Reviews for Comfort Inn & Suites Memphis

Review 1:under construction-remodeling from lobby up through 3rd floor. no breakfast at designated time. disinterested staff on duty in morning. way over prised for conditions and location.

Review 2:Excellent staff at registration-friendly, helpful and professional.

Review 3:They was replacing floors in lobby dust every were. the rooms wasn't that good.for the money could have been better, no hot water the next morning.

Review 4:Breakfast was ok the staff was nice.

Review 5:The hall way was dirty. The doors in the hall were beat up. All commons areas need cleaning up.

Review 6:All staff was excellent. Good room. Can tell remodeling is in process.

Review 7:The place is undergoing renovation and the lift to guest rooms is the service lift. The aircon/heater in the room made strange noises and was either too hot or too cold. The TV signal was intermittent and the breakfast was very basic.

Review 8:Reasonable place and the lady at the reception was very professional and helpful.

Review 9:Hall carpet was a little stained and dingy.

Review 10:Location was close to where I needed to be. Access was easy to come and go. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 11:Well the guest that we traveled with room wasn't cleaned their second day there. One of the maids was very loud screaming down the hallway to anot her worker early in the morning, which I'm sure woke up other guests from their sleep as I was awaken. The breakfast was terrible.....etc.I would advise that some of the staff needs additional training.

Review 12:The front desk clerk was very nice and the room was comfortable. The person that cleaned our room was very nice.

Review 13:The noise was ridiculous. There was people running up and down and yelling all night long and no one ever came down to shut them up. The hotel was kind of in a rough part of town. I wasn't expecting that.

Review 14:The room was big and clean. It was nice for a young couple to stay in and not too bad of a price.

Review 15:Customer should have been made aware of construction happening on site. One of the rooms had water leaking in the bathroom. Hotel key system has some flaws.

Review 16:Good location. Courteous Staff.

Review 17:Very friendly and helpful staff. Reginald was great and the lady who was on the day shift on 10/23/2015 when I checked out. Had a problem with the toilet and it was fixed promptly. I was there for an exam at St Jude's Hospital and the staff wished me well. Please show this review to them.

Review 18:They did not tell us it was under construction. The halls and pool area were disgusting and we would not go into the water it was so cloudy. It wasn't construction work dusty it was filthy. Mold on the tub. One day room service decided not to even show up. Very disappointed I will never trust booking . Com again

Review 19:. The only thing positive I could say was the bed was comfortable and room was quiet.

Review 20:We had to drive 15 minutes to find anywhere to eat. They were decorating the lobby.

Review 21:Pool. Comfortable room and bed. Staff met my special request to be near the pool.

Review 22:Decor very dated in foyer and very dusty. Dining area also tired looking, carpet badly stained etc. Room however clean and satisfactory

Review 23:Staff were pleasant and helpful

Review 24:Building is kind of run down looking and there is shoddy carpentry work inside. Not as nice as the internet pictures made it seem. Also, the hotel is located in a rough part of town.

Review 25:Staff was friendly and the place looked clean. Easy to access from the highway.

Review 26:They are trying to improve so they are renovating. That is good .

Review 27:The staff was so nice, picked us up from the airport. Our luggage went to San Juan,PR without us. The driver was nice enough to take us on the way to get food and family dollar to get toiletries and stuff. The lady who checked us in was delightful, breakfast was free and delicious. Then they took us back to the airport on time. They all care about the customer.

Review 28:Our room had bugs in the bathroom & hair on the toilet & floor when we arrived. The ladder in the pool was broken & almost cut my son's foot. The hottub wasn't hot at all the pool water was warmer than the hottub water. And our TV didn't work they came down 3 times before it was fixed.

Review 29:Elisa at the front desk was very helpful. Tyrone the breakfast attendant was very helpful & walked around greeting everyone that came down for breakfast.

