Review 5：Breakfast options were limited and not 5 star quality. Could not get a decent tea all stay. There was no gym. Water sports options were very limited. No option of second room key - so AC stopped when one was out and it got hot very quickly in the rooms - took time for rooms to get comfortable again. We were also expecting the size of our Villas to be bigger as we had stayed at Movenpick in Puket last year and were very happy with the facilities there - this was no comparison and a huge let down.

Review 7：Disappointing was the beach, 'coz you can't swim there. Even just walking or sitting in the water doesn't feel nice. The ground is not sandy it's more muddy... WIFI doesn't have a good connection. There is NO gym at all in this Resort which is surprising for this category.

Review 11：We chose for this resort because we were impressed with the airphotos of the resort: white long beach, isolated hotel hidden in a palm tree forest. Reality proved different: the beach is very small and narrow (during high tide not even able to walk along the beach) and there is hardly any white soft sandy beach but mainly sharp stones and rocks and wet hard sand. The nicest part of the entire beach is a small part in front of the hotel which is cleaned every day. The photos also don't show you the ugly houses (some of them half finished), next to the resort and the mess between the palm trees: not as tropical as we expected. About the resort: no complaints, only some advise for the new management: 1. Please replace the ugly uncomfortable plastic sun beds on the beach! 2. We had booked the pool acces villa to enjoy the private sunbeds in front of each villa. Unfortunate the guests are not being informed and there are no signs mentioning the beds are only for the guests who booked the pool villas so every day there were up to 6 guests (even from outside the hotel) using these beds and every day I had to go to the reception to let them know. 3. Why no "happy hour" like any other resort or bar around sunset. Cocktails were expensive while at other places on the beach you could get them for THB100-150. 4. Why playing such a horrible music in the bar, restaurant and pool-area while all you want to hear in the evening is the sea and birds (I guess this is a matter of personal taste).

Review 12：The villas are all luxurious, but it's true that the pool-villas have less privacy, but better views. Breakfast is good, staff is kind. We often had dinner in the local restaurant next to the resort: great food for 1/3 the price in the hotel.

Review 19：one of the staff phoned us the afternoon before our last night asking when we'd check out. we thought it was unnecessary call and the way he spoke was a bit rude. we felt like being rushed out. the beach on this side is quieter but also very shallow water. so not great for swim. tiny points that we didnt care too much but might bother some ppl such as breakfast was not great of quality and selection, our shower head was not working properly and the wifi is not 100% working in some rooms.

Review 20：we upgraded our rooms on arrival to pool access villas and they were very nice. the resort was well designed and still relatively new. the bed were comfortable. the atmosphere was relax and the location is on the quieter side of samui. despite everything, i think its a lovely place to spend your holiday and not too pricey and i personally would return again.

Review 23：Where do I start.. Booked this hotel for 19 nights after reading goodreviews. The hotel was supposed to be spotlessly clean. We arrived, thebungalows stank of damp mould. The smell was so bad, it would choke you.We refused to stay in the room. The staff showed us 5 different roomsand every room was the same. Including the most expensive room withprivate swimming pool. The hotel is down a dirt track, in the middle ofnowhere. (Cost us £50 in taxis to and from the hotel its so remote). Thefood and drink is wildly overpriced, and the quality is poor. If youlike your lobster with instant potatoes "smash" , its a joke.This hotel has 4 star ratings because of its facilities and nothingmore. We ended up staying in a 3 star hotel for half the price and itwas a palace compared to this place. The Passage ruined our 1st evertrip to Thailand. They took our money and we are still waiting on arefund over 3 weeks later. Please don't be fooled by the ratings ofthis hotel, we are not fussy people by any means, if you stay here youwill regret it. Also while sitting in reception waiting on the managerto come to talk to us at 8am. We got talking to another couple that werejust leaving, they told us that they had stayed for 2 nights, and hadchanged rooms 3 times. Due to smell of sewers in the rooms. Also whenthere is a wedding on the pool area is out of use to everyone bar thewedding party. I could go on. We are so disappointed!!

Review 26：The bungalows are modern and practical with a lovely bathroom. We liked the two pools especially the fact that one of them was a lap pool. There were lots of loungers by the pool and also some on the beach. The restaurant is nicely located next to the beach. The staff were very friendly especially the restaurant staff. Everything was well organised. We would stay here again.

Review 27：A little bit far from other villages and beaches. You need to take a taxi or rent a car or scooter. There is a complimentary shuttle bus connection but not to every beach and only once a day. Quite expensive drinks (european hotel price level). Beer in the mini-bar in the villa is cheaper than in the bar by the pool!!!! Quite expensive dinner prices. But you can visit a Thai family restaurant in the neighbourhood (200m) on the beach with very tasty food, clean and reasonable prices (as well for the drinks).

Review 28：Very nice cosy, quiet and clean hotel. Excellent service. The best place, like paradise, for having leisure and relaxing. Wonderful sea and spacious refreshing pools, beautiful garden and nature. Plentiful and tasty breakfast menu.

Review 33：Really poor quality of the shower baterry- always leaking, persisting problems with hot water, no working table in the room, not good kitchen - tried many restaurants during stay in Samui, but almost the worst tom yam soup here, but really the worst was - very, very shallow sea, almost impossible to swim, but crawl only- This is really important to know.

