Reviews for Provincetown Inn
Review 1:Toilet situated awkward, outlets old. We had a large group of people, we were loud, it was New Year's Eve, and older group of folks did not like our enthusiasm.
Review 2:Managers reception was fabulous! Mary the bartender an absolute pleasure! Breakfast great!
Review 3:The location was perfect, away from the crowds in Provincetown and walking distance to the beach. The property is older but clean and charming. The food in the tavern was very good and a good dollar value.
Review 4:Its a bit of a walk to the center of PTown and usually have to get a taxi to come back at night
Review 5:The staff is friendly and accommodating and it is a nice location with ample parking
Review 6:Room was not cleaned properly. Especially the bathroom. Someone's hair trimmings were all over the toilet under the seat. The tub had hair in it and on the walls. I complained to the manager.
Review 7:Loved the location. Staff was good. Friendly.
Review 8:It was warm enough. I wish the pool was still open.
Review 9:All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Michelle went out of her way to make sure our room was ready for us a little earlier than check-in time.
Review 10:Only thing that could have made it better is a small table in the room. I brought laptop and would have been nice to have a work surface. Some rooms seem to have and other not, I had a not.
Review 11:I had a great second floor room overlooking the bay - watched sunrise, water come in and go out. Relaxed on balcony and read. Breakfast was good and filling. Originally was going to stay 3 days but was able to extend for a fourth and stay in the same room.
Review 12:the rooms & bathrooms very small/ quite dirty despite request to clean/ no variety in breakfast - had the same stuff all 4 days
Review 13:the location right onto the sea! a porch in front of every room to enjoy the lovely view.
Review 14:How old the hotel was ....the old bed... The holes in the wall....the price
Review 15:The bartender at the pool and the convenience of location . I also liked the private beach .
Review 16:After we arrived for check-in. We were not able to get into our room for 4 hours. This is not acceptable for any inn, motel or hotel to treat their customers. There are NO Excuses.
Review 17:The Location
Review 18:The staff was underwhelming and didn't seem helpful even to hail a cab for me. The facilities were antiquated
Review 19:The location and views were amazing. I loved the private balcony off of the rooms.
Review 20:The hallways were not air conditioned, so on a hot afternoon, it got a little bit musty, but that probably doesn't get too bad or happen too often.
Review 21:I loved the charm of the place. It was older, but well kept. It seemed like an old fashioned resort where they had everything you needed right there. They still have their own shows! And even though it was a bit of a walk to town (which I didn't mind) I thought the location was great. I liked being able to go outside and walk down the long jetty.
Review 22:cleanliness was horrible....had to ask them to change the sheets because they were stained. They did but then put a flat sheet on the bottom so it would never stay on. floor felt grubby. I'm pretty easy going about stuff but the sheet thing was bad.
Review 23:location wasn't bad....a walk to the main area but a nice walk. bathroom had been renovated.
Review 24:Some cleaning details were over looked in my room each day.
Review 25:There was a lot to do close by. Each day I did something different and didn't need to get in my car and drive some where.
Review 26:if you are looking for midcentury modern sterling accommodations, this ain't it. it is a wonderful old school cape cod hotel.
Review 27:spectacular location. the very best bay beach next to the town's best party pool and it is kid central for family week. my daughter and I staggered 100 feet to the ocean, over to the pool, to the grill for lunch, back to the ocean, back to the pool, grill for dinner, early evening nap, then the night stroll of commercial street. BLISS. so easy and the setting is crazy beautiful.
Review 28:Motel was old and not updated. Rugs were not that clean and old. Décor was old with painting on the walls. Hall were dark and furniture was cheap and old.
Review 29:Location is great with water views and right on the beach.
Review 30:Small, old and very basic room/pool/bathroom/ reception.
Review 31:Room with own deck, great view in a great location (walking distance to town, restaurant, bike rental, beach... ), plenty of parking.
Review 32:I stay here every year and the bed is aweful, horrible mattress and frame is loud sounds like its going to fall apart. Pillows pretty bad too, I've started bringing my own.
Review 33:The breakfast is a great value, location beautiful, pool is a plus. Dining room upgraded, very nice. Staff always friendly and helpful.