Review 30:I didn't like the fact, they said they will put me out an I will not get a refund if my kids made noise

Review 31:everything in the room was clean to my comfort

Review 32:We checked in and all was fine. The room smelt like mildew, the floors were mildly wet and the bathroom floor sticky. We got up to leave early the next morning to go to the airport 4am and their was no one at the front desk. The van driver that was taking us to the airport was there and ready which we appreciated but the front desk clerk didn't show up until he went and got her. She was asleep in a room. He tried calling her multiple times and she didn't come. It took about 15-20 minutes to get checked out and we could have been to the airport by then.

Review 33:Shuttle to the airport was nice if the driver hadn't had on rap music at 4:15am. A little early for hip hop music.

Review 34:Booked on line. Called hotel for physical location and to notify of late arrival. was told no resv in my name. re booked on line. when arrived was told had TWO resv. although I was only charged for one rm. Bathroom was NOT clean. Lock on door did not function properly. Reported to desk. "repair man was sent" Lock still did not work properly.

Review 35:Very friendly staff.

Review 36:Outlet didn't work well in my room

Review 37:had a great experience it's an older hotel but they're in the process of remodeling so it made it even better! Would stay there again

Review 38:Location was a challenge Found hair in the scrambled eggs Breakfast co ordinator greeted everyone but then continued to talk and ask lots of questions when folks just wanted to eat. One lady was wearing a support Sleeve on her arm (lymphadema) and he asked her what happened to her arm ( the lady was a Breast cancer survivor and did her best to compose herself)

Review 39:Hotel was clean and comfortable - staff very friendly

Review 40:People beware I booked 3 rooms at this hotel on arrival we all paidcash. When I returned to the uk they had taken money off my card for all3 rooms and only refunded back 2 rooms!!! I gave them a ring and wastold 2 were paid in cash and one on card this was nottrue.. This was myown fault I should have kept my room receipts but you trust people !! Westayed in many hotels on this trip and never had a problem. Obviouslythey have a problem with staff not being genuine. There's one thingthis has taught me I will keep my receipts in future.

Review 41:They put me on the third floor. The only floor that had not been remodeled. Especially in the bath where strips were non existent. Being I am a senior it is easy to slip in those prefab showers.

Review 42:The breakfast, the people

Review 43:Unwarranted rude front office at check-in. I rented the room for my young niece who was picking up another niece at the airport at midnight. So they would not have to drive back to Little Rock area (2.5hr drive) at that hour, i booked the room. Upon check-in, I'm told, the front desk lady sternly told my niece that they had better not be partying up there, or else...

Review 44:Room, pool

Review 45:The front dear lady did not allow us to get the reservation until 3 pm. She was somewhat rude. She had three families waiting in the front lobby waiting to register.

Review 46:the first room they gave me had such a bad odor that I asked to leave....old hotel with bars around the property (bad neighborhood)... Pool had floating debris in it...didn't seem like pump filters worked

Review 47:bed comfortable

Review 48:The only thing I have to say bad is that it was a little further from all of the attractions in downtown Memphis. You can tell it is near a bad neighborhood, but a lot of Memphis is known to be pretty rough.

Review 49:We loved the staff, breakfast, & room. The price was great, especially being a nice hotel.

Review 50:Hotel is under renovation which it desperately needs. Unfortunately our room had not been renovated. Didn't realize it was in an industrial area. Would not stay there again even after renovation. Wifi extremely slow

Review 51:best thing I can say was the breakfast was pretty good. The guy taking care of breakfast area was very good. Elisa, not sure of spelling, at the front desk was extremely nice

Review 52:Their was a lot of kids staying there at the time we was and they were running around acting crazy, pulled the fire alarm. Not a lot of supervised going on.

Review 53:The room was great....beds were very comfortable. Rooms were spacious and clean. Desk staff very friendly. Housekeeping staff was nice. Best of all was TC Cotton in the breakfast room....he was awesome! Funny, helpful, and defiantly trying to make us feel "at home" for breakfast!

Review 54:The wallpaper peeling off the hallways. No hot tub. The pool area was like a sauna! It was awful. I watched my son swim and was dripping sweat because it was so hot in there.

Review 55:The breakfast choices were awesome. They had a lot of brochures in the lobby for things to do in Tennessee.

