Reviews for STF Jumbo Stay Stockholm
Review 1:Too expensive for the size of room, the condition of the rooms (really needed some TLC) and quite tricky to get to from Bus in snow.
Review 2:Quirky setting of course, and v friendly staff
Review 3:A bit of a lack of storage for clothes and case, but it is an aeroplane!
Review 4:Staff were the best, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Free bus to / from the airport is a bonus
Review 5:Great atmosphere and very chatty receptionist. Very clean and close to the airport. Note receptionist will try to talk you into not sharing the room by paying extra and blocking the room, breakfast included though.
Review 6:The room is very small... If the room is full (4 people) probably there's no space for the luggage... And they don't have lockers.
Review 7:The attendant Linda was very kind and clarified all my questions.... Thanks!!
Review 8:This is a glorified youth hostel for aircraft aficionados. The only thing truly original about the aircraft is the exterior fuselage, as the interior has been completely remodeled & could be the interior of any average building. Not even the original interior wall panels of the 747-200 are left, so what remains doesn't feel like the aircraft. I stayed in the former wheel well of the aircraft, and the only sign that the room had once been the wheel well was the aluminum flooring. The space was cramped, without a shower & I had to crawl up into the bunkbed via a ladder, which is why I wouldn't recommend this room for the elderly or individuals who have difficulty moving about.
Review 9:The close proximity to the airport before a morning flight.
Review 10:The room didnt have a curtain and I had to treck ages to get to a shower and toilet. Also it is by the airport so it was pretty noisy, but what do you expect? haha
Review 11:The fact that I slept in a former jet engine of a 747! That is pretty awesome. Also very handy for Stockholm Airport, free shuttle bus right outside.
Review 12:Wheel well cabin is tiny, terrible air vent on the wall blowing constantly cold air, poor selection for breakfast at 9 am.
Review 13:Interesting hostel. Free shuttle bus (Alfa, yellow bus), proximity to airport, cleanliness, good wifi.
Review 14:Wifi in the engine room is poor.
Review 15:Cool concept, once in a lifetime experience. Excellent staff, very enthusiastic and helpful. Easy access via Alfa bus from ARN.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:We stay one night just to catch an early flight. There is a convenient shuttle bus (Alfa) every 15 min from/to Arlanda airport and take 5-10 min to arrive. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. The hotel was quirky and clean. Really good breakfast!I will be back.
Review 18:trash can in the turbine room and better wlan connection in there would have put my rating up to 10.0
Review 19:An experience! Have to stay here when coming to stockholm. clean, comfortable, very nice staff had an awesome night in the turbine-room.
Review 20:I booked this last minute and liked the uniqueness of the accommodation. It was quirky like me :) and had everything j need. One of My best hostel experience!
Review 21:Nope, nothing negative to report at all.
Review 22:It's incredibly cool to be in such a place. It's an amazing machine so it's a privilege to see it from the inside in ways you never would as a passenger. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - you will never find such hospitality at a normal hotel. It won't be for everyone but if you like novelty in your travels, you have to check this place out.
Review 23:Don't recommmend to people with claustrafobia (not my case, but may be imoortant for someone).
Review 24:Location is perfect! Atmosphere is quite interesting, however you may have too much airplanes in your life if you are planning transcontinental flight next morning.
Review 25:No window blinds on either the small window of the glass in the door of the Engine Turbine acc.
Review 26:Good location a short shuttle ride (free of charge) to the terminals. Very friendly staff, clean facilities and surprisingly comfortable bed
Review 27:Amazing place. Free Shuttle Bus to the airport (taeks around 3 minutes to go to the airport). Convenient connections to the city center from the airport.
Review 28:Waking up in the cockpit was a wonderful experience. Extremely friendly staff, perfect location for early flights (less than 5 minutes from the airport!), and a great traditional Scandinavian breakfast. Other thoughts: Despite its proximity to the airport, we did not wake up to jet noise. Walking out on the wing and using the picnic tables is a great way to have lunch!
Review 29:Little bit on the cold side in the engine cabin, and some curtains would have been nice.
Review 30:Fun and unusual. Staff very pleasant, facilities very clean, bed very comfortable.
