Reviews for Springs Hotel and Spa

Review 1:The keys wouldn't work, some things in the room were in poor repair. Most of all the heat wouldn't work and we told the person at the desk but they didn't move us or offer a discount.

Review 2:The location.

Review 3:The heat in the room was not working. Only cold air would come out. It was fixed the 2nd day by employees I met in one of the elevators (where I just happen to mention how cold it was in my room)

Review 4:The night staff was excellent ( I believe her name was Christy). She went out of her way to insure my visit was good,

Review 5:The hotel is located downtown within walking distance to shopping and attractions. The staff members were very friendly and very helpful. This hotel is good for the price and location.

Review 6:Room was not as nice as before. I may have had a suite before. Bathroom was small. Hot water and cold alternated during my shower:(.

Review 7:Staff was friendly Hotel was nicely decorated

Review 8:Had asked for a room on the backside NOT the streetside. Had to stay on streetside. Noisy, Noisy, Noisy! The only downfall of the trip.

Review 9:Loved the location and the history. Had a massage at the SPA, Sheryl was AWESOME. Will definately stay here again and have another massage.

Review 10:The bathroom is very small compared to my little apartment, also there are dripping stains from the air conditioner.

Review 11:The location is excellent. Everything on the strip is within walking distance.

Review 12:One pillow case had a small stain. The bed linen had a tear in it. Thermostat was antiquated. No lockable security safe in the room. No hair dryer. No refrigerator. Coke machine took my money. No coffee pot. Hotel restaurant was closed down. Hotel bar was closed down. The lobby and my room had an unidentifiable odor. This is hotel identifies itself as a "resort" hotel. Maybe thirty years ago it was. Today it is way too expensive (I paid about $125 per night). You're essentially paying for the location downtown. A suite at the La Quinta Inn is better.

Review 13:Great location downtown. The elevator was extremely fast. The television had almost every channel you can imagine. Air condition worked well. Wi-Fi was great. Private balcony with a street view.

Review 14:Mold in the shower. Bed was made and towels replenished but trash was not removed after the first night. Didn't appear to have been cleaned. No coffee was left for us.

Review 15:Location was great, less than a mile from convention center.

Review 16:Staff is very incompetent and disrespectful. Hotel is privately owned so there is no oversight and it shows. Card was double charged as well and I've been trying to get it fixed for a month now.

Review 17:The location and balconies over downtown

Review 18:the room was very shabby. rust and chipped paint in bathroom and balcony. t.v. was not programmed, clock was not set bathroom door was falling apart at the bottom. bathroom was not clean. I have had nicer rooms for half what I spent here.

Review 19:great location, staff was very helpful and friendly. we rode a motorcycle and parking was GREAT.

Review 20:Upon arriving, desk clerk was on phone being chewed out by otherguest...did not feel confident after that.. The reason she was upset wasthe loudest gangster hip hop music I had ever heard playing from ourpool area...her kids were unable to use pool due to private party... Myroom had mold on floor behind shower and Sheetrock was coming apart.

Review 21:Location was great

Review 22:The parking for the hotel was just not for the hotel..good luck getting a spot..room had a terrible smell...no café...no bar...the vending machines for drinks did not work..the elevators did not work all the time..when we arrive their was a altercation going on in the lobby...the pool was dirty...you better have your on pool towel.

Review 23:The location is the only thing good about this hotel.

Review 24:Smell of room, things didn't work, no mini fridge in room. Dirty windows, pool area was in disarray (ripped cushions on chairs) balcony was dirty.

Review 25:Great location. Cute lounge.

Review 26:front desk clerk was surly at PM check-in. Guest room was filthy! I would not walk on the old, nasty carpet barefoot! Was the bedding clean? Not sure, but I'm pretty sure I was bitten while sleeping. Bathroom was also kind of gross.

Review 27:Location was conveniently located on the Main Street, but nearer to the seedy side of town which has definitely seen better days. Walking distance to historic bath houses, springs, shops, and scenic walk/drive up to viewing tower. plenty of parking a short walk away.

Review 28:did not realize parking was not adjacent to hotel, so parked on street in front instead of lot behind and up hill; no sugar/creamer set-ups for in-room coffee and took forever for desk staff (only person we ever saw) to locate any

Review 29:great location, nice staff

Review 30:No place to eat no cleaning service phone didn't work its run down needs some attention to it ice machine didn't work but on 4 floor no good parking area

Review 31:There's not a continental breakfast, and the parking isn't too bad, just a little inconvenienced.

