Reviews for SP Suites Millennium Park
Review 1:The sound of the air conditioner is too loud when it is working. For me, the sound won't disturb my sleep at night though.
Review 2:The location is very convenient, just beside the Millennium Park with many shops around. Bus station just outside the building.
Review 3:Staff at front desk were very unfriendly. We stayed 6 nights and had no clean towels offered in that time. We ran out of toilet paper and were told we had to buy our own. For us paying in NZ$ it wasn't that good value for money.
Review 4:Location was very good. Size of apartments were good too.
Review 5:The Shower was tepid
Review 6:We booked the one bed room Apt for a week. The Building is across from the Subway. The Staff was excellent. The room was clean. The Wifi was strong The Kitchen was modern. The location was perfect.
Review 7:The only thing I didn't like was the dirty shower curtain
Review 8:I loved the location! It was right in the vicinity of tourists attractions and great food places all around us.
Review 9:This isn't a negative but you must remember this is an apartment so come prepared you can't just call the desk for something in the middle of the night. We brought extra blankets and all the food we needed. They do have utensils and dishes.
Review 10:This was a great place for my Mother, Son and his girl friend. Great to have two bedrooms and two bathroom. We really made the best of having a kitchen that helps us save money on eating out. The person who checked us in was very helpful out key didn't work. Wanted to help and give us another room but we were happy where we were.
Review 11:We took two rooms, one a two-bedroom apprtment for my two daughters and their husband's which was excellent. And a smaller one-bedroom apartment for us older folk. Bed was a bit soft but in General also good.
Review 12:Location and helpful telephone and front desk staff. Staff makes the difference between a satisfactory holiday and really memorable one. We are planning to stay again in March 2016 for a week before we return to Australia.
Review 13:The staff wasn't too friendly and wouldn't point us in the direction of a restroom. It wasn't until we checked out that the gentleman informed us there was a restroom on the 13th floor for guests. Thank you to that man!
Review 14:The price and location where ideal! It was very nice of the deal to hold our bags until check in.
Review 15:Maybe a street view would have been cool, but I was out and about most of the time anyway.
Review 16:The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very nice inside, and the amenities available within the room were very good.
Review 17:Great location. Staff are generally helpful. The apartments could be better equipped for people staying longer than a few days i.e. Cooking & cleaning equipment
Review 18:The windows and joints were not in very good condition. Without heating it became quite cold because of the incoming wind.
Review 19:Good location, even if it has been a bit loud during night time. Big appartment, two bed and two bath rooms. Kitchen with all necessairy equipment.
Review 20:Check-in was very confusing. The security guard at the front counter was either very rude or overworked. The bathroom was not cleaned. We paid a cleaning fee. As such you would expect not to find hair and mold in the bathroom shower. Be forewarned that if you need your baggage stored that it will be stored in an open area where anyone could walk in and grab it!!! This is not a hotel it's more like an apartment rental. I will definitely rent from them again!
Review 21:The location was awesome.
Review 22:The main hall lights weren't working and I tripped over a huge vacuum cleaner which was parked just behind the door, on entering the room. The room was pitch dark, and had to call in the Security to put on the lights.
Review 23:Spacious apartment, with all comforts. The Security was very helpful. Very good location.
Review 24:When i reached the Chicago and i tried to find my sp. Milenium Park and i didn t find any written like This. In front of the building "Fornelli Tower" written. And that i didn t told about this before. When i couldn t find firstly i m very unhappy and i had to ask a person on this street to where my hotel.
Review 25:Location is very good.
Review 26:Most importantly, I was told that there was no maid service, and so I did not secure valuables. But they did enter my room in the middle of my stay; fortunately, I had taken the valuable items with me at that time, and nothing was taken. But don't believe them when they say that no one will be in your room. Elevators were dangerous with holes in floor tiles, covered only by unsecured carpet patches.
Review 27:Good location, and excellent price for the location. Clerks were professional and efficient, and quickly fixed my key when it stopped working.
Review 28:The front desk personnel were not that friendly, engaging. Few things were broke. Closet door. Toilet paper holder. Only 2 towels for two people for six days.
