Reviews for Hotel Deca, a Noble House Hotel
Review 1:The studio was super super small. I didn't expect that at all from the pics.
Review 2:Service was excellent. Right next to bus stops to go towards the pikes. Free coffee and bottled water. Really cool and "hip". Great view
Review 3:Out of the 5 nights we stayed the room was only cleaned every other day, We ran out of toilet paper , the room was hard to keep warm because the door has a 2 inch gap at bottom and the cold wind from the stair well blew under the door , the room was cold with heat turned up to 85. Had to ask for a refig and microwave even though it came with the room
Review 4:Busses were close, grocery store was close, staff was overall friendly. we were within blocks of the person we were visiting. On our last visit in November I received free parking because I was a veteran, this visit I didnt
Review 5:When we walked into the lobby the carpet was dirty and needed to be vacuumed. There is a Keurig in the room but no coffee is provided. We did get coffee voucher for the cafe downstairs, but I prefer to have my coffee in my room in my PJs. Next time I will bring my own coffee pods.
Review 6:I was very happy with the cleanliness and the view is amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Review 7:The free wifi didn't work with my system, though my colleagues had no trouble. The lounge would have been better if it was fixed up and quieter.
Review 8:the coffee service in the lobby and a lounge to go for drinks. The room was lovely and spacious with good view.
Review 9:Matt at the front desk was amazing! His customer service skills wereunlike I have seen in quite some time he deserves a raise and to becomemanger! He made the entire situation worth while! The hotel didn'thave the room I booked so he upgraded! Thanks everyone!
Review 10:Staff was friendly. Offered to help me with my luggage and were very courteous. Location was great with many recommended university district restaurants within walking distance. Room was elegantly decorated. Ambience even in the lobby area and restaurants were very good
Review 11:Room size and view described on web site confusing, misleading. Housekeeping staff needs to improve. Free coffee is not free when you consider long waiting line. Wifi slow and requires daily login. Checkout is 11 AM. They agreed to extend to 12 but not 1 pm. I got a corner room with good view but watch out from rooms facing S. WU tower blocks views. In fact most rooms will not have much view.
Review 12:Location near University. In this area this hotel is the best option, despite some short comings.
Review 13:Dining information lacking for the in house eating. We went out.
Review 14:On line info was very helpful and iformative. Slept well, clean and comfortable. No problems.
Review 15:Rooms where messy Staff was a little rude The AC broke down for two days while it was in 90s outside Wall paper was falling off Spider webs in two of the rooms we were in The restaurant in hotel was overpriced and food wasn't good. Wifi would be slow at times
Review 16:Location wasn't to far away from things.
Review 17:But absolutely I excusable to not have a coffee pot in such a pricy 3 star hotel-- and to not have the tieya coffee shop downstairs. Of be open before 7."00 nor a coffee pot available to guests on the hotel premises-- just ridiculous.
Review 18:Pleasant spacious room with interesting f decor and comfortable bed /
Review 19:The location was great, the staff was friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable and quiet. It's an older facility, but they've done a very good job remodeling/updating. I would stay again.
Review 20:Be aware! The pictures are very misleading. The hotel is dead smack in the middle of the hood, it's really bad! The neighborhood is full of foot traffic at all hours, and the parking lot is open and a path between houses and businesses. This open parking lot will also run you 20 bucks a night to park there!!! 20 bucks on top of all of the other fees! No fridge, no hair dryer, rusty sink, noisy bed, super small room, AC unit didn't work, huge gaps in the door that let in a great amount of light, just an all around bad experience for 250+ dollars a night. Buyer beware!
Review 21:The view was nice.... That's really about it!....
Review 22:Only one free wi-fi connection, paid parking in lot that didn't seem very secure. Room was very small for the 200+ price paid. Bathroom tiny (Toliet backed up to sink). View of parking lot.
Review 23:Room was clean and nicely decorated and front desk very nice. Great location near UW and in walking distance of the Ave. Nice coffee shop on site.
