was nice too. We were very grateful the staff listened to our requests and placed us in the quietest building called the Cascades building and it was pretty quiet overall. Loved the gas fireplace. Community patio fireplace was nice near the golf course and we loved playing corn hole game on the patio.
Review 36:No bad experience, but if I owned the course I would remove the dead branches and lay about. It takes away from the beauty of the course.
Review 37:Everything was perfect. Clean, quiet, excellent food, secenery,
Review 38:There are 2 restaurants on the property however they do not offer toomservice, thos is my only complaint!
Review 39:After a 7 hour drive from Wa, walking into Tetherow was awesome. We weregreeted at the door to the lobby by the staff and were checked into ourroom quickly. The staff was super helpful and went out of there waygiving us directions to our next days destination.
Review 40:Lamp light bulb by sofa burnt out. We couldn't get the recessed lighting to come on. We didn't realize until dark & no o e to call and report??
Review 41:Accommodations were top of the line!! Beautiful floor plan, lots of windows with awesome view of the golf course!! Bed was so comfortable & loved the pillows!! Top of the line bathrooms with dual shower heads & a great soaking tub!! Outdoor seating area to sit and enjoy the view too!!
Review 42:No pool, jacuzzi and the restaurants were not really incorporated into the room stay. Basically it was an awesome stay but it was like you were a guest at a golf club not really a hotel inclusive stay.
Review 43:Fireplace, modern, quiet
Review 44:OnlOnly downfall was the lack of fitnes center onsite, However Due To The Above PAR STANDARDS IN Every Other DEPARTNENT We Will Not Only Return But Plan Out Company Retreat here.
Review 45:Enormous amounts of detail I could go on and on...down to the riedel wine glasses in the room. Staff was top notch,on every level.
Review 46:No swimming pool or hot tub, The building wasn't full and they put me in a room facing the parking lot... I would have rather been facing the Golf Course.
Review 47:Quiet and very clean and comfortable
Review 48:Excellent rooms. Spacious with notable quality in craftsmanship and design. Bedding was luxurious. Staff was helpful and made every effort to answer our questions. Shuttle available for in town activities which is helpful if you don't have a DD and you visit the pubs in town. Taxis are scarce.
Review 49:The people who support the resort are incredible! The convenience of the property was important to me. The modern and easy-going feeling of the property! The resturants were spectacular!
Review 50:Would like a washer / dryrer close by Also utensels at coffe bar, knife, fork and spoon
Review 51:The quiet solitude, view, location quality of room overall
Review 52:We stayed in a double queen room with a balcony. The room was very well appointed and exceptionally comfortable. The view from the room was expansive - we looked out over the golf course and could see Mt Jefferson. The hotel staff went the extra mile by sending up a bottle of wine and some chocolates with a personal handwritten note when they learned we were celebrating my husband's 50th. The on-site restaurants are excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Review 53:Bring your own coffee. What's provided is described as "a bold dark roast" but is not even close. Reminiscent of Folger's. Light and very acidic.
Review 54:The smallest details are carefully and almost perfectly thought out. Everything from the stemware to the soaps is of the best quality. This was our second visit, and won't be our last.
Review 55:The staff was so friendly and warm when we arrived... The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was amazingly comfortable! I will definitely return here and recommend to anyone.
Review 56:Timeliness of the service at the row was pretty poor, they were getting slammed but only had 1 server working.
Review 57:Hospitality of the Noah the driver was first class. He gave us his personal number to reach while we were in town if we needed a lift anywhere, anytime.
Review 58:Wasn't much as far as a snack bar or vending machine. Nor did they have room service..you can go pick up your food at the onsite restaurant but why can't they simply have an employee deliver it for you? One tiny change that could go a long way with guests!!
Review 59:Blown away at the value for your money!!
Review 60:we were not told they were having a family breakfast with Santa. We were not able to have breakfast which was on our list to do.
Review 61:location & room was fantastic
Review 62:Missing pool/hot tub. Still to be constructed. Would be perfect on these freezing evenings.
Review 63:Everything new and high quality. Good restaurants on site. Perfect location on border of National forest but close to city.
Review 64:Would have liked at least a few items in the mini fridge, especially since there are no vending machines available. Maybe a soda, candy bar, something like that for a quick snack.
Review 65:Amazing friendly staff. Efficient, knowledgable, helpful. Clean, very quiet room. Loved the fireplace in our room.
Review 66:They have no fitness center. And no business center. That was a big letdown. The food at the resturant wasnt great. But the prices were good.
Review 67:The staff was AMAZING. They even brushed anow off my car in the morning without us asking.
Review 68:I gave the bed a "good" rating because I had trouble sleeping in it. Not because the bed was uncomfortable but because I have a temperpedic at home, and therefore nothing compares to it. However, my husband slept like a rock at Thetherow.
Review 69:Our room was a deluxe king, it had a beautiful view of the golf course, and was big and spacey. We got early check-in and the staff was friendly and professional. The hotel was conviniently located on the way to Mt Bachelor, which is where we had planned all our activities. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience at Thetherow, we would come back again in s heartbeat!!
