Reviews for Embarcadero Inn
Review 1:I liked the location on the water. I liked the hardwood floors. I liked the 2 comfortable beds. I liked the thick towels . And I liked the complimentary breakfast in the morning
Review 2:being remodeled, noise from construction, did not see on Booking's website that this was the case
Review 3:location, clean, large room, quiet at night, view of harbor
Review 4:got a great night's sleep and woke up to boats on the water. not much better than that! We were given room 215. a bedroom living room combo with a view. You can see the rock from the far side off balcony. The owner is great. Very helpful. Breakfast was fine, got our day started. This hotel is kinda at the end of everything, but it was a 6-15 minute walk to shops, restaurants, bars, etc. our room had a view of the bay and Morrow rock, but it's not the closest hotel to the rock. just so you know. We were there in 5 minutes driving and wow! it is cool down there! don't miss it.
Review 5:Our room was located on the third floor and had a nice view out to the bay. It had a cozy fireplace and was very comfortable. The Inn is located at the end of Embarcadero, a close walk to all the shops and restaurants. All the parking is covered, beneath the inn, so our motorcycle was well protected.
Review 6:No breakfast offered for the price and coffe/tea creamer pods would have been better than the icky powdered non dairy creamer but not a real big deal.
Review 7:Nice room. Good amenities. Room was across from a crane that kind of blocks view of the rock but again that's not the hotel's fault. We stayed in the nicer king sized suite and we could have stayed there with our kids for more nights and been very comfortable. Staff was nice. They had a kuerig coffee maker in room that beat the usual awful packaged coffee you get in other hotels.
Review 8:Bathroom way too small and lighting very dated. Had to put everything on floor. Bedding was fresh but my pillow was not. During our stay hotel was being renovated so maybe changes will be made.
Review 9:Location was great. Parking was convenient. Desk was very friendly.
Review 10:The free breakfast was.....ehh.
Review 11:We loved most everything about the Embarcadero Inn. The beds were incredible and the view was outstanding. Everyone on staff was as kind as could be and we even met the owner who was very sincere and appreciative of our patronage. Great place!!
Review 12:Overpriced for the amenities which are provided. The room is very basic looking and should be compared to a $60/night room. There was a partial view with a crane right in front..nothing specia about the room, just higb prices for nothing.
Review 13:There was a crane in the way of the great view of the ocean, but that wasn't the Inn's fault. And the TV was out of focus.
Review 14:My favorite place was the balcony with its great view. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, and the short walk to all the great shops and restaurants.
Review 15:We stayed in room 310, had a great view of the Bay,close to everything,It was a quick Anniversary get a way. We have stayed here before and love it ! Thank you !
Review 16:Breakfast very basic in help-yourself cafeteria with lots of sugar and carbs, but only cold boiled eggs for protein
Review 17:Spacious room with a fridge and microwave. Hotel located right on the Embarcadero in easy walking distance of all the town's main attractions
Review 18:We were upgraded to a great room with a great view for no additional fee. The hot tub was stainless steel and very clean. The staff was very accommodating and was genuinely glad we were there. The view of Morrow Bay was nice. The fireplace in the room, the covered parking and the windshield washer station in the garage were nice surprises from owners that care. We highly recommend this place!
Review 19:I didn't like the bed. Woke up with back aches both of us. And accidentally left jacket on dresser and can't get it back. They said it couldn't be found. Maybe cleaning lady got it. She went in when we left. White flees e with dolphins and morrow bay on it. Just bought the night before.
Review 20:I liked the patio
Review 21:Wish we'd had a night stand on both sides of the bed. When we get older, we have more stuff we have to place on our night stands. Couldn't find the hair dryer till we were packing up to leave: it was in a black bag hanging in the closet. A temporary location while facility is being re-modeled.
