Reviews for Beaufort Inn
Review 1:Please read the positive comments prior to my rant on small tiny things. This is an amazing place to stay and should not be overlooked. The room we received was a bit small yet we did book the day of as we are on a road-trip so this was okay. It was the last one so beggars can't be choosers. There were a few SMALL issues that we noticed but these DID NOT in any way negatively affect our stay, just wanted to point these out to be completely honest. - Our duvet on the bed did not have a cover, this I found a bit strange as you can wash a cover daily but duvets are a bit tricky to wash everyday. Once I got to bed though I slept like a baby as the bed was extremely comfy. - The hallway carpets are a bit hard to roll and suitcase. - There is also a door at the top of the first floor stairs and this is strangly hung for those folk walking up the stairs. There is an elevator though so it's not dramatic. - This said door does not have a door stopper so when you do not gently close it there is a loud slam, this didn't bother me as I sleep rather good yet the hubby got woken up. - The patio furniture was all wet. Despite not raining while we were there and being under the porch, we would have loved to sit on the porch and eat our yummy gelato. We did find two rocking chairs on the top porch and ate there. - Last but not least the walls areTHIN which needs to be expected in such a house, never the less we got free tips on how to plan our trip the next day from the couple above us.
Review 2:This B&B is absolutely gorgeous. You come in and are greated with tea and water and then receive a tour around the property and shown to your room. The BREAKFAST.... Made with love is all I can say. Amazing homemade oatmeal with walnuts and raisins and made to order Omletes which were amazing. Free Parking is also always a plus anywhere.
Review 3:Ate both dinner and breakfast at the inn. Stopped there on our way to the Cloister at Sea Island, GA, and this was a delight. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Food was reasonable and delicious. We will return.
Review 4:There's nothing bad to say. Loved the place.
Review 5:The place was beautiful and rich in history. We can't say enough about how well we were treated by everyone there. Class all the way. We will definitely be back! Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
Review 6:Inn was very badly managed; several things went wrong and were very poorly dealt with. The managers made errors and we were poorly compensated for them. There is a big issue with staff being undertrained and not knowing how to deal with guests. Room was not cleaned on one day.
Review 7:the small frig in our room was not working. need more counter space in bathroom for our toilet items. maybe a extra shelf would be helpful. and more towel racks . our down comforter did not have a duvet cover on it. price was a little high but not badly over priced considering you receive and nice breakfast.
Review 8:breakfast was very nice. overall room size was great.
Review 9:If you are looking for the ambiance of a bed and breakfast, be sure you are given a room in the main building. This Inn has the feel of a corporation and because we were given a room in a secondary building it felt more like we were staying in a Mariott. Disapointing!
Review 10:The location was very convenient. We were treated warmly at breakfast by a lady who made us feel special.
Review 11:Wish the wifi connection was better. If you need it for business it would have been frustrating . I was only checking less important emails. I tried connecting in my room. Didn't try on the front porch or on the grounds.
Review 12:Great location to waterfront and restaurants there. Staff very friendly and helpful. Love b&b because of their charm and this property has that.
Review 13:First morning at breakfast was very crowded. There was a large party of cyclists staying. Would have been good if we had been told so we could have avoided coming down at the same time!
Review 14:A Hotel with so much character. Individual designed rooms. Our welcome by Paige at reception.
Review 15:Felt very comfortable and the Inn is very well appointed. Our room was large and roomy even with a king bed. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Review 16:Breakfast was weak Staff not able to handle Food kept running out and not as special as many B&B not Inns.
Review 17:Left some things in room and staff was very helpful to retrieve. Guest turned in so very good experience.
Review 18:Because everything was so perfect and we'll organized, except for the real nice people serving as wait staff in the dining room, we didn't interact with anyone else during our stay. But in the dining room, even the morning and evening chefs were there to speak with us.
Review 19:Room 11 was cramped and poorly decorated. The HVAC did not work properly, it got up to 80 degrees F so the moved us in the middle of the nite. Why didn't they give us room 19 in the first place?
Review 20:Room 19 was excellent, spacious and full of southern charm.
