Reviews for The Wentworth
Review 1:At dinner, waitress's manner and attitude could improve. When asked a question, her response was questionable and could have been handled more professionally.
Review 2:Package deal - lodging & excellent food
Review 3:Hotel itself is in need of TLC. Feels dated and a bit creepy. Unwelcoming feeling on entering. Bedroom qiute dark, no atmosophere in bar area.
Review 4:Picturesque setting, good choice at breakfast in a nice dining room.
Review 5:My husband and I stayed for our 30th wedding anniversary and we both immediately felt welcomed when we arrived. The whole experience was way more than what we expected. Staff, cleanliness and comfort were top notch.
Review 6:The lamp kept flickering on and off in my room, the Keurig coffee maker was sensitive to operate. I had to have the front desk to get someone to kill 2 flies in my room. Overall not bad but the rug in the room needs to be replaced.
Review 7:The breakfast included was delicious and waiter was attentive. Also, the bar was very comfortable to have a drink and the bartender was very experienced and took pride in all his cocktails.
Review 8:The TV cable set up could be better.
Review 9:Welcoming, professional staff. The room was warm, comfortable, clean and relaxing. The added country style breakfast has good variety and quality food.
Review 10:I should have booked a room with a hot tub
Review 11:Jackson is a beautiful secluded location and facilitates real relaxation. The spacious hall way in front of real log fire were wonderful. The breakfast and dinner were first class
Review 12:The room I stayed in had an annoying buzzing sound from outside equipment that continued all night every night. I mentioned this to the front desk but nothing changed. I had to wear earplugs to sleep.
Review 13:This is a nice looking hotel.
Review 14:Except we had a couple of clog dancing elephants upstairs on our stay. Goodness knows what they were doing until the early hours. They didn't look like the average Wentworth resident, so I think you are likely not to get so inconsiderate guests above you should you stay. Would stay again!
Review 15:About all!
Review 16:Very poor WiFi, too many multiple networks within hotel, all of which jumped around confusing our devices. Come on, it's hardly rocket science to make WiFi work properly !.
Review 17:Good location, did the job, we were there three nights,
Review 18:The king bed says jacuzzi tub included,Ours did not! The restaurant staff was condescending. Very uncomfortable, was hard to enjoy our meal.
Review 19:Bed was comfortable.
Review 20:Great location for exploring the White Mountains. Quiet surroundings, able to set on the front porch and enjoy the evening. Breakfast choices were numerous and of excellent quality.
Review 21:Only downside- walking up to third floor, but honestly, it was good for us :) Also, I regret not booking a room with a hot tub/jacuzzi (next time!).
Review 22:I loved the whole ambiance. My husband and I wanted to go someplace quiet and intimate for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The dinner at the restaurant was top notch and the breakfast, excellent!! I really loved the lounge as well-only wish we spent more time there!
Review 23:unfortunately the air conditioning system did not work and it was impossible to keep cold air from being blown in. coldest hotel room ever experienced, needed extra blankets in the middle of summer. should be easy to fix.
Review 24:almost everything was superb. very good dinner menu -- big choice, good portions, all nicely presented -- and excellent value. breakfast was very good too, plenty of choice and delicious. garden around the hotel was very pleasant. quiet, no traffic noise at all.
Review 25:Breakfast could have been a little earlier, say 7am, but otherwise, nothing negative.
Review 26:Beautiful location and grounds outside were superb too, lovely running stream near-by; overall standard of accommodation was excellent; staff were helpful; the meals were well above standard and we really appreciated and enjoyed the difference; we loved this place and would stay there again without any doubt; good value too.
Review 27:The pool was under construction and we didn't know/no notice. We had a child and we didn't stay.
Review 28:The kindness of the staff and receptionist.
Review 29:It is an older hotel, which appears to be undergoing some renovations. Once those are completed it will be better, but there were a few small things which were broken in our room (we weren't around enough to bother to ask to have them fixed). And just know that being the type of property it is, it is quiet and the lobby/bar empty and closed early in the evening.
Review 30:It was a nice location, a quiet peaceful getaway, and overall we really liked it. We weren't looking for much, we don't spend much time in our rooms while on vacation and it was nicely centrally located for our activities - Mt Washington and North Conway.
Review 31:Limited power plugs for electronics. On two occasions we went to the beer for a drink. We were not able to get service. The bartender left the bar area saying she would return and after 10 minutes, and still no service we left and went down the street for a drink.
Review 32:Love the beds. Very as accommodating staff.