Review 32:I liked the view from the room facing downtown.

Review 33:Very poor customer service. The parking lot was behind the building with poor lighting and a sign that said "Park at your own risk." The room was filthy. Bed was broken, phone did not work, floors were dirty, while in the shower the curtain rod fell, and there was human feces on the toilet seat. We will not recommend or stay here again.

Review 34:The downtown location.

Review 35:The rooms themselves need renovating. The carpet is torn in places and the bathroom door looked like it belonged at a truck stop. Also, we needed to change rooms when we arrived because the first room wasn't properly cleaned - hair in the bathroom.

Review 36:The staff was friendly and readily responded to our needs and/or questions. The lobby was beautiful and the spa was very good.

Review 37:The parking and they didn't clean it good but location wasn't bad an it being an old historic hotel wasn't bad but still could use some upgrades on the room.

Review 38:The view an the lady at the desk was great.

Review 39:How can a ompany Like Booking.Com even advertise a hotel like this .... I have stayed at Confor INN and I can tell you for that kind of money we spended I feel I should get my money back .... but I guess that will be IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Review 40:NONE AT ALL !!! first room we were giving the wall was totaly destroyed covered with mold and the carpet OH MY GOD !!! afraid to even take my shoes off !!

Review 41:The hotel didn't offer there massage and other things just the baths on Sunday.

Review 42:Great location right downtown within waking distance of a lot of attractions, foods and shopping

Review 43:The rooms was just kind of run down and the beds was broken. We got in the room it was so hottest the fan work only on med. The floors turn all our feet black. The pool was clean but there was all kinds of bugs all in it.

Review 44:Tv. Pool

Review 45:We were on 7th floor and the halls smelled of cigarette smoke even though we were in a none smoking room. I asked for something lower but none available I was told. As an elderly couple, this smell really bothered us since wife is allergic to tobacco. Also would not acknowledge military discount saying not available when booking with booking.com.

Review 46:The location was good.

Review 47:When we checked in our room would not lock and by the time we got it fixed all the shops were closed. They said it was fixed so when we tried to leave the next morning it still would not lock. Wasted 2 more hrs. Finally switched rooms and the air did not work. The pool was closed until the last day of our stay when I specifically asked if it was open when I made reservations. And the spa was a joke. The only good part was the massage. She was fantastic.

Review 48:The staff was very friendly.

Review 49:The Desk Clerk was very unfriendly day one. One of our children locked the door as soon as we unloaded and Desk clerk was almost rude. No Hair Dryer available from Front Desk yet cleaning staff said available daily. The balcony was so nasty, Carpet Nasty. I do realize the facility was old but it should have been cleaner. The reservation was not correct as booked. We did not have ajoining rooms.

Review 50:At the end, Desk Clerk seemed more friendly. Staff was always Friendly. The location was perfect.

Review 51:I keep trying to give this place a chance. But I'm done. Stayed 3 times and twice the air conditioner doesn't work. Needs major overhaul!

Review 52:Location!

Review 53:/it needs new staff and some professional help, half the tv channels work and the front desk staff looked like the just came back from a construction site

Review 54:the location is great and they have a beautiful spa

Review 55:The carpet was nasty, no stopper for bathtub clock radio did not work, coffee pot dirty (had to clean before using) and there was an outdoorwedding reception on terrace with blaring dj until 10p pm then weddingguest were out there for another hour very frustrating when you rent ahotel room and can"t rest because of mismanagement and of coursethe desk clerk could do nothing he couldn't even find the manager(according to him). Stayed there about 10 years ago but never willagain !!!!!!

Review 56:The bed was clean and comfortable that was the only positive!

Review 57:Poor housekeeping is the main thing. They did not change or even make up the bed all four days we were there. Also did not empty the trash baskets. Only ice maker working was on the 4th floor. Pakring was awfull on Friday evening. This hotel could be 4 star if renovated but i can only give it one and maybe a half at this time.

Review 58:Location is great and the bed comfortable.

Review 59:The closet door was broken, there were stains on the beds, splatters onthe pictures on the walls, loud neighbors, horrible parking, andhorrible customer service.