Review 38：Good location if you want peace and quiet. No restaurants in walking distance. But the hotel restaurant is very good and fairly priced compared to other 4 star hotels in Thailand. We rented a scooter for only 250 bath a day and then you Can go to restaurants nearby in 3 minuts. If you want party and shops nearby this is not for you. But we loved it.

Review 50：The hot water in the room is not enough to shower with. It does not remain constant and keeps switching between hot and cold during the shower. The toilet flush is slow, and if two people need to use the toilet in the same room, they need to wait at least 30 minutes for the flush to work.

Review 51：Overall design,peace.There was a wedding at the resort during our stay there between 20th July, 2013 and 23rd July, 2013. They upgraded us to the pool access villa from the garden villa free of charge which was nice of them to avoid the noise.

This does not include all staff, some ofthem were complitely oposite.The Terrace, main restaurant - we were very disapointed with food - too much pepper, no flavour and really high prices for such food.

We just stopped eating there and walked up the beach each night to the other resort which was 5 star and far cheaper! Also WiFi incredibly slow if you can get it at all.

While the hotel is a bit far from the main tourist cities and shopping centers, the restaurant at the hotel, The Terrace, provides excellent food at a great price. We rented a car for 3 days, and that was more than enough to see the entire island and do a bit of shopping. The rest of the time was spent at the hotel enjoying 2 happy hours every day. We highly recommend The Passage to anyone and everyone.

Review 65：We stayed in this hotel at the end of April. Our vacation there wasenjoyable and delicious. We consider this hotel one of the best we haveever stayed in. First of all, our room was near the swimming pool, ithad very cozy interior with modern and stylish furniture. There arethree nice swimming pools, one of which is 40 meters in length. It is avery quiet and romantic place for couples. The sea is clear but shallow.But for all guests the hotel provides transfer to another beach. Wespent evenings in hotel's restaurant "The Terrace",enjoying amazing sunsets. Dishes in the restaurant were delicious. Wegot massages and recommend outside massages because they are cheaperwith the same quality. We want to thank the staff for their friendlinessand carefulness, especially Roger, Chan and the chief cook.

Review 66：The resort was a bit far from the town and the beach was very rocky but in saying that we did want to be away from the hustle and bustle for the remainder of our honeymoon.

They told us that there was water damage in one pool connectvilla and it was under renovation. I'm not sure if this was thewhole truth. I heard that they have been overbooked before as well.Obviously they have some problems with booking agencys.

Review 71：The resort is quite far away from everything but that is exactly wharwe were looking for. The nature around the hotel is very beautiful. Itwas so cool that you could walk on the beach and there was almost noone else than you. If you want a lot of peole around you, don´t choosethis hotel.The food at the hotel was decent. Not the best in the world, but ok. If you get bored with the hotel restaurant, there is a small restaurant on the beach about 300 metres northwards (GG's). It is a very nice place. The pools and hotel rooms are great. We would recommend.

Review 79：The service from the restaurant was terrible, nothing but attitude andrudeness. They just looked like they hated serving people. Some couldspeak english some couldn'T. The attitude from the front desk wasappauling, checking out was a nightmare it took one hour for the frontdesk to work out how the card machine worked. They were not helpful whatso ever. They spoke Thai in front of us so we could notunderstand....funny thing was we could. They made unauthorisedtransactions with my credit card without my permission and I caught themout and made them refund the money. The untrained staff made hugemistakes with our bill and used our credit to cover it up!...how did Iknow...i went back to the hotel a few hours later after checking my bankaccount and they thought they would get away with it as we told them wewere on a early flight when we were not! Beware of using your creditcard at this hotel!!! Or better yet don't go to this hotel..... If youare a young couple.

Review 81：-Their english: They (with a few exceptions) dont speak a word english wich sometimes makes it difficult for guests in the restaurant or the spa for example. -Location. Very isolated. A taxi is nescesary to get to restaurants, stores, bars etc. -Overpriced spa and restaurant: Go to the small spa just opposite the hotell instead! Food is very good but many things are very expensive compared to other places in Thailand.

Internet is very very very slow, I think they have enough money to buy an other box ! The beach is dirty... The staff doesn't speak english, or very bad. Review 87：We booked for seven days and then we tell them to stay for two more, they agreed. When the seven days passed, we received a call saying that the hotel was fully booked and we had to leave. They recognise their mistake because they didn´t make the book, but we had to leave, that was an awful experience. Then they look for a similar place nearby to stay two days more, but is wasn´t the same. I would go again to the Passage, but i would pay very much attention to the booking and everything with the staff in order to be sure of everything.

The beach is amazing, cristal waters, and clean. The location in the west of koh samui is excellent, much better than in crowded places as chaweng or others.

Review 91：We arrived as a family of 2 parents and 2 12 yrs old boys. The reservation included 2 close rooms (one for the parents and one for the two boys). Unfortunately we got 2 distant rooms. They said they were sorry for this but we got no compansation.The boys got a queen bed instead of 2 seperated beds. The food at the hotel restaurant was awful. Breakfast was very poor. The hotel is located quite far away from the city. No restaurants within walking distance. Finally we decided to check out a day earlier than was planned. We did not get back the money for this day. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