Review 33:Nothing, keep The Wentworth just the way it is
Review 34:Room was comfortable and quaint, breakfast was out of this world good, and included! People were friendly, relaxed...enjoyed the workout room, too. Walked to dinner, close to hiking, wonderful weekend.
Review 35:This was so relaxed and we were included in a local event and loaned umbrellas against the heavy rain. The fire in the lounge was great when it rained heavily and given coffee. A really lovely stay
Review 36:We checked into room 318. A couple of other people were at the desk trying to change their rooms. I decided to make the best of it. The room needed small repairs and a good paint job. The ceiling was slanted nearly 1/2 way into the room and my husband hit his head. The bathroom was very large. The claw foot tube could use a bit of attention as well. This facility is historic and beautiful, but not, however, if you stay in room 318.
Review 37:The last evening I explained to the desk clerk that we were very disappointed in our room as we were celebrating a special anniversary. We were switched to room 333. Wow! It was a newly remodeled suite and really made us feel special. The staff was always great. Breakfast was included and was very good. They even have gluten free options. Don't forget to go up the street a little further and see the falls, etc. It was the prettiest part of the trip and we almost missed it!
Review 38:No elevator. Everything could use a thorough dusting.
Review 39:Location, helpful staff, grand hotel atmosphere. Especially liked our dining room waitress (Meghan).
Review 40:Not enough parking. A member of the reception staff was very rude when we declined booking a table for our evening meal in their restaurant! Some restaurant staff were also a bit snooty at breakfast too!! The Wifi was not very good at all. The pool was closed for the season even though when we were there the temperatures were in the 80s. The lighting in our room was poor - we only had 2 bedside lights. Would not stay there again even though we liked the area.
Review 41:The hotel is well located for Jackson falls and Mount Washington.
Review 42:The only complaint was the mattress. It was extremely lumpy and worn out. My back was in pain after sleeping on it. It is time to update the mattress, everything else was fantastic.
Review 43:The location was awesome as we have been coming to Jackson for 3 years during the Fall Foliage & Pumpkin Festival. The room was fantastic and the fireplace was a bonus.
Review 44:Bathroom very small Room was very small and noisy Bed was so uncomfortable Mold in the closet Not worth $200 a night Breakfast was not great
Review 45:Stayed there before and we had a wonderful room for the money But no this time, the room was horrible not worth the money. We were only given $50 off per night
Review 46:The food was excellent at breakfast and in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Felt like we were staying in someone's mansion rather then in a hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Lovely quiet peaceful location.
Review 47:It is a very basic hotel. No elevator, and food portions are just ok. Very clean and staff was very friendly. The wifi was pretty lousy, even with 3 options - got on at one point but was so slow nothing worked.
Review 48:It was very close to Storyland which is where we went during the day.
Review 49:Our bed was pretty bad. Need to replace it. Rm 321. Need better access to pool from main bldg.
Review 50:Great front porch. Location was great. Front desk was very helpful.
Review 51:- Noise throughout building. Floors that transmitted sound. Doors that clanged in their frames whenever someone came in/went out. - Toilets that flush like bombs exploding , so a flush in next room could wake us downstairs. - Construction in middle of facility. - Gigantic hot tub is waste of space in July. - Too expensive for this area. - A/C went from too hot to too cold and just waited for it to get too hot again before coming back on.
Review 52:- Location was great. - Breakfast was excellent and a real value.
Review 53:Air Conditioning would keep the room cool at night....
Review 54:We loved the golf course and the friendly staff, loved the breakfast, enjoyed the pool but it really needs updating.... Loved the upgrade to a King-Size bed... Thanks so much...
Review 55:not a bad thing, but they did not have chivas scotch in stock
Review 56:the location is wonderful. the food was outstanding. the staff was so helpful
Review 57:Everything went well and there was no problems.
Review 58:The room and the breakfast, and the bartender!
Review 59:Great location and wonderful things to do near by.
Review 60:Our bed was so high my husband who is disabled could not climb up into it

Review 62:No lift/elevator which some travellers should be aware of.
Review 63:A classy place to stay.Welcoming staff, great extensive breakfast menu.
Review 64:No elevator for upper floors.
Review 65:Good location and comfortable rooms. An excellent breakfast was provided.
Review 66:Beautiful inside and out and the food was very good! Really loved the room which included a private porch and fireplace!
Review 67:Very good restaurant, nice staff, comfortable and in a sweet small village
Review 68:Things need to work. It shouldn't take two of you to close a door.
Review 69:Location, brilliant breakfast.
Review 70:Very
Review 71:Very small room.