Review 22:We loved just about everything. Great view, excellent room, continental breakfast, wonderful parking, and now there are card keys to provide an extra level of security when inside the room! No more room keys!!! Room 214 appeared to have been redecorated in a lovely teal color. Sumptuous towels!!! We were upgraded to a better room while enroute to the hotel when a vacancy in a better room occurred.
Review 23:Pretty outdated bathroom and it was so small/tight we couldn't close the door without lifting the toilet seat lid. Was supposed to have a bay view but it was blocked by the hotel walls.
Review 24:Loved the location and how quiet it was! They had a nice complimentary breakfast, husband loved the coffee.
Review 25:It was all good :-)
Review 26:Comfortable & spacious room with lovely view. The Inn is in a great location Rooms were very well equipped with any extras you may need. The staff were very helpful & went out of their way to locate and return cash to us that we only missed some time after moving on.
Review 27:The toilet was in the way of the bathroom door. Wouldn't shut without hitting the toilet.
Review 28:How close it was to everything! Liked having a private balcony!
Review 29:No smoking allowed on the balconies. My husband likes to smoke cigars when ate relaxing on vacation.
Review 30:The view and the continental breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable.
Review 31:We did not have a bad experience, however, all rooms face the buildings and equipment across the street which obscures the view of Moro Rock and the bay. Carpets need to to replaced or at least cleaned. There is no air conditioning and we were there on an evening that was unusually hot...sweltered all night but didn't feel comfortable leaving the sliding door open at night.
Review 32:Staff was very accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory.
Review 33:Breakfast is not good, no fresh products, only plastic plates, cups. Water ("coffee", shower), much too chlorinated and smelly
Review 34:When I wanted another room, from which the see and harbour is visible, they were very friendly and gave another room, upgraded, for free.
Review 35:breakfast could have been better for the $$, also more facilities
Review 36:Awesome room, very clean amazing view! Staff was very helpfulness gave us great recommendations
Review 37:No air conditioning. Broken coffee carafe. No in room safe. No bottled water in room to compensate for stinky, foul tasting tap water. Scratchy, old towels.
Review 38:Location
Review 39:Wish they could do something with that crane in front of the hotel. it mars a beautiful view.
Review 40:Pleasantly surprised with the upgrade to the suite. thank you.
Review 41:We were not fond of adjacent hotel guest smoking in their respective patio area.
Review 42:We loved the location of the hotel and ample parking. Free continental breakfast. Nice view of the Morro Bay Rock!
Review 43:Breakfast was nice, good variety, however would have liked a better variety of fresh fruit. Not just apples, oranges, Was told property had been sold. Looking forward to some interior upgrades, rugs, shower curtain, etc.
Review 44:Location: close to shops, restaurants and the view of bay, and Morro Rock, although our view was partially obscured by a crane.
Review 45:Embarcadero Inn is a great hotel! I'm so happy I chose this hotel for our stay this past weekend and so is my sister and our two friends. Jessica at the front desk rocks!
Review 46:The hotel was very clean, amazingly comfortable bed and last but not least, Jessica our hotel specialist was so nice, helpful and very professional. Our stay was one to remember and we'll definitely recommend to others and will return in the future!
Review 47:No air conditioning. Needs a complete remodeling. The bed was broken down. Needs better sound insulation.
Review 48:I liked the location. The breakfast was good. The off street parking was very nice.
Review 49:owner was very nice and treated us like old friends. we have stayed in other hotels he owns and has always been very nice! Can't beat the location and view from our balcony was beautiful!
Review 50:Carpeting was dirty - Room 308 Beds very uncomfortable - too firm (stayed in 2 different rooms) Pillows uncomfortable - flat (stayed in 2 different rooms)
Review 51:Pros: Location - nearly on the boardwalk. Walking distance to shops and restaurants Great view of the bay Great view of Morro Rock Main Kitchen facility In room refrigerator
Review 52:Overall, ok deal for closeness to town shops. Just dated interiors, which is common for beachfront at this price.
