Reviews for Cape Colony Inn

Review 1:No really big downside, but since it rained cats and dogs the morning we left: Maybe next season there is a way to reach the (canopied) breakfast patio from the reception without running through the rain?

Review 2:Really really friendly staff, very good breakfast. Great recommendations for Dinner options, etc. Nice fireplace, which was lit up in the evening.

Review 3:Nicely designed, recently updated entire facility. Friendly and helpful staff esp. Sheila . Clean, well stocked rooms and more than continental breakfast included?

Review 4:The door to our unit has a crack in it, The stairs we had to climb to get to our unit are VERY STEEP AND VERY NARROW.

Review 5:We really loved the size of our unit, very updated, clean, modern, the bed was extremely comfortable in fact we would like to know the maker and model as when we got home we realized we need a new one. It was very quite!!

Review 6:The room was spacious, with all amenities in good, clean condition. Friendly reception staff made us feel welcome and we even received a little beach bag. Breakfast was great...gorgeous sitting out next to the pool.

Review 7:All went well; would stay there again

Review 8:The property is spotless, conveniently located, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The continental breakfast was generous The See's lollipops seal the deal

Review 9:There is nothing me and my fiance didn't like. The location was perfect and about a 2 minute drive to downtown parking and about a 10 minute walk. The staff was very professional curtious and helpful. Patricia was an amazing help with maps and recommendations and even a coupon for dining. The room was beautiful, with all the the great things from home, fridge, microwave, flat screen, cable, and even a kuerig for my morning coffee. Breakfast was also great for an early morning start to the day. This is the only place we will ever stay on our future vacations to provincetown. 10 out of 10.

Review 10:Heater smelled so was unable to use. It was probably the first time the heat had been turned on for the season.

Review 11:Great staff, comfy rooms, good location. A nice change from chain hotels. Breakfast, pool and fire pit all added to the positive experience.

Review 12:Cleaning/housekeeping was below expected standard. Hairs found in sheets and towels, bed not made on two days. Carpet not vacuumed.

Review 13:Large comfortable room. Good breakfast fare. Heated swimming pool

Review 14:The rooms were very clean. The hotel staff was very friendly & helpful. We loved everything about the hotel. The breakfast in the mornings was very good & offered a lot of variety. Great location, 5 minute walk to the public access to the bay & about 20 minute walk to center of town where all of the shops are located.

Review 15:Nothing negative to report.

Review 16:Very clean. Comfortable bed and bedding. Very nice and helpful staff. Great variety for breakfast. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Review 17:It was a little bit outdated, despite the recent renovation.

Review 18:Great hotel, friendly staff, everything clean. Quiet location, just outside the city center

Review 19:Some mildew smell in our room this time. Noisy refrigerator. Noisy dog upstairs (snoring).

Review 20:Parking right in front of rooms. Fresh waffles for breakfast. Convenient to visit nearby relatives.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:Spacious room, loved the individual reading lights, utdoor eating area, breakfast, quiet, off beaten path, but close enough to walk to everything.

Review 23:The location is on the outskirts of town, which make it a little too far to walk back and forth for shopping, dining, and attractions. I recommend paying for parking in town or taking the shuttle bus from the hotel as an alternative to walking.

Review 24:Large, clean hotel room with two extremely comfortable queen sized beds and spacious bathroom area. Enjoyed the amenities like the in ground pool with large patio and loved relaxing by the fire pit in the evening. Staff was professional and helpful.

Review 25:Loved everything! The recently renovated room with king size bed, the beautiful pool area with upscale furniture, excellent breakfast, fire pit and staff- all excellent. There were no children when we were there so adults could relax and enjoy the pool peacefully. Short walk to the center of town along beautifully landscaped streets. There is also a shuttle that was easy to use.

Review 26:A little bit pricey for extended stays. Limited access to public beach/parking.

Review 27:Good location - recently updated facilities with plenty of outdoor activities for teenagers and adults, fire pit, shuffleboard, horse shoes, ping-pong, etc. 15 minute walk to town.

