Reviews for Omni San Francisco
Review 1:Parking rates made a good deal at the hotel less so. You don't need a car in the city but if you need one for traveling to and from like we did, try to find a better parking option.
Review 2:Great location and beautiful hotel. We were there over Christmas and found it to be nicely decorated, comfortable and clean - very nice rooms. We walked all over the city from there and found it to be a good base for our expeditions. We did not eat at the hotel but enjoyed drinks one evening in the bar.
Review 3:Beautiful hotel. We got a good deal on booking.com. All the staff that we encountered were courteous, genuinely kind and helpful. The location was good for us, away from the crowd, but close enough to walk to Union square (about 10 min walk). Gym was clean. This hotel paid close attention to detail.
Review 4:The staff were not overly enthused; they seemed uninterested and not particularly eager to assist; they just do their job as a job. Not the best feeling. Also, the bed was not the most comfortable; too soft and springy where at least some firmness would have helped a restful night's sleep. Their Select Guest services are a bit confusing (I got it for the free wifi). You can't update your profile from the email they send you, which is quite annoying.
Review 5:The building was very pretty inside, and the decor tasteful.
Review 6:It would've been nicer if there were queen beds instead of full. Full too small for two people. Also, the valet parking was confusing and both check in/out we had to double park on a busy street.
Review 7:Beautiful lobby, large and spacious room. Gingerbread cookies and hot cider in lobby was a nice touch for the holidays.
Review 8:The trolley car runs right by the hotel.... so early morning that's what you hear. Also maybe it was just our room, but it sounded like a large door was being slammed I am assuming from housekeeping starting at 8 am andevery 10-15 min after. Also beware they do charge over $60 for parking. From this site I was under the impression it was included in the price.
Review 9:Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and very attentive.
Review 10:We were happy with everything.
Review 11:The hotel was beautiful. Loved the room and extra touches: valet parking, doorman, cookies and cider. It was also nice to have the restaurant available. We had breakfast there and it was excellent!
Review 12:Hotel restaurant was too expensive.
Review 13:Location is near Union Square and Chinatown. They had a limousine to send us to the airport at Usd55 whichbis the same rate or cheaper than a cab. Also had free drinks down at the lobby.
Review 14:Drove from San Diego to SF 8+ hour trip through LA traffic :-( arrived, about 3-4 employees milled about as they watched me struggle unloading the car for about 10 minutes, finally someone stepped up and offered assistance as the car was almost unloaded. Got to our room and the safe was out of order, I was starting to get upset at that point. Concierge showed up and fixed it finally.
Review 15:Manager was proactive and called me during our stay and offered a complimentary bottle of champagne to assuage my pain.... Great gym, had a lot of cardio pieces and it was impeccably clean.
Review 16:No bad experiences, but would be nice to have coffee/tea available in the room.
Review 17:All of the staff were absolutely professional and OUTSTANDING. Location was great with walking access to the Financial District, North Beach, and Chinatown with the Embarcadero and Pier 39 just beyond. My first choice in hotels is Omni.
Review 18:Parking cost 30 dollars for the first night then 50 for the second
Review 19:Very friendly staff, they even dish out bottles of water from behind the counter. So don't bother drinking the ones that cost in the room!
Review 20:The location is great. The rooms are clean and spacious. Cleanup. Attentive porters with children. Hall of luxurious entrance and concierge very helpful. Besides, I did not considered the price expensive. Internet expensive, but if you join in the Omni program, the internet is free. For us, it went free. Expensive parking. But leave to rent car on the last day. Do not drive in San Francisco. Complimentary extra extra pillows and duvet. In addition, first-line toilet material. Finally, a true 5 stars. A localização é excelente. Os quartos são amplos e bonitos. Limpeza total. Porteiros atenciosos com crianças. Hall de entrada luxuoso e concierge muito prestativa. Além do preço que não considerei caro. Internet cara, porém se você se filiar no programa do Omni, a internet é cortesia. Para nóes, saiu de graça. Estacionamento caro. Porém, não é recomendával pegar carro em San Francisco. Deixe para alugar carro no último dia. Cortesia de travesseiros extras e edredon extra. Além de material de toilete de primeira linha. Enfim , um autêntico 5 estrelas.
Review 21:With the price of the hotel, having to pay for wifi on top was a bit much.
Review 22:The staff were awesome and super helpful and the hotel was a delight after a month of travelling and sleeping in some serious dives. Great location and proximity to all the sights and with the historic cable cars stopping almost right outside the door.
