Reviews for Sea Air Inn

Review 1:Morning sex was apparently the thing I experienced from both sides of my neighbors. No sound proofing at all so heard every moan and banging from the headboards. TV sound from the room adjacent was overwhelming causing me to turn volume up which I'm sure annoyed others but what else could cover up the sound from both adjoins rooms.

Review 2:The location was perfect, staff great and newly remodeled.

Review 3:The location was great, within walking distance of Embarcadero and the great restaurants there. The room was clean and the wifi was fast. Don't expect fancy. It was just right for me.

Review 4:Room was nice, modern. The only downfall would be that the walls are very thin and could use a more comfortable bed.

Review 5:Great location. Short walk to all the restaurants and shops.

Review 6:Staff can be more courteous Breakfast was a joke ( some muffins, pastries cereal with juice and milk in fridge. )

Review 7:Location was good Rooms were clean We were stopping over for 1 night so fit the bill

Review 8:Walls seemed thin. We just put some soft music on our iPhone on and it was fine.

Review 9:During the week between Christmas and New Year many places raise their prices dramatically. We decided that since we were only going to be sleeping in the room... out all day enjoying the coast, we'd opt for a less expensive option. This fit the bill nicely. Not luxurious... just basic, clean and neat with a very nice location.

Review 10:breakfast was included which was nice, however it would be good to have some fruit or non-sugary items.

Review 11:great location, great value for money. can easily walk down to the water or up to the main street for dining etc.

Review 12:My normal US complaint. No tea making facilities.

Review 13:Place, facilities, quite, cosy, close to everything. A welcomeing reception. Easy to get breakfast close by.

Review 14:If I have a complaint it would be that there was not an iron in the room.

Review 15:Everything. The room was very comfortable and clean. There was crown molding in the bedroom and though the bathroom was small it was arranged nicely. There was a full closet with a full mirror and a small table with two comfortable chairs. There were steps to up to the balcony where one could enjoy the ocean view and the sunset.

Review 16:Breakfast is minimal - dry cereal, muffins/sweet rolls, juice, milk and coffee.

Review 17:Excellent location, a short walk from the Embarcadero. Newly remodeled rooms and total property, a very nice upgrade. Good value for price on a winter Sun. night.

Review 18:Wall heater goes on and off all the time. Impossible to sleep. Very little water pressure. You can't really call it breakfast. Terrible to no internet.

Review 19:Large room and well located.

Review 20:All hotels in Morro Bay are wildly overpriced. I have booked three and even four star hotels in London and Paris for less, and they had slightly to considerably better accommodations. The Sea Air is very expensive relative to what one receives for the money. However, this will of course continue so long as travelers are willing to pay the rates. For the price the staff could also be friendlier.

Review 21:The room was very clean and everything worked well. The bed was a typical, very clean, well-made, stiff hotel bed.

Review 22:Not in bad shape overall but could use just a bit of updating.

Review 23:Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff and a fantastic view of the bay and Morro Rock. We also loved the location. An easy walk to shopping and dining.

Review 24:They came banging on the door in the morning telling us we had to move our car cuz they were repaving the parking lot. Phone. Use the phone! Would not have stayed there had they informed us on check-in. Then my husband had to carry our luggage a distance. They weren't even sorry.

Review 25:Decent

Review 26:There was other hotels who offered other benefits, like free beach cruiser rentals which is just an added perk.

Review 27:Staff was excellent and really helped us out. We ended up getting there really late and they were great about it. Overall we were happy, really happy, just not ecstatic, but would recommend this hotel. :)

Review 28:Our room key opened another's room door, when we went to wrong room in error. Little scary, staff didn't seemed concerned.

Review 29:Love the location. The rooms are updated & clean.

Review 30:Even though late check-out was mentioned as an option, I was told I couldn't have a late check-out despite staying Saturday to Sunday. It was very frustrating to handle. For the price I paid I expect at least semi-decent toiletries in the room - don't expect conditioner or soap that actually lathers.

Review 31:Parking was very easy. Plenty of spots in the lot. Location is fantastic - less than a block away from some of the best restaurants in town.