Review 56:Room and hallways looked rundown needs to be repaired or updated

Review 57:The bed was comfortable and free breakfast was great and lobby staff very helpful and friendly

Review 58:I hate everything about this ghetto bug infested, beware of the transsexual in the parking lot working,

Review 59:The fruits, an the breakfast girl was the only thing nice about that roach motel

Review 60:Wasn't able to use WiFi, big disappoint. Ice machine didn't work on the second floor we having to go down stairs. Staff sucks !!!

Review 61:The room was very nice.

Review 62:The room above ours was housing what I can only imagine was a gymnastics team practicing their routine all night long. We were unable to sleep. We complained but received no relief and as I was traveling with my handicapped mother moving to another room was not an option! I attempted several times to call and speak to the manager after our stay to discuss the problem but was always told he was not available. Our stay was extremely unpleasant. I had driven 12 hrs the day of our stay and had another 12 hr drive after being up all night. We didn't even stay for breakfast we were so upset by the circumstances and the fact that no one did anything about the noise. We did learn that several guests complained about the same issue. We were told to call on Monday and talk to the manager.

Review 63:The hotel needs updating. The carpet is old and the rm smelled of mildew. There was mold on the shower wall.

Review 64:The location was OK. The bed was comfortable.

Review 65:Our room had not been cleaned properly due to them having a large group in prior to us well this is what hotel said. No towels available. Dirty tissue left on chair, half drunk drinks in fridge and hairs on the bathroom floor and bath. Staff knocking at our door at 9 am and 8.21 am. Asking if we wanted anything. Room not cleaned following morning did not realise we had to ask for it to be cleaned. We have stayed at over 50 hotels plus this trip and all cleaned daily. Never had people knocking on our door. No microwave for use in breakfast area so had to ask staff to heat my porridge. The gym all worked but again not clean and babies in pool with nappies on not pool pants gave that a miss.

Review 66:Location was good out of downtown but close to all routes for sights.

Review 67:Hotel was not that crowded but seemed like all guest were staying on the same floor and you can hear everything through the walls. Awoken at 3:00 a.m. for someone leaving for the airport and the next night by a couple having trouble with the hair dryer. Please spread guest throughout the hotel when not too busy.

Review 68:There is not one thing I can think of.

Review 69:Everything. The front desk ladies were very friendly and helpful. TC was the best taking care of everything in the breakfast and lobby area. Room was also very clean and comfortable.

Review 70:The bed spread had grease stains all over. The carpet was not very clean. There was no shower curtain when we first arrived. We tried calling for assistance as to what expressway exit to get off at. No knew, they told us to use our GPS. Not every one has GPS.but I did but we were not get data.

Review 71:Quite at least the night we were there.

Review 72:The only problems we had, could have happened anywhere (very loud neighbors).

Review 73:Indoor pool and spa, free parking, free breakfast with lots of options, free Wi-fi, friendly staff. Easy to catch the freeway system.

Review 74:2nd floor room and upon arrival the elevator was broken. No assistance offered in getting our luggage and grandbabies up to our room. Pool was ok, un parent supervised children breaking every rule possible. Website said they had a hottub/Jacuzzi. It appeared to be filled in and covered over. Breakfast was sufficient but not the "hot meal" they led you to believe. Being from St Louis the area didn't scare us, but I could see how some people would be.

Review 75:Good size room, comfortable beds, decent breakfast. Easy check-in, check-out.

Review 76:No complaints.

Review 77:There was an issue with my reservation. The staff was very understanding and not only did she resolve the issue immediately, she allowed my family to check in early. Mr. T.C. made breakfast an awesome experience!

Review 78:The elevator was broken had to carry our luggage up multiple flights of steps. Food ground into and laying on top of carpet in hallways. Parking lot had discarded pizza slices and chicken wings laying about. None of the discarded food was picked up in or out of the hotel while we were there. Also, there was no room number on the outside wall of our room. I asked one of the employees why the room was not marked and she told me it has been like that for the past 2 years. Please note I spend my career traveling and cannot remember a worst hotel experience.

Review 79:WiFi did not work one of the days and I couldn't set up my kids game. That said there was an hot tub but the work told me it had never worked since she been there. But otherwise it was a good stay

Review 80:Safety was good. Lobby beautiful.