Review 31:Was only staying one night
Review 32:Very convenient if staying overnight, direct free Bus ride to location; accommodations very well maintained, Impressive all around, especially cool considering it is a converted 748
Review 33:Dorms are way too tight. I shared a space with 4 people and if I wanted to get up/down to the upper deck of the bed, if the ladder was on the other side, it was a real struggle. Not worth the value of the room.
Review 34:Novelty.
Review 35:The unique experience of staying in a jumbo jet was amazing. Accommodation was well done with as many original features as possible & the little "extras" like staff in pilot's uniforms made the whole experience more enjoyable and different.
Review 36:It was very cold and there was a continuous noise all night.
Review 37:The originality of the place and the convenience to arrive if you flight was late at night.
Review 38:I just found it a bit expensive for the small rooms and shared bathrooms.
Review 39:I liked the fun aspect of the plane, as well as the great location and the easy airport transfer. Also, the breakfast being offered from 3 am and on was wonderful with an early flight.
Review 40:Instructions on how to access the property from the airport were unclear. The bathrooms were subpar, everything got very wet and stayed wet as soon as the first person took a shower. It would have been nice to have a fan or something in the rooms - the windows didn't open and the air got quite stagnant.
Review 41:However, the facility was very interesting and it was conveniently located near the airport. The beds were quite comfortable and the staff was friendly. We loved going out onto the wing and it was neat to be able to stay in a converted plane.
Review 42:I was not clear about 3 other guests in the same room come in different times of the night, i barely got 2 hours sleep. .Bear in mind for female travelers from a very conservative society, you will see men roaming hallways at 3 am or anytime of the night with their jockeys or briefs on. I thought it will be more considerate to women if they at least cover themselves with towel. This made me so uneasy
Review 43:very close to the airport especially if your flight is early morning. The shuttle service is excellent
Review 44:Showers/toilets are a bit unwieldy. Again, not unexpected but did make it difficult to prepare in the morning.
Review 45:Very unique hotel/hostel, great for an overnight. Rooms aren't very big, which is expected, but are perfectly comfortable for one night. Location is great, just down the road from Arlanda Airport, with a free shuttle to the terminals.
Review 46:I got the room under the wheel. It has a private toilette but there is no mirror (I cannot shave by memory!). The curtain in the door is short, and someone from outside could see me inside: I did not feel in a private place. The biggest inconvenient: to take a shower, or to go for the breakfast you need to walk outside about 50 meters, which it is not convenient if it is raining or snowing.
Review 47:Very close to the airport.
Review 48:Definitely a great experience, kind staff, lift was working, receptionist asked me what time I wanted to have breakfast so that they could make sure there were some left. Clean, cosy rooms, I stayed in a 3 bed room with windows. Airport bus ALFA takes you to the terminals in 10 minutes, super close to the airport and a great experience overall, would recommend
Review 49:It's a bit cramped to get to the bathroom in the cockpit suite.
Review 50:A unique experience, sleeping in the cockpit of a 747. We had the whole upstairs, including the first class lounge and an exterior observation deck. The staff was wonderful. Recommended highly for aviation buffs.
Review 51:Swishy bed. Corridor floors transmit footstep noise, even though shoes are taken off at the door.
Review 52:Surprisingly good sleep. The planes were not noisy, staff mostly very friendly, fun place to stay. Extremely convenient to get to, on the free ALFA bus
Review 53:Relatively expensive for a very small room.
Review 54:Original flewed Jumbo Jet in very good condition and a lot of details to the the aircraft and it´s history. A must for aviation fanatics !!! Friendly and wonderful personal. Top locarion at the Arlanda airport of Stockholm
Review 55:there were no disposable razors available. I only had a hand luggage with me and razors are not allowed aboard a plane. so I was hoping the hotel could provide them, but they didn't :(
Review 56:The room was not very spacious, so I had to leave my luggage out of the room.
Review 57:I liked the whole concept of using an old plane as a hostel, it was quite adventurous! And Jumbo stay's location is very convenient for people with early morning flights as it is near the airport. The staff was friendly and I really enjoyed the WiFi connection. I shared the room with three other ladies and they were respectful. I had quite a good experience.
Review 58:The bathroom and shared rooms are very small. However, that should be expected and not that big of a deal if you're only there for a short stay.