Review 24:The hotel computer system was incapable of coordinating the bookings that we made. The names and dates were not transferred and the staff charged debit cards of some of our guests the moment that those were received. In addition, the lack of coffee machine and frig was an inconvenience.
Review 25:The room is well apportioned, had great vistas and the layout is good.
Review 26:Wifi is free but can only access with 1 device, should be 2 devices for 1 traveler. Because would have smartphone and laptop.
Review 27:Location is close to Washington Universiry, and a lot of restaurant nearby. Room is good, bed is cozy, staffs are friendly.
Review 28:Paper-thin walls -- and neighbors who talked until 4:30 am! No coffee in room, no room service, no full-length mirror
Review 29:Location, parking, free WiFi, cleanliness
Review 30:Haven't found a thing but I'm sure if I did it would be far outweighed with all the positives!!!
Review 31:THE most comfortable bed in the world, fab location and facilities and lovely staff, big shout out to Justin new F&B manager, his attitude and warmth will ensure guests comfort ! New to the hotel he is sure to be a great asset- congratulations hotel Del Ray - you're a hit!!!
Review 32:1.No drawers in the entire room. 2.When you use the WC at night you wake up your partner. That's because the light switch is outside the WC, so when you open the WC door to enter, the light is already on, and it's right next to the bed - throwing the light on the person sleeping there. 3.The microwave cord doesn't reach the wall plug. It sits on top of a refrigerator. To plug the microwave to the wall you need to physically move the refrigerator and the microwave. In that position, it partly blocks the little closet where you hang your clothes. 4.Considering how much thought and resources were allocated to the period decor of the hotel, the lack of concern for basic functionality in points 1,2,3 above is even more striking.
Review 33:Quiet, clean, very very comfortable beds. Great mattresses.
Review 34:Bathroom was very small. Price was a little higher than preferred but proximity to desired events and dining made it worth it.
Review 35:We enjoyed the decor and friendly staff.
Review 36:The breakfast does not have much choice in the menu and is served in a tavern style bar, a bit dark for a morning fresh start. Far off the city center. A taxi ride to there is about 15-20 USD.
Review 37:Nice decoration style. In the university district. Friendly staff. Good facility. Nothing to complain.
Review 38:I wish I would have stayed longer to enjoy the room more!
Review 39:I scheduled a regular room and for some reason they upgrade me to thepresidential room!!!!! It was a wonderful surprise and the room was outof this world gorgeous. I travel a lot and like good things. Trust meI'm not exaggerating. Thank you Hotel Deca!!
Review 40:Terrible water pressure in the shower, paper thin walls, stained comforter (which they changed upon request).
Review 41:The decor was nice, the staff was pleasant and efficient, and I got a decent rate for the area through Booking.com. It was convenient that there was a restaurant and coffee shop in the building. They accommodated my request for a corner room, and I had a nice view of the mountain.
Review 42:bed was a bit soft and not terribly comfortable, upkeep could be better - curtain in room was slightly torn and towel rack in bathroom broken. Hallways were noisy and doors let in both sound and light into rooms.
Review 43:location was good, nice sized room, coffee shop in lobby and plenty of parking.
Review 44:No kids at the restaurant for dinner, because it is a bar :( so if you arrive late, no chance for a quick bite at the restaurants if you want to bring your kids. Breakfast is ok, but there are way better places close by
Review 45:Good location Great restaurants around the corner Friendly staff
Review 46:Room small and mediocre for the price. Only 1 glass for 2 guests and paper (!) cups for coffee. Hotel nice but shabby. Service was very good. Difficult to connect to wifi. Extra $19 for parking, not so good. Overall, room worth about $150, but I was charged well over $350. Would most definitely not stay there again or recommend to friends.
Review 47:Nice bed and bathroom.
Review 48:The room was not clean when we arrived. The ice bucket had use coffee in it. There were two use bottle caps on the floor. After the first night stay, I had to call room service to come and clean my room because they neglected to do it.
Review 49:Cost was fairly steep. Drapes were also a pain to close.