Review 70:Beautiful location and scenery, great food and service, and ideallylocated between bend and Mt Bachelor ski resort. What's not to like?
Review 71:Could hear noise from guest in other room- soundproofing could be improved
Review 72:Beautiful room and facilities Friendly staff Excellent location and view Excellent value
Review 73:We could hear the guests in the next room muted talking and snoring. Suspect headboards back to back in the rooms. We couldn't get the main overhead light to work. The couch was not made for long time lounging and reading.
Review 74:We enjoyed the attention to quality and cleanliness. The Luxurious soft towels were so nice. The view of the mountains and scenery was inviting. The fireplace and the use of local businesses to provide a welcome home experience was very enjoyable.
Review 75:Lunch @ casual restaurant The Row not up to same standards as Grill.
Review 76:Outstanding amenities in room; Grill manager MIchael extremely helpful; meals at Grill excellent.
Review 77:I truly can't think of anything we didn't like.
Review 78:We loved everything about this resort. From the staff to the room.... The onsite bar and grill and the location. Friendly staff. I would recommend this to anyone!
Review 79:As of yet there is no pool or hot tub facilities but I did read in a brochure that it's in the works.
Review 80:Modern, New, with beautiful view of the golf course. I don't golf, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. 2 restaurants on the property. Had the place to ourselves in the month of December. Not far from anything you want to do in the area.
Review 81:This place was so relaxing - better than any day spa. Loved the super hot shower, the plush robe, and the fireplace in our room. Convenient to town and Mt.Bachelor.
Review 82:The doors slammed loudly due to strong winds. Thankfully, they were not terribly full, when we stayed. Also, the hot water was a bit unhot and weak.
Review 83:The room was spacious, open and well appointed. We liked the sofa and fire place area and our view was even ok. Very pet friendly with nice walking trails around the hotel and a short 2-5 min. drive to Deschutes River hikes. The beds were divinely comfy and the coffee was great.
Review 84:No onsite exercise facilities or hot tub/pool.
Review 85:I stayed here for 1 night in October, 2014. The staff was friendly, the room was luxurious, and the views were spectacular. The beds are so comfortable.
Review 86:With the bar set so high by every other aspect of this wonderful place, the morning coffee and creamer selection needs attention. Nasty acidic coffee and chemical-laced International Delight faux creamers don't cut it!
Review 87:Everything but the coffee was top-tier in quality. Attention to detail unprecedented in our travels.
Review 88:1. Accommodations are inviting, classy and provide all one's creature comforts!! 2. Location - hop, skip & jump to all the places we dined, visited and hiked 3. Staff - warm, friendly and genuine 4. Scenery - at first, we were skeptical about staying at a lodge with a golf course.. so glad we did as the views are absolutely lovely
Review 89:We have stayed at many hotels, and it is not often our expectations are exceeded, but they were! The decor, cleanliness and surprise touches we're amazing. The food had wonderful presentation, reasonably priced & delicious! Highly recommended!
Review 90:The only issue we had was one night of poor wait service by a waiter at "The Row" He was more interested in hanging out in the kitchen and talking with other staff than waiting on us. Small issue overall.
Review 91:The hotel and staff were great. The area is excellent near all activities and shops. Staff and services offered by hotel were awesome and easy to use.
Review 92:The sofa is a little uncomfortable. The side table next to the sofa by the window, not much room to walked around. At night you couldn't see the side table and I almost bump into it.
Review 93:We love the view of the golf course. Even though we don't play golf. It's fun to watched people played golf. The room is so comfortable. Love the fireplace. Everything is perfect for our 35th Anniversary.
Review 94:Could have used a good map of the on grounds walking trails. Had to keep asking people how to get back to the main facility.
Review 95:Setting and quality of facilities. On site dining especially nice to have.
Review 96:Beds were way too soft, which really bothered my back.
Review 97:Location very close to downtown Bend and mountain biking trails. Great views from room. Room was very clean and luxurious, with every comfort and convenience you could want.
Review 98:We both thought that the catering could be improved. No English (or even Oregon) breakfast tea at breakfast, and some of the dinner Entrees could be simplified to good effect.
Review 99:I work in Eugene and Portland, and had my brother visiting from the UK. We both loved and were suitably impressed with Tetherow, thanks. John
Review 100:We don't typically spend this much for a vacation so the hefty price tag of the room was a little tough to swallow. But if you are used to the luxury of a place like this, you probably won't notice. I wish there had been a soaking tub in our room, that's the only thing I would have changed.
Review 101:The staff was friendly! Our room was great! The bed provided the best night sleep I've had in a while. The views were incredible. Love the personal touches of local vendors for tea, coffee and soap. It was all so beautiful.
Review 102:Nothing.
Review 103:Friendly, efficient staff. Very comfortable and clean room. Two on-site restaurants. Although just a few minutes from town, it felt like a quiet oasis because of beautiful views across the golf course toward the mountains.
