Reviews for Ferrari's Crown Motel
Review 1:Thin Walls, Noise from top floor, No Microwave, Pet poop in the parking lot!, Cost vs Value was less for a $100+ this hotel should cost less or at $75 but overpriced for the location!
Review 2:Good Staff, Quick Checkin, Free edible breakfast!, Private access to tahoe beach
Review 3:No bad exprerience, we ejoyed our stay and can hardly wait to do it again!
Review 4:This place is family friendly.I love that it has a mini kitchen in the room which was nice since Safeway was only 2 long blocks away, so we were able to cook daily. The location is great, it's right off the Lake on the beach. It snowed on our 2nd day which was beautiful, we had a white Christmas in a comfortable setting right on the beach at Lake Tahoe. Yes, I highly recommend it and I'll be back soon!
Review 5:When I booked the hotel, I specify two adults. But they assign me a Solotraveler room. They claimed there's no vacancy at the time I bookedso I book the last one (that's why). But when I arrived, there areplenty of empty rooms. But they want me to pay another 50% to get anupgrade. Not to mention that the lady at the office is not friendly andforgot to tell me the wifi password. I called from my room a few timesbut none in the office answers. Considering that I was paying more thana hundred, the whole experience is below the par. Fyi, the breakfast isa joke. I did not expect high end one, but the coffee and juice aredisgusting.
Review 6:The bathroom is tiny but clean.
Review 7:The breakfast facilities were fairly simple, but better than other motels we stayed in.
Review 8:This is a family run place in a stunning location right on the beach on the lake. We had a room with a lake view which is well worth it (some other rooms looked over the parking lot). We felt really at home, with a kitchenette and easy access to the lake.
Review 9:Wish shower would have had a caddy to hold soap and shampoo. Instead had to put them on shower floor.
Review 10:Great location and beach area. The room was dated but clean and staff friendly. Nice pool and hot tub area.
Review 11:State of Jacuzzi (terribly dirty water) and untidy pool area. Included breakfast really poor selection (Not even worth including in booking). Pillows in the room very uncomfortable.
Review 12:Location Great! Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
Review 13:Staff, the gentleman who checked us in was one of the most unfriendly, unapproachable people I have ever met. TV did not work the entire trip, the complimentary breakfast was open from 8-9:30.. When our alarm clock didn't work, because the wires were exposed, he said, "I'll give you a wake-up call" no replacement was offered. This is a place for families, not couples.
Review 14:The view. The view from our lake view room, which cost extra, was beautiful and the balcony was wonderful.
Review 15:The room was small, which we expected. However, there was too much furniture in it and you could barely move around. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom and the bathroom was tiny with a sliding door and no working fan. The toilet faced the bed and with a small bedroom and small bathroom the feeling was like being in a flop house not on vacation. The room was hot and stuffy and their was no air conditioning. You could not leave the windows and curtains open because the walkway to the rooms was small and went right by all the rooms on the second floor. The pool was pleasant and it was nice to sit by the pool and a table with an umbrella to have a drink and snack. The pillows were awful. Overall, the room was so uncomfortable that I would not stay here again.
Review 16:The location on the beach was great.
Review 17:Kids yelling in the pool area, 1960 decore, shower stall is a water closet!
Review 18:Bring your own pillows, steps to Lake Tahoe, short walk to Lanza's, excellent food and service!
Review 19:Location was perfect. Near the Stateline Casino area. Has a large beach and outdoor decks. Reminds me of motels of the 1960's when the family would pack up a station wagon and kids. Has a pool and hot tub as well.
Review 20:We were on our way up to Tahoe for our first big out of town date when my car broke down. By the time I tried to fix it and the time we got a friend to get us and have my car towed back it was very late. We never made it to the hotel, but I was still charged. :( I just wish I could have made it up there.
Review 21:I don't call fruit loops, raisin bread and hot chocolate a great start to the day - which is about all that was offered. Yes, there were some bagels and sugary oatmeal as well, but this breakfast would be called continental breakfast, not breakfast. If I recall correctly, Ferrari's used to offer make your own Belgian waffles, assorted yogurts and hard boiled eggs. This is pretty much the standard at hotels in this price range, so I would expect it. My kids can't start the day with what was offered. Additionally, and I'm thinking this might have only been because it was early in the season, there were school kids taking swim lessons all morning, monopolizing the pool.
Review 22:Location on water perfect for young children's activities, clean facilities, community barbecues, nice staff. Ferrari's is awesome, just need to improve their breakfast.