Review 81:when I booked the room it said king with a jetted tub. after booking it told me I reserved a double queen...when I called the desk rep told me I in fact had a king, when I asked about the jetted tub she said 'I don't know, it should have one" let me just say as a mother of 2 small children it is hard to get a sitter for overnight I was thrilled to get a room with a jetted tub but upon arrival that was not the case. I paid more for this hotel over others for that feature so I was a tad disappointed

Review 82:the hotel staff was pleasant. T.C. at the breakfast bar was far above friendly! he made our morning very bright and happy!

Review 83:The woman who was on mornings. She had a bad attitude I would expect from people who live in Memphis.

Review 84:The cleanliness and attention from most of the staff to include when I booked an extra night directly with the hotel.

Review 85:Two things: The water pressure for the sink tap was so intense we had to place a towel on the sink to keep from getting soaked. Second, housekeeping knocked on our door before 8:30 am, and we requested they come back later. We had arrived after midnight the night prior. Housekeeping tried to enter room, and we requested again they come back later. When we returned from breakfast, we were told housekeeping was finishing in our area. I ended up signing off to not have our room cleaned that day.

Review 86:Very friendly front desk staff, comfortable room.

Review 87:When we pulled in we found the 7' iron gate and fence a little scary. Ha. The high fence and gated feature is a nice feature security, but we couldn't help but wonder if that meant we had chosen a bad part of town. But that wasn't an issue at all.

Review 88:We only spent one night while passing through to Nashville to watch the LSU vs. Notre Dame game. We were actually surprised at how nice the room was. Great staff, and a great breakfast. Price was fair as well. We lost the game, but had an awesome trip! Enjoyed Memphis and Nashville as well. GEAUX TIGERS!

Review 89:The WiFi went out and did not come back on.

Review 90:Almost everything. The breakfast was great and the service was very good. The man working there provided excellent care. I'm sorry I forgot his name but I would like to offer a A+ for his work. The location was good for attendance at the Liberty Bowl which was our reason for coming to Memphis.

Review 91:The walls were thin and we could easily hear a family in the next room (and they weren't being loud)

Review 92:Staff was friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman running the breakfast. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We have a son with special needs and he was so helpful and kind to us.

Review 93:Moved from two rooms because the televisions didn't work. Housekeeping didn't clean the room the last day of my stay.

Review 94:Location is close to downtown. Breakfast and staff member TC were great.

Review 95:The moldy smell in the 2nd floor hallway. Mentioned it to a staff member at the front desk, but they did nothing.

Review 96:The hotel was quiet, the staff very helpful. The breakfast was good and the gentleman who was attending to the food was very polite.

Review 97:My room was never cleaned Staff late day my fault do not destrurb sign out at 8:30 am ? I asked for clean towels told come and get them, their understaffed! My fault how? Removed sign at 9:00am

Review 98:Bed was comfortable Room size good

Review 99:They were apparently going through a remodel. I have stayed in better places for less. The one thing I was most disturbed by was the fact that this was a nonsmoking facility and I had a worker stop me, on my way out to smoke, and ask me what floor I was on. When I told him, he told me to go ahead and smoke in there. He did it all the time. I signed an agreement that I wouldn't or be charged a hefty fee!!! Why would someone that works there say that and risk a customer being charged like that?? Made me feel like it was a shading place of business.

Review 100:The location was good

Review 101:The air conditioning unit did not work well - that's about it!

Review 102:The gals at the front desk are lovely and so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant Mgr., TJ, makes everyone feel right at home and has a wonderfuly sense of humor - kept everyone laughing and at ease. Hard worker.

Review 103:There were not a lot of places to eat reasonably close by this hotel. The front desk people however were helpful in helping us find one.

Review 104:The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Review 105:Puke stains on floor, hair in the clean towels, lack of shower curtain, elevator behind my bed

Review 106:One of the towels didn't have hair in it. That was kind of nice

Review 107:Staff wasn't knowledgeable. Couldn't give directions to hotel.Very unprofessional conduct and dress code. Lobby, elevator and halldirty. The room had a hole in the wall along with burn stains on thecounter in the bathroom. No manager on duty. Will never stay at thislocation again.