Review 28:Rooms open up into the parking lot can be very noisy at times.. Teeny tiny bathrooms and very small tubs.

Review 29:It's a solid 15 minute walk into town very pleasant .historic homes ,narrow streets along Cape Cod Bay. Really good location nice breakfast very helpful staff. Clean clean clean

Review 30:We liked it but it was a tad pricey for what it is. A similar motel room (maybe a larger one) could be had for significantly less in Truro, Wellfleet etc. If being within walking distance of P-Town is important, then I suppose it's worth it.

Review 31:comfortable, quiet, (almost) walking distance to the center of Provincetown, very nice staff

Review 32:Moody staff. Obviously some problem was happening, but the management was snippy and unpredictable. I wondered if they treated their staff that way too. Doors and steps out of lobby where breakfast was served were dangerous and hard to navigate with good in hand. The seats were outside, so it was necessary to do do. Suite was small with no useable wifi or tv in one room.

Review 33:Great bed. Location was ideal. Pool was nice. Breakfast was more than the usual euro style. Good coffee.

Review 34:Breakfast was simple, quality food and fresh. Location Close to town, easy to access with good size pool that was not crowded. Rooms spacious by Ptown standards and recently remodeled.

Review 35:Loved everything just wished a little closer to main strip of stores.

Review 36:Loved the hotel. The rooms were extremely clean along with the grounds. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Review 37:We have been very well welcome by the front desk and everybody. Many explanations, room as requested with view on the swimming pool. All staff is really doing its best for nice journey, really appreciated,

Review 38:The slow draining tub/shower.

Review 39:The location off the beaten path. It was quiet and close to beach. They had a lot of entertainment options: shuffleboard, corn hole, ping pong, volley ball and a pool.

Review 40:Maybe bed to soft but that is a personal preference There were a few roaming ants in room too

Review 41:Great location with excess to bus. The morning breakfast was great too with fresh waffels Your staff is awesome we talked to a shorter brunnette think she works evenings she was extremely helpful! We would come back :) Barry

Review 42:The wifi was unreliable, although this didn't especially bother us.

Review 43:Provincetown was probably the loveliest town we've ever visited and this was an affordable option for a family, with everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we loved our stay.

Review 44:We asked to remain at the outdoor pool after checkout and the GM said he needed us to leave immediately upon checkout. I've never had a hotel kick me out of the public part of the hotel after I check out - it was very disappointing

Review 45:the hotel was clean, quiet and in a good location.

Review 46:carpets in the room smelled. needed tile floors so the carpet didn't get wet from pool. also no bathroom at pool had to go back to room to use.

Review 47:pool was nice

Review 48:One woman at the desk is not very friendly. She pretends to be, yet not well. The guy at the desk is FABULOUS!

Review 49:We stay there a lot and will continue to go back! The free ice cream by the pool was just awesome!

Review 50:The sign states the pool is heated, but it must have been broken during our stay.

Review 51:The staff was pleasant and were able to grant our requests as soon as possible. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was cheery. The room was comfortable and quaint.

Review 52:I wish there were better directions as to where to go for the beach. I also wish the rooms were joined.

Review 53:We stayed for a bachorlette weeks and we enjoyed the breakfast, pool, shuttle stop and the beds.

Review 54:for over $300 a night there was not a lot of luxury just very clean simple regular motel style rio on so that disappointed me . I would definitely stay there again but I wouldn't pay more than 129 a night

Review 55:very clean

Review 56:Cape Colony had a complete facelift last year. rooms are very tastefully decorated, new mattresses, beach themed art, beautiful color schemes. The outdoor space around the pool is very inviting, including firepits and a corn hole game. Free breakfast each morning. Although a 15 minute walk into town, the shuttle is available until 12:30am right in front of the property. I can't say enough about the staff, so helpful and friendly.

Review 57:Nothing!

