Reviews for Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf
Review 1:The parking on site at the hotel was so expensive. $50 per night. We had hired a car and had to park at their off site parking garage a few blocks around the corner for $32 a night because finding parking was just so difficult and expensive. I guess that's San Francisco for you though.
Review 2:The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the free wifi was great, and the help yourself to honeydew and rockmelon water in the lobby was also a lovely bonus. Didn't get a chance to look at the pool, but the gym was great, plenty of equipment.
Review 3:Parking is a bit expensive; pillows seemed poorly made and not very comfortable.
Review 4:Very close to tourist attractions; welcoming staff and inviting lobby area; good, casual restaurant on site.
Review 5:A bit over-priced like other hotels in the Wharf area. But I believe this is because of its good location.
Review 6:- Friendly sttafs - Good location - Clean - The North Beach area is much safer than the downtown, ie Union Square and Civic Centre. - I will again choose this hotel next time.
Review 7:I was surprised to see my bill at the end of my trip. The nightly fees were much higher than they said they would be when I booked my stay.
Review 8:It was a very nice hotel I felt pampered.
Review 9:That we only had one night booked here :( (we would definitely go again and stay longer).
Review 10:We stayed at the Hyatt after a very busy two week travel around America and it was perfect! I felt completely relaxed during my stay :) The bed was really comfortable and the room/bathroom was really clean. I really liked the TV where we were able to order room service. The price was amazing and the hotel is in easy walking distance to everything including the cable cars which is just around the corner. I just wanted to mention that Effie on reception made us feel really welcome! Effie went above and beyond helping us with transport to the airport and printing our flight tickets :)
Review 11:Seems they are under staffed, always answering the phone whilst your checking in, not enough tea bags or cups in the room. Rooms are basic, very expensive for what it is. Needs updating, dirty vent above the shower and noisy air conditioning. Hotel didn't mention they were renovating too, can be noisy at the breakfast area.
Review 12:Location
Review 13:Everything was fine, but the drain in sink and tub ran a little slow.
Review 14:The Hyatt was a great location! Close to everything or transportation to get there. Rooms were very nice and friendly staff.
Review 15:unbelievable................THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCESS TO PRINT OFF BOARDING PASSES AFTER PAYING TOURIST RATES FOR YOUR HOTEL. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
Review 16:Pool (very salty & cold) Service in bar/restaurant (VERY rude & unfriendly server)
Review 17:Room Location Wifi Staff (all except one in bar/restaurant)
Review 18:the bed was very uncomfortable and the lack of bath supplies : we had to take time to ask for shower get and even for the towel for the 4th person ! We understand Hyatt us trying to save but forthe price we paid we hope not to take care of doing housekeeping for our room !
Review 19:The breakfast and the service staff at breakfast were extremely nice and courteous (Wilfredo and Digna) made breakfast a great experience
Review 20:There is only one elevator by the lobby/registration desk and 3 on the lower level. So if you have a heavy suitcase and you take the lower level elevator, too bad you have to take the stairs coz the escalator is only going down.
Review 21:Location was great. Not in the busy section. Only 3/4 blocks away from the pier, shopping, entertainment, restaurants. The staff are very courteous and polite.
Review 22:bath tub was not that clean, it's kinda pricy because we check in at midnight, but still counts as full day
Review 23:Friendliness of staffs, late check out(1:30PM), location is pretty good, walking discount to piers
Review 24:bed - mattress (difficult to sleep on) repairs going on in rooms a round ours - was told that all repairs were done. Started at 8 am every day.
Review 25:cleanness - location - spa/pool
Review 26:The beds were hard, sheets scratchy. There was a baby crying most of the night in the room next door. Construction everywhere. Just didn't feel cozy.
Review 27:Location was close to Alcatraz, so suited our purposes. Room service was fast.
Review 28:My best friend booked the room for my husband and I as a wedding gift (we were married the night before we checked in). She made sure they knew it was a special occasion but the hotel did nothing special for us. Kind of disappointing.
Review 29:The location was within walking distance of all the Fisherman's Wharf attractions. The room and view were both nice as well.
