Reviews for Hotel Cavaleiros De Cristo

Review 1:Nothing. I could not say anything negative.

Review 2:Imagine a hotel with perfect location, nice and helpful personnel, cute, clean rooms and all these for a good price! Ever returning to Tomar I would not stay anywhere else!!!

Review 3:the airco blew directly towards me when I was in the bed, so I switched it of despite the high temperature

Review 4:Very helpfull staff. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and wholemeal bred, amongst others

Review 5:The location was great, and the staff manning the front desk was a great character and a lot of fun. But the hotel and facilities are old, though the bathrooms are clean and up to date.

Review 6:Could hear a fair bit of noise coming from the corridor in the morning, better sound-proofed doors would be good. The beds although comfortable enough, were a bit old and squeaky. Could do with a bit of modernisation.

Review 7:Great location in the centre of Tomar. Parking is easy nearby. The hotel is dated but offers everything you need. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 8:The wifi didn't work in the bedroom but only in the common area. Also parking is very convenient but you could only pay to park for 4 hrs at a time. That was a bit of a hassle as we had to return to the parking meter to get four more hours. The parking is free from 8pm to 8am.

Review 9:The staff was so helpful when we arrived. The location is ideal as it is in the center of town and walking distance to the Convento de Cristo. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices in a buffet. They was a very small fee for the breakfast. Finally the shower was delightful as it had lots of water pressure and hot water.

Review 10:The bed was too hard. The breakfast could have been tastier with a better variety of fruit and muesli should be included but it was the standard type of continental breakfast.the lighting in the bedroom was very poor. I would book a twin room next time rather than a single.

Review 11:The friendliness of the staff. The regular renewal of clean towels and sheets.

Review 12:The beds were slightly firm.

Review 13:A nice, simple hotel: cosy, comfortable and convenient for town. the air-conditioning was vital. No frills; just good value, well serviced, with friendly, helpful staff. The shower was easy to use and always reliable.

Review 14:The reception staff went over and beyond our expectations, sourcing taxi's and suggesting restaurants and generally helping us find our way around Tomar.

Review 15:Parking so close to historic center can be a problem. We were lucky to get a free spot on street so had to walk up the hill (steep) to the convent rather than drive, since we did not want to lose our space.

Review 16:The two young women at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location was great - within walking distance of all sights.

Review 17:For the price, I can't really be that picky, so nothing really.

Review 18:Very friendly and helpful staff. I found the location to be very good; close to the main square and a very short walk to the castle, but also very close to the park where a medieval fair was taking place that weekend. The price I paid was excellent and while accommodation was pretty basic, it was very clean and the room size was appropriate. I did not have breakfast included (it was 5 or 7 euros extra, which I found to be expensive), but there is a supermarket a couple of blocks from there where you can buy yogourt, pastries, etc. The room had a mini-bar, so I could keep drinks cool. Great option in Tomar. There is an elevator, so no need to go up and down the stairs with your backpack or luggage.

Review 19:Breakfast is poor. Not all products were fresh. Food variety was limited. Since it is extra now, you have to pay, it is not worth paying for breakfast. TV was bad. As usual in Portugal, breakfast is served too late! 8am to start serving breakfast is a joke, but they allow the guest to have breakfast earlier if requested.

Review 20:Very well located. The girls at the reception were very nice and helpful.

Review 21:Great Hotel in the centre of Tomar, Helpful staff and friendly. I would really recommend this Hotel and would certainly return. I would have liked a kettle in the room as having to wait for coffee shops to open when the bed is so comfy and warm does not encourage one to get up :)

Review 22:Pillows very poor and bed was cold. It would be a good idea to have tea/coffee making facilities in your room.Quoted less on line for price of room. When we got to the hotel we were told that it was more!

Review 23:Brilliant location

Review 24:i cant say i did nit like anything - it is just a hotel in an old building, so it is comfortable, but not fancy.

Review 25:location is great, and if you decide to stay in Tomat overnight - it is good choice. very central, nice restaurant nearby. there is an elevator in he building.