Review 60:Nothing.

Review 61:We loved this place. Our kids loved exploring and couldn't wait to get back after the day's activities just to go explore. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals there (utensils, pots/pans, toaster, slow cooker, even a rice cooker). The washer and dryer was great because we got to wash clothes that got really dirty while out exploring with the kids, (rather than waiting to do it when we got home). Oh, and since you there isn't much of an Internet connection. out there, there is no arguing with older kids about being on their phone texting too much!

Review 62:The room was hot and the traffic noise outside was bad. It is not well insulated. And when we asked about the air the guy took us to some other rooms to check and when they were all hot all he said is sorry and didn't try to fix the problem any further.

Review 63:Location only

Review 64:Parking situation is unsafe and inconvenient. Signs posted, "Park at your own risk". First room they gave us looked like animal house had just left. The second one smelled so bad, I'd have slept in my car before getting in the bed. We're not picky, just ask for clean:(

Review 65:The service was horrible. 1 ice machine for all 139 rooms. When they were out they would not bring any in for the guests.

Review 66:I had a decent bed to sleep in and the room was nice.

Review 67:Paid extra for a street view king room and had an alley view with two doubles. Not a lot extra but couldn't even get the manager to call me.

Review 68:Great location.

Review 69:The room was filthy and I requested a Jon smoking room due to bad allergic to smoke and a kid on chemo and I was told after we already got there that all they had were smoking rooms, sorry!! I asked to be moved and they refused.

Review 70:Location is about it

Review 71:Poorly maintained, carpet in room I wouldn't walk on without shoes. They ran out of coffee for the room, didn't make bed one day. Could go on but won't.

Review 72:Not much

Review 73:Beds were uncomfortable! Pillows old and hard! Cleaning staff really need to be reevaluated and showed what clean really is! Stayed 2 nights and hard to get room cards reset 3 times which was each time we returned to the hotel!

Review 74:This hotel is diamond in the rough. Has potential to be restored to original glory and can tell they are trying to do that. Got a ways to go though. Bar and cafe closed at this time.

Review 75:Location! Comfy beds. Great value off travel website. Staff was great!

Review 76:It was so hot in our room. We complained to the staff twice and nothing was ever done about it. On our last effort I went to the front desk and explained to the man how hot it was. All he did was write our room number on a piece of paper and put it beside the computer. When we passed by the front desk 3 hours later it was still there. Thanks for acting concerned.... We visit Hot Springs once a year and have been staying here for the past 5. But after our last two stays, I believe we'll be staying at The Arlington from now on.

Review 77:Really the only thing I can say bad about this hotel is that its in need of a little updating... other than that it was a great stay for the price!!

Review 78:After the long motorcycle ride we really appreciated the super fast check in at the front desk!! We arrived at 3pm and were in the elevator by 3:02 pm. Upon entering our room we were very suprised tho find the air conditioning had been turned on prior to our arrival. Let me just say that was a very nice surprise on a HOT day!!!

Review 79:The mattress were very uncomfortable need new ones please!!! No free breakfast or restaurant open on site.

Review 80:The customer service from Hotel and Spa. The spacious rooms and the location. The price was great too.

Review 81:There was no air in the hotel. The front desk assured us the air would be back on at the end of day. There was no air for our entire stay. Not happy about that . Housekeeping helped themselves to some snacks that we had in our room.

Review 82:The location was great.

Review 83:our reservation got messed up. we received a call after one night of staying there saying that we needed to move or leave the hotel. because they said we only had reservations for one night. It was all messed up and confusing and we were very upset. but it was all settled and we stayed another night. but then the air conditioning froze up. And we had a leak in the bathroom floor from this.. don't really want to stay there again. My boyfriend always did business with this place and to be treated like this was not right!

Review 84:It did have an odd odor at first when entering the building.

Review 85:We have stayed here a couple of times and have NOT had any problems... We Love the location ! We stay in a room in the back facing the rock wall... It's much quieter!!! Our room was very clean...

Review 86:Internet connection was sketchy, TV news programming scrambled, apparently a lot of staff scheduled to work (housekeeping) decided to take the long weekend off anyway so room wasn't ready till well after check in. I was also not aware of the Harley traffic up and down Central Avenue all day and night, and MC's in large groups. Very annoying, and the room design unfortunately did little to shut it out.

