Reviews for Imperial Swan Hotel and Suites Lakeland
Review 1:The hotel was dated but clean. Staff was very friendly. Fairly centrally located. If you stay, go up the road just a mile for breakfast at Keke's, fantastic.
Review 2:They had no record of my reservation I made online, even tho I had confirmation sheet. Staff was pleasant enough, but motel was kind of depressing. Pool didn't look very clean. I probably wouldn't stay there again.
Review 3:The hotel has a un-clean odor. The bathroom shower curtain has a bad odor. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The room is dated and the hotel just appears un-kept from a maintenance and cleanliness perspective. The hotel has a bar that seems to be the priority. They allow smoking in the front of the hotel which puts a bad odor around the entrance. Overall I just think that the management doesn't think investing in the little things matter. They run the hotel as a cheaply as they can and so I wouldn't stay there if I had other options - other hotels like the Hampton Inn were sold out.
Review 4:TV was good - but not HD. They had a refrigerator. The price was reasonable. The night staff is just one person so he had to deal with multiple customers and wasn't able to give great service - no fault of his though.
Review 5:staff, "cleanliness" and people hanging out at the front entrance who had too much to drink!
Review 6:Not much to like...staff was inconsiderate...place was dirty...and the desk was right next to a loud and ornery bar.
Review 7:The garage wasn't connected to the hotel so it was an inconvenience. There was a roach in the bathroom, holes in the walls. For $89/night I expected way more channels and better quality. The elevators are out dated and dirty.
Review 8:The garage
Review 9:The hotel is in need of MAJOR upgrades!!! For the price I really expected more quality. The carport in our room looks like it's never been shampooed. The curtains were dusty. One of our beds was uneven. The hotel itself smelled very musty.
Review 10:The restaurants in the area.
Review 11:They double charged me at check out. We reserved a king room and was given a room with two double beds. One of the comforters had feces on them. Nasty.
Review 12:The beds were comfortable. The room in general was clean. Check in was easy. Keys are neato.
Review 13:The breakfast was nothing to brag about. We have gotten use to having hot food like; waffles, grits, oatmeal, eggs. Parking garage elevator didn't work. There were several holes in the walls in our room that had been patched. But it was a bad patch job. Only one electrical plug in.
Review 14:Bed was great. Staff was very nice and helpful. My husband left his medicine in the room when we checked out. When we went back to see if it was there, the maid had put them in a plastic bag It was waiting on us at the front desk.
Review 15:This did not look or feel like a 3 star hotel. For the price, you could get a much better room. The rooms had a bad odour, the bedding was stained and the washroom wasn't clean at all. I wouldn't choose this place again.
Review 16:Also, the tub was horrible. Not enough television stations. The weekend before our hotel served waffles, eggs, sausage gravy, danish, fresh fruit; so we were a little disappointed with the breakfast.
Review 17:I could get on the toll road and it was next to Krispy Kreme.
Review 18:It is an old hotel, and smells like it. Not as clean as it could or should be
Review 19:It's well located
Review 20:Could of been cleaner
Review 21:Location,friendly staff, and pleanty if parking
Review 22:Weak breakfast. Clerks not friendly or helpful. Older place, much needs to be revamped.
Review 23:Water pressure
Review 24:Older place
Review 25:Conveinience
Review 26:Floors were wet in areas of the room. Hot water took forever to get. Water pressure low. Bathroom light had issues coming on.
Review 27:The hotel
Review 28:The rooms were nice
Review 29:Better breakfast
Review 30:Nice rooms
Review 31:Didn't like the towels shower and linens on the bed.
Review 32:Nice location in Lakeland
Review 33:Tub was pealing. Nasty. Hotel smells.
Review 34:The sports bar downstairs was awesome to watch football AND do karaoke with the locals!
Review 35:The friendlyness
Review 36:The toilet didn't flush.
Review 37:I love the staff
Review 38:Love the bed and room!
Review 39:However, parking is awkward, accessibility from Florida avenue is challenging. The room had a musty odor and shower, toilet, and lighting was not always functioning properly and out dated.
Review 40:The hotel was selected because it was close to my son's residence.
Review 41:Room and the entire interior of the hotel in general smelled musty and dirty. There was no water pressure in the sink. There was no hot water, so a shower was out of the question. Luckily we only had to stay one night. Continental breakfast was laughable.