Review 58:This was our first time to Provincetown and we are so happy we decided to stay here. The rooms look like they have all recently been renovated, everything is beautiful! The bathroom was exceptional with beautiful countertops and a great shower! The heated pool was great as well as all the comfy new patio furniture they have! We went in every day! Also, the breakfast was excellent, we loved the waffle irons! Vera attended to the breakfast each day and she was so nice and very funny! Also we met our housekeeping woman, Sophia who was also extremely kind and quickly assisted us when we needed extra towels or anything else! Sheila the front desk manager was very friendly and made some great recommendations as to where to shop and where to eat dinner! Steve, the GM was very nice to accommodate a later checkout which made our lives a lot easier! All in all an excellent visit, the walk was only about 10-15 mins to downtown, the grounds were kept nicely and everything was so clean! We can't wait to come back! Thanks again to the amazing staff!!!

Review 59:Great location within walking distance of the center of Provincetown. Beautiful and clean room. Great breakfast...would stay again. All at a very good price.

Review 60:Not in the center, but if you don't mind walking a bit it is perfect.

Review 61:The staff is fantastic. The motel is perhaps not top fancy but it does the job.

Review 62:Room got very cold at times, the bad weather probably didn't help. The Wifi had problems when we were there and was terrible.

Review 63:The breakfast was good and had lots of options. Room was nice, great shower

Review 64:No room for breakfast (outside or on your room). It's a 20-25 minute walk to town, a bit far. We rented bikes and that worked out just fine.

Review 65:We liked the spacious room, the outdoor space and P-town itself. The beds are great and the room is very cosy and 'new'. The breakfast is a bit simple, but provides everything you need.

Review 66:This was our first visit to provincetown, I came with a good friend and we had a blast. The beds were comfy, the hotel was an easy 15 minute walk to the center of town, and the beach was just a minute away. I am very happy to have booked Cape Colony Inn!

Review 67:We spent two nights here in a 2Q room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding for a motel breakfast. It included fresh waffles, eggs, bagels (from frozen), fresh fruit, fresh muffins, yogurt, juices, coffee and tea. Room was clean. Little tight for four, but fine.

Review 68:Rooms were clean, spacious, and pleasantly decorated- simple, but had a nice seaside look. The hotel is just off the main commercial area, but still walking distance, so both peaceful and convenient. Also just a block or two from the beach. to the beach! Included breakfast was simple with something for everyone.

Review 69:The only thing missing was an ocean view..but we knew there wasn't one going in.

Review 70:The front desk people from Steve, at check in to Sheila in the morning....were helpful and informative...they like working there and you could tell. I usually hate continental breakfast but theirs was so much more...the kids loved making waffles and we liked the fresh muffins, fruit and chilled boiled eggs.

Review 71:Pricey and far away. Door banged all night when windy. Heat was hard to control. Desk folks were rude and very uncaring. They treated us like we were lucky to be there. Do not stay here.

Review 72:Not much. Breakfast was not fit. Fruit was best part. Cannot screw that up much

Review 73:Perhaps some more seats ( just 3) to have in a room able to welcome 6 people !

Review 74:Type of room for à family: 2 separate bedrooms . Good location , center easily reachable by foot

Review 75:Breakfast arrangement was not ideal.Sitting outside around the pool in mid October?? Otherwise you have to take your food to your room. We were told that this would change in 2015 when a breakfast eating area would be built

Review 76:Lovely room with large comfortable bed and good arrangements for sitting during the evening. It was much better equipped and cleaner than we probably expected from what was a motel rather than a hotel that we had previously being staying at. The staff were very helpful and we were made most welcome

Review 77:As the third weekend of October, the weather was a bit chilly on our third day but that is our fault for having an anniversary so late in the year. We must return when it is warmer so that we can enjoy the poolside scene.

Review 78:The value for the money and the reasonable walking distance to the center of town. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

Review 79:Hot water was turned to full hot in the shower but could have been hotter. Room 122.

Review 80:Good continental breakfast. Nice heated pool. Liked the barbeque grills and even a volley ball court.

Review 81:The breakfast was good but there is no space to sit inside. We sat outside by the pool once and took it to our room the other morning, which was fine so only a small minus here.