Review 29:I liked the location. The prize was reasonable.
Review 30:attitude of agent bad, several small things in room : no toilet paperhanger in one bathroom, worn furniture , kitchen area was cramped
Review 31:location in downtown was great was spacious enough
Review 32:Not enough of anything in kitchen to prepare a meal. Room card key or card lock kept needing reprogramming (4 times in 5 nights) which wouldn't have been so bad if there was someone there to do it and I wasn't left hanging around for nearly an hour at 1am (once) till I was lucky I managed to wake my roommate. Also got an electric shock from light switch which wasn't taken very seriously!
Review 33:Location was very good
Review 34:Impossible to get in contact with anyone if you need something.
Review 35:Location and value is great! Not upset with the place and would definitely stay there again but it's impossible to get a hold of someone if you need to change something or have any questions.
Review 36:I stayed 4 nights in this place and they never send a housekeeper to clean the room! Basically treat your room as if you're staying at an apartment not in a hotel!
Review 37:The location is the best about this place and the room has everything you need. The kitchen has plates, cups, pots, spoons, forks, knifes and a microwave.
Review 38:Very noisy fridge and air con, no possibility to turn it off/on. Outdated and dirty bathroom. It took several minutes to wait for hot water to run. No view, my window was facing to the inner court. No extra services.
Review 39:Easy check-in (actually your room card is provided with a printed list of instructions) and check-out (just leave the card at the lobby). Direct connection via the Blue line to/from the airport.
Review 40:No connected ramp, the room looked nothing like the pictures, hard to find, dirty bathroom. They also didn't have my reservation and was lucky they had an open room.
Review 41:The price.
Review 42:The studio room was very small, the bed and the very large, noisey fridge took up most of the space. Very little room between the wall and the bed on both sides. Would be OK for a one night stay but not suitable for an 8 night stay. Very hard to contact the management and the security staff acting as reception not able to help.
Review 43:The Location
Review 44:I did not like that since I arrived before check out time I wasn't able to check out. We had to rush to catch the train but the person we needed to check out with wasn't there yet so we just left
Review 45:I like that is cheaper to stay here then book a hotel and you also have a kitchen two bathrooms and three rooms
Review 46:Not handicap friendly, view was of quad not Chicago, black mold in shower area which should be cleaned up with the $120 cleaning fee applied, the building isn't even showing the name under which we booked the room, check-in had to be 4:30 pm or later and check out by 10:00 am the day leaving.
Review 47:It was close to the start of the marathon.
Review 48:This is a basic apartment in a good location that is close to most everything. It doesn't have the amenities typically found in a hotel but is nevertheless a good value. We had a 2 bedroom unit on the 21st floor and the bedrooms rooms were big and comfortable.
Review 49:Odd place - no signs, difficult to find. NOT A HOTEL! Looks more like short term residential suites. No support on site, but if you self cater, is very affordable and more than adequate.
Review 50:Great location for being near Loop and great south end parks.
Review 51:Air.Con efficient but fan speed made it very noisy No telephone in room or in lobby.
Review 52:Location great we could walk everywhere. Good sized room. Large bathroom (no bath) Comfortable bed.
Review 53:1. No one welcome us in. 2. Never met person in charge, the security guard let us in and that was it. 3. Rm too small for 2 people. 4. Impossible to eat in kitchenette, table 4ft high, 1 chair too low for table. 5. big furniture/appliance not appropriate for small rm. 6. Hallway rug very dirty on 19th floor.
Review 54:Location
Review 55:The entrance is not nice. There is no sign of the SP Suites Mill.. at all to make sure for travelers that it's the right place.
Review 56:Nice location is comfortable to have fun with shopping, traveling and more.
Review 57:The only part we didn't like was not having maid service at least one time during the 5 days we were there. Also not enough towels
Review 58:loved having 2 bathrooms and 2 seperate bedrooms. loved that we had a full kitchen
Review 59:We had a fight going on right in front of our front door around 2 or 3 in the morning !!!! Poor experience!!! I rented 2 rooms and the second room we kept having trouble with the key !!