Review 26:A bit cold even though the air-conditioning is working (I heard that was the coldest winter in decades)

Review 27:Close to the city centre, walking distance to the monastery ,friendly staff and good breakfast :-)

Review 28:Sometimes the breakfast room was so over-crowded you could hardly move. And the coffee was too weak!

Review 29:One particularly friendly woman at reception gave us good advice about restaurants, etc. Though her English was excellent, she patiently listened to our attempts to speak Portuguese.

Review 30:would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in room, although coffee shops etc were only round the corner

Review 31:quiet location breakfast was good

Review 32:Breakfast itself was okay (apart from the very poor coffee) but the windowless breakfast room was functional at best.

Review 33:Cheerful, friendly staff. Good-sized, comfortable room. Balcony with partial views of both castle and park. Right in historic old town. Limited free parking directly outside but plenty more less than five minutes walk away. We liked both the hotel and Tomar enough to stay a second night when we only planned one.

Review 34:Noise sometimes from bins being emptied by the post office and the bar next door.

Review 35:Friendly, cheerful welcoming staff who will remember you on your next visit!

Review 36:Parking nearby is about 12€ a day - 3.80 € for 4 hours but we managed to find free roadside parking in front of hotel.

Review 37:Staff were very friendly. The hotel was within walking distance of all attractions. The Friday market is wonderful and the castle is well worth a visit - a bit of a climb but a bar at the top was welcome! A good local bar is Cafe Muchao. All in all a brilliant location in a lovely old town.

Review 38:In the summer there is some noise from outdoor music from bars etc on Friday and Saturday nights.

Review 39:Clean, good friendly service, walking distance to historic centre of Tomar.

Review 40:The hotel was easy to find in the center of the little town of Tomar. The staff was helpful and pleasant-walking a couple blocks to the main plaza one could see the knights templar castle--beautiful

Review 41:The TV didn't work. Funny! Of all the things to complain about... Rainy day so we got back early. The only time on the trip we tried to watch tv and it was a little boxy thing that didn't work.

Review 42:Very Quiet hotel. Comfortable bed. Very nice and helpful staff. Central location. Wifi worked well for us. The bathroom was roomy and clean. Every thing was clean and well kept. I would stay there again.

Review 43:We like a shower cubical, not a shower over a bath. Lack of parking is a problem.

Review 44:The position, good staff, a nice room with a balcony. A really nice town with good restaurant's and helpful people.

Review 45:Friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Clean rooms.

Review 46:Shower pressure wasn't very good. Staff's english could be better

Review 47:Cozy little hotel, bathroom and room were immaculately clean. Cheap!

Review 48:Quite basic.

Review 49:All about location and value.

Review 57:Beside very good restaurants. Also a beautiful river walk.

Review 58:The lounge area, the views and it was very peaceful. The staff at reception were very warm and accommodating.

Review 59:Great location within walking distance of sites. Clean, well maintained room & tasty breakfast. Value for money.

Review 60:Little bit old

Review 61:The lady in the reception was great!

Review 62:No bad experiences at all.

Review 63:Friendly staff, very helpful. Great location, clean & comfortable. Nice breakfast available if you want it.

Review 64:The staff were extremely helpful and nice.

Review 65:Lovely staff, very clean, great breakfast and good location.

Review 66:Couldn't find it with the GPS. Call for directions.

Review 67:The staff went out of their way to help us. Loved being in the center of town.

Review 68:Helpful staff

Review 69:the bathroom was old

Review 70:Friendly, very helpful staff, nice, clean rooms, good breakfast

Review 71:Good location, spacious room, excellent price. Appreciated the small fridge in the room...very rare in Portugal!

Review 72:Fascinating historic town. The hotel was perfectly adequate - no frills but good value for the price.

Review 73:Great staff,comfy clean room.

Review 74:Kindness Very very close to the temple

Review 75:little outdated bathroom

Review 76:Place in old city, not far from Tomar Castle(10 min walking), value for money

Review 77:Staff super helpful and friendly.

