Reviews for Bella Vista Suites Lake Geneva

Review 1:The room was very comfortable and quiet - we did not hear another person when we were in the room. The hotel is very close to the lake and a short walk to the downtown shops and restaurants.

Review 2:Conformation from Booking.com showed that the rate for the room included breakfast. On arrival at the hotel we were charged an additional $15 per day which included a $10 voucher for breakfast at 1 of 3 restaurants in Lake Geneva. I don't believe we should have been charged for this.

Review 3:Rooms were very spacious with a separate lounge and kitchen area. Great views over Lake Geneva. Room was spotless & very comfortable bed. Reception staff were courteous & helpful.

Review 4:You charged my visa twice and when i pointed out I w Was told my problem to correct. I asked a supervisor call me and no call. I would never stay there again

Review 5:Rooms should be set up so that living room is next to window and balcony and bedroom is the room as you come in. Also, we had four of us ladies in the room and there were no other mirrors except for the one one in the bathroom! There was no outside pool.

Review 6:Convenient location.

Review 7:There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. The weather was rainy, which didn't make for a good time outdoors.

Review 8:It was quite. The suite was well kept. I had a beautiful view of the lake.

Review 9:The hotel charges a $15 amenity fee per day which includes a $10 voucher for breakfast at a few local restaurants, free WIFI, free bottles of water and a few other things. However, we had to ask for the free bottles of water we were supposed to receive each day. There is no on-site restaurant or bar and we would have rather not had the amenity fee and $10 voucher as the restaurant choices weren't some of the better choices in town.

Review 10:We stayed here for four nights early June and appreciated the private dock on the lake right across the street ($35/night charge to dock a boat there) and the easy walking distance to all the major attractions. Our room overlooked the park and had a small refrigerator, a nice sized balcony and separate living room. Rooms were clean and well kept. The small pool was indoor in the basement and there was a nice sauna. It was a nice area to relax. All in all a fabulous location with a nice dock and clean rooms.

Review 11:We really have no complaints. It would've been nice if the cocktail lounge would've been open. However being directly attached to the Baker House made up for that.

Review 12:There wasn't any aspect of the place that we didn't like. Great room. Nice balcony. Comfortable and clean. great location.

Review 13:Let consumer know if a wedding is booked.ruined evening excited tostay.became extremely DISAPPOINTED.for over 5 yrs j Have stayed @ oakmill..they were booked this mother's day weekend.also given freeflowers there.expensive for aggravation & I am not a complainer.mybusiness deals with customer service.

Review 14:Location

Review 15:the Governors suite was fantastic on every level! Spacious, amazing lakefront view, clean, close walking/driving distance to all restaurants/activities, and comfortable sleeping arrangements for our party. We really enjoyed our stay at the Bella Vista

Review 16:Breakfast included was somewhat misleading as it was offsite. Should say certificate included for breakfast. Parking downtown for breakfast is an issue.

Review 17:The website said there was a free continental breakfast but they actually just gave us a $10 coupon for 3 nearby restaurants. So we ended up paying for another meal that we hadn't planned on.

Review 18:I had a wonderful experience with Bella vista. Clean room, nice hotel, and within walking distance of everything. We went in January so it was very empty.

Review 19:There was no breakfast on site and the bar was closed. Both are things I looked for when booking a room.

Review 20:The location was great and the rooms were clean.

Review 21:It should be clear that "breakfast service" is not on site. Our idea to grab a muffin, mug o' Joe and head out to the dock early in the a.m. couldn't happen because there's no dining options in the "suites" (it's condos now; you are renting someone's property). And while you are away, someone comes and cleans your room. In our case, they took our belongings – including our drinks and snacks. That was dangerous, given my husband's Type 1 diabetes. I ran to our room seeking apple juice and pudding we had stored in the refrigerator and it was gone. So was the soda. Even the handsoap! All the trash cans were not emptied so it wasn't immediately clear what happened. The lack of onsite management or a management company suggests the new ownership has a few kinks to work out. When a guest calls to say something is not working or has a need (we had 4 adults and one package of that weak coffee and asked for another) there's no way to obtain service

Review 22:Loved the pool and fitness facilities. The location was great to walk downtown, to Baker House, to Gino's East. But in bad weather, this is inconvenient, because there are no dining options on site (the Piano Bar no longer exists, despite the advertisements). If you meet any of the condo owners, they are wonderful and welcoming and full of suggestions on how to enjoy the area. They truly love their community!