Review 30:Place is a maze - very large floors with only 2 working lifts Currently renovating, so dust and inconvenient Rooms were ok, but not $450USD a night OK. Better options elsewhere
Review 31:Close to fisherman wharf, Close to Tram
Review 32:When I booked, it wasn't mentioned the hotel was under construction...pretty disappointing. Had some loud noise, temporary entrance & check-in area, dirty hallways, no lounge or restaurant access, etc. Not the hotel experience I expected.
Review 33:The location is good for Fisherman's Wharf, staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 34:Where do we start. When we tried to check in, they did not have our reservation in their system. I had a confirmation # but it never transferred to the Hyatt reservation system. Bookin.com you need to figure this out. Then the hotel was under construction and we didn't know it. It was not disclosed anywhere prior to making our reservation on booking.com. It was a maze navigating through the hotel , there was no restaurant in the hotel and the construction noise was unbearable in our room. Impossible to maintain a wifi connection.
Review 35:Centrally located and could walk everywhere. Staff was very friendly and apologetic about all the issues we endured. It will be great once construction is completed.
Review 36:They were renovating the main lobby which was described in a notice, but they failed to mention they were also working on the room floors. There was construction noise as early as 7:30am up until around 5pm. There was dust, had to walk on plastic wrap, had to walk around workers, floor amenities were blocked off due to the construction. They only have 3 elevators, all in the same location. Construction eventually expanded and blocked one elevator so the entire place was relying on two elevators that were slow. The room overall was disappointing. Some stains on sheets, broken and scraped up furniture, the door handle to our bathroom was very loose and felt like it was ready to fall off. Even the remote for the TV was a hassle. It uses a roller ball to move a cursor on the screen but most of the time the tracker ball wouldn't actually track. We didn't spend much time in the room but when we did, we were less than happy.
Review 37:The location is excellent, 2 blocks from Fishermans Wharf, one block from a cable car location, a few blocks to Ghirardelli square. Made getting around really easy. The general room service was excellent, they always cleaned the room up very well.
Review 38:I was never told the hotel is under going a complete room renovation, consequently the front door was hard to find. We had to move our room because the new carpet smell was overpowering. There is free wifi, but the free version is difficult to locate.
Review 39:Location, staff
Review 40:I didn't care for the dusty stained desk, the pillows were hollow and the sheets wreaked of bleach (granted I am glad they use it to clean the sheets, but the smell should not burn your eyes). Lastly, I think charging a fee for internet is ridiculous.
Review 41:I loved the location and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 42:- We could hear the people next door while they were having normal conversation. - The sound of traffic was very loud at night while trying to sleep - called front desk for a tooth brush. it was never delivered.
Review 43:location
Review 44:Facilities are old and need paint. Staff is rude and charged for use of umbrella WiFi and parking is ridiculous, especially with the cost of the room.
Review 45:The location.
Review 46:Aging hotel. Under renos so some facilities were unavailable. No tubs in the king rooms, just showers.
Review 47:Great location, two blocks from the wharf. Friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms.
Review 48:They lost our reservation and after 2 hours of San Francisco gridlock I had to spend another half hour in the lobby trying to get checked in. Valet parking was full, staff not overly friendly and despite my father calling ahead to make sure that his card was the one that as charged as he was paying for our honeymoon, they still needed our credit card and charged us 50$. Parked 5 blocks away and had to walk my luggage ridiculously far.
Review 49:Proximity to fishermans wharf, nice shower, nice pillows.
Review 50:Great location 2 min walk to pier 39 but go other way up to Scomas too!! nice clean room, loved pool & spa after walking all day, expensive but so is all decent SF accommodation and we experienced only excellent customer service.
Review 51:We had to pay extra money for everything we did. Parking, wifi, breakfast. Extras are vey expensive! Parking per day us$50, WIFI us$15. The valet parking was very expensive and the service was terrible. Same as breakfast service.
Review 52:Hotel facities. Excelente location. Nice rooms.
Review 53:No real hotel bar, only Knuckles, a sports bar. No atmosphere. Elevator from lobby level was out of order the entire time of our visit. Heavy bags had to be lifted up stairs to get to lobby. At "peak" times, there was a line of people for the elevator. There were no stairs available (emergency only). Hotel as a whole looks in need of upgrade.