Review 78:Great location. Staff were excellent. Would stay there again.

Review 79:Beds were uncomfortable, pillows were terrible. Didn't make for a good nights sleep.

Review 80:The location was great, staff were very friendly.

Review 81:Good location and excellent desk staff. Basic breakfast, convenience store and restaurants nearby. Hotel is a good value overall.

Review 82:Everything is simple and easy. Cheap laundry service. By walking you get anywhere you need to go.

Review 83:room was very small and the ensuite was as small as you could get.

Review 84:Location. Near bars and restaurants

Review 85:location, staff, nice little place

Review 86:The room I stayed is small. I need to move the desk to get space the suitcase unpacked.

Review 87:Hotel is placed in the old town, you can go see every attraction within 10 minutes walk. The receptionists give me city informations and very friendly. The rooms are clean and wi-fi is not so bad.

Review 88:Wi-Fi could be better. TV was poor, but not staying in Tomar to watch TV!

Review 89:Staff are brilliant! We had a problem and they helped sort it out, nothing is too much trouble.

Review 90:Extremely dingy. Small gloomy rooms. Bad smell. No lobby. Barely adequate breakfast, though this is typical in Portugal.

Review 91:The desk staff were pleasant, there is free public parking nearby. Good restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Convento de Christo and the Jewish Synagogue site.

Review 92:Breakfast is served from 8 am which is totally unacceptable. The world is moving, living, so 8 am is an absurd. Furthermore, the breakfast room is very small, hot and because it is served so terribly late everybody gets there at the same time and barelly we have space to move. I did like the place, but would not stay there because of the time that the breakfast is served.

Review 93:Localization. Breakfast is good. Free internet ok. Good value for money.

Review 94:The room is a bit old abd the bathroom is very very small and uncomfortable.

Review 95:The staff was very kind and helpfull. The breakdast is ok and there is ab elevator.

Review 96:It would have been helpful to have had a hair dryer in the room. Otherwise, everything was great.

Review 97:Staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated being upgraded to a lovely room with a balcony with a view of the park and outlook to the castle. The hotel's location in the old town meant it was within walking distance to everything, including the castle. We didn't need to use our car at all during our stay.

Review 98:wish breakfast would be better but it's hard to beat 50 Euro per night including breakfast.

Review 99:The hotel is in a great location, clean, good WIFI (Portugal hotels have below average wifi), helpful staff (speaks English), quiet and 15 minutes walk to the best attraction in town Convento de Cristo.

Review 100:Parking is a bit of an issue - if there is no parking outside the hotel - which is often, you can park for free a couple of minutes away from 8pm to 8am. Just make sure you pay for 30 mins at 8am before you go out for the day!

Review 101:The hotel is situated in the old part of Tomar, walking distance of the castle and the historic parts. It was perfect for anyone who likes to sit in the old piazza in the evening and slack out. The staff at the hotel could not be more helpful and friendly.

Review 102:Somewhat noisy (street sounds, people) until 10 or 11 pm; quiet after that.

Review 103:Central location; very close to a lovely major park. Walking distance from train/bus station and major attractions. Friendly; very clean; excellent breakfast included.

Review 104:the personnel went out of their way to help me. They were kind and friendly. Ofered to move my car to non paying park. Frendly talk and good tips to better enjoy my staying on the city. I loved it and will recomend to my friends. Thank you.

Review 105:Free parking in front of hotel was allways taken when we needed it but found nearby available parking (just around the corner) free between 8.00pm and 8.00am and there is also free parking about 5 mins walk from hotel

Review 106:Very nice location in town centre, staff very helpful and friendly, clean and comfortable room.

Review 107:Having to ask for hairdryer as not one in the room, although was always available when asked for.

Review 108:Second time we have used the Hotel Cavaleiros De Cristo. Very handy location for all things Tomar, staff very helpful and pleasant.

Review 109:We didn't use the bathroom but it didn't look very attractive.

Review 115:Poor Wi-Fi No kettle in room

Review 116:Friendly staff Early breakfast provided upon request