Review 23:The location was nice but the facilities were not very fresh. This was our first time at the lake, the staff did not welcome us upon arrival and didn't go out of their way to suggest anything to do on the area. Would have preferred accommodations that were not so dated for the cost.

Review 24:I did not like the fact that the receptionist Brittany wasn't to friendly, no brochure with discounts for some of the attractions and I did not receive the correct suite with a lakeview and balcony in the bedroom. Back in May I visited Lake Geneva and stay at the Lake Geneva Grand Resort and it was beautiful. Pleasant receptionist, valet parking, discounts on some of the events, like spa service, the boat tours, etc. I was celebrating my wedding anniversary in May so I decided to return for our sister trip and stay at the Bella Vista and according to Brittany since I had been up there before I didnt need to ask her about different attractions that might be going on when I return. Also, the gentelman who sits outside waiting for guess to show them where to park. Not the best of help even when my sisters and I was trying to get on the elevator. he didnt even allow us to get on. he told us we needed to wait on it because he was going down and we were going up, my opinion he has a wait of making sarcastic remarks not once but several upon approaching him. Nevetheless we made the best of our trip and inspite of all I mention we did have a great time but we will not be returning to the Bella Vista. Even the internet service was poor. There was no code provided in order to use the internet Service either.

Review 25:I was pleased with everything being in walking distance and because we had somewhat of a water view.

Review 26:The bed room area was very small Wi-Fi very for the hotel was not occupied by a lot of people seems like we could've been upgraded to the Lakeside the price was high

Review 27:Was a great location

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:The place and area was beautiful. We loved the lake front view. Everything was close in walking distance. The staff was very helpful and professional. We were able to rent a boat just right across the street. Very convenient. We will definitely return.

Review 30:Very spacious room and kind staff! The $10 drink voucher was a great bonus. Also loved the overall facilities - wish we had more time to enjoy them.

Review 31:N/a

Review 32:The room was beautiful and the staff was very nice and helpful. I also liked how check in and out was a quick.

Review 33:we wanted more pillows and there was no answer at the desk.

Review 34:The comfortable setting and the view.

Review 35:Second time staying at Bella Vista. Great staff. Clean rooms. I'll stay here when I visit lake geneva.

Review 36:Felt it was over priced. Room was very hott and pull out couch was insanely uncomfortable.

Review 37:Location was really nice

Review 38:Price tag too high!!! Rooms and facility clean and new but not high quality.

Review 39:The way I was treated by manager Scott after finding over 200 Mosquitos in our room. Also wasn't enough parking.

Review 40:How the sales manager helped me.

Review 41:The entire place was very clean, staff very helpful. Enjoyed walking next door for the wonderful brunch. Cant wait till the sauna is complete.

Review 42:How clean and friendly. The attachment to the baker mansion

Review 43:Lack of wall mounted shower. Facilty is showing signs of decay in areas.

Review 44:Really nice location. Spacious room. Clean guest areas throughout.

Review 45:Resort fee.

Review 46:The balcony, the tub, the location, the bathrobes, the pillows.

Review 47:Rate, room size, mattress on sofa sleeper

Review 48:Location, staff

Review 49:Room needed some small maintenance like painting.

Review 50:The location to the lake and downtown was excellent. I would stay there again. The room was spacious

Review 51:pool was super dirty looking. There is a light on the porch so you can't go outside at night because all the bugs swarm the light. You can't have your door open either to get air because of that.