Review 108:The only thing bad about the hotel was its proximity to the rest of the things to do in the city. It seemed a little far from everything.

Review 109:The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Review 110:There is little in the way of facilities nearby; a couple of gas stations, a liquor store and a mart, with a waffle place across the highway.

Review 111:The location was very convenient, just off the Interstate, four miles from Memphis International and car rental return. There was a pool, good free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and helpful staff.

Review 112:Needs to be updated. Refrigerator froze everything, staff adjusted temperature, but didn't help. Phone light blinked for a message and nobody knew how to get it to stop, there wasn't any message.

Review 113:Convenient, central location. Nice, friendly staff. Clean.

Review 114:There were problems with our TV blacking out during shows for some reason.

Review 115:We were able to enjoy our vacation without using up all of our money on the hotel. The price was great and the front desk staff was really very nice. The gentleman at breakfast was very chatty and funny. We had a choice on which type of pillow to sleep on. A note indicated a choice of soft or firm.

Review 116:Smell, location, cleanliness of bedding, bathroom condition

Review 117:After seeing the star rating on Booking.com and the actual premises I was sorely disappointed. The facility appears nice from afar, but when you look at it in great detail it it obviously in need of a real renovation.

Review 118:The floor in pool area needs to be much cleaner. Around base boards was dirty. The pool was the reason we booked this hotel. Our four year old son couldn't wait to swim all weekend. We spent the majority of our time at the hotel in the pool of course

Review 119:The continental breakfast was fantastic!! The man who worked there said he has been doing this for 14 years and it showed! He was wonderful!!

Review 120:We had planned This trip to stay at Graceland. We stayed here for 2 nights then heartbreak hotel for 1 night. Let's just say the heartbreak hotel was heartbreaking!!! We wish we would have stayed the third night here. Staff was super friendly!

Review 121:People fighting in the passage opposite my room, this went on for about half hour before the police came. Cold water, unable to shower in the morning?

Review 122:Relayed several problems about the room that were not addressed. Actually talked to the manager about garbage in the hallway and his answer was"that is for the next shift." There was mold in the bathroom-no fixture on one of the electrical sockets- toilet seat was loose-housekeeping "HORRIBLE"

Review 123:The staff were pretty descent

Review 124:No paper for printing in business center. Had to log in at computer at front desk to print tickets.

Review 125:Traffic problems due to construction were easily averted with very helpful staff. Close to Graceland.

Review 126:The front desk was unmanned for a time. Staff was sitting in the back room and had to be called for for help. At breakfast, the breakfast staff were busy talking to each other. Both times we went up to get coffee the carafe was empty and we had to wait for them to make new coffee. They weren't attentive at all.

Review 127:I couldn't connect to the WiFi, but i do believe it was a deficiency with my cellular service not with the hotel.

Review 128:It was comfortable, staff was pleasant and helpful, It was centrally located, and the continental breakfast was A1!!!! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Review 129:The second floor smelled of mildew & was very humid. We had to switch rooms from a king & was given two double beds on the 1st floor. The carpet had a big red stain on it in the 1st floor room.

Review 130:The breakfast was adequate. The stay was overall pleasant. The staff was friendly.

Review 131:Electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work. Bedding was not very comfortable. Ice machine on our floor did not work. Found pizza on the floor behind the chair upon check in.

Review 132:Hotel looked nice in the pictures and was a good price.

Review 133:The fire alarm was triggered by the storm and the staff had some difficulty resetting it.

Review 134:Breakfast and the staff where both a delightful surprise for the price we paid. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The beds are comfortable and plenty of towels. We stayed twice and will be returning again.

Review 135:Thin walls and doors allowed you to hear loud arguments in the hallway. We heard people on top of us jumping/running/etc. A/C was loud.

Review 136:Well furnished clean rooms. Comfortable bed and pillows. Sausage gravy made breakfast more palatable.

Review 137:The room was very clean. The entire hotel was excellent