Review 32:Looked like it was being upgraded, information said it had a bath tub, but only had a small shower. Breakfast that was included was a continental type, danishes, cold cereal, orange juice, and coffee, hot water for tea.

Review 33:Close to major restaurants and shops

Review 34:Bed hard and uncomfortable,

Review 35:Location, free parking, coffee microwave and refrigerator offered in the room, room recently remodeled, everything very clean

Review 36:Parking is very tight. Breakfast not sure I would call it Continental...mini muffins, oj, milk and cereal. The room itself could have been cleaner.

Review 37:Location is not bad, easy walk to downtown and shopping. Awesome consignment store across the street as well as Dorns Café.

Review 38:The room was clean, staff was nice and the location was good. My only call out is that they didn't take into account the little things like a soap dish inside the shower or a shelf to put your shampoo and razar on inside the shower. We had to put everything on the floor outside of the shower. There also wasn't an iron or ironing board in the room. Finally the cable went out and when I called for assistance I was told it would take a while to fix it. It's the small things that make an impression.

Review 39:Location. Location. Location.

Review 40:The bathroom is too tiny, vanity counter about 20 degree slope. Did the best they could with the space.

Review 41:Jr king suite #107. Furnishings good. Room clean. Tight space but they fit everything in nicely. Newer paint and crown moulding nice touches. Updated furniture, shower enclosure. A/C old fashioned but worked great. Important to us.Close to stairs just above Embarcadero. Ready on time.

Review 42:Office personnel were the rudest and most unprofessional people I have delt with. They yelled at me and told me I did not have a reservation.after 20 minutes he found it right on his counter. I will never return.

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:Two people in the room not enough toiletries bed uncomfortable too noisy walls are thin pillows were cheap and thin never will stay there again

Review 45:It was near the water which was nice and shops

Review 46:Substandard construction and materials. Noisy all night long, footsteps above never stopped. Rooms were small and cramped. Very few amenities like tissue in the room.

Review 47:Location was close to the park.

Review 48:Booked the room on booking.com for $69 but was charged $74. Milk was lumpy at breakfast so gave that a miss.

Review 49:Rooms were nice good quality fittings, marble bathrooms, lots of closet space. Coffee machine and fridge in room was good. Shops near by, easy walk to seafront

Review 50:The breakfast wasn't very inspiring or imaginative but I suppose that's what you get with the price.

Review 51:It has a good location with easy access to shops and restaurants. Good parking facility and pretty good rooms.

Review 52:Very loud! The walls are so thin, i think they are made by paper. You hear when your neighbor listen TV, go to the toilet or talk to loud or snores.

Review 53:The rooms are clean, parking situation is perfect and for free.

Review 54:Misleading reviews and advertisement.First the advertisement said youcan check in until 11. We had to race down because over the phone theytold us 10. We had a 3 hour drive. The room was dirty. I had to clean itmyself. There was hairs and stains in the sheets. There was also a urinesmell. I went to the store for cleaning supplies and had to clean thetub because that was where the smell came from. I am pretty sure therewas urine in the tub. We didn't use the shower. We also could notsleep because the people above us walked around until 2 A.M. and whereup at 6 A.M. everyday and you can hear everything from walking tocoughing to snoring....like they are in your room. We really didn'thave many options given we already paid and it was a busy weekend. Ithink we should at least be compensated for half of our stay (it wouldbe the right thing to do on the motels part) because it was prettymiserable and disappointing on our first wedding anniversary.

Review 55:The location.

Review 56:Room given to us at first was still dirty. Had to go back and get a new room. The guy at the front was quick to change it out and it was only a mild hassle.

Review 57:Person who helped me wasn't helpful. He was in a hurry to get back to sleep. Arrived aproximately 11:00. No parking available on property. Didn"t tell me where my room was located.

Review 58:Remodeled rooms

Review 59:The water in the bathtub didn't drain very well. Our coffee pot was broken.

Review 60:The motel was in a good location and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Review 61:Bed was very hard, no breeze from window, because the windows slide sideways from left to right and curtains slide from center. Mentioned on website breakfast provided. It was only cereal, donuts & coffee. Wasn't even a continental breakfast. Also the water tasted like algae.

