Review 1：Rude, loud families with children (my kids have grown in hotels like this, but I never let them scream and run around, at the expense of others), food needs quality improvement, restaurant often overcrowded- no free tables at peak times- breakfast, very low quality food menu selection (leave the barbecue to Serbians and others who have mastered it, there are nice Bulgarian food recipes). Poor wi-fi most of the time, staff needs more supervision and training, lack of courtesy, 5 stars are somewhere very, very high in the sky...hard to reach this way, all in all the hotel needs general refreshing, in attitude mostly, not just physical.

Review 6：Food in the restaurant wasn't up to a 5 star hotel standards. Outdoor pool with warm water could not be reached directly from within the hotel, instead we had to go out in the cold to enter it. Some of the guests at the pool were very loud.

Review 8：Restarant staff was poor. Buffet dinner - missing labels, dirty and poor variety. Set menu was fine for two day stay but repetitive. If you wanted to order something different one would realize that the a la cart menu and set menu for HB guests was one and same. Mini bar was not restocked on a daily bases. Reception staff professional but not as polite as one would expect from a 5* hotel. Overall good hotel maybe a little bit overpriced for the service and facilities offered.

Review 10：1. spa pool very bad-cold water, a lot of chloride. the water in Jacuzzi was not hot enough-we came back sick. all the facilities were cold. 2. all staff was not friendly. (reception, cleaners, waiters... 3. prices in the restaurant very high comparing to the food. 4. only one card for double room-the explanation was-that hotel is full and they do not have enough cards..

We were 2 people staying in the room not enough shampoos etc. showered twice a day. Sometimes I had to ask for toilet paper. No free drinking water. Restaurant the menu was not clear enough - as needed to order and pay extra for vegetables and potaoes etc

Review 23：the place is clearly understaffed, employees seem to have no reason to make an effort, pick up the phone at reception or even smile. The room was dirty - finger nails on the carpet, mould in the bathroom, tired & dirty furniture.. the breakfast was disgusting - from stale cereals to poor choice of cold cuts. no waiters to be seen.. unhappy lady at the egg station.. then, you go into the swimming pools.. tiny outside pool full of people and lifeguard that sits behind a curtain and distributes towels. He's cranky when the towels are taken to the room instead of delivered back to him.. The indoor pools were fine, but towels and robes need to be thrown away - oh well, do a few holes matter.. This place is a 3 star at best. So is the town.. full of cheap, run down places..

Review 25：The hotel was not Grand at all. The pool was too small, packed with sunbeds, which were mostly broken. Restaurant food was disappointing! Tables were dirty most of the time, a table we sat on twice in two days had the same table cloth which had big stains and cigarette burns. Baby high chairs were filthy, we actually cleaned them ourselves with wet wipes! We also asked for a room upgrade, which we could of had for a few days (they had vacancies), then moved back to the lower rate, but they told us we cannot! Room didn't have a mosquito net on the balcony door, so we had to keep it closed and rely on the AC, which didn't seem to work properly since even when set on 18 degrees the temperature was around 25-26! Sleeping with a baby with the AC turned on was not cool!

Review 26：My favourite part of the hotel was the lobby bar. The toilets there seemed also very tidy and clean. The room was nice. I liked the bed sheets and the fact that they had plenty of electrical sockets (which most hotels don't). Housekeeping were very friendly changed our towels and cleaned our bins daily.

Review 27：There was a problem with lunch one day.As the restaurant was holding a group function, we were offered a set menu,which was too expensive and on that only day, the pool bar was not offering the pizzas that they usually do.we complained and got pizzas, but it was a poor judgment to restrict(force) people to go for the set menu. As I spent a lot on food,drinks and spa treatment, didn't check thoroughly my bill before leaving.Later on noticed I've been charged three things from the minibar totaling around 10 levs,that I've not consumed.Not a big deal,and my fault for not noticing on time, but it shouldn't have happened.

Review 32：Last time when we visited the hotel I received some poetic inspiration and wrote "Grand Hotel Velingrad is flirting with us and we fall in love. Couldn't wait for the next visit." Well, we are definitely loving this hotel. We are coming again and again. In three words, everything was great.

Review 33：There are no restrictions on what areas young children can enter. There is no area for non-smokers outside (particularly in the restaurant and pool area), when inquiring at the front desk if there could be an area specifically for non-smokers we were told it wasn't possible.

Review 44：The lengthy swimming pool is excellent for long swims. Water temperature is perfect (not too cold, not too warm). Room was clean but smelled of cigarette smoke.

It seems she was expecting me to put a leash on him and keep him by my side at all times

Had a nice massage aromatherapy, 60 min, 70 lv, beautiful and relaxing. Staff very nice. Restaurant with good food, a bit more expensive than in the city, but worth it.

Review 55：There are signs posted everywhere that children are not allowed into the spa area. Unfortunately, these areas are not monitored by the staff and while relaxing in the spa, a mother with her screaming 2 year old entered into the spa area and went into a sauna. Being a parent myself, I realize that kids will be kids, but we were only at the hotel 2 days and there was maybe a 20-30 minute period where the kids were NOT in the spa. Extremely disappointed with our visit.

Poor breakfast with no fresh juices and food variety. NO WORKING OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL AND JACUZZI for the winter season. Too crowded with many kids.