Review 87:The room was awesome! Close and convenient to the tourist "strip", everything was within walking distance, knowlegeable and helpful front desk staff.

Review 88:Old rugs, smelly room even though we ask for non smoking. Bathroom outdated. No breakfast. Sak a couple of question to staff no answers. Overall for the money spent , you better off in a tent.

Review 89:Location

Review 90:Service, maid did not clean room, floor was dirty when we got there. To expensive for quality of room and service. Price did not include continental breakfast. Balcony had cigarette butts on it. Ceilings were stained. Needs all new upgrade in rooms.

Review 91:The price. Our room didn't even have a mini-fridge or microwave. The hotels down the street offered these at half the price.

Review 92:The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Couldn't have asked for a better location to stay during the trip. The hotel is located right on the main drag and made exploring the area very easy.

Review 93:The guy at the front desk was very rude. I made reservations for two double bed rooms. He gave us a room with a queen, the other room was not ready so we did not see what that one was.I came back down and he said they were totally booked and did not have anything other than queens. There were six of us girls. He made reference to Booking.com that if you make reservations through places like that you have to take what you get. The operations manager was on the phone but overheard how upset I was and intervened. We got two rooms with double beds. He was extremely nice to us. The first guy needs lessons in customer service.

Review 94:We have stayed at the spring numerous times. We love the location down town. Usually the staff is super nice. We LOVE the boutique on ground level. That lady is wonderful!

Review 95:The bed was hard. Two pillows for a king bed. No hair dryers. No coffee makers. It was a Hassel to get clean towels because our room only had one when we checked in. The pool (even tho out of season) was open and about two ft deep of green stinky slime. No breakfast. The wifi didn't work. All around horrible stay. I could've stayed at the travel lodge for $200 less with a much more pleasant experience

Review 96:The location of the hotel is nice

Review 97:Hotel had a certain charm but some areas needed attention...no complimentary breakfast but there was a nice cafe in the lobby.

Review 98:The location was great...very close to local shops and restaurants...

Review 99:Enjoyed being in town in walking distance from lots of shops and places to eat the staff friendly and helpful room was clean the balcony was nice the food in the cafe was very good and staff there very friendly would like go back and try the spa

Review 100:The experience was not great , as soon as we open up our room there were another couple in there.when we went to exchange room the staff didn't even apologize for the mistake.

Review 101:didn't like anything about the place at all parking was a long way off.

Review 102:Spa bath in hotel was not working. Hotel needs to be modernised and decorated. Bathhouse and Brewery nearby restaurant was average food and very expensive.

Review 103:Hotel staff and locals were very friendly. Pleasant area to walk in.

Review 104:We booked this hotel because of the spa. When we arrived we found outthat it is closed during the week. Nowhere did we see this mentioned onthe website. The staff was unfriendly and the tv in a cabinet which wasway too small for it. That just on a side note. We did not receive theexpected comfort at all. No breakfast included - we were told to goelsewhere. Really? Worst hotel experience ever! Also, I wanted a quietroom and we received a room to the front. At 4 am we were woken by astreet cleaner.

Review 105:The free WiFi and the beds.

Review 106:Everything! Go to the nearest motel before you pay for this musty, dirtydump. We had pubes on bathroom floor and 3/5 dirty towels. Thepillow case was dirty, the balcony had old food and drinks spilled andnastiness everywhere. The toilet seat was so dirty I had to clean it.Old, uncomfortable bed and pillows. The Austin down the road is fabulousfor around same price. Enjoy yourself while in the beautiful HotSprings. Not be disgusted to return to your room ;)

Review 107:The guy that checked us in was nice

Review 108:Heat & Air shut-off for winter-room was hot. Spa only open Fri.,Sat., Sun, (winter schedule) Balcony had no view of anything you would want to see. Very inconvenient parking (unless handicapped)

Review 109:The 6am trash pickup. Twice ! The overall low end feel. Motel 6 has a better maintained property.... The rate I paid compared to the property was completely backwards.

Review 110:Nothing !