Review 62:Close to downtown and view was okay.

Review 63:Stayed in 2 bedroom family suite which was wildly misrepresented in online pics, Rude staff rude, shower didn't work, beds uncomfortable, TV way too loud, unable to set TV at reasonable volume due to technical issue, breakfast was a joke, and hotel cost was way overpriced...The whole experience was just awful.. Both thumbs down!!

Review 64:The wifi signal never did get strong enough to download emails orrefresh Facebok.

Review 65:The room was very well appointed considering the label 'motel'.Breakfast, although simple did the job. I thought it was excellentconsidering we only paid $65.

Review 66:The desk clerk was going through the motions, not friendly or unfriendly. The lobby was dingy and kinda dirty so that was a red flag. Too late to back out though. The room was in the first floor. Smelled bad and was dusty and didn't feel clean. A light bulb was out in the bathroom. Toilet paper and Kleenex was the cheapest kind you could get. Very harsh. We were there visiting family just for one night so we figured we could make do. Luckily we had some wipes to clean things up, bet there were germs everywhere. When we were in bed the person above us was stomping around. We were hoping they would be quiet later as this was already after 9 pm. A little after 11 pm I was jolted awake by more stomping and this went on periodically all through the night. I tried to call front desk but no one answered. At around 6 am I noticed the door was open up above and yelled at them after having a frustrating and sleepless night. They just stomped more. I highly doubt if I had been nice they would've stopped either. Regardless, between the noise and the filth I will never stay here again. Horrible place!

Review 67:The location

Review 68:The room was a bit shabby and not very clean. There is an unpleasant smell of an old building. Towels old.

Review 69:Location is good, close to the beach, restaurants.

Review 70:Reception staff incredibly grumpy and difficult to deal with. Also, could not get the shower to work so the family all had bath :(

Review 71:2 bedrooms for family stay. close to restaurants and beach. clean comfortable room.

Review 72:Too high of priced for the facility. Furniture was stained and poor quality. There was a bad smell in the room. No parking, had to park down the street. Not stocked with enough towels, soap, etc. Just an overall disappointment.

Review 73:Nothing!!!!

Review 74:Wish there had been an ironing board and iron. I have stayed in a few hotels over the past 5 years and all have had an iron and ironing board in every room.

Review 75:The location was perfect!! Our view was awesome!!

Review 76:Check in person, 'breakfast' offering, WiFi sloooooowwwwk

Review 77:Way overpriced for the service and amenities. This is an $89/night type of hotel.

Review 78:The staff, owner, was extremely rude,we spent our 2nd night at the fireside inn across the road, staff or owner very friendly and helpful. I would never stay in or recommend the sea air inn to anybody

Review 79:Location and comfort

Review 80:Super cute facility, great staff that was so friendly even with out 10pm checkin, the place was very clean and tidy. Felt very safe in the clean sheets and bathroom.

Review 81:It appears to be a remodeled Motel 6; breakfast was extremely poor; wifi was intermittent; won't stay here again.

Review 82:The only thing was location, but there are other hotels in the same location.

Review 83:Owner wouldn't let us pay for a late check out. Very small, modest rooms. Noisy.

Review 84:Location is convenient. You can park your car there and Morro Bay is at your feet. They remodeled it and there are fridges and microwaves in the room.

Review 85:Rom was smelly, tue Guy at the Registration was a little bit drunken but friendly, the wifi didnt work and the breakfast was only a joke! A fridge and a Table with 3 chairs next to the registrationlobby...

Review 86:Rom was renovated.

Review 87:- the wifi problem: before midnight, too many people use it and the speed is very low. - everything else was great

Review 88:- nice rooms for little money - very nice beds - you can hear the sea lions singing when falling asleep - breakfast is basic, that is continental, but good!

Review 89:The location was walking distance to great shops, restaurants, as well as local establishments. When the tourist area closes up you could walk to the adorable movie theater to catch the latest movie.