Review 23:The pillows are very uncomfortable. There are no comfortable accommodations for smokers during the inclimate weather. This is for all practical puposes a nonsmoking facility. Non-Lakeview units are small but adequate.
Review 24:This property is clean and well located right on the beach. For a resonable price in that area you can have a lakeview room with kitchenette. Nice, simple, no frills Hotel for reasonable price.
Review 25:Bed was uncomfortable old and springy, pillows were so flat they were pointless, the room we initially booked was nothing like the pictures and reminded me of a place drug addicts go to overdose. We did upgrade, but for a few extra bucks couldve stayed in a very comfortable king suite down the road. Definately not coming back.
Review 26:Leaving
Review 27:Noise from the highway and nearby rooms comes unabated through every fiber of this place. If you're in a downstairs room forget it, you can only sleep when your upstairs neighbor sleeps. Old RCA tube TV (better not have one), old wall heaters doesn't work properly, and WIFI just does not work in average rooms. Supper disappointed. I''m sure the few lake front rooms may be better. Staff just doesn't care much if you're there or not.
Review 28:Location
Review 29:Very old and our room smelled funny. Kind of a weird layout. Bed was pretty hard and sheets were old.
Review 30:Nice enough place with great views of Lake Tahoe. Nothing fantastic but nothing horrible either.
Review 31:Continental breakfast was all carbs. Unhealthy cereal, instant oatmeal, and a variety of toast. ugh. Only one breakfast place in town so heads up it is a long wait at The Log Cabin. You can always go to the casinos north from there I guess.
Review 32:LOVED the location. Right on the beach. I could just walk out at dawn and enjoly the still expanse of the lake and soak in the serenity. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Discount on paddleboard rentals if staying here. Within walking distance of everything. Heater was a little gas fireplace. Kinda cute very effective.
Review 33:The beds were horrible! The pillows were horrible.. I woke up with a neck ache everyday! The coffee machine was old looking as well as the fridge and micro-wave. I think for the price.. The inside could have been a lot less like a motel 6.. Sorry
Review 34:Location!!
Review 35:construction all around and the place had no charm and was overpriced for the small room and delapadated surroundings
Review 36:location and they made a exception for us to have our very well behaved dogs
Review 37:pillows not great. free breakfast consisted only of bread not even any fruit.
Review 38:great location, right on the beach and next to any type of store, resturant or bar you could want. room was okey. had a cool bbq area right on the beach
Review 39:- noise (because room located close to the main road). If you can, book a room that faces the beach. - breakfast (starts from 8am) and very few stuff to eat/drink
Review 40:- location (right on the beach) - facilities
Review 41:The staff was rude and told us because we booked with booking.com that we were not eligible for a room with a view. We were stuck directly over the check in office in a noisy, cramped room with no air conditioner. The bed had a pubic hair on the sheet, the nasty carpet was filthy, the volume on the old tv no longer worked and the sink practically hangs over the toilet in the small bathroom. Bad experience!
Review 42:I have been coming here since I was a child with my parents and now I bring my family. The hotel is exceptionally clean and ran by a wonderful family. We will always return!
Review 43:very old and very, very small bathroom. I could actually sit on the toilet and brush my teeth. My knees went under the sink when doing my business. The "breakfast" included coffee (no de caf available), what seemed to be day old frozen bagels, wheat bread and English muffins. Juices were available. No fruit, or eggs, or meat of any kind. The pillows could have been just a little bit better. The TV sound kept going off (just as the program was getting good!) had to call front desk 3 times to come fix it. The man who came said we were not the only ones having trouble, so it sounded like a Comcast problem. It got fixed the morning we were leaving. Lots of tweens and younger teenagers running around until about 11pm, that's not a big deal tho.....old!!! and not remodeled in any way we could see!
Review 44:free wifi, location, the staff was kind and friendly and business like.
Review 45:The only thing I have to say about what I didn't like was that there wasn't air conditioning. But the two fans provided were sufficient for the weather outside (mid Aug). I'm not familiar with the weather in Tahoe, all I know is that it gets really cold here in the winter and there is a built in wall heater which I feel would be sufficient if I was staying here during that season. Over all not much to dislike about this hotel. Oh, the one day I needed an iron for my blouse and they don't have one available in the room.
Review 46:I liked this hotel because it was inexpensive and when your on a budget this place is perfect. I was taking my daughter to Sierra Nevada college and it was minutes away from there. The area was full of restaurants and a rite aid was conviently across the street, so there was no need to drive through town. Our room was steps away from the pool and beach area. I felt it was definitely worth the money. I had seen great reviews online and chose this hotel over others. They provide and small fridge and coffee maker which was conveint to have. I would return here again and have already recommended it to my friends. Our cost of the room also included acontinental breakfast which we couldn't take advantage of because we left very early.
