Reviews for The Chili Beach Boutique Hotel

Review 1:If I am being picky, it would have been good if the minibar was stocked with more water each day as we drank a lot

Review 2:Staff were really excellent and amongst the best we experienced in 3 weeks of travelling in Brazil. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, as are the drinks. Location is just perfect in Jeri

Review 3:When we were first there we pretty much had the hotel to ourselves which was great - although we did get woken up each morning by the breakfast preparation outside our room (we had the so called top end sea view room) but the doors didn't offer sound protection. After the second night we decided to stay again and chose the room behind (garden room) after a day in the sun we went back in and the air conditioning was broken. I went to the reception and they said I could move Rooms and pay extra for the upgrade - which for a 5 star hotel is ridiculous and frankly not what I wanted to have to argue about on our honeymoon. When we were first there, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, although there was one guest who sat on her own at mealtimes eating. It turned out she was the manager - which I find extraordinary, as, as a guest, you should never ever see your staff eating. She didn't wear uniform and didn't introduce herself. On our last day there, we had an incident that highlighted the indifferent management and left us feeling let down and upset. In the rooms the bathroom is behind the bedroom area and the shower has a glass screen as well as an entirely glass wall that backs onto a patio area, about 3 feet deep. On the last morning, my wife was taking a shower and looking up saw a person looking over the wall at her in the shower. It turned out to be a middle aged pervert in the next door room. We were obviously very upset by this and whilst they say it isn't the gun that kills people, it's the person holding it, likewise it could be said that it's not the hotels fault that someone decides to look over a wall. But no hotel in the world should have a glass walled shower when it is in any way possible to look into the shower from the outside. It is also possible for the next door room to look onto our bed - actually with more ease than the shower due to the angle and the lack of curtains.

Review 4:We stayed here over a week of our honeymoon. We really liked it and it was everything that we would have wanted for this week - until the end of our stay. When we got to jericoacoara, we weren't sure we'd like it as it is very windswept and the wind is pretty relentless - great if you are into wind sports, but quite stressful if you just want to relax in the sun. The chili hotel is pretty well sheltered although the beach it looks out on is rugged and the sea looks quite choppy. The sun lounger areas are exposed as well as the pool which is a shame. The serving staff were excellent and the food was fantastic value and amazing - although we were surprised to see when we left that it was described as an Italian menu. The room itself was lovely in the painted white beach chic way and it was great to have the massive telly at the end of the bed and be able to watch the rugby world Cup.

Review 5:We Didn't feel safe after our second night when getting back to hotel after midnight. No guards on site nor ilumination. Spoke to general manager who supposed to watch camera video to clarify inconvenient episode and never heard back. In case on emergency you have nobody to contact, but the police. Also, we were charged again for hotel during check out. Almost had to argue with staff to remove charge. Hotel was paid in full at least 2 months prior to our trip. Clear Miscommunication and disorganization from their part.

Review 6:Great pool, drinks, and breakfast

Review 7:The wifi is a bit slow, as is the service in the restaurant, but it's often the case in Brazil.

Review 8:We loved everything! Beautiful place. We tried different hotels in Jeri after the Chili Beach because it was unfortunately booked out and for similar prices we got things of a much lower standard. It's a charming boutique hotel, go for it if you can find a room!

Review 9:Nothing went wrong. Restaurant is above city average.

Review 10:Staff attention and helpfulness. Ambiance. Boutique with only 6 rooms. Silent. One block from city center. View of sea. Room. Amenities. Pool/bar facilities.

Review 11:The only disappointing thing : the walls of the bathrooms of the bungalows next to the sea are not well isolated therefore you have (more than an) impression to share your bathroom with the other guests.

Review 12:The service is really friendly and nice. Very nice rooms . High standard

Review 13:Everything was perfect.

Review 21:The staff were outstanding

Review 22:The view to the beach is not very pretty. The nearby area needs landscaping to make it more attractive. Inside the property, everything is perfect!!

Review 23:Great place to relax, best hotel in the area and nice atmosphere for relaxation

Review 24:Simply the best service and hotel that we have stayed at in 80+countries. Attention to detail was crazy - regarding food, atmosphere, room, service, - we now consider Chili Beach as a standard setter!