Review 34:It rained for much of the time we were there and not much to do when it rains. Hotel was clean but grout in shower needs desperately to be redone. Bathrooms are small.
Review 35:Great Location! On the West end of P-Town away from the hustle and bustle it would have been a long walk (1 mine)yet close enough to ride our bike. They are right on the beach. Staff was super accommodating and friendly!
Review 36:Dated,could use an area to get out of the sun in the outside dining area.Outside people coming in and using the pool. Outside shower would be great, after swimming in the ocean.
Review 37:The room needs major work. No room to maneuver around bed; bathroom needs major renovations. Kept hitting my head on sink. Tiles cracked. old appliances; shower stall door would not close. TV did not have many channels Poor quality
Review 38:incredible view nice beach wonderful staff Food was good
Review 39:Room was small and smelled. Sheets, towels and pillows were very uncomfortable. The door had a large opening at the side, so light came thru. Bathroom door and bed were very squeaky. Wall was so thin, I heard the TV from the room next door ALL night.
Review 40:The murals were very cool and the location of the breakfast and outside seating was opposite.
Review 41:We stayed two nights and 1st morning we used the in room coffee and tea next day they were not replenished and the cups were not discarded or new ones placed in the room
Review 42:Location and parking were very good quiet and a good Restaurant on the site along with a bar the atmosphere was very nostalgic
Review 43:Clock did not work properly phone did not connect to other rooms consistently air conditioner settings deceptive and did not really cool or slightly cool
Review 44:Pool breakfast location parking
Review 45:It was "bear week" and this was not disclosed. Found out on Facebook with a ridiculously crowded pool Breakfast was vegetarian. No bacon and eggs or sausage
Review 46:Liked the location Staff was very helpful and friendly
Review 47:The place needs serious updating given the cost of the rooms. Bathrooms were cramped. There was a wedding tent blocking our view of the ocean for 2+ days of the 4 days we were there.
Review 48:Location
Review 49:We were paying mostly for the location and the fact that it was Bear Week. For what we spent I would normally have expected much more.
Review 50:Friendly staff, nice location, welcoming atmosphere. Pool is great too!
Review 51:I was told I couldn't bring my Pepsi into the pool area . I also bought my lunch from PJ's one day but didn't dare bring in into the pool area.
Review 52:I wish there was some kind of meat with the breakfast (sausages, ham, bacon)
Review 53:The hotel was at a great location, at the end of the cape. It was old but very beautiful. The room was clean, the staff was very nice. I'm gonna come back to this location next year too, it was very close to everything.
Review 54:Room was small. Not enough room in bathroom very small.
Review 55:The beach was close to our room. Great views. We loved the walk into town every night. Beaches were also close. Beautiful spot.
Review 56:Nothing !
Review 57:Lovely location. Room with a veranda looking out to sea ! Nice pool and restaurant, wonderful comfortable bed. Will be staying longer next time !
Review 58:the service at the restaurant for dinner was bad, bad, bad. We wait 1,5 hour to eat and then they forget to bring the entrance. at the end we must eat all together. poor service
Review 59:When you first walk in to the front desk you feel as though you've stepped back in time. But you are still afforded most of the modern amenities like coffee pot in room, fridge in room, flat screen TV and wifi. The view from our room was fantastic and balcony size ample. Continental breakfast was great with quite a variety including hard boiled eggs, oatmeal bar and waffles. The private beach, pool, and jetty are steps away. Take a 10 minute walk in one direction for Commercial st. Or in the other direction for bike rentals and take a ride along the bike trail to Race Point Beach.
Review 60:This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in where I had to call 911. What I assume was a drunken guest tried to enter our room repeatedly. The front desk never answered my calls over this fifteen minute period. The next morning when I checkled out I asked to speak to a manager and I was told he wasn't in yet but would call me later. He/she never did. I'm a single mom who stayed with my two daughters. As anyone can guess no one was able to sleep. My younger one was scared that someone would return and try to enter our room. The inn is very quaint but it's dated. The carpet in our room looked like it was old and dirty. Our fridge did not work because staff forgot to turn it on. I would have overlooked those things but not after our visit from the Provincetown police.