Review 90:See above

Review 91:Boxes and trash pile up out side of office??? Really they couldn't take them to a dumpster??? Breakfast was 2 different Danish and coffee? No fruit is this place in CA Or Indiana ? Room was a nice upgrade clean Neat and bright but our blanket under bed spread looked like it just came out of a garage Sale 20 years ago rest of room was clean neat And nice but the soap was horrible ???

Review 92:The wall was too thin. I can hear the people next door talking and having sex like they were in the bedroom. The blankets and were old.

Review 93:The room was clean. Everything works.

Review 94:Our only real complaint was how thin the walls were. We could clearly hear the family next door (their regular voice level conversations, night time snoring, etc.). We are usually deep sleepers but were on the ground floor and woke up to the ceiling sounding like it was going to cave in. The people in the room above us were walking back and forth getting ready for the day early in the morning and the extremely loud stomping and creaking sounds caused us to get up two hours before our alarm. We could even hear their blow dryer going. Lastly, the breakfast was just cold cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee, and a few store bought pastries. If you stay here, I would recommend staying on the top floor. Even though the bed was comfortable and clean, I suggest staying somewhere else if you hope to get some sleep.

Review 95:Overall the Sea Air Inn was ok for our last minute one night stay. We were looking for a decent price close to everything for a Friday night and most places were booked or over $200. Our room was small but clean and somewhat updated. This was fine with us since we only really planned to sleep here.

Review 96:Lady at office not very friendly, felt very inconvenienced when asking for something. Could update blankets , bedspreads! Wifi and cable on and off.

Review 97:The husband was very gracious and welcoming, location was great . The place was ok .nice parking , bathroom updates were nice

Review 98:Family room we got. Would have been better off with 2 rooms as then would have enjoyed 2 bathrooms - for the same price pretty much. I guess I now know why the breakfast was included in the price - pretty much nothing offered. TV didn't work in one of the rooms. Upon arrival to pick up the key, we get told that after 10 pm, if the key demagnetizes, then we're in trouble - as the desk will be closed! That sounded reassuring.

Review 99:The price/quality ratio is completely out of line. Rooms are redone, but very poor sound absorption. The fact that they dare to mention that breakfast is offered (just some cereal) is a big joke

Review 100:Morro Bay is a nice little town to spend some days. The Rock and the sea life (sea lions, sea otters), but spend it in a better hotel

Review 101:The room was not as pictured on booking .com. The reservation page we printed said "breakfast provided". We weren't sure what that entailed, so when I inquired at the office, I rang the bell for office help, the woman that appeared acted put out that I had disturbed her. She told me that it was a centennial breakfast. There was a microwave, a small counter, a small table with four chairs. This was the breakfast area.

Review 102:The bed was not comfortable. My wife and I had a hard time sleeping.

Review 103:We had a great view of the ocean from our window and it was a short walk to the shops and restaurants.

Review 104:The wifi was very spotty. Cable wiring was previously rigged and would work 50% of the time.

Review 105:Nice view of the bay from our window. Room was as described.

Review 106:We looked at the reviews and was not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprise. It was a great location. We thought it was clean and fulfilled our needs. We were happy!

Review 107:Mattress was cheap, wifi was very weak. No typical hotel info in room and phone. Called the hotel on cell and the night guy who answered said read the info on line wifi password he did give me and the guy was on the rude side.

Review 108:The room was nice and clean, nice TV but no HD.

Review 109:Not a terrible place to stay but really you don't get what you pay for...had significantly better accommodations at a boutique hotel in downtown San Francisco at a cheaper price.

Review 110:My cellphone was out and i needed to make an emergency call. They sent me to a corner store three blocks away to buy a prepaid phone card at 10.30 pm...impossible to make an internationnal call back to Canada with their phone line.

Review 111:The room is newly renovated.

Review 112:the room was called a suite and it was not a suite. Dirty laundry was left outside near our room during the day which was disgusting. The man at the desk was not the nicest of people. The bed was a brick,

Review 113:Excellent location walking distance to everything

Review 114:bed was extremely hard. Bath soap took awhile to start lathering.

