Reviews for Fireside Inn and Suites

Review 1:Breakfast was very minimal. A room with breads, cereals, etc. That you prepare on the run. No room to even sit down.

Review 2:Very comfortable as a stop and sleep over during a long drive. Very friendly and helpful staff, and super comfortable bed.

Review 3:No elevator, so it was difficult to carry our luggage up to the second floor. People on our floor were partying loudly and smoking pot in their rooms. As soon as we got to the top of the stairwell, the stench was overwhelming. Fortunately, we could not smell it or hear the noise once in our room.

Review 4:The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff so pleasant.

Review 5:There were unvacuumed cracker and pretzel crumbs in a few places on the rug. Also, there was an annoying humming sound through the night. We didn't realize it was the frig until morning. Rm 202

Review 6:Thank you for the xtrra pillows....also your extended list of cable channels was great for light sleepers. Staff very personable and friendly. Check in and check out very smooth. Your amenities in the rooms, very nice!!!!

Review 7:Really needs to be updated, the cost of overnight stay is pretty close to high end hotels however the facilities are not as up to date.

Review 8:Like the location we have stayed a couple different times, friendly staff and pretty clean facilities.

Review 9:The place is old, tired, and in need of some updating if it is to compete with the casino next door and a new hotel going up across the street. The room (109) smelled musty or of mildew, and it was in need of some general TLC. The breakfast items were quite limited. The ventilation unit and in-room fridge were quite noisy all night long.

Review 10:The front desk person was friendly. The facility was clean on the surface. There were provisions in place for parking security on the evening of a concert across the street.

Review 11:Guests traveling with pets should be kept in a block of rooms. The barking was a bit much at times.

Review 12:The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

Review 13:tight room for continental breakfast no security locks for floors

Review 14:staff were very friendly, accommodating rate was very fair room was clean, well kept geaghan's pub very good very true to Irish liked it upon first impression stayed second night

Review 15:The pub closed pretty early. For a concert night it would have been nice to have it open a bit later.

Review 16:Have stayed here before and went back. Very clean. Good value for the location and cost. Will book again.

Review 17:The only problem we had that when it came time to take out shower in the morning we had no hot water so we left without being able to take a shower! I also found the hallways to smell of stale cigeratte smoke.

Review 18:No lobby to speak of. Wifi signal was weak and dropped often. Cramped quarters. They say they offer breakfast, but what you get is a muffin or cold cereal in a box.

Review 19:Room was clean, bed comfortable. If that's what you are looking for you'll be happy.

Review 20:I felt very bad for the one young desk clerk who seemed to be running the whole motel by himself. On a night when the motel was sold out, he was there struggling by himself with several issues. He was doing the best he could, but thru no real fault of his own, service to the customers checking in was lacking.

Review 21:price, size of room, lack of electrical plugs, breakfast facilities

Review 22:location to Cross Insurance Centre, bed was very comfortable..WiFi great as was parking.

Review 23:Non smoking room smelled like smoke--old, tired smoke. Our room door stuck when opening. Stairwell was hot and smelly. People smoking outside the office door, having to walk through plumes of smoke to enter the office building. Dangerous step up to enter the door. Very congested as entrance to office also entrance to adjacent restaurant. Breakfast prices at restaurant were too high so we went somewhere else.

Review 24:Location across from the Cross Insurance Center. Bed was perfectly comfortable and place was clean enough.

Review 25:the bed and comforter were amazing and I enjoyed every second. The bar was amazing as well.

Review 26:We had cold water for the shower in the am.

Review 27:The location was great.

Review 28:Beds are too soft.

Review 29:Location is convenient, nice price.

Review 30:nowhere to eat breakfast other than your room.

Review 31:Convenient for eating out and the airport

Review 32:situation of the hotel near everythings and just beside the casino hotel

Review 33:Loved the room. The bed was wonderful and the fire place was a delight.

Review 34:Crowded breakfast area.

Review 35:Handy to events.

Review 36:clean, quiet, wifi, fireplace, new TV

Review 37:Easy to get to; affordable, great location, great restaurant att'd!!

Review 38:Bedding from the 70's, old bulky furniture made for tight quarters.

Review 39:Location, wanted to spend some time at the Casino, to relax after supper and shopping,.

Review 40:Massage chair in the room...heaven! Very comfortable bed. Fireplace big screen tv....all so relaxing. Very friendly staffm

Review 41:The free breakfast was only mediocre.

Review 42:Very friendly staff. Convenient to Bangor downtown. Comfy beds.

Review 43:The bed. Too hard for me.

Review 44:The desk person, who worked the night shift on October 4th, was the best, most kind and most professional person.

Review 45:Next to the casino. We went to play and visit family. Gray hand was wonderful! Very good restaurant inside the Fireside

Review 46:Price- A bit too expensive for what you get.

Review 47:Location

Review 48:Breakfast offerings were terrible. Bed was not comfortable.

Review 49:Staff was nice.

Review 50:They booked us the wrong room and the bar closed at 11pm

Review 51:I didn't find anything that I didn't like. The Fireside Inn will be the hotel of choice when I return to Bangor.

Review 52:The staff was very helpful. There was no delay checking in and checking out. Very friendly and helpful at the reception desk.

Review 53:Small room, very dated and tiny bathroom -no elevator, poor plumbing ( toilet plugged), poor food at the on/site pub/restaurant and minuscule closet-like so-called breakfast room -stopped serving before we could try it even-no pool or even work-out room-would never stay here again for what I paid ($140.00) per night!!!

Review 54:Quiet room

Review 55:Continental breakfast was crammed into a closet size room. Literally no more than 2 peolpe could fit at a time. Was very odd.