Review 61:Quaint inn.
Review 62:This is the only hotel type property. Everything in Provincetown is a guest house and I prefer the privacy of a hotel room. Also the pool is fantastic.
Review 63:Bed was pretty uncomfortable...
Review 64:Everything was very nice. The hotel is pretty old but very clean. The location is perfect: very quiet but in walking distance from the center of the town. Beautiful view.
Review 65:We were disappointed to learn that there was no shuttle or public transportation. Cab was quite expensive. The room was very small and the one electrical outlet in our bathroom did not work, difficult to blow dry your hair!
Review 66:Beautiful views. The drive along route 6 is spectacular. The hotel staff were pleasant, courteous and helpful.
Review 67:A bit noisy when loud neighbors came in late, but our heater/ac provided nice white noise.
Review 68:Accommodations surprisingly pleasant and comfortable, with ideal location on water overlooking Jetty. Staff very nice and room kept nice and warm on surprisingly cold weekend. Breakfast was terrific and pool looked very nice, though too cold that weekend to enjoy.
Review 69:We didn't have hot water in the morning- so we had to take lukewarm/cool showers. Our front room door & lock also gave us trouble a bit.
Review 70:The view from our room was awesome. And, the breakfast was delicious.
Review 71:The bathroom could have been cleaner, the A/C didn't work all that great, glad it wasn't very hot out yet.
Review 72:I liked that it was far enough away from the party people that it was quiet. The view was amazing, and the romantic quality of the waterline was amazing. The breakfast was great with a view. The pool was clean and the bartenders were very nice.
Review 73:Small bathrooms. Didn't get room service for our entire stay.
Review 74:Wonderful view & delicious breakfast. The town is at walking distance. Lots of places to eat and have fun.
Review 75:We didn't like the loud techno music at the pool which we could hear inside our room. Available storefronts and dining rooms are not being used which make the facilities feel deserted, outdated, dark and dingy. Would have been nice to have shuttles or bicycles available on site to get around with. It was quite a walk to Commercial St., Herring Cove Beach or Race Point Beach. Asphalt and concrete which was dumped over the bank down on to the beach should have been hauled away instead. Construction materials and waste disposal should have been kept out of guests eyesight. The gate was open each time we walked past. Yuk! There wasn't any landscaping in the parking area. No hair dryer, full length mirror or light in closet.
Review 76:The proximity to the Breakwater and the view when the tide was in. Continental breakfast offered a nice variety of food and drink for the hungry guest. I liked having a small patio on the harbor side. King sized bed was very comfortable and staff was very accommodating when we requested more pillows.
Review 77:Staff was not the friendliest, breakfast was bad and boring, pool should be heated, needs better night life/entertainment. Grounds need landscaping. Rooms need upgrades TV on got a few Channels
Review 78:View, and old charming building
Review 79:The heating did not work properly. due to the construction work in the hotel, the breakfast room with a view was closed. we could help ourselves for breakfast in the hallway - no window. It should have been closed! scary place to be avoided!
Review 80:In my imagination it might be ok in summer. not in April!
Review 81:Besides our room it was very cold and there was work being done while we were there.
Review 82:The staff was great despite adverse weather. The Inn was cold but our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice. I love the location and have stayed here many times.
Review 83:Could hear people having sex in the next room then could hear our other neighbor snoring woken up by both parties. Bathtub stopper didn't work very disappointed
Review 84:Beautiful view
Review 85:Winter season is very quiet which meant the shopping for breakfast was probably done once a week: stale bread and yoghurt that was past it's use-by date
Review 86:Lovely view over the bay from our room
Review 87:The location with a view of Cape Cod Bay.It's worth the extra charge.I also like the historical paintings covering the outside walls.A touch of old P-town.Free breakfast was a plus.
Review 88:Nothing.
Review 89:From the warm greeting by the staff to the wonderful room the a terrace and an ocean view to the timely and excellent housekeeping, Provincetown Inn might just be the perfect place for a quiet, comfortable stay in Provincetown
Review 90:Very old women at the front counter who was confused and I had to go to the room 3 times before she got it right. I think it's time for her to retire!