Review 82:We had a wonderful time at the hotel and could even enjoy the heated pool twice. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and we could easily stay an additional night. I highly recommend the cape colony inn! It is a bit out of town but easily accessible by walking a bit. Rent some bikes!!

Review 83:I didn't rate my quality of sleep poorly because it was perfect up til about 7 am when it sounded like construction was going on above us. Not sure if that was the case or just very rude tenants. The loud pounding went on for about 2 1/2 hours. Oh well everything else was perfect. Thank you!

Review 84:Everything was very nice.

Review 85:The new owners have taken old and tired and made it new and fresh! A truly great find, we will definitely go back! Weather did not afford using the outdoor heated pool or patio furniture which would have been perfect for having cocktails!

Review 86:Continental breakfast was convenient but carb-heavy.

Review 87:Liked everything about the hotel ... bedding was excellent, room was large and clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Review 88:I always like a pool especially an indoor pool to help me with my arthritis. The hotel offers an outdoor pool which is kept clean, but I wish it was an indoor as weather was kinda cool.

Review 89:location was great, easy to get to restaurant or shop. Beaches were probably only ten minutes away.

Review 90:A/C could have ten cooler. But nights were cool anyway so we just opened the window.

Review 91:Beds wonderful. Great restful nights after a day of walking & exploring. Spacious.

Review 92:At breakfast, one staff member hovered over the guests as they used the equipment. I didn't feel that was necessary.

Review 93:The ice cream truck made a hit everyone. Also enjoyed the added "touches" such as outdoor fire pit, grills, and outdoor games.

Review 94:Location is a long walk to the center of town.

Review 95:Overall, a very positive experience. Patricia, behind the desk, and Vera, the hostess for breakfast, were very attentive.

Review 96:ABsolutely nothing . It was all fantastic. Had a wonderful time

Review 97:Loved the location to Commercial street. Loved that I could walk there and not worry about parking Loved the amenities firepit and heated pool Loved the breakfast nice touch and consistant access to a cup of coffee

Review 98:this is not what I did not like, I am very active, swam 44 laps in the pool every morning.....and I love walking....5-7 miles a day....but if you want to be smack in the middle of things in Ptown, then look at this location.....yes you can grab a public bus, but it is a 15 minute walk into town, so if you are the type who wants to be right there, then you will pay more for that priviledge...please not this is not a negative to Cape Colony, only to you if you want to be right there location wise

Review 99:clean, clean, clean....this property was updated, not sure when, but recently, and it shows.....rooms are nice, bedding is superb, bathrooms are separate, and clean....property is immaculate. Very laid back, this is not a party hotel, BYOB if thats what you want, for me I needed to recharge from my inner city job/clients.....so peace and quiet was welcome

Review 100:Only outside seating, although plenty, for breakfast. That could be a problem if it rains. But we were lucky with great weather.

Review 101:Great continental breakfast and nice heated pool. Pool had plenty of seating and 3 foam rafts which was a nice touch.

Review 102:Rooms, although nicely renuvated, a but small and dark. Could not open windows.

Review 103:Staff very friendly and helpful. Motel type accommendations close to center of P-town, although the walk might be a bit far for some. (About a. 20-39 n Minute walk ). Nice breakfast Also nice to have coffee and fridhe in room.

Review 104:Honestly, there was nothing that would keep me from returning!

Review 105:Heated pool Comfortable/Clean beds Clean bathroom Extremely friendly staff including the staff at check-in, the housekeepers, the staff who assisted with breakfast in the mornings, and the staff at check out One of my friends had a flat tire on his bike and we called the front desk and they had a bike pump that they let us use. Very nice! There were 4 of us, and at one point two of them had the room keys while the other two did not. The front desk staff was more than happy to give us a spare key to use in the meantime. Will definitely be going back!

Review 106:Difficult to carry breakfast tray outside and open doors at the same time. It should be made easier or have a breakfast buffet outside too weather permitting.