Review 21:the room was wonderful. ask for #5 if you want a terrace, a rocking chair and a delightful view; the staff was exceptional, especially the breakfast chef who even gave me his coffee since i came downstairs very early.
Review 22:The Inn was charming. We had our own little cottage, which was decorated tastefully. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. Loved our stay, definitely a high point of our trip!
Review 23:Everything was as expected at the Beaufort Inn. Location was perfect. The attached spa was also great-ask for Jennifer-she was amazing and gave me one of the best massages ever. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone-couples or solo traveler.
Review 24:We were disappointed with the location of our room not staying in the main house which looked lovely, instead in a small house round the back the front of which faced a busy street opposite the public library. The veranda looked onto this street and had two hard chairs and small table not the rocking chairs the receptionist told us we had. We just felt we hadn't had the full bed and breakfast experience being across two yards and not in the main house.
Review 25:We liked the location, and the size of the bedroom and bathroom.
Review 26:Front door to the building stuck tight when it rained.....
Review 27:Food, service, friendliness and consideration.....tops! from the time we signed in to departure.....
Review 28:Wedding party music went after 10pm and Beaufort Police had to shut it down. Bistro Restaurant does not have a liquor license and we were not told that it is a BYOB. Quality of dinner was marginal. Bistro is under separate ownership from the Beaufort Inn. We experience very poor management of both the Bistro (BYOB) and the Inn to manage a large wedding.
Review 29:The Beaufort Inn is a comfortable walking distance to the historic town.
Review 30:Our room (no 6) had a noisy internal air-conditioning vent just outside the door. There were additional air conditioning units outside the window - the bed was up against the window - and this was very noisy all night, both nights. The second night there was a group of noisy people on a verandah outside my bedroom until 2am. Only flimsy blinds in the room, provide privacy but no darkening. We were here with friends (same booking, same price) who were located in one of the cottages. They experienced none of these problems. Be fussy about which room you get - don't accept 6!
Review 31:Very friendly and helpful staff. Attractive, well-maintained property with lovely antique furniture. Restaurant was very good indeed. Location excellent - one block from Main Street.
Review 32:Absolutely, nothing!
Review 33:Everything that they had to offer was done to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The staff was awesome and I can't wait to go back.
Review 34:Could not darken the room to sleep.Outside street lights kept the room bright enough to read in bed with the inside lights off. The room had three windows with one behind the headboard. I tried to sleep with a pillow at headboard and washcloth over my eyes. The brain needs darkness to make melatonin to sleep deeply, and light to make serotonin to wake up. The room needs black out shades! Otherwise I loved the room and the inn.
Review 35:The beautiful décor and location to the waterfront
Review 36:This inn is actually a collection of small houses enclosing very intimate private gardens. HUGE bathrooms with slipper tubs and marble showers. Great great place.
Review 37:Very kind and competent staff. Location is great to walk to local shops and restaurants.
Review 38:staff, location and room. bed was excellent
Review 39:We loved our very spacious room. Beautiful porches and courtyard to sit in and read and have a glass of wine. Very convenient. Great staff
Review 40:FOOD WAS NOT EXCEPTIONAL-RECEIVED WRONG ORDER FIRST TIME-INCONVENIENT PARKING-NO VIEW OF WATERFRONT

Review 82:Everything. We have stayed here several times and are fully satisfied
Review 83:Pleasant inn with excellent service
Review 84:Poor wifi connection
Review 85:Welcome - comfortable room and bed.
Review 86:Wish we would have had a tub in our room.
Review 87:Loved the restored facilities! Great location.
Review 88:The Inn exceeded all expectations!
Review 89:No nice toiletries and didn't check towels bed was not comfortable no bottle water in room.
Review 90:The breakfast and close to marina
Review 91:location and service
Review 92:Cant think of one thing.
Review 93:We loved the property, the beautiful grounds and landscape. We love history so the house itself was amazing, and all that Beaufort has to offer. We loved it! Will definately be coming back!
Review 94:The bathroom sink did not drain well and you had to hold the handle down on the toilet to make sure it flushed.