Review 111:To start with, the intense smell whenever you walk ino the place was horrible. The floors were stained and disgusting. The room itself stank and was so hot that the only way to get anyour relief was to open the balcony door. We wound up having to get a box fan and have it run and the door stay open all night because there was no air and we still sweat all night even though if was cool outside. Talked with a girl down the hall from us and she had also sweat all night. Tried walking down the stairs from the 4th floor but was unable to get past the 2nd because of all the trash pulled up in front of the door and a sign they had put up saying not to use the door. It was a horrible experience. I will never return to this place and would definitely never recommend it

Review 112:The location wasn't bad.

Review 113:The hotel has not upgraded rooms in years. The carpet was torn and stained. No hair dryer in the bathroom. We had to ask for a iron there was not one in the room.

Review 114:The bed was comfortable and it's a good location downtown.

Review 115:They didn't clean the room the whole time of our stay .. Had to fine some one just to get clean towel's .

Review 116:We were there on our honeymoon.. And the room was nice

Review 117:Housekeeping late. Mold around tub. Just need to do better cleaning. Need to update Air conditioning system.

Review 118:Friendly and helpful staff. Bed linens and towels were clean.

Review 119:The worst hotel ever! The clerk when we walked in around 4:00 pm wasrude he did not speak to us and we were the only ones in the lobby atthe time. His speech sounded like he had tobacco in his mouth, rude, just rude. When we got to our room 422 the rug was as old as thebuilding it looked of dirt and wear. The bathroom tile on the wall wascracked and dilapidated. It was tolerable, the room was. Later my sistersat on her bed and it broke. Thankfully, the front desk sent up themaintenance employee and he offered us another room (a suite on the 9thfloor). One would think a suite would be superb it was tolerable. Thebed was warped in the middle it gave me back problems and a crook in myneck. The bathroom and the rug was better, however the tv did not work.We complained and someone came and repaired it. Another issue was theonly ice makers there were was on the 4th and 9th floors. The ninthfloor ran out, besides the machine was off. Who want to carry the icebucket to the floor at the end of the hall just to get ice. Never againwill we stay in this hotel, only thing that I can say was good is therooms did not smell.NEVER AGAIN! Annie Hunt

Review 120:It did not smell

Review 121:Our booking.com reservation could not be accommodated. We were told the rooms should not have been listed on the site. We were given a "smoking room" as the only room left available. We took it because it was late and other hotels in the area were already booked. What a dump!!

Review 122:When we arrived we were told someone at the hotel had canceled our reservation? The girl at the desk apologized and instead of the king suite my husband and I reserved we got two full size beds. The toilet was like everyone you've ever seen in public restrooms, no lid and pull handle. The bathroom also didn't have a hair dryer. Every hotel I've stayed for the last ten yes had a hair dryer. Also no iron for your clothes! Would not recommend or stay here ever again.

Review 123:Best thing about this hotel is it's location.

Review 124:I was disappointed the spa was not open during our visit.

Review 125:I liked the history and feeling like I was in an historic setting, the lobby was gorgeous and I really enjoyed the balcony and the fact I was within walking distance of so much.

Review 126:Needs to be updated, renovated. Paper peeling off the walls, stains on carpets. Spa was not opened while we were there.

Review 127:It was convenient to lots of things.

Review 128:Our tv had no satellite called front desk no help at all told th the next morning when we checked out and acted like it was no big deal something could be updated and the iron didn't work either

Review 129:I love the location

Review 130:The parking was far from entrance to building, the A.C. Was not so good but we stayed in February so we just opened door to balcony and cable was not so good at all !

Review 131:Location was very good the balcony was sweet loved to watch the people the newly remodeled bathroom Wes very nice!!!!! I will be back !!

Review 132:Hotel needs some serious TLC. Elevators need renovating, rooms are drafty from outside.

Review 133:Old Hot Springs historical charm. The restaurant served authentic cajun food which was to die for!

Review 134:The whole hotel is old and decrepit and needs to be updated. The room had holes in the walls (not huge). The carpet was filthy, don't try to eat at restaurant. The owner seemed more interested in throwing a party for his girlfriend than opening the resturant. Overall it was a bad experience.

Review 135:We have nothing good to say.

Review 136:Internet is all

Review 137:Enjoyed the room and the view we had .........just could not connect to the WiFi was slow......everyone here was polite and helpful... .

Review 138:Internet slow to nonexistent. Front desk attendees obviously bored. No smile, no hello, no acknowledgement. Nada... ...Can't have everything!

Review 139:... I said it all in the headline.