Review 56:Location was perfect for our needs. Room was clean.

Review 57:The breakfast included was not the best. Including a brunch type deal at the restaurant would be ideal.

Review 58:The restaurant availability and staff at front desk was somewhat helpful.

Review 59:I found popcorn under the radiator, Wine cork behind the credenza. bobbypin and a stir stick on the floor. There was something white splashed on the bathroom door. The room had very old carpet and drapes.

Review 60:There was garbage left under the bed from previous guests, including paper bits and pieces along with a take out lid complete with a straw. I did not notice this until we checked out. The carpet edges were torn, coming apart from floor leaving them to move up the wall. the trim behind the door was coming away from the wall in different places. There was a big gap under the door leading out into the hallway. The breakfast room was only big enough for a couple of people so others were left milling about in the hallway waiting, also there were no chairs so we had to carry our breakfast back to our room.

Review 61:Dark when you walk in the room/should keep shades open/made theroom look dingy and yellow. Too many things in the room/perhaps takeout one chair. No elevator and I know it is good to walk but not alwaysfor people you have health problems/didn't give discounts tosenior citizens because of the concert. Parking is not great. Breakfastshould be in a small room not a pantry where it was hard for a lot ofpeople to get serviced. I would pay extra next time and stay else where.

Review 62:This was typical of an old motel and is very dated. Even though we hadeverything we needed, the price seemed to be too high when compared toother properties like the Hollywood Slots Hotel and Casino directlyacross the street where we had stayed nine days earlier.

Review 63:The location was close to the airport which we were looking for and wasalso convenient to restaurants. It had a fridge and microwave as well asone of those new Keurig ( ?) coffee makers which was the first timeI've seen that even though we didn't use it. There is also amicro brewrey and pub in the motel even though we didn't go therebut would be nice if you didn't want to leave the property.

Review 64:Very old facility---filthy carpet; unbelievably bad "continental breakfast." I would never recommend this place to anyone and I would never stay there again.

Review 65:Breakfast is not exactly "served". You help yourself to the usual motel breakfast items in a cupboard-size room - just large enough for 2-3 people. You take your breakfast back to your room on a tray.

Review 66:Nice on-site restaurant.

Review 67:It is a bit old and could do with some up dating.

Review 68:It was very handy to the highway and the casino if that is what you like. The restaurant was very good.

Review 69:This is an older facility and does not have a place to eat breakfast so u have to eat in your room. Food was okay though!

Review 70:The staff went out of their way to show us the facility and help us find our way around the town!

Review 71:Loud noises of vehicles due to close proximity to highway. Musty smell in hallways

Review 72:Location ....easy access to interstate and downtown core. Close to restaurant(s). Great parking. Friendly staff

Review 73:The floors were very dirty, the bottom of my daughters feet were blackafter walking around 15 minutes in the room. The whole hotel was veryout of date and in need of upgrading. We requested a crib on ourbooking, then had to ask the desk for a crib, the manager stated onewould be sent to our room shortly. We never did get the crib.

Review 74:Good location

Review 75:I really liked Liz at the front desk...She was very helpful and has a nice style and demeanor. Having the continental and coffee early in the morning ready was also pleasant.

Review 76:Like every hotel/motel, no matter what the price, the concept that two adults can subsist on two regular and two decaf cups of coffee is beyond logic...what's with the decaf?

Review 77:Everything was fine: friendly staff, reasonably priced including the attached restaurant, rooms well kept and equipped, liked the artwork in our room, the complimentary newspaper and whoopee-pies..

Review 78:1. the women who greeted us, didn't! 2. she was the same person who checked us out. 3. No coffee k-cups in the room, I did call down, they never came. That was ok, I stopped by Dunkins and picked up a 14 pack! 4. water pressure and water was just warm in shower.

Review 79:clean, comfortable and close to were we wanted to be. I stayed at the one at Auburn, and will be staying there again this weekend. No offense, but I like theirs better!

Review 80:We were turned away from the pub located in the Inn because it was full. We were guest in this Inn and felt it was very unacceptable to be turned away.

Review 81:The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 82:location near railroad tracks left something to be desired...parking lot was tight. Dated.

Review 83:Easy to find...responded quickly to my complaint about noisy neighbors.

Review 84:Breakfast a bit cramped. Others I have stayed in we're spacious with a wider variety.

Review 85:A little pricy

Review 86:Nothing- all good.

Review 87:Scott Harris, Bangor Me Restaurant had excellent food. Room was as expected, bed SUPER comfortable.

Review 88:o noisy heat pump

Review 89:bed comfortable excellent excellent foodat pub.

Review 90:Room small.

Review 91:Had a place to eat attached

Review 92:Beds uncomfortable

Review 93:Bed mattress was very soft and pillow were flat and uncomfortable

Review 94:Location and micro brew restaurant

Review 95:Poor breakfast ambience

Review 96:The fireplace is sooo cosy. Excellence everywhere, Good price for best quality.

Review 97:Room was very small. Dated decor.

Review 98:Hotel room was clean. Adequate for an overnight stopover.

Review 99:Had non-smoking room, hotel a bit older so can smell cigarette odor from smoking section.

Review 100:Great staff! Very accommodating and friendly!

Review 101:everything was find

Review 102:new updates tv and fireplace and great location

Review 103:No gym or work out area; no real breafast area and no full breakfast.

Review 104:beds by tempurpedic were excellent; fire in rooms is nice.

Review 105:Price a little high

Review 106:Beds were very cpmfortable

Review 107:smelled like old smoke. i would never, ever stay there again