Review 95:Beaufort Inn is within walking distance of downtown Beaufort. Our second floor queen room was very nice and large. We really enjoyed sipping wine in the evening on the porch that was located off our room. The breakfast was wonderful.
Review 96:Everything at the end was wonderful. The meal at the bistro was excellent. The staff was always courteous and attentive. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Review 97:Mattress was a little too soft. No alcohol. Would have been nice to get an omelet for breakfast. Music in the garden would have been nice. Cushions on wicker chairs on porches outside of rooms at the inn would have been nice.
Review 98:Gardens were beautiful. Facilities and location were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 99:Air conditioning needs a complete overhaul. At present, it cannot be switched off completely, and periodically it switches on with a great roar. In our first room it was impossibly noisy and our second, it was just noisy.
Review 100:Location and style of building
Review 101:Our room and bath were tiny at the top and back of the house. No rug on the floor. Only one chair to sit on. It would have been a maid's quarters in the original house. The buffet breakfast was poor. The coffee urn was splashed and dirty. The coffee was cold and we had to ask the waitress for a hot cup, which she went off to find elsewhere. The cold urn remained. The fruit was nearly gone and had not been replenished. The food was luke warm and unappetizing. This, with still an hour left for serving breakfast.
Review 102:Charming inn and grounds, well appointed. Gracious welcome, complimentary wine and chocolates.
Review 103:Complimentary breakfast buffet.....beautiful and charming grounds....excellent restaurant on-site for lunch and dinner....great location....immaculately clean.....very comfortable ambience.
Review 104:The Staff was superb, friendly and most professional. Even one morning the young lady at the front desk gave us a virtual tour of the town and area with impromptu acting of historic figures and legends...quite remarkable!
Review 105:King-sized bed was VERY high and (for this mature couple) a bit awkward to get into. Also (and we did note this with the staff when checking out), the linens did not fit the mattress and would not stay in place.
Review 106:Location, location, location. Restaurant was lovely with great food. Breakfast was very nice. Room was very pretty and spacious.
Review 107:The meals at the Inn were poor at best. Some of what was listed as available on the menu was not available. The duck and steak we had was not good at all. The waitress put us off 3 times by syaing she would give us more time which we didn't need. Sandra, the GM was great, the others need a personality. I have been in customer service related business for 20 years and was not impressed by the other staff. The stopper in the garden tub didnt work and we advised house keeping and the front desk but nothing was done until I personally made the GM Sandra aware of it. The wine and chocolate that was supposed to have been in the room upon arrival had to be asked for. We were allowed a late check out but the meal was 83.00 and the tub did not work until the last night and no concessions were offered to us for future stays. Again the facility in itself was nice but aside from Sandra the staf in general was lacking in both personality and willingness to assist. We will visit Beaufort again but we will look into other B&B's before booking with the Beaufort Inn again.
Review 108:We liked the room, and the surroundings as well as period the the facility represented. The area in general was great, restaraunts shops and water front was great.
Review 109:Hate the small unmanageable pillows, furniture seemed unstable, soft chair to low and mushy. Stayed in room #4 2nd floor. Would have liked to have had dinnerat the in on Tues. we stayed, being Valentines week suggest open for that week. Ate at Wrens, very good would return
Review 110:Location to Bay St. and Restaurants , Historic district. Elevator access to upper floors. Quiet location. Clean.
Review 111:EEnjoyed everything even with bad weather.
Review 112:Just loved the Inn. Nice staff...had bad luck with weather rained whole time there so would go back sometime.
Review 113:Although breakfast was good, kitchen staff couldn't manage the rush in the morning very well, both with service and food quantity.
Review 114:Very comfortable, updated room in a perfect location.
Review 115:The stairs to our room were a bit difficult for my husband. Needed more hangers in the room. Also would have liked more counter space in the bathroom to place my toiletries. And a mini fridge would have been nice.
Review 116:Loved the Inn itself - very quaint and pretty. Our room was spacious and loved the balcony. Also the restaurant staff was so warm and welcoming and friendly.