Review 60:We liked the location.
Review 61:Not a real hotel, no lobby, just a security guard. No sign on door either, walked past the door a couple of times before going in.
Review 62:Great location, very clean and roomy. Good value.
Review 63:too much noise (a/c system makes a lot of noise in addition to noises coming from street), very old apartment not clean. the windows were left open and stuck so we were unable to close them. the checkout time was very early, 1000 AM. the plates, glasses etc in the kitchen were dirty we were unable to use them. There is no sign of "SP Suites" on the outside door, the landlord should give a proper address on bookings.com website.
Review 64:great location, a secure building
Review 65:Charged too much for "Cleaning fee" when they don't clean. Found what I'd assume were pubic hairs on the white sheets and on shower wall. Door was very difficult to close, had to slam it. Obvious problem considering I found tape on the lock. Also check out is very early considering check in time isn't until 4:30!
Review 66:Spacious room and very close to everything! Coffee shops, places to eat, tourist sites and taxis!
Review 67:The location in the heart of the city and the size of the three bedroom apartment were the chief features. The person on the desk when we arrived was extremely helpful.
Review 68:The hotel room was extremely warm the air conditioner did not work (we were on the 21st floor and were told there was nothing that could be done about the heat). There was a $120 US 'room cleaning fee' which would not have been bad if the room was ever cleaned. We did not receive clean towels, emptied garbage's or a made bed any of the 4 days we were there. The hotel is not actually labeled anywhere as SP suites but rather Forteni Towers. The lock on the door did not work and there was not a safe in the room for our passports, cellphones etc.
Review 69:The location of the hotel was fantastic. The hotel was right across from the public library which is also visitor information. The hotel was also halfway between navy pier and shed aquarium (20-30mins each way)
Review 70:I did not see the fine print of 120 per room cleaning. I was surprised and disappointed. The price was not so good then. This should be said up front with the rate
Review 71:Nice accomodation in good area
Review 72:Rooms looked like a time warp from the 60's with WiFi added to make it sound up to date. Cleanlines was poor, qulaity of bedding, sheets etc was poor. The Blinds did not function on any adjustment. The kitchen looked functional, but lacked basic things like a plug for the sink. To open the Oven, you had to open the fridge. The check in time was very late, and very inflexible. Some of the Staff on front desk appeared to view guests as an inconvenience. Lounge Furniture was tired. Air conditioning was so Noisy it was almost unbearable to have on when in the room.
Review 73:Location. WiFi.
Review 74:The staff was unfriendly and at times rude. It seemed that you were annoying them with your questions. Facilities were rather old and runned down.
Review 75:Location, its very convenient, near landmarks, restaurants and stores. Bus and metro stations are very near. Three bedroom apartment was great for 4 people.
Review 76:Building is hard to identify. It is called Fornelli Tower. Check in is a bit weird. You have to ring a number and they tell the desk staff to give you a key. These rooms are primarily long term lets so once you get your head round that fact, everything is ok.
Review 77:We had a kitchenette and it worked brilliantly. Massive fridge and full oven and hob. Kitchen was stocked with basic plates, cutlery and pans so could make meals easily. Bathroom and shower great, nice big TV. Air con did work though it was a bit noisy.
Review 78:No basd experience but some things were annoying. Wi-fi did not operate very well--most of the time it was not available. The air-conditioning was welcome but very noisy--enough to drown out the sound on the television. The bathroom could use a few amenities such as a soap dish or place in the shower to put the shampoo.
Review 79:Location was perfect for first-timers to Chicago. Having a kitchen was great for breakfast and mid-day or evening snacks.
Review 80:Easy checkin. Staff was helful also extremely nice..great location..loved the junior suite perfect set up..only thing no clean towels changed daily or where to empty the trash.it does have a very high fee for cleaning..but thst must be for after you check out.the other draw back is check out is 10 am and the facility would not allow later check out..
Review 81:Staff were not very helpful - never told us there was a gym, or a laundry. When I discovered the laundry no-one explained the card system to us. An overview letter on checkin would have been useful.