Review 104:Sure was loud for a brand new high in place. We could here people talking in there room next to us and then house cleaning was heard through out the building. Besides the noise it was awsome.
Review 105:Location just 5 minutes from Old Mill District and Downtown Bend Beautiful new property Beds very comfortable Great room layout Very quiet rooms Cleanliness was immaculate
Review 106:Would be great to know other activities that are available on a daily basis.
Review 107:Friendliness of staff, size/comfort of rooms, closeness to mountain bike trails
Review 108:No pool yet ... should be fabulous next summer!
Review 109:Tastefully decorated large room, very comfortable beds, high quality bed linens and plush bath towels. Lovely lanai with great view of golf course and distant mountains.
Review 110:was slow for the dinner orders. Coffee was stale and acidy. They should stock fresh and better brand coffee.
Review 111:We liked the location, view and friendliness of the staff.
Review 112:It was nice that they had multiple pillow options, but the bed was very soft. Not a great sleep if you have back problems. My son gave up his bed and slept on the couch. The first two meals at the restaurant were excellent, but the service was slow. The last breakfast was horrendous, and it took an hour to get the breakfast and at least 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Our server was also the bartender, which stretched him too thin to be attentive. Consequently, we didn't get a coffee refill until we were almost ready to go. I told the waiter the food was terrible, and he wouldn't let us pay for the food, plus he admitted that the service was not good. Since the two other meals were outstanding, we would try the restaurant again.
Review 113:Deluxe queen room was spacious, very modern, and came with an incredible view of the golf course, valley, and mountains. The gas fireplace added a nice touch to the room, and the patio was great for sipping a beverage and relaxing after an active day in the high desert.
Review 114:For such a nice place, the sound insulation between rooms was very poor...we heard whole conversations and intimate relations that disrupted our sleep.
Review 115:Impressive location with great views. The room was nicely appointed with a very comfortable fireplace.
Review 116:Tetherow is not really a hotel. It is a real estate investment property, meaning they sell the rooms to introduce prospective buyers of land to the area; since we booked the room with booking.com we were not given a second thought. Check-in felt like being in a movie somewhere between James Bond and The Matrix. The staff repeatedly told me I got a "whale of a deal" by booking with booking.com but frankly when I pay over $200 for one night in a hotel I expect a bathtub in my room. Howard Johnson's Inn at $70/night had more amenities than Tetherow- bathtub, public computer, wakeup service, free breakfast, swimming pool, shuttle service.... none of which offered at Tetherow. For some of those I would have passed on the chocolate and the welcome note and fancy wetbar at Tetherow. The staff member who escorted us to our room (sci-fi...) told us "you must wear the robes" (Matrix??)... The climate control was central so we were pumped in heat to the room when we wanted AC. There was no option to decide on our own (Matrix?) Beautiful but kind of creepy...knowing that it was a sales project and so high-tech we weren't even sure they didn't have hidden cameras or bugged room ("1984" revisited?)
Review 117:Modern, Clean, Fancy, Elegant, comfortable beds My husband is a "Matrix" kind of guy- he loved it.
Review 118:Not a thing!
Review 119:Quiet and serene, with a commanding view of the countryside. It has all the amenities one would want. Convenient to town, but removed from all the noise and congestion. You will not regret staying here!
Review 120:Everything was lovely and I'm looking forward to when a hot tub and swimming pool are completed for guest use at some future date.
Review 121:Everything about the facility was beautiful. We were especially impressed and grateful for the courtesy and kindness experienced at check-in. Eric was very helpful in dropping us off and picking us up on our evening adventure.
Review 122:Located a couple of miles outside of town so if you are looking for options within walking distance this isn't the place.
Review 123:Beautiful new lodge with high quality amenities and friendly, helpful staff.
Review 124:Would of loved to have a pool.
Review 125:We don't golf so did not think we would enjoy having a view of the golf course. It was totally fun. The room was so clean and big. We ate dinner at the smaller restaurant and the food was very good. Very close driving distance to town.
Review 126:The entrance door was really loud every time it closed! You constantly hear it when you are in your room.
Review 127:We were traveling with our large collie and loved the fact that Tetherow was pet friendly. We appreciated the dog bed, treats, and dog grog! The staff was really friendly and helpful. We definitely will stay there again!
Review 128:Loved the lay out of the room. The entry room with hooks for coats and a place to leave your shoes was great! Also having a deck with table and chair was very nice.
Review 129:There is no place to buy snacks or sundries on the property but the west side Safeway is only 4 minutes away.
Review 130:We didn't know anything about this place but decided to try it, and we loved it. It is right at the edge of Bend but on a new golf course with great views of the mountains. The room was very large, nicely designed and well-furnished. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The restaurant and pub had really good food at reasonable prices. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A first-class resort.
Review 131:Great location and beautiful rooms!
Review 132:location comfort food sledding hill access to the Athletic Club of Bend can't wait for the additional amenities on property
Review 133:facility not done being built. will have more to offer in the future.
Review 134:great facility and great service.