Review 59:The price and location are a great value. The staff is great and it's a great quirky place to stay. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Review 60:The rooms are small and you have to go down hall to shared bathroom although there was always a bathroom/shower available when I needed one. price seems kinda high for a bunk room/shared bath although I guess your paying for the uniqueness of staying in a Jumbo Jet.
Review 61:The breakfast is good and served early for those early flights - very appreciated. We came in late and had an early flight so this was a very convenient place to stay at airport although we had 3 persons bunk rooms - not the best for an all adult group but we made do. The "deck" out on the wing was neat to walk out on.
Review 62:The breakfast starts at 3am, but its what you'd expect from a free breakfast, rolls, cheese yoghurt, coffee and juice. I booked late and paid £69/night, which is pricey for a non-ensuite room.
Review 63:It's fun, its perfect for those flying out of Arlanda early the next day. Just take the free ALFA car park bus to the terminal. Its quiet, the staff are friendly, and its spotlessly clean.
Review 64:Do not ask for a wake-up call.
Review 65:Love the quirky experience and staff is very sweet. If you stay overnight, you get free walk on the wing and see the cockpit bedroom.
Review 66:The breakfast was just okay, but better than it might have been. The coffee from the automatic machine was not so good.
Review 67:The hotel itself is super cool. The staff were helpful and friendly. The whole facility was exceptionally clean and neat, and the rooms were nice and comfortable despite their small size (which is expected, inside a plane). And its location a 5 minute free shuttle ride from the airport can't be beat.
Review 68:Too small rooms and kinda expensive (well it is a plane and that's Sweden i guess).
Review 69:I had a late flight and I got a room upgrade. I didn't want to disturb the other 3 person at the room so I asked for another one and the lady at the reception was soo kind as to let me stay in another one. Toilet really clean and nice location. Pretty neat staying at a 747, would definitely book here again :)
Review 70:Very cozy beds and friendly people! My son enjoyed being in a plane and even loved the frozen Lasaga, i was able to buy for us. Wonderful for single moms and kids with engery.
Review 71:Clean rooms and comfortable beds, excellent value for money, very friendly staff and good buffet breakfast. Free wifi was easy to log on to. Would certainly stay there again when visiting Stockholm. Handy for the airport if departing early or arriving on a late flight.
Review 72:I didn't like to press the button of th lift during it was going up.
Review 73:I liked the reception was opened at 1.30 in the night when I just arrived. The bed was very good and confortable...
Review 74:The bed in the cockpit room was two twins with a wooden block between, so not very comfortable for a couple.
Review 75:Cool place to stay, inside an airplane! The cockpit room had a lounge for our 4 kids to spend the evening with us, and to eat breakfast together in the morning.
Review 76:This is a hostel, so compared to the places we normally stay at it's relatively crude (e.g. shared facilities). That allowed, we have no complaints
Review 77:If you need somewhere convenient to stay for a night before flying, then this is a delightfully quirky alternative.
Review 78:Wing terrace access costs additional money
Review 79:it is perfect stay if you depart in the morning, or arrive late, ALFA bus runs every 15 minutes between every terminal and Jumbo Stay. very clean and quiet
Review 80:The price is a little off putting but worth it. The buses are less regular late at night so be warned you might be waiting/in a panic that no more were gonna turn up like we were! Shane check out is 10, would have liked to stay longer!
Review 81:Got a for bed room for just the two of us!
Review 82:nothing
Review 83:Conveniently located next to the airport. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Plus, excellent cleanliness. Thank you for the staff who kindly offered taking a photo of me in the kitchen area!
Review 84:Prior instructions on how to get to the hotel would have been nice.
Review 85:For the one night I was there,my stay was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 86:Super convenient location, just 3min away from ARN, and the bus (ALFA) takes you there every 15min. I love the idea of sleeping in a repurposed plane, the beds were very comfortable and it didn't feel cramped. My breakfast was not included because I was staying in a dorm, but I wish I had paid 65 SEK for it instead of the pricier breakfast at the airport. Great stay overall!
Review 87:away from the city, not recommended if you want to enjoy the city
Review 88:wonderful staff, close to airport, excellent if you have a flight early morning, very unique experience
Review 89:The hostel was very clean, bath facilities were convenient. The idea of sleeping in a jet was what memories are made of. Very clever concept. Breakfast was great! Very convenient for morning flight from Arlanda.