Review 23:Parking fees were expensive $55 per night!!!! We never used our car throughout our stay so it seemed very expensive overhead.
Review 24:As you enter the hotel you come into a grand lobby, all dark wood and high ceilings etc. it feels very grand. The reception staff are extremely efficient and friendly. The location is fantastic. It is right in the heart of Downtown San Francisco and getting everywhere is easy. We bought a bus pass for the duration of our stay and it was so easy to hop on and hop off, even the wonderful old cable cars.
Review 25:The staff were all wonderful, we loved the location and we were helped every time we had a question. It is a great place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Review 26:It doesn't have a coffee shop, only Bob's Steak house open for all meals. La Boulange is across the street and down one block. That's where we walked for coffee, fresh fruit, and pastries.
Review 27:We particularly liked the atmosphere and luxurious decor of the hotel.
Review 28:We should not have to pay for wifi when room is already at 350$. We should not have to unplug the lamps to find a way to charge a labtop. Rooms are old school 60s with horrible carpet
Review 29:I would have preferred if housekeeping did not knock at 8am on our departure date to check what time we were vacating the room as we were still asleep ahead of a return flight to the UK.
Review 30:The service received from all members of staff was superb and faultless. The location is within walking distance to Union Square and China Town and a cable car runs past the hotel.
Review 31:Restaurant is a great steak house, but is pricy - and limited options outside the steaks.
Review 32:Lovely building, lots of character. Right on California Street where you can watch the cable cars climb the hill. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sign up for their loyalty scheme and get free wifi, free coffee delivered to your room in the morning, and a couple of shirts pressed when you arrive.
Review 33:Having to pay 15 dollars per day for Wifi.
Review 34:The bed was very comfortable, and there was little noise coming into our room on the 8th floor, overlooking a side street.
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:After a long day of traveling we were welcomed with two glasses of champagne and a very friendly staff. We were in town celebrating a graduation and it was also my boyfriends birthday. I didn't request this but I informed the staff that it was his birthday when I booked the reservation and on our last day we came home one evening to a dessert and champagne. They were very accommodating and if we needed something they provided it for us.
Review 37:The only issue was with the housekeeping service. We left the room very early 8am and expected our room to be clean when we returned at 1:30. We were dying for a nap so we waited 30 minutes and then called to see when the room would be cleaned. All in all we had to wait 45 minutes, cutting our nap short. However, upon checkout we expressed our concern with the staff and they were very gracious and kind as well as sorry that our stay was not perfect. They also charged us for wi-fi (their mistake) and immediately removed it from our bill with another apology.
Review 38:Complimentary Champagne cocktail offered at check-in Service at desk/check-in was excellent! Service when checking out and presenting our small concerns were handled promptly and courteously.
Review 39:We used booking.com for a premier room. This is supposed to be a larger room on an upper floor. We were given a tiny room on the 7th floor, but when we complained, they moved us to (what we paid for!) a larger room on the 10th floor - barely an “upper” floor in a 17 floor hotel.
Review 40:Ultra comfortable room, very clean, wonderful amenities. In room safe.
Review 41:Only issue faced was confusion about reservation. 5 business travelers. Had to change a couple of the arrival and departure dates on-line and that system (Booking.com's system?) left a few questions when we arrived.
Review 42:Very friendly greeting at the desk, even while they were squaring away confusion about the reservation. Busy, crowded up-scale bar (with generous pours on the wine). Quiet, calm atmosphere.
Review 43:Cons. Not impressed with breakfast in hotel although it's paid and not cheap at all. Soundproof is not very good. It's obvious to hear the noise when guests shut door. In this case, Omni in San Diego is much better.
Review 44:Pros. Service in general is good. Helpful staff. We've a young boy. Everyday he had a glass of free milk with biscuits. Small gift but very helpful. :) Location is good. Just 5-10 minutes walk to China town. Very handy to eat out for whatever breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Review 45:Noisy even in the night. We could hear the noise of the street and in the early morning we could hear the city waking up with loading noises. The staff were good although I expected a lot better service for the money that they charge
Review 46:Great location.
Review 47:We knew before that the rate only included the room, but the extra charges for WLAN and parking were quite high and also breakfast / dinner in the hotel very expensive. At least basic WLAN should be for free and there should be an option for a quick and basic breakfast.