Review 72:Delicious cuisine Very nice surroundings
Review 73:Would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in room
Review 74:Location, weather, comfort of the bed and complimentary sit down breakfast.
Review 75:My husband has mobility issues after a stroke, and the staff was most accommodating, which we both appreciated immensely.
Review 76:We enjoyed every thing about our stay.from soup to nuts
Review 77:The historic hotel grounds and setting were serene and beautiful.
Review 78:Nothing

Review 90:Staff was wonderful! Breakfast was amazing! Room was warm & cozy!
Review 91:you can't find the thermostat in the room
Review 92:Very helpful staff, fabulous location and a great breakfast !
Review 93:Exceptional room facilities. Very good meals Extremely good location
Review 94:breakfast was excellent. room was clean and comfortable.
Review 95:I was very satisfied with my stay. I thought the dinner was excellent. The serving portions were smaller than I would have liked, but that's typical of upscale dining.
Review 96:The WiFi could be improved in the outer buildings.
Review 97:Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was excellent. The staff is responsive and accommodating. In an old inn, there is always concern about the inn being maintained and upgraded. We have visited many old inns and witnessed that there were things that needed to be upgraded. The Wentworth is in a class by itself,The facility is extremely well maintained and pristine .
Review 98:This is an old historic group of buildings. Rooms are small and not quiet. Our room was rather musty. So long as you know what to expect, you will like this hotel if you want a quaint, old, historic hotel.
Review 99:The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The historic inn was lovely. The restaurant served a wonderful breakfast. Beautiful setting.
Review 100:Staff was very friendly and helpful - made you feel welcome. And it had the feel of an old country inn, which was very enjoyable. The facilities were very good and comfortable.
Review 101:Rain for part of our stay - clearly not the resort's fault, and the resort provided umbrellas where needed.
Review 102:Staff friendliness; very good food; attention to detail by staff; comfortable rooms and hotel environment; overall feeling of elegance without stuffiness. We were never rushed to do anything. A wonderful few days.
Review 103:Can't think of anything.
Review 104:Exactly what we wanted. Situated within easy reach of the mountains and area around Jackson. It had a very individual feel about it and it was decorated in a very tasteful way. Typical of the type of accomodation we were hoping for. Breakfast was delicious and lots of variation in choice.
Review 105:Our room was quite small and the mattress was not very comfortable.
Review 106:Staff was wonderful and very welcoming. We had breakfast each morning and the food and service was great. Just a relaxing, terrific weekend in the mountains of NH.
Review 107:It felt like being in a time warp from the 50's. the place seemed to be without any soul or buzz. Maybe it's where old Golfers go to wait for the heavenly call. We did not eat in the dining room as it too looked soulless and sterile so cannot comment on the food. We were disappointed by the croissants at breakfast which were cold and stodgy. Rooms were small and dated.
Review 108:Service was very friendly, the hotel was clean,
Review 109:The decor was outdated, and the shower glass door was too short for mytall husband. Also, there was no easily accessible plug to charge ourphones. The breakfast buffet, while well prepared, could have usedmuffins and toast as well.
Review 110:I liked the clean room, good mattress, and privacy of our room.Breakfast was delicious and was nice to have an entree and a breakfastbuffet included.
Review 111:The heat and ac system comes on repeatedly in short spurts. The quiet but frequent noise kept us awake.
Review 112:This place is so elegant and beautiful. We love the Fairlawn suites.
Review 113:Our bartender was not available or too friendly my sister's wedding was held here it was an open bar and he frequently was disapering also not a large selection of drinks he had no orange juice....
Review 114:very comfortable....relaxing beautifully decorated.quiet the cutest little town its located in. many photo ops close to everything rooms clean gorgeous view comfy beds
Review 115:my only complaint was the bed was not that comfortable, the room was terrific so i just sucked it up i have stayed here before I love this place and recommend it often as I work for AAA
Review 116:I love the location the ambiance and the staff. Oh I love the food also
Review 117:The breakfast lacked an edge, not at par with the gourmet level of the dinner. A larger buffet would have been better. The rooms were a little below the standard I expected. Looked like they needed a little TLC. The library was seriously lacking in reading material (magazines, books on the local history, etc. would have been in place.)
Review 118:The dinner. The bar. The atmosphere, look of the place. The waiting staff and barman were all super friendly and professional.
Review 119:We had to go home!
Review 120:Food was fabulous & staff was so friendly. Location was beautiful.
Review 121:Very helpful with accommodations for medical need, switched rooms to meet need. Beautiful room
Review 122:The room was awesome! Will be back!