Review 53:Easy walk to all of the shops and restaurants. Great parking.
Review 54:nothing was available except a king bed (last room) and wanted to charge us for a blow-up mattress that leaked. Felt the room was WAY overpriced for what we got.
Review 55:they have an elevator and office staff were very nice.
Review 56:The location was great across from bay, great for watching birds. The room was very spacious, clean. We loved the fireplace with t.v. upwards where you could watch in bed. We hadn't been there in years since being remodeled, great job. We didn't have time to use jacuzzi, but it looked amazing. We will definitely will return, hopefully soon.
Review 57:I didn't like that there was no AC and the constant donging of a bell from the harbor made sleep difficult without the noise from an air conditioning unit or a fan.
Review 58:I liked the friendliness of the staff, the availability of the spa, free DVDs and popcorn, and free parking.
Review 59:breakfast room too much small, just few tables and seats referring to the numbers of all guest. it could be happen to wait for long time before taking a place. food choice poor!!!
Review 60:well located and wonderful point of view
Review 61:The breakfast room was cramped. The hallways especially outside housekeeping should have been vacuumed.
Review 62:The room was comfortable and clean with a partial view of the bay from the balcony.
Review 63:There was almost no hot water from the tap, just a tiny tiny stream. The Wifi didn't work well and the TV went off in the middle of a program. We got the last room and it felt that way. Dark with no balcony at the end of the hall.
Review 64:It is close to the main area by the water.
Review 65:The breakfast was just average. But it was free.
Review 66:The room was large and comfortable. The balcony was wonderful. We ate breakfast out on the balcony each morning and watched the sunset each evening. The location of the hotel is almost perfect.
Review 67:no hotel facilities you would expect (restaurant bar etc). A tiny kitchenette for self served continental breakfast.
Review 68:Good harbour side position. Large clean comfortable rooms Free DVDs rental Pleasant staff (as there was, one person in reception) Two good restaurants nearby( Windows on the water and the Galley Seafood Grill)
Review 69:Big gap under room door let in hallway light at night which shined directly on the bed.
Review 70:Location made it easy to walk where we wanted to go. Great view from the balcony into the harbor especially at sunset.
Review 71:I've been coming to Morro Bay for years now on business and pleasure and Ive stayed at lots of the spots here and by far I enjoyed the Embarcadero Inn the most. This was my first time staying but I will make this my home sort of speak at Morro Bay. The staff if very frendly here and look forward to my next stay.
Review 72:I had an incredible time at this motel. It was great and would invite others to enjoy it.
Review 73:I loved the breakfast. The staff were so friendly. The view from balcony was incredible.
Review 74:Minor plumbing issues were slightly inconvenient. No front desk staff from 10p-7a.
Review 75:Good view of the bay and the Rock. Staff were friendly, helpful. Updated the elevator key system on my last day, showing they care about improving convenience, security, etc.
Review 76:Hot tub was only open from 3pm till 9pm Would have liked to used it in the am
Review 77:Hot tub was amazing! The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable!
Review 78:Easy and very friendly check in - offered free DVDs with loads of current titles and popcorn waiting in the microwave!
Review 79:Not a lot of information about where to eat late...we arrived after 9pm and wish we'd been told about the pizza place ...that we eventually found about 10pm!! its a sleepy little town that seems to mainly attract older travelers.....
Review 80:but the wifi was very poor and for many guests this is important as we use it to plan our trip and keep in touch
Review 81:the staff were very friendly and the beds were comfortable
Review 82:When I checked in and went to our room, it was located right across from the elevator and next to the breakfast room(I asked not to be close to the elevator and they got it backwards). The owner was there and within 10 minutes everything was made right.
Review 83:The Wi-Fi was very slow. We had a very hard time using our laptop.
Review 84:All the rooms here are great! All have balconies and all look out over the bay. Very beautiful, relaxing and romantic!
Review 85:Facility needed a little upgrading . The quality of the towels and toiletries also could have been better.