Review 48:Good location, friendly staff and nice rooms
Review 49:The Steakhouse restaurant is overpriced and the quality of the food is average. Having to pay for wifi and having 2 different speeds. This is ridiculous. Wifi in all hotels at this price should be FREE! Having to pay $52 for overnight parking!
Review 50:Excellent, competent staff. Good location. Very comfortable, quiet rooms.
Review 51:The hotel is located at a very busy road/area so it's congested on weekdays. Only recommended for guests who don't need their cars to move around.
Review 52:The location was perfect. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We requested a cot prior to our arrival and when we checked-in the cot was already setup. We also requested for a kettle for our baby and it was immediately brought to our room. We just had a bit of trouble connecting to the wifi and to when we finally got connected (after talking to helpdesk), we got a call from concierge that they would not charge us for use of wifi. All in all, excellent hotel and very customer oriented.
Review 53:Housekeeping staff is rude. When we returned our room for a change of clothes one afternoon, housekeeping was in the room cleaning and refused to leave when we asked her to take a 30-min break. The supervisor supported her and it's not until we repeatedly asked them before they reluctantly left. This left a very unpleasant experience for our stay.
Review 54:Front desk staff is friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location.
Review 55:I was looking for Starbucks coffer and instead of telling me that they have Starbucks complimentary coffee I had to walk outside the hotel to get coffee . They should have offered it!
Review 56:One had to call the front desk to ask that one's car be brought up by valets. Sometimes the front desk was so busy, one was placed on hold for several minutes. We suggest a dedicated employee for valet requests or more front desk employees at peak times. Also, breakfasts in house are WAY overpriced.
Review 57:Availability of valet parking - even though expensive; coffee available in mornings; within walking distance of many prime locations; cable car right in front; great staff; would return again.
Review 58:It's part of the city, so you have to take it with a grain of salt, but valet parking is spendy. Not much you can do about it when in San Francisco.
Review 59:Crisp, clean & "masculine" style hotel. Lot's of marble, dark woods, brass, glass and tile. Great place to do business, meet for a cocktail or lunch.
Review 60:Very nice hotel, nothing wrong at all, though didn't have any one particular thing that just set it apart. Decor is a little tired. Very, very, nice. Really good service
Review 61:Comfy bed, very kind, attentive staff.
Review 62:Man at check in desk was marginally rude, there was an uphill walk to the shopping district, very expensive, paid wifi was expensive but if you join "select guest" at no cost it's free even if you're staying at an omni hotel for the first time
Review 63:Beautiful lobby, located centrally but in the business district rather than the shopping one
Review 64:All accommodation in San Francisco is expensive, but this was a worthwhile treat
Review 65:The rooms were beautiful and well maintained The staff were all lovely and very helpful The neighbourhood was safe and handy to everything
Review 66:Could find no fault - even the detail items were good
Review 67:As soon as we walked in the door we knew we would like the hotel - the reception area had an old world charm about it. The staff were very friendly and our room was what one would expect from a quality hotel. This hotel in every respect was one of the best we have stayed at.
Review 68:The room was ok, nothing special, we could here all the street noise as the windows are single glazed. The cost (due to location) was incredibly expensive , with additional costs for parking ($59 per night) & wifi ($15 per night)
Review 69:The location for all the attractions was ideal & within easy walking distance. The staff were very attentive. The hotel foyer was very impressive & luxurious.
Review 70:It's a bit expensive, but it's a quality hotel. WiFi is not free, but if you join their select hotel programme it is.
Review 71:The hotel is in an old bank building with lots of character. The rooms area decent size, with good bathrooms. Hotel is on a tram line, and well located for Chinatown and only a few blocks from Union Square. The area is quiet, with less homeless people than many areas in SF.
Review 72:No complaints.
Review 73:Great location for a Nob Hill concert at Masonic, rooms were quiet, very clean, express check in and check out very efficient. A very good value for this part of San Francisco
Review 74:Staff is well trained Location is ideal to restaurants, AT&T park, Chinatown, Wharf, shopping at Union Square, and Ferry Building. In the heart of San Francisco and close to freeway on and off ramps to 101,280, and 80 Bay Bridge. Good Happy Hour Bar. Good Fitness room. Safe area of town.
Review 75:The hotel had a great location. The room was a nice size but was nothing special. The staff was very friendly. We did get helpful information from the concierge.