Review 47:We could hear the guess's voice and laughing next to our room at 1am. I don't know if they talked too loud or the wall is not thick enough. If you travel with kids who need pre-cooked homemade food, I would recommend that you don't get the standard room. The room, that we stayed, do not have a microwave or an iron.
Review 48:Right on the beach. They have swimming pools and hot tubs, a "football table" and ping pong table. It closes to Safeway, Rite Aid, and restaurants. It is located 15 minutes away from Truckee and Tahoe City. The staff is nice.
Review 49:Nice to get a room without a minimum stay
Review 50:Location is great!
Review 51:The room was not completely insulated. You can see a large gap at the door letting the cold inside.
Review 52:Lake view
Review 53:Extensive Road works outside motel. Would not have booked if known beforehand.
Review 54:O complaints
Review 55:Location and just everything
Review 56:On the water.
Review 57:Internet connection was not sting at all
Review 58:noise at night
Review 59:Close to beach
Review 60:Location! Location! Perfect setting.
Review 61:No complaints.
Review 62:It was really quiet and we really enjoyed staying here. Room was great. Being on the beach was amazing!
Review 63:moldy smell
Review 64:No air conditioning
Review 65:Location to the beach
Review 66:Our room was small with only one window overlooking the parking lot. It got hot at night.
Review 67:Right on Lake Tahoe. Staff helpful and friendly.
Review 68:Just a little bit antiquated. Would like to see rooms updated for the price.
Review 69:Rooms were clean, staff was friendly.
Review 70:Spa was dirty and the beds weren't very comfortable :(
Review 71:Family friendly atmosphere. So close to the beach!
Review 72:Wifi was intermittent
Review 73:Clean comfortable beautiful view. Friendly staff!
Review 74:Miguel upgraded our room for us, while I expected to pay, he did not charge us. All staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 75:The man that checked us in was very rude my father checked out and said the lady was very nice/
Review 76:The view of the lake is pricless
Review 77:We liked everything.
Review 78:Everything was awsome just wifi was a little slow
Review 79:Sound traveled real well through the walls.
Review 80:The location right in town.
Review 81:Place was dated, needs to be updated. Also you need to stand in parking lot to use wifi.
Review 82:Lil bit dated.
Review 83:The view and the beach!!!
Review 84:Burining ourselves in the shower with cold to extremely HOT water.
Review 85:The price. Old TV. Small room. Small second bed. Tiny and noise heater.
Review 86:!0 pm is quiet time and they enforce the rule...nice! Beach is great. Great food is close. Front desk is laid back and professional
Review 87:Small room. Local roadworks noisy - not the hotel's fault I acknowledge.
Review 88:Good location. Comfortable bed. Newly refurbished bathroom.
Review 89:kindness of staff. Becky kept my room spotless for 6 days
Review 90:Thin walls , noisy.
Review 91:Easy to book, clean , great location, everything worked.
Review 92:your can. policy
Review 93:on lake great veiw
Review 94:Green light above TV, gift envelope for housekeeping
Review 95:Stunning views, good local facilities. Breakfast was included in rate.
Review 96:No aircon. Limited breakfast.
Review 97:Having to leave.
Review 98:A little slice of old fashioned vacation without the glitter. Beach, fun up-class people and Gods view of beauty.
Review 99:No ac but didn't really need it
Review 100:Very clean bathroom
Review 101:Lost of Bugs in the room. Carpet didn't seem clean
Review 102:Location is nice.
Review 103:The rooms are smaller than modern offerings. We booked a dual queen, and they felt ok in "upgrading" us to a twin/king suite. For us it was not an upgrade, as my daughter was too afraid to sleep in the side room alone and we all ended up in the one king bed.
Review 104:The hotel is an older North Tahoe motel (actually a couple merged) from the North Shore's glory days. It shows it's age, but they have done a good job keeping it up. It is not fancy or modern, but it is clean and works as a base from which to enjoy the North Shore area. The place felt very casual, almost lost in time among the collection of corporate offerings that are available in most destinations. Even the TVs are older tube sets (not HD) and seem to default to a station that plays old 60's and early 70 sitcoms. Other than the WiFi, there was little about this hotel that indicated it was later than 1975. But again, it was clean, well maintained, and decently priced.
Review 105:The breakfast was mediocre, along the lines of what you would find at Travelodge.