Review 50:Everything, including the Tully's on the ground floor, the location, the hotel shuttle which went to the Space Needle for free, the staff, and the comfortable bed.
Review 51:If staying for more than a couple of nights we missed some typical "hotel conveniences". No microwave or refrigerator. Rented one for a flat rate, it was portable. Coffee pot was on a TV stand (beneath the flat screen) but had no access to electrical plug in and we put it on the portable microwave and it wouldnt reach electrical. Had to put it on the floor. Had to keep requesting towels. Two ladies with long hair need two towels each. The hotel has a restaurant which transitions to only a bar in the evening. Not convenient if you have an underage person in your party. I went to the restaurant & ordered room service. There was a gratuity fee and an extra delivery fee and NO happy hour reduced prices for me because I was bringing it to my room. I asked why and they said "Happy Hour prices are to attract customers to the bar," "I replied that Yes I am one of those customers." They still charged me full price (not happy hour food prices) and the additional fees. I decided to stay and carry my own food to my room. That saved approx. $7.00 but being a hotel guest, I paid full price and room service gratuity. Totaling approx $15.00. Paying $15-$20.00 additional for a basic dinner for two and being a hotel guest for 4 nights? Frustrating! Food was very good. Bar is really dark and feels like a basement hideout. Must use a room key to ride the elevators up anywhere- difficult key swiper in the elevator. Especially an issue for older adults, younger children or anyone with issues with dexterity. Good for security reasons though. Very small bathroom (especially the toilet area) If you are a larger hipped person you will be touching cool tile and metal sink stand- glad I had recently lost weight.
Review 52:Convenient location to Univ of WA & the Univ. Village shopping. Convenient onsite parking. Excellent desk staff. Quirky, contemporary style.
Review 53:that I didn't get the view that I had asked for my anniversary
Review 54:It was close to Seattle and what we need to do
Review 55:Almost nothing
Review 56:Great location, nice staffs, good service!
Review 57:The $100 worth in taxes not accounted in the price posted on the booking listing
Review 58:Good staff. Super hot water, instantly.
Review 59:We came for the Apple Cup and the location to UW was perfect. Plus, there were lots of restaurants to walk to.
Review 60:No free parking , no slippers , I found a bug flying in the room, the price is price is higher than what I expected
Review 61:I only like the location
Review 62:A lot of noise from the street. Lots of bums in the district.
Review 63:Great Décor.
Review 64:Bad wifi connection in my room
Review 65:Building needs a little TLC- showing wear.
Review 66:Modern Decor
Review 67:Could hear noise from other rooms at times
Review 68:Overall just a great experience.
Review 69:No cotts or movies on tv
Review 70:Hidden fees!
Review 71:Staff was awesome, expensive but very high end service
Review 72:Staff were awesome and helpful
Review 73:No coffee machine in room.
Review 74:Very convenient location near University Ave and UW campus
Review 75:Room next to ours had a party of very loud people withink yelling until 4am, and we couldn't sleep.
Review 76:Very comfortable beds, nice view.
Review 77:Nicely appointed hotel, friendly & helpful staff. Good location with good public transport links.
Review 78:Should include breakfast
Review 79:Location easy to access
Review 80:There was a miscommunication after the service. Which has spoiled my holiday. The room and service was overall good.
Review 81:The design and location is good
Review 82:need to ask counter for coffee pot
Review 83:service, room size
Review 84:the only thing i really was dissapointed about was that they didnt have a mini fridge.
Review 85:everything lse was fine,
Review 86:Like that it was clean and quiet. We also walked to a great seafood restaurant on the water.
Review 87:beds were stiff, rooms were noisy
Review 88:very clean, excellent staff, convenient to downtown, easy to find
Review 89:i created a mess with my reservation at check in and the staff was incredibly gracious fixing things not once but twice.
Review 90:I loved the Lounge in the cellar - great local beers to try.
Review 91:poor wifi
Review 92:Great location
Review 93:room
Review 94:Room located in SE corner and had an incredible view of Mt. Rainier.