Review 107:Nice pool and plenty of sunbeds. Very good wifi connection throughout hotel.

Review 108:lot of mosquitoes. You could expect the rooms will be equipped with windows nets or some other protection. There is no breakfast rooms. You can either eat in the tiny lobby or in the swimming pool yard, Pressure of water was very low in the evening because the filled the poll. This happened when my daughter took shower,

Review 109:The pool was REALLY cold (I thought it said it was suppose to be heated).

Review 110:Was surprised by the gaming areas. Loved you offered beach chairs and beach wheelie things. Beds were very comfortable. I usually don't sleep well away from home, I slept almost the whole night. Everything was easy and convenient to get to (ice machine, snacks, front desk)

Review 111:Reception upon arrival super. A cheerful genuine lady checked us in quickly and gave us information about things to do and how to get around. The location is brilliant, close to vibrant Provincetown and beaches, but still peaceful and in pleasant grounds. Rooms freshly decorated, light and airy with great beds. Lovely pool area. The complimentary breakfast comes with handy carry out boxes.

Review 112:Air conditioner in room not very efficient- no towels provided for the pool area.

Review 113:Location. Quiet area- staff friendliness - ease of check in and out. Free use of beach gear- comfy bed.

Review 114:Just a tad annoyed with people prancing around constantly above us! But i would still go back

Review 115:Staff very friendly and efficient and answered all questions efficiently and thoroughly. GREAT beds, sheets, comforters...fresh, comfy, clean. Good continental breakfast! I like to walk so it was nice to be a tad on the outskirts of town and walk to town...only took 20 minutes!

Review 116:The hotel didn't owe the access to the beach so got to get a risk to walk there.

Review 117:Great distance to walk to the center city. Very modern design & very clean room.

Review 118:10-15 min walk to central Provincetown, so we rented bicycles to move around the town, the beaches, and the parklands

Review 119:Large rooms, fresh furniture Great bathrooms Lots of storage space, large windows Friendly reception, great housekeeping Large heated pool, beach volleyball area, BBQ area Decent complimentary breakfast

Review 120:Enjoyed the location at the quiet east end with only a 20 minute walk to the P-town center. Family suite was ideal for four of us, and breakfast was nicely varied for all. Older facility, but has been upgraded with great beds and was very clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 121:It is a distance from town and other activities. It is not a bad walk, but not one you would want to do every day. The pool was lightly green. I heard the GM mention that he couldn't shock it until everyone was out and he had the guy coming by that day. It was no problem for us.

Review 122:The beds were soft, the staff were very nice, the fire pit with chairs was a nice thing for friends, the breakfast was small but was ample enough and they even provided little boxes so you could take it to go (or take it pool side). They also handled some guy's complaint about room prices efficiently and kindly. It is nice to witness this as a bystander (even though the guest was absolutely in the wrong they were very kind).

Review 123:Pushy man at check in trying to bully the girl who was doing a fine job

Review 124:Breakfast, pool, friendly guests, clean, great location, cost effective, large room, new tv and beds

Review 125:We have been gently welcomed. Location is perfect to visit provinceTown by walking. Breakfast were excellent ! and heated swimming pull perfect for the children.

Review 126:It is a outside the town centre, however, we happily walked to and from taking in how pretty the town is en route.

Review 127:We stayed two nights and enjoyed it. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and the breakfast was great. Would recommend it!

Review 128:Simple but very good breakfast. Easy walk to beach and town. Provincetown itself has some great bars and restaurants. Surrounded by areas of spectacular scenery.

Review 129:It is a tad far from the center of town where everything happens. Which, might be a good thing but it is a good 15 /20 min walk.

Review 130:This is a great clean, nautical decorated place with a pool. Plenty of parking. Great value

Review 131:Our table was very wobbly in the room but it did not impact our stay too much.

Review 132:Our room was very nice and clean. Everything was up to date. When we checked in the staff was very helpful in giving us the best spots to visit. Even for the continental breakfast someone was always there helping us along the way.