Review 82:Excellent location for visiting and exploring downtown Chicago.
Review 83:our air conditioner wasn't working properly - even though it wasn't that big of a deal. the security ladies down in the foyer were very unfriendly - we are two foreigners who asked for some direction help and both ladies (on different days) weren't happy to help us. Over all it didn't stop us from having a fantastic trip :)
Review 84:The location was amazing. the bed is super comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. bathroom was spacious and very clean. thank you
Review 85:Not all the electrical outlets worked, cheap furniture--not sturdy, thin blanket on bed--no other comforter, blinds broken and held together with a paper clip, second bedroom had no blinds and a very large window with full sun exposure.
Review 86:convenient, kitchen was great
Review 87:Not the highest quality furnishings but exactly what was expected, did the job.
Review 88:Great size and value for the price, had everything we needed. In town for lollapalooza, great location.
Review 89:The address was misleading. It took a while to locate the building because there is no sign that says SP Millenium Suites. The room was not ready upon our arrival. The toilet floor tiles need urgent repair. Closet doors were broken. There was no safe to keep valuables this was very important to us.
Review 90:Blinds in one of the rooms were broken we asked staff to fix it no one ever came. Sun was bright around 6am couldn't sleep. Ask for extra blankets no one ever even bother to answer. Lady at the front desk was rude
Review 91:It was big and spacious for the price
Review 92:That doesnt included the cleaning, changing towels daily or take out the garbage.
Review 93:We booked 2 apartments for a week, we were a family of 15, we really liked this place, the location is the best in the middle of everything, the beds were comfy, overall it was the best choice for us and we will booked again without thinking about it.
Review 94:The location was not the same location shown on the website when booked. The condo itself definitely needs a deep clean/new updates. Selected 12-1pm check-in and was not able to check-in until after 4pm.
Review 95:Location was wonderful.
Review 96:This place was absolutely horrible. It totes itself as "SP Millenium Suites," but it is NOT. We got to the address provided, there was ONE security guard working who told us we had to wait 5 hours for our room. HORRIBLE.
Review 97:NOTHING.
Review 98:Night shift gals were very rude on Friday night. A key was locked in theroom so we needed to get in at 11 pm. Both the gal at the front desk andgal that met us w master key to unlock the door were not nice at all...Not a word or a smile just unlocked and snarled and left
Review 99:Gal working day shift when we checked Friday was awesome! Very sweet, polite & inviting!! Give her a raise!
Review 100:Could not change tv channels, 3 remotes and only had sports show and no instructions on what to do. No hair dryer, but was aware of that, so brought my own.
Review 101:Location was very convenient . I also liked it because it wasn't a hotel room, but an apartment.
Review 102:The room definitely needs to be earned better. The shower had mold around the fixtures and hair from previous guests. The paint needs to be touched up as well. Overall a quaint place to stay. Theate check in and early check out was an inconvenience.
Review 103:The location is amazing and close to nearby attractions and subway lines
Review 104:Noisy building infrastructure audible in the room, loud fridge; air conditioning blows a very noisy gale; bed linen slippery, quite an achievement; little light
Review 105:Location and wifi excellent; laundry facilities useful if complicated to pay for
Review 106:The bathroom floor in the shower was absolutely disgusting... The room was tiny, and it did not feel like an apartment, it felt like a rented room in an apartment...
Review 107:The location was great, they provided a cot free of charge
Review 108:We were on the 15th floor, it was a hot day in July, and the air conditioning was doing it's best to keep the apt really cool. It wasn't unbearably hot, but a few fans would have gone a long way to keep it cooler.
Review 109:Great location and great value for the money! We needed a roll away cot and one was brought right up. Very clean, comfortable and nice place and a short walk to attractions and shopping. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 110:Dirty, awful lighting in the room made it seem so depressing to be in atnight time. Had a stranger in front of hotel at night time harass me andno one was around to feel like I was safe at all. Way too overpriced forthe amenities received.