Review 115:location was fairly close to main area near ocean. we had to climb two stories of stairs to get down to ocean level which were about a block from hotel.

Review 116:They need to put weather striping around the doors so you can't see the light coming in. Also make the rooms more sound proof. I could hear the guy next door to me snoring at night. They also could use a better quality mattress, as mine was not comfortable at all.

Review 117:The location is great. Within walking distances of all the shops and great places to eat, and the of course the water and wildlife.

Review 118:Everything was great.i just wish we were charged the price that was stated when we booked the room. I felt it was a bit misleading. It was still a good price though.

Review 119:Location was perfect and room was great. We liked that we didn't have to call for extra pillows because they were already provided along with extra blanket in the closet.

Review 120:Great location. A lot of money for our little room, but it was 4th of July weekend. Only bad thing was the bed. Cheap mattress that squeaked when you breathed.

Review 121:Location was perfect!!

Review 122:The bedfing was fresh, but the matresses looked very worn. The bathroom window did not lick. The shower was very small with no tub!

Review 123:Very convenient location. Within walking distance of all the attractions, boutiques, restaraunts. Newly remodeled.

Review 124:Breakfast provided in the reception area. Needs improvement. I can't say that I was not expecting this from previous experiences in other motels. Restaurants around closes at 21:00 so manage your time.

Review 125:Staff was very nice. Room very accommodating.

Review 126:Walls very thin. Heard everything our neighbors were saying. Breakfast cereal and nominal pastries. Not really much to call breakfast.

Review 127:Was a nice room and the beds were comfortable. Easy in and out.

Review 128:The price was different then advertised, the front desk was argumentative when asked for a major favor and we had no hot water in the morning.

Review 129:The location is great, a short walk to the best restaurants and the waterfront.

Review 130:Pillows flat and lumpy. Walkways needed cleaning.

Review 131:Junior suite very clean and roomy. Needs more furniture. An additional mirror would be helpful. View from 123 was fabulous!

Review 132:Walls/floors very thin. In a downstairs room, heard neighbors every move. Mini fridge noisy. Bath soap hard to lather.

Review 133:2 blocks above center of Embarcadero. Room was clean and well serviced.

Review 134:Next time will stay on second floor. We could hear the upstairs occupants walking around, hear their TV, hear them talking and showering! Very noisy but otherwise very nice and clean.

Review 135:Soft sheets. Close to shops and eating. Walking distance to beach

Review 136:The lobby looked pretty dirty, was unattended most of the time & I didn't want to eat anything from there.

Review 137:After the lobby, I appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms themselves.

Review 138:The coffee maker was dirty, the bed was terribly noisy, the internet connection was spotty and I could hear everything going on in the rooms around me. I could deal with those things, and wouldn't have complained, except.....I had a terrible restless sleep, and got up early to start packing up. As I went to tuck in my son, who is 4 and was sharing a bed with me noticed a long black hair on the sheets which was not mine as it is short & light brown. When I pulled them back further, I noticed other hairs near my son that were not belonging to either of us and super gross! I pulled back the top sheet further and to my dismay, there was a small brownish reddish seed, that upon further inspection, turned out to be a bug! I checked my son for others, threw him in the car, and tried to get the manager to come over and see what I was talking about because, A. I thought he should know if he had bed bugs in his place, and B.I paid $100 to stay there and I was hoping he would give me a refund once I showed him what I meant. I was not confrontational, nor am I large or intimidating. He refused to come out and see what I was talking about, instead, he acted really strangely like I was trying to rob him. I used to work at a hotel and if a guest had a problem with something in the room, we woukd send someone to take a look at it. It was early, 5:30 a.m., but it was the morning, not in the middle of the night or something sketchy. The whole experience was a bummer and super awkward and all I can say is I would never recommend the place especially if they have a bug infestation!

Review 139:The location. The decor looks okay at first glance.

Review 140:Restaurants closed around 8-9. We drove to luis obispo for dinner and late night drinks.

Review 141:The hotel was easy to find and pretty clean. It felt safe. It's a easy walk to Main Street for coffee in the morning.