Review 91:location breakfast room
Review 92:The room had very "tired", stained furniture which contrasted poorly with what appeared to be a relatively freshly painted room. The mattresses were terrible, lumpy and obviously very old.
Review 93:We were meeting friends for Thanksgiving dinner at The Red Inn, so the location was perfect. Just a few minutes walk away.
Review 94:When necessary relaxing in our room was less than entertaining. They must be using satellite or a dish for their cable signal because it was out more than it was working. I'm glad we didn't have the kids with us. They would have been difficult to handle without a little TV before bed. For what they charge in peak season I'm sure they could afford regular cable.
Review 95:Not a top of the line place but well worth the trip. I will stay there again.
Review 96:A terrible glitch regarding which the staff was decidedly unhelpful: some carousing guests were making a loud rumpus in a public space--that made it impossible to sleep. I politely asked them to keep their voices down. No result. I called the front desk. Hopefully someone asked them to quiet down, but no result. I asked the guests myself. No result. I called the front desk again at 2 am to again ask for help. This time, no one was on duty at the front desk despite several calls. At 2:30 am, the guests called it a night. I was disappointed that the Inn's staff wasn't more helpful.
Review 97:The inn has a spectacular location at the tip of Cape Cod. It overlooks the bay and has a wonderful, old-time atmosphere.
Review 98:front desk staff was unfriendly and downright surly....gave bad advice and poor directions....it felt like I was not the enough of a New York fashion plate to receive decent services room--especially bed and linens--need updating included breakfast was nasty
Review 99:wonderful location cool historical information and vibe in old part beautiful motel rooms near the beach
Review 100:Hotel very dull in need of an update. We stayed end of summer season, so no restaurant open at the hotel on the night we were there.. A long walk to Province town for dinner, but plenty of choices once there. Room very small.
Review 101:Location. Beautiful beach. Lovely sun rise in the morning. Try and get room with sea view and balcony. Basic breakfast, try get there before the rush, but OK.
Review 102:Just spent the weekend in P-Town and stayed here mainly for itsviews..The room was a typically sized small room for a a hotel in avacation town...This size was more than made up for by the balcony wehad right outside the room..The views of the town and the surroundingarea was spectacular. This hotel is old, but we found this to add to itscharm and we loved the paintings of old P-Town thruout the halls. In themornings they have a nice breakfast for their guests and we found thisto be an adequate breakfast to start our day off with.We truly lovedthis old hotel and will stay here agin..As this hotel is out on the tipof town, it is a long walk to downtown, but for us, this is what we werelooking for...
Review 103:The tablecloths in the breakfast room were so sticky we were concerned about health & safety. The rooms were old but adequate; the wifi was intermittent.
Review 104:Fantastic location. The breakwater rooms were very nice with a sunset view; the waterside rooms had a lovely sunrise view over the bay and Provincetown.
Review 105:Hotel is extremely outdated, beds were old and creaky. Rooms were small and walls paper thin, it was extremely loud in the morning with other rooms conversations crystal clear. This place could be a gem but doesn't appear they are willing to do updates to make it worth the price you pay.
Review 106:gorgeous views and nice to location if you would like to be away from the main strip. The bar area was quaint and staff very friendly.
Review 107:I would only rate the restaurant and morning continental breakfast a C. The wait staff were professional and helpful, but the food was just ok.
Review 108:The front desk people were helpful and friendly. The maid service was great. This historic inn was clean, comfortable and beautiful. It was a five min ride from the center of town which was ideal for us.
Review 109:The hotel is old. I mean really old. The rooms as well (or at least the one we had) and I'd say even my grandma has much newer bathroom..and she didn't renovate for quite some time. I'm not sure if I'd choose this one again.
Review 110:Hotel is close to the Herring Cove beach (or better said probably the closest out of all the hotels in Provincetown, but you still need to ride a bike to get there)
Review 111:As a handicapped person, my husband had the following problems: no safety handles in bath tub or near toilet (I also find these features helpful, though not handicapped but of the "mature" set); the toilet is tiny (he's a big guy).
