Reviews for Whitney's Inn

Review 1:Would have liked the drape shorter over the A.C. to give complete privacy. When running, the drape had to be pushed aside for air resulting in an open view.

Review 2:Stayed mid-week, pre-foliage season, so not busy. We were upgraded to a King room. The bed was quite comfortable. The Inn is off the beaten path, but not too far. Would stay again.

Review 3:The Whitney Inn is a great place to lay your head. A quaint and cozy place in a picturesque location. Great if you don't want to stay in a crowded tourist town(North Conway area) and want some quiet seclusion in a beautiful area. Staff is friendly and approachable. The room was decorated with a rustic woodsy theme which was wonderful. Room was clean, with no odors, stains etc. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and again service was great. I really lucked out with this place. A+

Review 4:-Staff had "couldn't care less" attitude -On site restaurant was closed (which is a big deal given the super remote location) -Rooms dated and dirty

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:Great location. Great hotel. Great Staff so helpful. Truly memorable breakfasts cooked from fresh.... Enough to feed an army on my plate. Rustic charm of rooms. Great comfy and big beds. Complimentary hot chocolate and coffees with home made cookies. A great hotel to stay at and find yourself again with peace and quiet.

Review 7:The room we stayed in was tired and could have done with a refresh of paint also smelled musty.

Review 8:Plenty of room in the suite we stayed in for a family of four nice having separate sleeping areas

Review 9:Bathroom was a little small, otherwise everything was great.

Review 10:Very cute room. Comfortable with great ambience. Great staff...very welcoming and helpful. GREAT restaurant with tons of ambience attached to the inn. Beautiful scenery! Terrific breakfast!! Loved every minute of our stay.

Review 11:Our room #18 was small and stuffy, even with the window open the air was stale in the room. There was a strange odor in the room like a wet dog had just left there. Air conditioner was very noisy. In the AM when we opened the door the staff was very surprised to see us stating "Oh how did you get in there we thought the room was empty." Well Im glad there wasn't a fire, no one would have known we were there. Parking was a problem. We parked on the lawn because the pub was closed and the parking lot did not have a single light and we felt uncomfortable leaving the car and trying to walk to the Inn in the pitch black.

Review 12:Breakfast was great. The waiter was very polite and efficient. The food was delicious.

Review 13:The room was dark and dated but was in keeping with the ambience.

Review 14:We loved watching the hummingbirds whilst eating a freshly cooked breakfast. Having the Shovel Handle next door was great for dinner too. The room comfortable and clean. A lovely setting with a pond you can take boats out on and a small outdoor pool.

Review 15:Bed had plastic on it. We had a tough time sleeping comfortably.

Review 16:We thought this was the neatest place. We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the breakfast

Review 17:No wifi in out building,

Review 18:Clean and great location for day hikes

Review 19:Comfortable rooms, homemade cookies & hot chocolate upon arrival. Shovel Handle Pub--great!

Review 20:Comfortable rooms, outstanding staff, beautiful location. Food was delicious.

Review 21:room too small especially the bath room

Review 22:breakfast and location

Review 23:I like where it was. Very peaceful and serene. They had the best breakfast!!! I wish I had more time to spend there. It was just for one night.

Review 24:I wish the pub was open longer. Closing time on Thurs was 9:00.

Review 25:The pub was a fun place to be with entertainment.

Review 26:ROOM WAS NOT CLEAN

Review 27:We loved almost everything about this hotel. I totally disagree with the reviewer who said it was nothing like the pictures. It was exactly like the pictures and just as we expected - rustic but quaint and comfortable - and certainly not dirty as another reviewer said. When we arrived there was fresh apple juice and cookies waiting which was delicious. We did get a free upgrade to a king room, which was a nice surprise. We spent the whole evening in the adjacent Shovel Handle pub where the staff were most welcoming, the fire was lit and the beer and food were excellent. Breakfast was OK. Nothing special but fine. A fabulous night away in the white mountains. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others

Review 28:Deck had beer caps and empty water bottles on it and was not cleaned. Closet was off its hinges. Bathroom fan was dirty and did not work. TV remote didn't work. Outside fire pit had hay around it. One spark and you were the fire.

Review 29:Breakfast Bed and pillows

Review 30:Room was too small. We had to squeeze around bed, larger people would not have been able to. Bed was too hard and uncomfortable.

Review 31:The area, beautiful town. Breakfast. Attached pub. Friendly staff.

Review 32:The furniture is old and tired. The king bed mattress was uncomfortable and rolled the occupants toward the center. No sleeping within a foot of the edges

Review 33:Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast.

Review 34:Loved the setting. The room was cozy, however I did notice that there were dirty glasses that had been overlooked by housekeeping, under the bed. We would definitely go back.

Review 35:This was my third trip to Whitney'S. The first with the new owners. They need to re-open the game room for the kids downstairs and reopenthe dining room with a early seating for the kids and a later one forthe adults (while the kids are playing downstairs.)

Review 36:I liked the size of the rooms. I also liked being able to gather with myfamily in one of the sitting rooms. Of course the skiing was great. Thelift on the property needs to be reopened. So the kids and adults cansled after the lifts are closed.

Review 37:Staff not available, only one person who was on the phone.

Review 38:Restaurant next door

Review 39:It was a possible to hear noise from the rooms around and underneath us.

Review 40:The breakfast was excellent! The room was very clean, though not luxurious.

Review 41:Location

Review 42:Was only able to pick one item from the breakfast menu. Was not able to get on wi fi

Review 43:Staff friendliness Location Quaint

Review 44:Breakfast was wonderful as we watched the humming birds zip around.