Review 42:1. They had a room available when all other hotels were booked for this particular night. We were in town for Southeastern University graduation. This was the only hotel that had a vacancy other than motels which I try to stay away from in general. 2. There were no bedbugs which almost surprised me
Review 43:Didn't have reservation, so was put in a smoking room. TV didn't work and was unable to use toilet. The desk took off $25.00, but heard nothing from management.
Review 44:A microwave would have been nice for the breakfast area to heat up the cold frozen muffins.
Review 45:Quiet clean room and staff was very friendly. First time staying in a high rise hotel and the hot water was there when you turned it on :) Location was excellent for access to the airport for the Sun and Fun event. Coming back next year!!
Review 46:Room was somewhat clean but smelled really musty. people hanging in hallway drinking empty and half full beer bottles left on floor. would not stay there again.
Review 47:Location
Review 48:The "Continental Breakfast" was too abbreviated-not worth the time to even make use of. It ONLY had starchy items not taking into account guests who are starch restricted.
Review 49:Though older establishment with signs of age the cleanliness was notably good. The room was very comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Very good deal for the price.
Review 50:The front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was clean & very comfortable & very quiet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat & would also recommend to others.
Review 51:I was very disappointed in the breakfast buffet & refrained from eating anything. As well as, the proximity of the parking to the hotel & the distance I had to walk to the main entrance to take an elevator to my room. Although the price was affordable, I will probably stay elsewhere next time.
Review 52:I found the hotel easy to find off of a main road & convenient to my destination. My room was clean & fairly quiet during the night.
Review 53:When I arrived I was told the rooms I booked on line was not availableand was forced into taking one room with one bed for mygroup of 8 peopleand paid double. Now they are trying to say I was a no show and wants tocharge on my card $148 no show fee. I was told the booking was not doneproperly. It made for a miserable weekend for my group.
Review 54:The bathtub was horrific. Lots black stuff in the bathtub. Not sure what it was but it looked awful. The lights in the bathroom had a short and you had to flick the switch several times to get the light to come on. The hotel has definitely seen better days. The price was good, but I think you could do better as far as condition of the facility.
Review 55:Location and the staff was friendly enough.
Review 56:they say in Internet: renovation in 2011 for mor than one Milion Dollar. I was ther in 2008 or 9. After there was no renovation! The only Renonavion is a Bomb !!! The Horriest Hotel what i ever seen! Dirt everywere!
Review 57:To start, first impression is smoke. Second impression is rude front desk person. Third impression was rude front desk person. Fourth impression - absolute disgust with the state of the entire hotel and that whole second floor is smoking. I'm severely allergic to cigarette smoke. Guess what - my daughter and I were put in room on 2nd floor. When I expressed to front desk person that I would be made sick by room he refused to change rooms. My son and his girlfriend had a sixth floor room but with king bed. I could not give them the 2nd floor room with double beds. My son is 6'5". All doors looked like they had been kicked in. Carpets stained and debris on carpet on Friday night was still there on Sunday. No vacuuming or cleaning done on hotel. Wet pain signs everywhere, peeled back carpet, molding pulled back. Overall state of hotel - disgusting. Only reason I stayed there is my South African son's reception was being held there the next day. Oh, woke up to dumpster view and people talking and smoking out by dumpster at 7:00 am!! I awoke congested with sinus headache from inhaling smoke every time next door neighbor smoked.
Review 58:On Saturday morning there was a new front desk clerk, who actually got off her butt and was running around trying to take care of everything - breakfast buffet, front desk and incoming calls. She handled them beautifully and miraculously at 7:30 in the morning was able to give me a room on the 6th floor away from smoke. She was courteous and respectful and highly professional handling many different things at one time with a smile. She was never able to give me her name because she was too busy handling everything. Also, I was worried about the reception but it ended up being great. Only negative of being on 6th floor is that after being up very late on Saturday, we were awakened at 8:15 am Sunday by loud drum music and a band playing above us. Apparently the local church holds their Sunday music service at the hotel!!