Review 54:Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is good.
Review 55:did not have a bad experience
Review 56:location and helpfulness of staff
Review 57:Small tub area. Tub wouldn't hold water
Review 58:Location close for walking to shops
Review 59:Only Bad experience is the Room we got was too far from the Guest List
Review 60:Location was good
Review 61:Hotel is a square (four sides) building, but only one side has lift.
Review 62:Location, staffs are friendly
Review 63:Location and cleanliness
Review 64:Staff, concierge awesome laundry on our floor level convenient location was awesome close to fishermans wharf- lots to see and restaurants.
Review 65:Our car got broken into and the hotel didn't give us free room or pay for all parking
Review 66:Bad service
Review 67:No thing
Review 68:there were not sufficient beds at the pool
Review 69:location was excellent for fishermans wharf
Review 70:The room was too small for the price.
Review 71:The bathroom was nice.
Review 72:did not like waking up to construction going on outside my window and room next door
Review 73:clean, friendly and helpful service
Review 74:need bars in shower. Our tub floor had some dirty-looking places.
Review 75:Near everything
Review 76:The staff were great, we really enjoyed the stay
Review 77:Staff, facilities, food, prices.
Review 78:Didn't
Review 79:Room need renovated, room cleaning staff need to be more professionals. No free internet.
Review 80:The location of the hotel.
Review 81:WiFi should be free. If Starbucks can so it, so can you. The room is very expenaive and the WiFi should be included.
Review 82:Quiet rooms.
Review 83:The location so near major attractions .
Review 84:Pool was very small and unattractive.
Review 85:Good food. Location!
Review 86:some staffs rudeness
Review 87:$50 overnight parking
Review 88:No complimentary breakfast
Review 89:I got update an upgrade to the room with best view.
Review 90:Noisy room Bathroom, stereo and other items in poor repair Poor bell, valet service Forced to use cumbersome automated room service via TV Room service breakfast not received correct
Review 91:Good location
Review 92:Small restaurant, too busy, went to the street. No cable internet! Only wifi..was very slow. Woman at front desk didn't have a good mood..
Review 93:Location is fine, very close to Pier 39, but quiet street! Girl at coffee bar was very friendly! And they have nice food, fruit and beverages. Room and bed are comfortable and big enough.
Review 94:Our rooms were on the street side, you could hear every single car passing by. Fortunately, there is almost no traffic at night. For Hyatt standards, the noise-isolation is very poor!
Review 95:The location is perfect, close to all day-trips. Very convenient!
Review 96:Street noise in middle of night (emptying bins , street cleaners). Corridor carpets not vacuumed. Cheap window covers. No fridge.
Review 97:Good bed, TV, coffee facilities
Review 98:Due to a convention in town, rate was high ($299). But that's San Francisco.
Review 99:Large rooms. If you want to stay by Fisherman's Wharf, good location. I personally prefer downtown area.
Review 100:Staff very helpful. Concierge gave us a great restaurant recommendation and helped us decide on transportation back to the airport. Excellent location! Beds were very comfortable. The hot chocolate on a chilly evening was a nice touch.
Review 101:Unlike Hyatt's I have stayed in Asia, I think this may be the casewith most hotels in usa. Having status as a gp member did not reallyprovide any extra privileges.Lack of concierge help, this property does not seem like a Hyatt, very disappointing. I chose it because of the pool and my Hyatt status. There was a water dripping noise in my bathroom, sound proofing was inadequate from street and also room exterior corridor. There are many more hotels on this street, Holiday Inn Express is right opposite, Holiday Inn, Marriott is around the corner, so if there are cheaper options nearby, I would suggest that as this was not worth paying for.
Review 102:Location is just 5 minutes from Fishermen's Wharf, Taylor/Baycable car turnaround, plenty of cafes, starbucks, walgreens and manyother options nearby. The bed is very comfortable.
Review 103:Pricy...no free wifi..even had to pay for bottle of water...rooms need updating...bathroom tub tiles looked moldy surrounding tub...furniture dinged and old...certainly not what we expected from a Hyatt hotel ...totally disappointed.
