Review 1：It was a nice place to stop for one night. They were kind enough to let us stay until noon when regular check-out was 11:00 because we didn't check-in until almost 11:00 pm. A breakfast was included but we slept late. If we had the need to go to Roanoke again near that area we would stay there again.

Review 2：Breakfast was not very special (pastries, fruit) but not that different to most. Wifi didn't work.

Review 15：extremely disappointed with our stay here- our room was run down, outdated, damp, and smelly. It did not seem clean and comfortable- definitely did not live up to the ratings it had online.

Review 16：First, Booking.com had not reserved our room for us. We were not in the system. Then, when we went to go make coffee the filter had been in there for a while and had molded. If you don't write the Wi-Fi password down forget it!! you have to call. I've been to cheaper places and had better treatment.

Review 17：I was at a family reunion in Rocky Mount, Va. It was close to the interstate and not far away. Also, not using booking.com, since they didn't reserve us a room anyway, saved us $10.

Review 18：Wifi was very spotty to non-existent. Definitely need to work on it if planning to continue to advertise it as a feature. Black mold was discovered under the soap rack in the bathroom and around bathtub. Disgusting.

Review 19：The location and noise level at the location were excellent. We were traveling to the area for an early morning appointment at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and this facility is located nearby.

The only pair of 7's I'd relate to this site is as-in 1977 when it was last decorated and the year our fridge was last defrosted and the TV was manufactured. Gosh, I though France had boring breakfasts with bread and cheese but bland cereal in luke-warm milk in throw away everything crockery & cuttlery, really?

Review 24：Room was musky, continental breakfast include only pre-packaged pastries, exercise hype was vintage 1980's yard sale, and the walkways were cracked. Staff was nice.

Review 25：This motel looked like a cool, route 66 type place to stay, but it was more like the Bates Motel. The operator was very grouchy and our party was separated because we used booking.com. We also got a scowl from the operator because we used Booking.com.

Review 26：The front desk staff were very helpful. The initial room was not the best and the wi-fi did not work. I talked with the front desk and we were moved. A phone call to the front desk and the wifi worked great. I was very happy with the response.

Review 33：Air vent that went on when the bathroom light wen on was as loud as a vacuum cleaner. Fridge rattled at a high frequency, so we turned it off to get some rest. Door didn't close correctly, place was worn down, in need of upgrade and not very clean. Breakfast was cereal, coffee and oranges at 2 tables. Interior looked like it hadn't been changed since the 70's. Not bad per sé, but it was plain old and worn.

Review 35：The breakfast was very small, we were in hopes of a bagel and some fruit, however only cereal and a few pastries were offered. It wasn't a big deal we just stopped on the way to where we were going. Rooms could use some updates but all in all everything was great.

Review 55：The breakfast was minimal and the choice limited. It is marketed as 'Continental' but it's a bit of a cop out. Also the concrete steps on the stairways are breaking up and this could be dangerous. A little maintenance could easily put this right.

Review 56：Remembering what the seventies was like. This place really is retro - not I suspect because of a desire to present a 1970s motel but to keep the price down. But everything works quite well - the plumbing, the TV, the microwave, and the bed is comfortable.

Review 58：The room was very clean. You coould smell a slight hint if cleaner when you first entered the room. I liked that because I was afraid that with it being an older motel it would smell musky. That was not the case. It smelled nice and the bathroom was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My husband and myself were very happy with the overall visit.

Review 60：A lovely welcome with homemade biscuits. Staff were so helpful and thoughtful. Gave great advice on where to visit and eat in Roanoke. It was fun to stay in a real motel just like in the films! The pool was an added bonus as was the simple continental breakfast. We were well taken care of. The motel also provided speedy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Review 61：We stayed for 2 nights. After the 1st night we woke to find no running water in the room. A call to the front desk reveled water to our whole section was shut off due to a leak and would be back shortly. Thirty minutes after that I saw the plumber's van leave the motel looking for parts. We called the front desk again and asked for a room with water in the other section and they quickly gave us one. Breakfast bar was minimal (cereal, danish & beverages) but pretty much what I always eat for breakfast. Wi-fi service was spotty at best. The first room had adequate service but the second room it was almost non-existent.

Review 62：Clean & quiet even though it's right on a busy 4-lane highway. The rooms are big and if you get a 2nd floor room the ceiling is slanted to match the roof line. The fixtures look to be original but are in good repair.

Review 63：Picture windows in each room need sheers for privacy...black out drapes only tend to make it gloomy. Bathroon tile needs a good steam cleaning, carpet, too. There was a huge VDOT truck with trailer parked in front of pool daily, made it harder parking and ruined the view...