Review 59:After a long day of tournaments, went to check in was told there was asmall problem, they over booked and the room I reserved was notavailable which was two doubles and non-smoking. They offered me asmoking king .first of all if I wanted a smoking king I would havereserved that in the first place. I reserved my room that Tuesday andhere it is Saturday. Needless to say I was extremely upset how a hotelcan do business like this is beyond me and it isn't one of thearound. They tried to blame it on the internet for booking to manyrooms never called they could of cared less. I had kids who were tiredand just wanted to rest from a long day. I would never recommend thishotel. I also had team members who reserved a room and were told thethe same thing .
Review 60:Nothing!!!!
Review 61:1) Our room was not ready when we arrived at 4pm2) room still was not clean at 630 so we had to leave. 3) after room was cleaned when we returned at night it was cleaned marginally. The picture over one of the beds was missing and the wall was dirty behind it. 4) there were piles of trash in the hallways 5) there was construction debri leftnin the hallways and in the in the room directly opposite elevators when you walk out. I sign that stated please excuse our mess would have been nice and possibly roped off. 6) continental breakfast was a joke. No milk at 8am and the gentlemen behind counter could not get any because he did not have a key. Their were no plates or utensils. When my boys arrived 30 minutes later their was not any orange juice left either. 6) When I checked out I mentioned all this to attendant and showed pictures of trash and mess as well as questioning about mandatory evacuation the previous evening. I told him our stay was our worst ever and not worth 30$. He did discount our room to 80$ total but it was bad.
Review 62:The location.
Review 63:It was dark and raining and was hard to find as the sign outside is vey small and inadequate. We passed it once thinking it was a stadium as there was a huge sign over the entrance with Detroit Tigers written on it!
Review 64:For the money the room was very comfy and clean.
Review 65:The continental breakfast was disappointing. The bagels were dry and hard to cut with a plastic knife. It would be great to upgrade the quality of bagels and have them pre-cut. The toaster took a very long time to toast. There was no protein available. My suggestion is that packets of peanut butter be available.
Review 66:The location! It was the best location for my needs. The price was right also. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 67:Never used pool; never looked clean. The badly torn USA flag was definitely an eye sore.
Review 68:Location; easy access to highways. Many good places to eat and shop.
Review 69:The coffee maker was full of dust. There was a hair in the coffee cups.It took forever to get hot water. Our room was given to another familythat walked in on us and then our room key did not work and had to bereprogrammed. The breakfast was very limited but good. When we returnedon Saturday night there were no convenient parking places due to thelounge clients.
Review 70:The room was fairly clean and was very comfortable. Enjoyed the pool.
Review 71:When we checked in, the lobby had hardly any hotel staff. The pool had black mold on the sides and the pool area was not clean. The room was fairly clean. Checked the beds. Bedbug free. Electricity went out around 3 a.m. and worse, it was pitch black. The exits were not lit up. Very unnerving. I was afraid to go down to the front desk as because the electronic key would not let me back in. Phone did not work. Breakfast was rockhard bagels. Will never stay here again.
Review 72:Everything. Staff was utmost friendly and eager to please guests. Iliked that the hotel was centrally located. We didn't have to drive toofar away to get things that were needed.
Review 73:Location was good. Close to basketball tournament at Florida Southern College. Not as nice as online photograph portrayed. Had teenage boys with me and people from lounge were outside drinking and being loud. Not a family environment.
Review 74:It was a little spooky. It seemed like we were the only ones there.
Review 75:We were in town for a baseball game, so the location was good in thatregard. We received discounts at a sports bar and a breakfast place.
Review 76:Halls where musky, Breakfast was not good water down juice but it is contintal so I guess it was ok for a free breakfast. Work out room would have been better if all machines worked and not just one. Also the driving directions where the worse all people dont want to pay a toll on there vaction and taking I-4 would have been the same amount of time if not shorter and lucky we had some cash on us. Could have been more channels for the tv since there was children.
Review 77:It was not far from the Detroit Tigers spring training, the room where clean and did not have to worry about bed bugs since i checked as soon as we walked in the room. The maids cleaned the room while we were out and did a great job without messing with our things. The front desk was nice and even got me a big bag of ice when asking where the machine was.Good location, and good price.Good when you have kids they like the pool.
Review 78:I had to stay in a smoking room due to vacany and didn't enjoy the lingering smoke smell. No fault of the hotel though. I also did not receive a complete bill upon check out.
Review 79:The bed and the sheets/bedspread was very clean and comfortable/cozy. First time a stay at a hotel almost felt like my bed at home due to down comforter.