Review 95:Paid parking lot
Review 96:Free wifi and the location
Review 97:Convenient location for a visit to the University, helpful staff, and
Review 98:Bed was too squishy and pillows were not foam as requested, Great hotel otherwise
Review 99:Very noisy u can hear everything from your next door
Review 100:Loved the food in the restaurant.
Review 101:soundproof not good
Review 102:friendly staff walking distance to UW easily dinning
Review 103:traffic
Review 104:upgraded for free. location in UW district. Lots of choices of food in area. biking around Lake Union.
Review 105:Sketchy neighborhood at night - heard several gunshots one night...
Review 106:Great view. Accessiible. Comfortable. Artistic design.
Review 107:Excellent all around
Review 108:Staff very helpful and friendly
Review 109:Over priced and on top of that, had to pay $19 to park in their lot. Only one in your room could link on to the hotels wifi unless you wanted to pay extra.
Review 110:They didn't service our room one day oddly which was a pain to remake the bed with hotel style bedding, the parking lot was too full to park in one night, the air conditioning would often turn off and we had to turn it on several times during the night, the neighborhood is a little uncomfortable- I wouldn't walk to the store down the road at night, the room was very small for being a premium King.
Review 111:Very easy check-in, location is easy to access, there is a great bar in the basement, big windows with great light, there was a giant wedding party out first night and we heard very little noise.
Review 112:The internet was limited to only one device and cost additional for extra devices. This was a first for me at any hotel that I have stayed at in the last year or even ever!
Review 113:I give the staff an A+ for courtesy and helpfulness. When checking in the desk staff was very pleasant in tone and had a big smile on. She also helped answer questions without hesitation. The overall experience was really good.
Review 114:They could be more generous with the towels. We asked for more towels and it took 2 phone calls to get them. The bathroom is extremely small. There was no coffee in the lobby. Overall, it did not feel hospitable.
Review 115:The location is perfect for visiting the Univ of Washington which is only a few blocks away. It is very easy to get to on the bus. There are many inexpensive yet quite tasty places to eat nearby. The lobby has a nice fire going with lots of chairs. Our room had a view of Mt. Rainier when it was visible!
Review 116:Only one person can be hooked up to WiFi at a time. Poor signage for ice machine, no room service even with a restaurant on site. If there were room service I would have use it-
Review 117:The room, the hotel in general
Review 118:The walls are very thin, I was able to hear conversations and folks out in the hall and next door very easily. I was near the elevator and the sound level was bothersome. The doors bang very loud when you open and close them. There are not many good restaurants nearby, you have to walk down the big hill to the University Mall to get higher quality food. However, there are a lot of cheap, university type of foods in the vicinity, and one grocery store. The hotel does not have an a refrigerator to store cool drinks or food.
Review 119:The hotel is clean, comfortable and was in a decent location for my purposes.
Review 120:No openable window for fresh air. Very stuffy and poor air circulation. Noisy, poor insulation between rooms and hallway.
Review 121:Decor was nice Staff were helpful
Review 122:The staff was a little caught off guard by the fact that they have people that stay there while in town for a show across the street. Not all travelers and over 45 and in their rooms getting ready for bed by 8pm. There could be a way better use of space in the lobby area.
Review 123:Its a well done remodel, modern and efficient but still with character. The lobby is huge, and the location is good for what we were staying there for. The bar downstairs makes very good drinks and has great food.
Review 124:Pipes in the toilet froze and it backed up because the bathroom was so cold while the heat could not be turned off. 85 degrees and the fan had 3 settings high med and low no off. Had to open a window in December and put a fan in it. makes for a non restless night. the price and hidden costs were outrageous for the room. I would not recommend this place to any one.
Review 125:location was close art deco design ok
Review 126:Unfortunately the heating/cooling system would only put out warm airwhen we turned it to cool, but one of the repair people was next doorfixing the adjoining rooms door and he removed the screws from thewindow latches so we could cool the room by opening them. It workedperfectly and we were very comfortable.
Review 127:Staff was amazingly attentive and courteous. The room and entireexperience far exceeded our expectations!