Review 52:our room size was great even though it was expensive. Perfect for a family of 4. We brought pizza in and sat at the table with our kitchen- perfect.

Review 53:Great Location Nicely decorated and clean rooms. We met Ted while having a drink at the bar and he made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back.

Review 54:The hot tub was under construction. There was so much noise from it we couldnt even spend much time in the pool which was the main reason we came. We could have chosen other motels with pools. I asked the staff for restaurants. They gave me 3 of them but they were all closed. The staff were very unknowalgeable and didnt seem to care.. I would not return.

Review 55:The location was just great--right on the lake. The room was beautiful and the staff was very attentive. We'll be back when it's a bit warmer. Although it was very relaxing to enjoy Lake Geneva during the off season--very peaceful; no crowds.

Review 56:Resort fee - this is really a part of the hotel fee but listed separately so the price looks less than it really is: they now force you to one of three restaurants for breakfast. At one time they provided continental breakfast delivered to your room which was ideal for the romantic get away. The resort fee also covers items like WiFi but only one person at a time can use it. What happens if both people have smartphones. Parking is part of the resort fee. Like I said the resort fee is a joke. This is my second stay at this hotel but I think I will look elsewhere now. The lights from the outside porch next to the bedrooms keep the bedroom well light even during sleeping hours. The blinds need to block the light - they do not.

Review 57:Wonderful staff.

Review 58:I would like to see a breakfast on site included with the price of suite. At this time they only offer a$10 off per couple per day coupon. This is to have breakfast at a choice of 3 local restaurants.

Review 59:My husband &I have stayed here before and really enjoy the lake view and comfort of the suites. This is a very clean and comfy place.

Review 60:It was our Romantic get away weekend and when we checked in, our room happened to be next to a 10 yr olds birthday party sleep over. They quickly upgraded us to a suite for no charge. That was such a generous and nice thing they did. It made our weekend very special.

Review 61:nothing at all

Review 62:Superb location, excellent price, nice hot tub, herbal teas galore, close to restaurants and especially the lake and hiking trail . Excellent!!!

Review 63:Room was a bit chilly even when heat was turned up.

Review 64:Everything was beautiful and we all enjoyed our King Suite. The location of the hotel made it very easy to walk to stores and restaurants.

Review 65:The price is high to begin with, and they tried to charge $50 per daymore than the confirmed price. Also, my son's family rented a roomthat was suppose to have a king size bed; it was 60 inches wide -- queensize. The hotel still claimed it was a king size bed in the face ofevidence to the contrary. The only alternative offered was a large suiteat twice the price. And last, the place is beginning to look just a bitshabby when you consider the high price.

Review 66:The location is great.

Review 67:A little pricey for the money. I upgraded our room, but thought the hotel could have given me a little break on price as the upgraded room was available when we arrived and likely would have been vacant had we not upgraded.

Review 68:Our room view was great - and great location

Review 69:A great value in Lake Geneva during the "off season." community has a different feel in March. Loved the access to Main street, seeing the lake and IL roadsters doing "donuts" in their cars on not-so-thick ice.

Review 70:Chicago prices for the "country". Need to go into town for breakfast. Coffee is provided. A basket of muffins & fruit would have been awesome.

Review 71:Very clean. Comfortable beds. Staff very friendly. Beautiful view of Lake Geneva. Walk to downtown Lake Geneva shops and restaurants.

Review 72:no breakfast at the hotel!!

Review 73:Bar closed for private event, did not know in advance; pretty spendy.

Review 74:Staff was very friendly and location excellent. Great value for the money

Review 75:no bar - no dining

Review 76:I like the spacious room and the location of the hotel.

Review 77:We were supposed to get a king bed and we were given a queen. Rooms were ok, but a bit broken down and buggy.

Review 78:Location was ideal.

Review 79:needs touched up abit

Review 80:location great

Review 81:none

Review 82:i like it ...

Review 83:Far from shops in such cold season.

Review 84:View from front. Brunch next door.