Review 104:Problems checking in, we had booked a king size bed but were given a room with 2 double beds, we had to argue with staff to get transferred to king room, rooms need to be updated they are looking run down
Review 105:Good location, quiet
Review 106:$52 for parking when you are already paying over $300 for a room is a bit steep. Our room was not ready when it was promised so we had to leave our luggage with the bell captain. When we arrived back at the hotel, it took close to an hour to get our luggage and then one of our suitcases was missing. The bellman definitely retrieved it fairly quickly.
Review 107:We liked the proximity to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39.
Review 108:The sliding bathroom door. No fan in the bathroom. Sink in the Bathroom. Drain in the bathroom. Privacy curtain was difficult to lower.
Review 109:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 110:The furniture, especially the bed in my room was run down and shouldhave been replaced a while ago.
Review 111:The staff was friendly and accomodating especially after there was aproblem with my room and they tried to make sure the rest of my staywas better.
Review 112:Reception staff could do with some refinement with communication... However The African American tall gentleman saved our opinionof the hotel
Review 113:Location was excellent, bed very comfortable, clean
Review 114:The elevators needed servicing/upgrading. They are the slowest in the world. As there is no mini bar, customers must use vending machines on each floor for soda and water. Two of these were inoperative. A minor inconvenience but something not expected from a hotel carrying the Hyatt name
Review 115:Great service. Helpful staff
Review 116:I definitely don't like the sink! It is too shallow that both me and my friend have to be very careful to prevent the water from spilling out!
Review 117:I love the stuff at the hotel, and they are super nice and friendly. I also love the location and the convenience. It is a little bit expensive though. I also love the TV set. It is so high-tech and fancy.
Review 118:Average food quality and choice at breakfast Noisy housekeeping onsunday early morning Slightly expensive for the standing
Review 119:Location Size of the room
Review 120:Charged me triple for staying one night, and I am still trying to resolve. Some staff at restaurant rude and not enough on the menu. Also shower was dirty.
Review 121:The staff was a huge disappointment. I checked in with highexpectations. Upon check in, the front desk staff was ok. There seem tobe a lot of insecure woman at the front desk with the attitude Ireceived. I wanted to double check on my room, and make sure everythingwas set before going upstairs from the bar , and the woman told me theydidn't charge my card correctly. Fine, I let her swipe it again eventhough her co worker clearly told her the other woman did it already. Iprepaid for one night and the second night only costed $183. a day aftercheck out, I find the hotel charged almost $800 on my credit card. Icalled immediately. After speaking to multiple people, and getting adifferent story every time, I was finally passed on to their accounting"manager" Mercado. Mercado doesn't even know his ownpolicies, while I actually educated myself with the policy of HyattHotels, he just gave me the run around. He is useless. I'm shockedto even know he's a manager. He has no customer service skills andbetter yet no knowledge of the hotel. Want better service? Go around thecorner to the Hilton. Customer beware: keep track of your credit cardcharges if you stay at this hotel.
Review 122:The hotel is clean. The location is great.
Review 123:$5 water charge. Charge for Wifi - who does that these days!. Didn'thave our reservation recorded - that goodness for paper trails!
Review 124:Location was fabulous. Hotel was nice. Got us checked right in. Staffwas friendly.
Review 125:They don' t have free wifi in the rooms, if you want to connect wifi you need to go to lobby area, there is only 4 seats in the lobby. Our telephone wasn't working and they couln't fixed it up The design was old Air conditioning was working so noisy that we couldn't sleep and had to close it. Hotel doesn't reserve to have 4 stars it looks like 3 star hotel.
Review 126:The location
Review 127:Walls too thin!! Woken up two nights in a row by loud guests. Parking is pricey, like all hotels in the area.
Review 128:Beautifully designed, clean, large and modern rooms, great location, friendly staff.
Review 129:nothing
Review 130:Awesome facility, terrific staff, spotlessly clean. Our second trip to this location, it was even better than the first trip.
Review 131:Bathroom was not clean- room not very appealing.
Review 132:Location was great.
Review 133:food, elevators, room furniture
Review 134:location, cleanliness, friendly staff
Review 135:- nothing
Review 136:- location - rooms were clean
Review 137:Room smelled awful! Window filthy. Furniture sticky and tacky.