Review 90:My friend said something flew across his face.
Review 91:That it was close to the airport. Please make sure you realize that you are at least 35 minutes from the center of Stockholm. Staying in a plane was neat.
Review 92:The double bed is a bit narrow and it is a bit hard for the one sleeping inside to come out because of there is a double deck bed above.
Review 93:It's a unique experience to stay in a specialty hotel / hostel: in this case, a converted Boeing 747. The included Continental breakfast is good and breakfast time starts at 4:00am, which is good news for people leaving for an early flight. The free airport shuttle is quite convenient, the Alfa buses arrive every 15 - 20 minutes.
Review 94:Just know that its a transit hotel so people will arrive late and leave early. If you can't handle that in a share room, don't book a share room.
Review 95:Oh it was delightfully kitsch. Loved it so much.
Review 96:The location, and the ease of getting to, and from it, whithout our own transport. We also liked the fun factor, of staying in a Jumbo Jet. Recycling at it's best. We would definitely stay again, and will recommend it, to family, and friends.
Review 97:The lower bunk in the triple room was too narrow from me and my husband. So we didn't sleep well. My son age 7 thought the whole stay was amazing. He loved going around in socks , visiting the toilet, watching the tv from the top bunk. Novel experience but expensive unless like us our flight was at8.45 so needed to save on taxi and hotel in city
Review 98:The free shuttle to and from Arlanda. The buffet breakfast and coffee.
Review 99:Our bathroom was missing soap and warm water - I had to wait 5 minutes for warm water to come out. Air conditioning was poor; I felt cold and had to put on an additional layer. Bed was easy to dislocate.
Review 100:Facilities were all clean. Staff were nice. I got really excited when I realized I was actually lying on a bed in a 747!!
Review 101:Although I wasnt aware that They accept euro With a higher rate which makes it a higher Price. So I suggest taking swedisch krones
Review 102:I likes that it was not expensive and claie tonthe airport Just a shuttle away.
Review 103:When checking in I found out that they had already charged the card I used to reserve the booking a couple of days prior. I had expected to pay (in cash) on arrival. 4-bed dorms would probably feel very cramped with 4 people in. Fine for 2 people though.
Review 104:More interesting than your average airport stopover. Convenient for early morning flights. Nice little area to have drinks, snacks and breakfast (costs extra). Beds comfy, with nightlight, good wifi and lots of plug sockets.
Review 105:Man at the counter wasn't too pleasant, he didn't smile and seemed really tired(it was past midnight tho).
Review 106:Location was quite good, easy to get. Hotel was different than any other I've ever stayed in. Quiet and calm, not too crowded.
Review 107:I was really looking forward to staying in this 747. Upon arrival I was told my room was in the undercarrage. Nowhere near the reception or shower rooms. It was more like a cleaning cuboard. I booked this hotel on the understanding I was staying in a aircraft not in a wheel well. My bathroom had nothing to cover up the window anybody could of looked in. The main door to my room the blinds didn't cover the window. I will be contacting the hotel for a refund. This was not the experience I was looking for.
Review 108:The breakfast was nice.
Review 109:Too late people arrive o the dormitory and actually there were plenty of other rooms for type of dormitory. It is true that what you pay what you gain, but when there's plenty of beds of same room type and a early morning late check in, the staff would arrange the later arrive people abother room in case of disturbing would be much appreciated.
Review 110:Functional transpiration hub for a short stay
Review 111:Bit of a smell from the bathroom. Think it improved once we ran son water down the sink and shower.
Review 112:Great fun. Friendly staff. Clean. Good bed. Nice breakfast
Review 113:It was a little cold inside, but there is a heater in the room, so the problem was solved by it in 5-10 min.
Review 114:a prefect place for connection indeed! wi fi, breakfast, a free shuttle to/from the airport every 15 minutes. which is great
Review 115:We didn't like the cockpit room that much because it doesn't look like a suite. The pilot chair was missing its only the chair cover left and it looks like so messy. The room was so cold with just one small portable heater and the bed is uncomfortable with a separator in the middle (?) the lounge looks like a stock room where they put all their extra beds and dead plants. Elevators is not working when you have to carry your suitcase upstairs with lots of snow on the stairs and its so slippery. The Room rate is not fair it should be cheaper nor they have to improve the room to become a real suite where the guest deserve when paying a suite.