Review 112:Atmosphere/ambiance; nice & quiet; location/locale; breakfast very nice; coffee set up best I've seen; flower show (Dahlias) an added great surprise; availability of handicap parking; refrigerator in room really a plus.
Review 113:This hotel is most definitely past it's prime. Quite a few things were in need of fixing up and even with the nice decoration it had this 'old and shabby' feel to it. We were also not exactly impressed by the staff.
Review 114:The location was truly awesome. Right on the tip of P-town, sticking out into the bay. The decoration inside with the wall paintings was nicely done and the food we had in restaurant was really good. The breakfast buffet had a good offering of different things and was really appreciated.
Review 115:Well the room was very dated and very small. In house resident crickets were annoying. I must say we became used to the room because of the small patio and the view. It would have been nice if the pool was still open.
Review 116:The place has a hidden charm, great views laid back feeling.Breakfast was excellent with very helpful staff.
Review 117:The bed wasn't very comfortable. The toilet was too close to the wall. Hotel restaurant food was only fair.
Review 118:Great location. Excellent beachfront view. Nice breakfast buffet.
Review 119:room was small took too long to check in no counter space in bathroom
Review 120:good breakfast, waffles were great location is unique saw sunset with 360 degree panorama easy to park views
Review 121:You'll find better food with a short walk down Commercial Street. Still, the continental breakfast (included) was always good, with fresh pastries, do-it-yourself waffle irons, cold fruit, and fresh coffee.
Review 122:I've stayed at the Inn several times over the past 20 years or so, and every visit has been a good one. The location is a 15-20 minute walk from the heart of town, just far enough to feel a bit of seclusion, but close enough to enjoy all of P-town's attractions.
Review 123:Shower and sink area was small. TV was small and not HD. The fridge was not working as we weren't aware that we had to switch it on when we arrived so our drinks were not chilled before cycling.
Review 124:The view from our room was amazing. The inn is an easy walk or cycle from town. Easy access to cycling the dunes and accessing fabulous beaches by bike. The evening early bird menu was delicious. The inn is very charming and the wall murals are like a musuem of the history of Provincetown.
Review 125:buildings & infrastructure require updating; breakfast could be improved with upgraded offerings (nicer local continental from Joe's or Relish would be great)
Review 126:view
Review 127:Hotel is extremely old, furnitures as well. rooms full of dust. It doesn't smell good. It's so old fashion not repaired for a long time that you want to runaway. Charged 254$/night a weekend it doesn't worth even half of it
Review 128:It's location, north end of commercial street, close to Provincetown local life, in front of the beach. Balconies looking over to the beach are nice
Review 129:Room was small, the entire hotel needs updating, very small beds, tub didn't drain, front desk staff not helpful at all,
Review 130:Location was gorgeous, continental breakfast was better than expected, shampoo/conditioner/soap were nice.
Review 131:Having to leave!
Review 132:Location, small private beach, swimming pool with food and drink vendors on-site, clean room, Wifi in room, balcony room over-looking Provincetown Harbor, very nice continental breakfast.
Review 133:old hotel, hallway areas smell musty water in the pool was cloudy
Review 134:directly on beautiful, calm private beach snackbar at the pool (not expensive) in walking distance to Ptown center (15-20min)
Review 135:No problems, had a lovely stay!
Review 136:I've stayed here with family many times and was excited to go back with friends. They loved it too! This hotel will always be my first choice in town.
Review 137:The rooms need work, a bit shabby. Our baby had a tough time falling asleep and the walls were thin. We felt so bad for the couple next to us.
Review 138:Wonderful location, the pool is right next to the beach and both were very close to our room.
Review 139:The bedding was in great need of upgrading. Bottom sheet was not fitted, there were no bedskirts, the blankets and bedspreads were 1970's vintage. We needed to call the front desk for more pillows, as they had provided only two small pillows for a king size bed.
Review 140:The location was wonderful - close enough to town (a 15 min walk) but far enough away for peace and quiet. The continental breakfast was nicely stocked and presented.
Review 141:my double door bolt did not close properly. when i checked in, i was told i needed to wait until the room was clean, so after a half hour, i went up to the desk, talked to a different person,he told me my room had been ready all along.
Review 142:view out my window