Review 76:My wife and I were traveling through San Francisco on our honeymoon. My wife got sick and unfortunately had to spend our time there cooped up in the hotel. She could not have been happier. The hotel is exquisite and more over the staff (each and every one) are the friendliest people I've ever met. This hotel is excellent.
Review 77:The Omni is in a great location in the financial quarter and we walked to many if san francisco's sights and attractions easily. It was superbly comfortable and the staff were extremely welcoming, efficient and attentive. We loved it!
Review 78:No buffet breakfast option. Took the waiters more than 30 minutes to serve cold cereal and bagels, so we had to skip breakfast to catch our flight!
Review 79:The rooms were fantastic, and the hotel is located right in the center of SF (walked everywhere!). Concierge service helped us find the best sights.
Review 80:Is a bit pricey. Internet isn't free unless you become a member of the hotel chain.
Review 81:The service was really friendly and the hotel was really beautiful.
Review 82:Construction on the corner outside the hotel. Not the hotel's fault, mind you, but still it's no fun to be woken up by jackhammers...
Review 83:Courteous and conscientious staff. Clean facilities.
Review 84:Very poor value for money Absolutely no reason to pay so much, service and room are average but everything in the hotel is ridiculously overpriced 50$ per day for valet...
Review 85:Location
Review 86:I would have liked a better view.
Review 87:Compared to other luxury hotels, the Omni is a little less expensive than some of the others, but delivered a truly luxurious experience. The Omni staff are some of the most gracious in the hospitality industry. We were warmly welcomed and looked after. It was an easy walk to Chinatown and many great restaurants.
Review 88:Noisy air conditioner that we could not turn off Paying $15 for poor wifi - seems common practice with most 5 star hotels
Review 89:Location Clean and classy Service
Review 90:Walls not so well insulated. Could hear others talking loudly late at night. No breakfast cafés nearby.
Review 91:Stylish hotel with impressive lobby. Helpful staff on door and concierge/front desk. Our room had a view looking north towards Alcatraz island, which was surprising. Adequate room size and space for the family. Not too far to walk to shops and pier sights.
Review 92:Nothing, We walked there from the Ferry Building so no parking issues
Review 93:Everything, Even forgot to put out the card for free coffee, called and within 10 minutes had a fresh pot if coffee
Review 94:parking expensive mini bar expensive.....$7.50 for a bottle of water ! Not a complaint as such but this is not what I would class a 5 star hotel, rooms were nice but a bit basic for a 5 star hotel, albeit this may be because it is San Francisco.
Review 95:staff were very pleasant and helpful.......excellent
Review 96:Bobs restaurant next door was disappointing .The food was expensive and badly presented with unusual combinations of foods. The caesar salad was just lettuce with dressing. ( not our understanding of what a caesar salad should be.)
Review 97:Location of hotel was fantastic, very central. The staff were excellent and always willing to help. The service was professional and prompt. The room we had was spacious and perfect for tired travellers.
Review 98:Helpful front desk. Great recommendations. Offered umbrellas for the light mist that was falling. Never had to open the door. Always ready.
Review 99:View of the next building's roof.
Review 100:Staff were wonderful.
Review 101:views were okay
Review 102:everything
Review 103:Great service staff!
Review 104:We thought the mattresses could have been better and the room was a bit plain.
Review 105:Friendly, helpful staff!
Review 106:Beautiful hotel, convenient location.
Review 107:nada!
Review 108:Location! I'll be back.
Review 109:No free wi fi. Expensive valet parking.
Review 110:Cleanliness
Review 111:the rooms are tired and out of date. rooms need to be refreshed, looks like my grandmothers bedroom.
Review 112:lobby is pretty and staff is friendly.
Review 113:Very elegant and friendly caring staff. Great location
Review 114:May be have some buffet bf options. Omni buffet in their hotels across Texas is really good.
Review 115:Loved the staff and the cleanliness.
Review 116:No coffee shop
Review 117:Staff was friendly, cordial and efficient
Review 118:Location n staff
Review 119:Staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 120:All staff members were friendly and accommodating. Location was central and walking distance to most landmarks.
Review 121:Breakfast was too expensive Bedroom design and furniture a bit outdated
Review 122:Excellent location Friendly staff
Review 123:No pools and stuff, more a business hotel than leisure
Review 124:Lovely room, super-comfortable bed, very friendly, helpful staff. Location perfect for restaurants and sightseeing.
Review 125:Had to pay for wifi