Review 86:Great location and reasonably priced. Breakfast was just okay and not really a top priority for me. Probably would be good for families with kids.
Review 87:We loved the balcony and the location. You can walk from here out to Morro Rock and back and it is less than 3 miles round trip. They have the Carbon malted waffles as part of their free breakfast. Also, DVD players in the rooms so bring your DVDs.
Review 88:The location is perfect. Located close to the harbor and tourist area, but away from the noise. more than comfortable room, and helpful, friendly staff.
Review 89:Suggest keeping breakfast open until 11 AM on weekends.
Review 90:The person that checked us in gave us a nice room on the third floor with two queen beds which was what I requested. Continental breakfast was nice but the hours are too short.
Review 91:Free wi-fi barely worked. Some parts of the property are a little worn.
Review 92:The location with views of the marina was fantastic. Front desk staff friendly with good suggestions for dinner. Also received an upgrade to a better room.
Review 93:It would of been nice to have access to the hot tub passed 10:00 pm, other than that no complaints.
Review 94:The easy access from the parking garage to room. The service from the employees was good, made the stay very comfortable.
Review 95:I definitely feel like I made the right choice in hotel for my first visit to Morro Bay. The staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Very satisfied!
Review 96:Wonderful room, excellent view of the bay, great breakfast. Loved the gas fireplace! The room was clean, comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would come back again definitely.
Review 97:Weekend rates are high compared to mid-week. Pricing for the area in general is high for the type of hotels and inns in the area.
Review 98:Location and easy walk to bay and shops
Review 99:The hot tub spa was either always in use or down for maintenance. Also the vending machines were a little pricey.
Review 100:While the continental breakfast was a close second, my favorite part of my stay was watching the sunrise and sunset on the balcony with the sunlight reflecting on the water
Review 101:Clean hotel inside and out. Amazing location with views. I will stay here every time I go to Moro Bay. One unexpected perk was the free movie dvd rentals. They had up to date titles and it was great for our little one.
Review 102:I have stayed here before and loved how close the hotel is to everything in Morro bay... Great views of the bay even for a partial view. Nice little spa and even the parking lot has windshield cleaners for your windshield... Great staff... And will definitely be back again.
Review 103:Great view of the bay!!walking distance to all of wharf and downtown..staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating!!would definitely stay there again!!
Review 104:Unable to get a full view of the crane.
Review 105:Very quiet room. The staff was great. Beautiful view of the amazing crane. A real must see. This crane has taken on a life of it's own, imposing itself into the Embarcadero's reviews. They have real keys too! Some may dislike this old school approach, but remember, the office closes at 10:00 PM. I have never demagnetized a real key or had it quit working. Will definitely stay again. Rock on Embarcadero!, Rock on.
Review 106:A water bottle would have been nice to have in the room upon arrival and faster wi-fi. But other than those small items, it was a great stay.
Review 107:Staff was very helpful. Bedding was comfortable. Bed was soft. Liked that the room doors were tucked inside the hallway.
Review 108:We were supposed to have a "full view" but we ended up staring at a crane and a building was blocking our view of Morro Rock...disappointing. The view to the left of the boats anchored was nice though.
Review 109:Check in was very quick so we could see the sunset. Staff on duty was super friendly and helpful at all times. Room was spacious and fireplace was nice. Cinnamon buns at breakfast were a treat but otherwise breakfast was average. Quiet even though it was New Year's Eve which was a bit shocking! Watching sea lions play in the bay in the morning was cool! Movies available for free and good selection also a plus.
Review 110:We realize that the walls here are very thin and we can hear people snore right behind our head, all night. Also hear the water turn on and off in other people's rooms. I think the last time we stayed, the staff must have put us one space apart from another room because it was not an issue. It's too bad, but it has made us really question staying here in the future.
Review 111:We have stayed here before and came back because of the location. We enjoyed our check-in with Roger, he's a great addition! The breakfast room staff person was also very nice.
