Reviews for Rainbow Motel
Review 1:The bathroom and room door were right next to each other at a weird angle and at night I walked out into the hallway instead of into the bathroom and locked myself out - that was lame.
Review 2:Exactly what we needed - clean, comfortable room without extra frills that would have made it unnecessarily expensive.
Review 3:The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen! You can wash your hands in the sink while taking a poo. A tip: bring your own toilet paper. The TP supplied is not tush friendly. Also, it's one of those bathroom where there are mysterious markings on the ugly drapes and other places that you hope you're not right in guessing what they may be. Kitchen came equipped with a good amount of utensils and plates to get by but this is the kind of place where you want to double wash everything and not touch the sheets!
Review 4:I come to Bend with a group of friends every winter to cash in on our free week day Bachelor ski passes from the Warren Miller Show for a extended weekend of eating, drinking and playing in the snow! We always find a CHEAP hotel and pack into the room. We had stayed at the Rainbow Motel once before so knew what we were getting into. You pay for what you get. Both times we've stayed in the room with two queen beds and a small kitchen. It works for our purposes as we don't come to Bend for the lodging. However there are some downsides.
Review 5:this place was a total surprise, as we often stay in motels when we spend the weekend out of town, and we thought that the room was much better than usual, clean and with a very comfy bed
Review 6:The motel is in walking distance to downtown so it's convenient. The rooms are fantastic and clean. We travel from the coast to Bend this time each year and always stay at the Rainbow.
Review 7:This place advertises a free continental breakfast. However they do not provide anything at all.
Review 8:Easy to find and close to all main roads in and out of Bend.
Review 9:Nothing really. It was just a basic place to sleep. Comfortable.
Review 10:Convenient to the location I traveled to each day. To food and shopping. Rustic old Motel that was worth the price I paid.
Review 11:We stayed at two different nights and I liked the rooms facing the back better. On our second stay some late arriving guests made a lot of noise in front of the rooms.
Review 12:Proximity to restaurants and to go to places
Review 13:No coffee maker.
Review 14:We loved the location and surrounding reaturants/shopping. The price fit our budget and was comfortable. We would stay there again.
Review 15:This was advertised as clean & nonsmoking. This place is run down and not well cared for. The beds were uncomfortable. I found the previous customers used soap in the bathroom. The staff were not helpful and I would suggest not staying here
Review 16:The location and kitchen in room
Review 17:We were so pleased with the Rainbow Motel and will stay there again our next trip to Bend. It was very clean, comfortable, quiet, reasonably priced with a convenient location. Perfect for our family.
Review 18:Would have been nice to have instant oatmeal for an option since hot water was available. A little more substantial than a dinky banana muffin.
Review 19:The beds were comfortable. The room was clean and enjoyed the flowers on the table. Even though they were not real, I felt it was a nice touch.
Review 20:'breakfast' is horrible. they poured fake orange drink in a tropicana orange juice bottle and called it orange juice. only had generic cremora for coffee- creamers would be nice.
Review 21:clean and quiet. good location. decent room.
Review 22:Price was very high. Non-smoking room smelled smoky.
Review 23:Location is close to downtown and right off the highway. Close enough walk to downtown and to the Old Mill District including the amphitheater . Owners are the managers and are friendly and helpful. Room was old-fashioned but fairly comfortable.
Review 24:the advertised breakfast included with stay was a joke, worst we have ever had on our trips. very suspicious of other review saying they had a good breakfast here. false advertising
Review 25:location close to city centre
Review 26:Cock roach in my room and the cleaners just ignored me and acted like it wasn't there when I asked them about it.
Review 27:The lady who checked me in was super friendly and nice, the AC worked too well, and it was comfortable. Mini fridge is clutch.
Review 28:The mattress was worn out. No breakfast to speak of so that added to our cost to stay there. There was dried up "stuff" on the nightstand.
Review 29:Great location to everything we wanted to do.
Review 30:When I walked in to register, the smell of curry was overwhelming! The lady spoke broken English & could not recommend good restaurants because she doesn't really go out to eat! The room was clean, but not appealing.
Review 31:Good location, clean
Review 32:Extra pillows, fridge and micro oven in room. Was allowed early check in . Pleasantly surprised . Would recommend to others looking for good budget hotel.
Review 33:Sink was in an odd place, making it a bit awkward with 2 couples but we managed.