Review 106:The place has got a casual, family-friendly feel which I appreciated. The lakefront view is great. They have a private hot tub that guests can reserve for half an hour with a lake view, and a ping pong table with view as well. Staff was super friendly. I'll definitely return, and recommend this motel to my friends.
Review 107:The staff was very accommodating and friendly. (I changed my room twice, once before getting there and once upon arrival) The room was spacious and clean. They even gave make-up remover towelettes with the soap and shampoo. The pools and hot tubs and the grounds were clean. The location couldn't have been better, plus you are right on the beach. They give you extra towels for the hot tubs. The beds were comfortable. Everything was great. I'll definitely be back. Overall it was perfect!
Review 108:They like to start room cleaning / changeover / gardening early in the day - so there can be a feeling of being rushed to leave on departure day.
Review 109:Great place to stay in North Shore. The lake view rooms are right on the beach. The facilities are great - pool, spa, B-B-Q, lounge chairs, beds, kitchens are perfect for a longer stay. This is my go-to place when I visit Lake Tahoe!
Review 110:No AC (fan only) Cannot call front desk from room (in person only) Old mattress (sunk in the middle) Bathroom (sink and toilet overlapped) have to slide in/out, others may be different Breakfast, continental style but without hard-broil eggs & fresh fruits 1950 style motel with ongoing TLC Illustrated photos is better than in person It is a shame to see such prime location cannot be housing better quality accommodations. I notice similar motels have less to offer along the same section of North Lake Boulevard. Maybe this neighborhood is targeted a particular clientele.
Review 111:Location, budget friendly, family style.
Review 112:the wifi is a bit rubbish, my connection kept dropping. I think the prices are a little bit steep
Review 113:Lovely hotel, perfect location. The rooms are much nicer than the photos show. It feels like a place from another era but it a good way
Review 114:It's very nice that they offered breakfast and it was laid out well, but it was basic low quality instant-type food.
Review 115:The staff was very attentive and friendly. The property has direct access to the beach and the view of the lake is out of this world. We loved that we could book a private hot tub in the evenings, and they even gave us towels for it.
Review 116:No microwave oven in the room although it was announced rooms that areclose to the road are very noisy
Review 117:Good breakfast in the first room they gave us wi-fi hardly gotconnected, but after 10 min discussion they agreed to chenge the room& it helped
Review 118:Poor breakfast, small room, noisy aircon, generally a bit run down. The Californians have destroyed the Tahoe shore with development - go to the Nevada side.
Review 119:Value for money, lakeside position
Review 120:Upon check in I was told our room was one driveway over; I was not told it was a motel with a different name that they had purchased; so we thought we were at the wrong place and had to find someone to explain that it was indeed the right place. Also, the beds were SO UNCOMFORTABLE that I will never go there again! The worst I've ever experienced. We hardly slept, they were that bad.
Review 121:Very clean!
Review 122:This hotel is right on the beach at Lake Tahoe - gorgeous. We had booked a standard room but I told Miguel at the desk it was my birthday so he upgraded us to a lakefront room at no extra charge!! So sweet!
Review 123:The continental breakfast was very basic
Review 124:This is a very basic motel but the location is great. It has two pools & is right on the lake with a sandy beach. Bring your own drinks & snacks for sun downers as there are no facilities. Basic continental breakfast which I would prefer not to pay for. Alright for a night or two but that would be enough
Review 125:The second floor walkway going up to room 526. The walkway dips and is very scary when you are walking down the hall with an armful of luggage and it catches you by surprise.
Review 126:rooms were tiny, few amenities, breakfast was meager and staff were either uniformed or not interested.
Review 127:excellent location, reasonable price, refrigerator in room, free wi-fi
Review 128:Nothing major; just some minor issues: Minimal continental breakfast. Two dry cereals, instant oatmeal, plain bagels and English muffins, cinamon raisin bread, yogurt, oj and apple juice. Could use some fruit, hard boiled eggs or something. However, it was very well managed byfriendly, attentive young ladies. The outdoor hot tub was a bit dingybut the pools were nice. Wifi a bit tempermental (but functional withpersistence.)
Review 129:Right on the lake! Gorgeous! Very nice room (better than the pictureslooked online) with kitchenette (plates, bowls, colander, pans, mugs, plastic cups, utensils, no measuring cups/spoons), 2 burner stove& microwave. Very clean and quiet (older building= betterconstruction). Rite Aid across the street, Safeway less than a blockaway. Great beach front property. Lots of food/dining options. Closeto lots of fun. Would definitely stay here again if/when we comeback to Tahoe.