Review 112:Even though I booked a partial ocean view it was still an incredible view to wake up to in the morning. Our room was very clean, updated, the gentleman at the front desk was hilarious. Very friendly staff. The free breakfast offered waffles, toast muffins, fruit, cereal, a nice variety. Would stay here again.
Review 113:your web sight says "no pets" so why the question on pet-friendliness? our dog slept in a carrier in the car over night.
Review 114:over all we were happy :)
Review 115:Staff could not care less that "unobstructed view" is clearly a lie. The second floor rooms are to be avoided at all cost. You will be looking at a crane and buildings across the street and you can hear every step in the room above and when they run the water it's terribly loud. Not the place to go for a romantic retreat. Way more budget motel than the name and description implies.
Review 116:Great location at the end of Embarcadero, free DVD lending, good waffle maker in the breakfast room, if you stand on the balcony and lean out you can kind of see the rock behind a crane across the street. Kind of.
Review 117:Bed was a little squishy for my taste. Decor is dated.
Review 118:We had a king suite and it was huge. Loved the space. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Little perks like microwave popcorn in the room and a whole shelf of books. Also a keurig machine in the room. Nice for coffee lovers. Location is great for walking the embarcadero and bay view.
Review 119:It is an older motel that could use some updating. Our room had a bit of that "old motel odor" and icky carpet. Cleanliness was barely OK (but I am a little picky, I don't like leftover hairs or mold in the bathroom and such) and comfort/bed was just OK. We got a very good rate so can't complain too much, but if we had paid regular rates I would have been more disappointed.
Review 120:Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice that they let you borrow DVDs for free and even give you some microwave popcorn. Whether or not you like this motel depends on what you are used to; I definitely consider it a 2-star facility at best, but the location is hard to beat.
Review 121:Not much happens in Morro Bay off season, but a nice place to break your journey on Highway 1.
Review 122:DVD movie selection at front desk. Simple make your own waffles at breakfast. Hot tub
Review 123:Annoying beep every 23 seconds around the clock! I guess the sound was coming from a buoy? The room was very dark (brown upon brown) and very dated.
Review 124:The breakfast had a good selection to choose from.
Review 125:Room was a bit sterile. Breakfast room was small and crowded- had to wait for a table to open.
Review 126:Walk everywhere, view of the harbor which is across the street from room and balcony. Very large bathroom. Frig, microwave and coffee pot. Good covered parking. Free videos for in-room player. Many TV channels!!!
Review 127:The sliding door off the living room would not open. An old-fashioned key was used to enter the room (no card keys), and there was no inside mechanism at the top of the door to add an additional layer of security while we were inside. However, the outside door on the ground level and the elevator were accessible only by key. We worried about who might have a duplicated key to our room. We did not feel entirely secure in our otherwise perfect room.
Review 128:We stayed in room 317, which was excellent. It had an extremely large living room, with a sofa, loveseat, a large club chair with ottoman. a gas fireplace, TV mounted on the wall, bookcase with books to read, a small refrigerator, bar sink, plates and glasses, tableware, Keurig coffeemaker, and a table with two extremely heavy wooden chairs, a separate bedroom with a king bed, a chest of drawers, a desk, two nightstands, and another large club chair. The bathroom had two sinks and the tub/shower and toilet were in a separate room. There were and two sliding doors with a large balcony facing the harbor. There were always a minimum of 8 bathtowels (beige, not white!), plus smaller towels and washcloths in abundance. Such a lovely treat!
Review 129:There is a large crane in the bay across from the hotel and in some of the smaller rooms, the view is obstructed by the crane and the partial view rooms, patio is small and view sucks
Review 130:Jessica and the other gentleman @ the front desk. We didn't like the first room we were assigned to, so we were given a larger room with a fireplace and better view @ no extra cost. Jessica was excellent and took care of all of our needs while we were there.