Review 34:Nice unit in the back newer building. Very clean and well maintained. Nice grounds with lots of roses and some fruit trees and a little garden. No pets allowed which we liked.
Review 35:Continental breakfast is not worth advertising. Sunny D or powdered orange drink disguised in Tropicana bottle!
Review 36:Close to downtown and highway. Older buildings in front. We stayed in newer one in the back that was much more modern. Refrigerator and microwave in room.
Review 37:No information about towns activities such as "senior games. No maps describing places for activities. No breakfast offered
Review 38:Rooms were clean. Good hot running water
Review 39:It was hot and muggy, and had a funny smell in my room. Also the beds were very hard and you could feel the springs. We came home exhausted because we couldn't sleep well on those beds.
Review 40:It was quiet and clean
Review 41:Few lights had bulbs. One of the two bed lights had no bulb, was unplugged and in poor shape. Missing bulbs in bathroom. No clocks or easily reached outlets. No ice machine was found. New section in back uses electronic keys and that was required to get to the ice machine.
Review 42:I stayed in the old part. Ground floor and right out of the 40's. Desk very friendly and accomodating.Quiet, reasonably clean. Sagging bed very comfortable. Cheapest motel in Bend at this moment and well worth the money.
Review 43:The owner of the motel tried to tell me that it was the fault of thebooking agency that I was double charged. But the agency does not havemy credit card information. Rainbow Inn took my money twice, and liedwhen confronted. Stay away!
Review 44:Leaving
Review 45:We brought our dog and they only have pet rooms in older units in front part of motel. We opted not to stay in that part of motel and went to Sleep Inn and had a wonderful pet room. I will still stay there, just not with a pet.
Review 46:We usually stay in new 2 story unit, and love the nice, new, clean, rooms. For the money, best place to stay in Bend.
Review 47:Shower was mildewed. Maid service didn't vacuum. No coffee maker in-room. No alarm clock.
Review 48:The family who runs this motel is very nice and cheerful.
Review 49:Don't really have anything to complain about.
Review 50:The motel is an easy walk to downtown. The room was pretty spare, but it was very clean. There really isn't much more to it, which is great for the price.
Review 51:I was in their two-story building and my key card got stuck in the outside locking mechanism. Eventually got it out with a little wiggling. The coffee maker wouldn't turn on. Little noisy in the morning with the snow plows going by, but I slept fine through the night.
Review 52:Clean, very clean. Heater worked wonderful, very cold that night. The one-bed-queen room was perfect for one, may be a bit of a squeeze for two. Internet was a little glitchy, but it worked for what I wanted.
Review 53:Not the room we booked and were changed to another but it may have been even worse & still NOT THE ROOM WE BOOKED - heat either on or off; bad cookware (free from flea markets); bitten by fleas (or something); dark, tiny, dirty shower (not spa tub); not extra blankets available
Review 54:Nice, big fridge
Review 55:The room smelled like smoke. I saw there was Wi-Fi but no password was given to connect. Could have called front desk but it was very very late. All in all, room was okay.
Review 56:Very nice staff, great location. Very close to downtown. Fairly clean, big burn hole in one of the chairs. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Nothing fancy whatsoever but happy that the TV was updated and overall, a good value for the money.
Review 57:Breakfast was just packaged muffins at the front office, a little disappointing.
Review 58:Nice room away from the street in the back building. Good location, walkable to downtown. For the money this was a good place
Review 59:Room in back bldg overlooked fenced parking lot for adjacent repair shop, or garage. Worried about possible noise but wasn't anything too loud nor too early. Not a problem
Review 60:Clean, convenient to downtown, quiet, and great value.
Review 61:Continental breakfast only has muffins and coffee. Grab a muffin and coffee and stop down the road for breakfast
Review 62:Typical old motel. Painted up nicely outside, flowers planted. About a 20 min walk to a very nice downtown Bend area. Nice shops and great variety of restaurants. A great value for a night.
Review 63:Advertised as including breakfast which was poor - pastries, coffee and juice in tiny motel office. Would be better to say no meal plan available.
Review 64:A clean quiet budget motel for a one night stay on the outer edge of Bend but within walking distance of the centre and restaurants.
Review 65:The beds were just ok
Review 66:We had a 2 bedroom which was a surprise. I thought it was just 2 queens but the other bed has it's own room. Very spacious. Everything else was average but the rates were cheap!!