Review 111:Ac did not work, wifi didnt work was never contacted after I left a message. Rude unhelpful staff. Dont like I have to contact someone off site for anything. Waste of 400 dollars. Will not stay there again.
Review 112:Great location.
Review 113:We wish someone was more specific about parking and told us to get a sticker everyday to ensure we received the $18 rate.
Review 114:We loved the location of this Place! Right downtown and close to the subway. We parked our car at E 20 Randalph street and got a discount of $18 a day to park there. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. The people that are negatively reviewing are being way too picky. Half of the building is apartments which is why there is no cleaning service until after you leave. Completely fine! Stay here!
Review 115:room as not been clean all week, didn't receive a recipe when I check out, tv didn't work call maintenance number they never show to fix it.
Review 116:No properly working wifi - extremely loud ventilation in the room (also when AC off...) hard to sleep with the noise. Staff only partially present if at all, hard to get the basics (could not get a proper invoice for the room other than the print out of the reservation...).
Review 117:The kitchen was stocked for 4 people and not 5 so one person had to go without a fork or spoon or plate. The mini blinds in one bedroom were broken. WiFi was not accessible until staff was in the office (limited hours) so we could fetch the password.
Review 118:Location! We were 5 people and shared a three bedroom apartment (3 adults and 2 children). Loved having two full bathrooms. It would be helful to know exactly what supplies are in the kitchen so guests know what to bring from home or shop for nearby.
Review 119:Amazing location, just a block from Millennium Park. Could walk to most things and subway lines are just one and two blocks away. There is no name for SP Suites, its called Fornelli Towers. It's a residence for university kids on one part. Had a bachelor here, best venue for it.
Review 120:Some broken furniture in the apartment and missing items in the kitchen eg. only 3 glasses, when there is 4 of us staying there.
Review 121:It walking distance to most tourist destinations. It was great to have a kitchen to prepare food some days.
Review 122:Hotel was impossible to locate and no employees answered the phone when we called multiple times. Employees were cold and distant and not helpful. We asked for directions to the Red Line and they just grunted and pointed. The room did not come with toilet paper and when we asked for some we were told we would have to go buy some.
Review 123:Nothing.
Review 124:cleanliness, lack of daily cleaning service. The TV just wouldnt work. The carpets were not clean
Review 125:The location was a highlight! Right near millenium park, it was way too convenient
Review 126:The wifi didn't work... At all. We called several times and they said they'd "look into it and call us back." They never did.
Review 127:The location was perfect and the view was great.
Review 128:The general state of the lobby, lifts and common areas was worn out. The rooms were decently sized but the living areas were cramped
Review 129:An excellent location with easy access to sights, transportation, food and grocery options nearby.
Review 130:Great spot, easy to find long term parking with parkingwhiz.com, Toni French Bakery on the ground floor is a treasure! Apt. was great for our family vacation. Easy to catch a cab at the curb!
Review 131:Staff in place rude and incapable. They pointed US a parking in an non-existent road and gave US wrong indications about the price and procedure to have discount (180$ for 5 days).Chicago is expensive but they have to be aware of the procedure how to get discount (move the car every day). No control at the entrance and broken air conditioning.
Review 132:I liked the position and the dimension of the bed
Review 133:- Cleaning Fee of USD 120 not included on the quotaton; - Air Conditioner does not works; - We paid USD 90 for parking our car for 2 days. As soon as we checked in we were advised that a they have a discoind for Macys Parking, however, the discount did not worked and we were obligate to pay the full price.
Review 134:Lobby is a dump as are elevators. The Hotel name is no where to be found on the building. TV did not work and I had to sleep in an 82 degree room the first night because the ac did not work.
Review 135:the room is decorated very nicely
Review 136:Paying a cleaning fee and then finding the place in a total mess. Food and grease on the walls, stove was a germ pit. Needs to be cleaned.
Review 137:Ease to get to top spots in Chicago.
Review 138:The lobby staff could smile from time to time. They look so grumpy.
Review 139:Location! Just in front of the Millennium Park and the Information Center. In addition, the place is quiet and you can prepare your food.