Review 116:We like the hotel because it's unique and unusual.. And the staff are amazing especially the one who did the checkin for us.
Review 117:Hi, I want my money back from that Arlanda Jumbo Hostel. Please advice. Complaint list: - lift/elevator did not work...i had heavy luggages. it didnt work in and out days. - they did not guide me to the room. I missed it and annoyed another customer. - while I got in from the rain and storm (high wind speed) the receptionist shouted me that how did I get in. One of the personnel let me in. - I did not feel welcomed, not accepted. - also asked cooperation deals for sauna and pool...i dont think i got any advice nor help for that. I want my money back from this and I hope to be luckier next time. Jukka Pekka Poutiainen

Review 119:The room was exceptionally small. Comfortable, but small.
Review 120:It's an incredibly unique hostel, and staying at it is bound to be interesting, at the very least.
Review 121:The price is basically high because of the novelty. I would definitely stay again. It took me about 5 minutes to get there on the free bus from terminal 5
Review 122:Nothing to dislike
Review 123:The location close to the airport serves everybody who is short of time on an interim stayover in Stockholm. Sleeping in this plane is a fantastic experience and adventure. There is a good bus connection to and from the hotel, bus number 3.
Review 124:It was not a problem for my stay, however noisy groups could be an issue for the quality of sleeping, since you can hear people walking in the corridor. Again, it was not a major problem for my stay, however my room was kind of cold and I could not find any temperature regulator (I did not ask the personnel).
Review 125:Considered the position and the price of the hotels in the surrounding this is a great choice. The Hostel has all the facilities of a regular hotel if excluded the use of shared WCs. You can get even more than a hotel, since in general hotels do not provide breakfast so early (3 am!). Despite the (small) size of the property, there is everything someone would need for this kind of stay, that is a bed close to the airport for early morning / late night flights. The position is great, close to the bus stop from/to the airport and from/to the parking areas (it takes 10 minutes to reach the terminal by bus).
Review 126:Very small dormitory rooms, almost no place for luggage. (It's a plane after all, no wonder).
Review 127:The idea of making a hostel out of a plane is fantastic! I loved my stay at the hostel. The beds were comfortable, as well as the toilets and bathrooms. Perfectly clean - no shoes allowed inside the hostel. Bed sheets and small towel included in price. 24/7 open reception. Ideal for early flights - free shuttle bus to and from hostel.
Review 128:The whole idea of sleeping in a plane is great, after all you are by an airport :) The hostel is so easy to get to, it only takes a few minutes riding the yellow Alfa bus - very convenient! I really enjoyed everything about it: comfortable bed, clean bathroom (a cool single unit with toilet, sink and shower), extremely nice staff! I also liked the breakfast (I had read it's not very big, but there was more than I expected - maybe I have low expectations, but it's a hostel and what more do you need than coffee, bread, cheese, cold cuts, jam, yoghurt and eggs? It's all there and everything was good!). I totally recommend it! It can be maybe a little expensive, but it's still the cheapest solution if you want to avoid sleeping on a bench in the airport, and the whole experience is very pleasant. Will definitely sleep there again!!
Review 129:The Hotel / Plane was absolutely brilliant! We stayed in the Black Box suite and the room was very clean. We also received robes, sleepers, bottle water and snacks. I would highly recommend the place to anyone.
Review 130:Nothing organic nor GMO-free for breakfast, not even the milk, thecereals or the eggs. Just the basic low supermarket stuff. Less butbetter quality would be much appreciated.
Review 131:Easy free ~ 20 minutes transfer from terminals with "Alfa" bus: comes every 15 minutes, worst case every 30 minutes from 5am tillmidnight. Good reception. My single room with shared bath was in fact adouble room so not at all as tiny as I had feared. You don't hear atall the planes on the taxi lane near by. Wifi.
Review 132:Just see what I wrote above
Review 133:This is an airport hotel, you just sleep there. Just remember; the place have common toilets and bathrooms. Not a problem as such, just be aware of that.
Review 134:Near on £280 for one night to stay in the cockpit suite, understandably niche but very steep in the price. Food was terrible and again expensive.
Review 135:Location was ideal and the staff are fantastic. Really good night in the cockpit suite. Certainly I can say I've experienced it!