Review 67:We booked this reservation through a third party - non refundable, no changes technically allowed. When we had to change the reservation to the next night, due to weather, they were most accommodating and did it cheerfully. Much appreciated!
Review 68:There was a used rag on the floor behind the door. Some black material (mold?) at the base of the door frame. Toilet backed up and desk person was resistant to plunge it and then said to not put toilet paper in the toilet.
Review 69:Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. The area was quiet.
Review 70:They did not live up to contract, two rooms with two beds each were replaced by one queen bed in each room. Upon receiving our objection, they raised the price and gave us one smoking room and one adequate room with two beds in each. Floor was slanted, but bed was shimmed up to level.
Review 71:Location-centrally located for food, highway. TVs, but no remote. AC fan muted train and highway noise. Breakfast that was included in contract was available, though it was a packaged pastry. Coffee was okay, juice was non toxic. Room deficiencies provided never ending subjects for discussion on the way home.
Review 72:TINY room. Barely could walk around beds. Fridge was unplugged. No soap. Tons of dust in air conditioner. Ice only available behind front desk - have to ask for it. Continental breakfast is a joke. Consisted of coffee and few tiny prepackaged pastries (there were only 3). No tables.
Review 73:Firm bed. Parking in front of our door. Quiet.
Review 74:The "continental" breakfast consisted of pastries still wrapped in plastic like they were bought in bulk at a warehouse store....and that was it....along with coffee. Plan on eating breakfast somewhere else.
Review 75:Room was large and clean. There was plenty of parking that was secure.
Review 76:nothing I didn't like
Review 77:Roses planted all over the property, very cute retro surroundings. Good proximity to downtown area of Bend. Soft sheets and pillows, quiet room, lots of TV channels, in room coffee maker, classic older style full bath with ceramic tub, giant room. I highly recommend the restaurant Pho Viet Café on Hwy 97.
Review 78:Breakfast was really nothing to write home about
Review 79:well located withing walking distance to the center of town. Clean with all basic facilities. Friendly and helpful staff - owners
Review 80:Very friendly and helpful staff - felt like a proper family-run business. Spotless room in new extension. Great value for money Easy walking distance of downtown.
Review 81:Walls are paper thin, cold hear people talking next door. My special treat was a constantly crying babe.
Review 82:Clean and neat, with nice TV, microwave and fridge.
Review 83:The air conditioner was adequate for the main room, but it didn't get much coolness to the back bedroom. Had to keep air on longer to get some relief from the heat back to that part of the room, those in the main room were overly cool as a result.
Review 84:Full kitchen including stove and full size refrigerator. Also had pots and pans and silverware and dishes. Had 2 beds in separate rooms.
Review 85:Front desk was friendly & helpful. Reserved a 'quiet' room and it was. The room was comfortable and had all the overnight amenities needed -- small frig, microwave, & coffee maker. Also had a nice 32" flat panel TV. It was a warm & humid weekend but the room had a powerful AC unit & kept it nice & cool. Bed was very firm yet surprisingly comfortable. Conveniently close to downtown, six block walk. Affordable rate for Summer Festival weekend. Would stay here again.
Review 86:Room key card a little difficult to use.
Review 87:Location and value. If you are looking for an inexpensive, clean and comfortable room this is the place. Walk to downtown restaurants, bars and shops. If you prefer spa/resort type accommodations look elsewhere. Will look there first if I ever return to Bend.
Review 88:dodgy underpass on the way to downtown, awful coffee, breakfast pastries only, cheap and nasty towels
Review 89:walking distance to downtown, clean, easy parking, reasonable rates
Review 90:Small bathroom and drafty
Review 91:Clean, quiet, good location
Review 92:Great place to jog into town and then along the river during your stay.
Review 93:I liked the price, cleanliness, quietness! All three points are very important. Both of us got a good night's sleep which we really needed!
Review 94:Close to downtown.
Review 95:Really enjoyed the whirlpool bathtub in the room. Was a welcome treat after a long day of traveling.

Review 115:Location and friendliness of owners and staff.
Review 116:Very clean and quiet. Nice comfy bed. Cheaper than most any other place during busy tourist season. Nice staff.
Review 117:Great location, super cute hotel. Our room was like a two bedroom apartment with a kitchenette.
Review 118:Really liked this hotel, we found a great bar just up the road
Review 119:Walking distance to downtown. Very clean. Quiet!
Review 120:Good value for the money. Close for walking to key spots. Owners very friendly. Very quiet.