Review 80:hotel was dirty. room service didn't clean everyday. when they did clean they didn't do a very good job. furniture was falling apart. water tasted terrible.could be a really nice hotel if someone who cared would buy it and refurbish it. continental breakfast was not continental didnt have milk for cereal one morning. someone could have gone to walmart( 6 blocks ) and got some but they were tooooo lazy. needs some paint and cleanyp to be a good hotel. oh, one elevator looked and smelled so bad that i think they shut it down. never saw it work after the first day and i was there for six. all the reviews i read were bad but i took a chance.
Review 81:the a/c worked great. great location. rate was good.
Review 82:The carpet smelled bad in the hallways and in one of the elevators. Heavy stains on 3rd floor before the elevator. The continental breakfest did not have much to choose from. It was toast, ceral or mini muffins.
Review 83:The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 84:The advertised breakfast was abominable. It consisted of very watery juice, whilte bread and bagels and jam which was hard and unspreadable. There was cereal some days. Other days they "ran out of milk" so they withdrew the cereal containers. We were there 8 days and it took the first four to get our room keys keyed properly so we could use them. The plaster is peeling around the windows and the sink faucets constantly drip and leak around the base. Admittedly, the rates were low, but the amenities were not worth even that price
Review 85:The rooms were clean which was a challenge with the deteriorating structure
Review 86:The hotel was smelly, fixtures were old, the elevators were scarey, signoutside home of detroit tigers!!! Not sure where they stay in the hotelbut couldn't have been in the room we stayed in!!!!
Review 87:We did not like anything about the hotel or the people that workedthere. Would never stay there again!!!!
Review 88:The sink leaked, the bed was squishy (easy to fall out of,) but I was happy with the crash pad.
Review 89:I was prepared to come to a dump but was surprised how nice the place was. It was inexpensive for a last minute booking.
Review 90:Room 607: Poor tv channel selection, lack of working ice machine on 6thfloor, lumpy bed, scratchy towels in bath, one-person front desk whentwo attendants would have been better, musty smelling cocktail lounge.
Review 91:Location, car garage, price, room refridge, quietness in room.
Review 92:The walls are too thin. Could hear every word in the next room. AndSaturday night is Karioke, and we heard every song there too until 1A.M. even on the 3rd floor.
Review 93:Very comfortable. Conveniently situated. Staff very friendly. Onemorning though there was very little breakfast - apparently let down bytheir supplier. Shouldn't happen, but the rest of the week was fine.
Review 94:The tub/bathroom looked a little run down. Tub took a very long time todrain and visibly chipped paint. Bathroom door hinges were rusty andwall paper ripped in a small area. One bed did not have fitted sheets.Room smelled a bit musty.
Review 95:Centrally located. Access to an array of restaurants, coffee shops, activities.
Review 96:Old, mildew, rust, quality of towels & linens very poor. Bathroom needs remodeled. Fan in room had dust all over in vent.
Review 97:Bathroom was filthy and needs upgraded. The black mild around the tub was disgusting.
Review 98:Outdated, broken & grimy, sink did not drain, disgusting mattresses with NO mattress covers! I got bitten by something.
Review 99:The tub had mildew. The pillows had stains.
Review 100:It was quiet. Nice staff at check in.
Review 101:I Did Not like The uncomfortable bed & parking lot
Review 102:Only The location
Review 103:The floor in the rooms could be a little cleaner. For the price the shower/tubs should be in better shape.
Review 104:poor maintenance particularly the bathroom
Review 105:the location
Review 106:Despite their webpage, there is no Restaurant or Lounge. No laundry services. Housekeeping the worst!
Review 107:Front desk staff was good.
Review 108:The price and the look.
Review 109:3 elevators - quick response to get to and from room. Front desk staff friendly.
Review 110:the rooms were nasty, they upgraded the room to a suite and nothing in the room worked
Review 111:nothing
Review 112:Fitness center was terrible False advertising on breakfast Very oldfacility plumbing didn't work
Review 113:The A/C in the room sucked!
Review 114:Staff was nice.
Review 115:Good location , clean and good price
Review 116:Comfortable and clean everything was very good , will stay again andrecommend to others ....
Review 117:no Tigers there, no shuttle, no cab for 2 + hrs
Review 118:the girls at front desk were very helpful
Review 119:Very old plumbing
Review 120:Valued priced.
