Reviews for Sakli Konak Cappadocia

Review 1:Rooms were clean, spacious and a perfect mix of tradition and modernity. The staff was just beyond friendly and helpful. Riza, the owner of the hotel, literally helped us plan out our whole stay in Cappadocia and used his experience to help us find the little gems in konya, pamukkale and istanbul. The food was very homely and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast, where they bring out a cart with a collection of homemade jam/marmalade. Simply a very highly recommendable hotel to stay at!

Review 2:The staff here is very perfessional and afforded us a lot of helps. Our trip became much more better with them. And we will choose here as our next trip accomandation also.

Review 3:It was a little cold as the central heat wasn't on the first day -- but they gave us a space heater and there were plenty of blankets. So it was fine.

Review 4:The staff was helpful and friendly without being pushy. We got good advice on our visit. The restaurant (and especially breakfast) was amazing.

Review 5:We liked the well-retrofitted rooms, small atmosphere, wonderful and helpful staff, and breakfasts. We enjoyed two dinners there, too, both great. It felt like home in just a few days.

Review 6:Excellent staff, good size room and fabulous home style Turkish breakfast. The owner Riza went out of his way to accommodate us during our stay planning our time in the region and assisting us with the hot air balloon booking when the area was full

Review 7:Nothing to dislike about this place.

Review 8:Everything! We are group of 4 (2 couples) first time travelling to Cappadocia Turkey and we were greeted with very warm welcome by the host, Riza. Sakli Konak is a small cozy boutique hotel that has only 8 rooms (if not mistaken), very clean, comfortable, peaceful, has great location, superb host and scrumptious food. Riza has definitely raised the bar high. The next 2 nights in another hotel cannot be compared. Wished we have stayed here longer. Location wise: Best place in Uchisar to stay in, near to the main town Goreme. For those who are travelling first time to Cappadocia, you will not regret choosing this place. We definitely will come back here again! Thanks Riza for being a great host!

Review 9:My mom and I stayed at Sakli Konak Cappadocia for two nights and I must say we were not disappointed. The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area which is perfect for travellers looking for relaxation. The antique and renovated hotel with stone archades proposes 8 rooms, making it more cosy and quiet. Ghazi, owner of this lovely family business, is a one-man show. He makes sure to cater everyone's needs from airport shuttle, to balloon ride bookings, city tours and much more. This one-to-one approach made our stay even more enjoyable. Last but not least, the food! Out of all the places I've travelled to, Sakli Kona's home made food was by far the best I've had. Breakfast offers amazing variey of local products (cheese, homemade jam etc) while dinners did not fail to impress us! We highly recommend this place! You will not regret it!

Review 10:Fantastic stay in a delux room with a lovely terrace - perfect for a drink before a delicious dinner in the restuarant. The breakfast was amazing and enormous! I would definately recommend staying here

Review 11:Riza, the owner, is beyond accommodating, it's rare to find someone so engaged with ensuring his guests have a great stay. The town of Uchisar is a perfect base for exploring the region.

Review 12:Perhaps some closets in the room would help, then again they might take way form the authentic village house look

Review 13:Riza was a great host, starting with the welcome tea, to mapping out our capadoccia itinerary to probably the best breakfast in the land of great breakfasts, this is most certainly a great place to stay. Riza, his wife and the staff were extremely helpful. PS: Did I mention that their restaurant is great!!!

Review 14:The owner/ manager was very helpfull when recommending which tours we should take. Incredible breakfast!!!! something out of this world. Very nice building and rooms.

Review 15:We spent a great time at sakli konak, we felt just like home. The owner helped us organize our stay in cappadocia and gave us a lot of useful tips and information. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, the room is very cosy and romantic. The hotel is perfectly located near the bus stop to goreme and near the center of uchisar. Highly recommandable.

Review 16:The room smells musky, but that's because it's made of the same material found in caves!

Review 17:You will not have a better dining experience in the country of Turkey than this place. Riza is an incredibly sweet man and he and his staff will stop at nothing to make sure you're taken care of. Teşekkür ederim!

Review 18:There was nothing that we didn't like.

Review 19:Staying at Sakli Konak was amazing. We couldn't make a better choice in Cappadocia, even thought we stayed there 7 nights. General: The konak is very nice, clean, near to the Uchisar Castel. The rooms are big enough, the bed was confortable and, the most important thing on summer, had a nice temperature. Even thought outside were 37C, inside was just perfect. Stuff: Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Riza helped us with information and he prepared our adventures for each day so we didn't have to worry about anything. They really managed to make us feel like home, but without the worries! Food: The food was amazing. Very tasty and delicious and a lot! The breakfast had so many types of cheese, olives, gems and many other local food. Also, they surprised us every morning with some new specialities along with the default ones. An important thing is that the water, tea and coffee was free all day long, not only during the breakfast. Cleaning: the rooms were cleaned everyday, the sheets and towels as well. I was impressed by the fact that the cleaning lady even arranged our clothes that we have left on the (arm)chair. Internet worked pretty well, we didn't have problems with it and it was, of course, free. We did stay a pretty long period there (7 nights), but we never got bored. Sakli Konak is the perfect place to relax or read a book in a hot day.

Review 20:Staff serving dinner need a little more training with regard to the menu and pointing out the options available. We were glad we came by car, as it would have been difficult to see the main sites on foot. Also the Uçhisar district is expensive, sometimes ridiculously so. This was also pointed out to us by some of the locals. The pottery-making facility pointed to us by the hotel staff was not very good, the "artisan-master (usta)" who is supposed to show you how to make the pottery was a sulky teenager who acted like he had better things to do than deal with us.

Review 21:The breakfast spoils you for choices. The food served in the evening is also really good, albeit a bit expensive in line with the general prices in the region. The hotel is very well kept and clean, and the "arched" rooms have a lot of character. The staff are informative and helpful, especially Rıza Bey.The location of the hotel is very close to the Uçhisar castle.

Review 22:The room was delightful and the food was amazing. Although we weren't able to meet the owner of the hotel, all of the staff made our stay a great one.

Review 23:Great facility, Great location, Great staff. Walking distance to the Uchisar Castle and Pigeon Valley overlook. Excellent meals. Highly recommend. Town was charming - not a touristy as goreme.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:From the time you enter this place, you feel like you are being taken care of. This is a small boutique hotel (converted from a traditional Cappadocia house) and run by Reza and his wife. On the day we arrived, Reza spent more than an hour helping us plan our 3 days in Cappadocia. He drew a map of the important places/sights and that turned out to be very useful (we used it on all 3 days.) He also helped us book the hot air balloon ride as well as rent a car. However, the best part about this hotel is the food they serve in their restaurant - by far some of the most delicious food that we've had on our trip. The breakfast is a rich spread and even their a la carte menu is delicious. They cooked a special vegetarian pasta for us and it was delicious. Highly recommended!

Review 26:everything! The host and his staff do their best to make you feel welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and creatively designed with many local touches. Restaurant is fab: they cook local simple dishes wich are simply delicious. the hotel is 5 minutes walk away from the castle where you can get panoramic views over Cappadocia.

Review 27:sıcak, hoş, küçük bir otel. Sahibi Rıza bey tüm konaklayanlarla tek tek ilgileniyor, yöreyle ilgili bilgi veriyor, hatta bizim için gezi güzergahı bile yaptı. Kaldıgımız odanın hamam şeklindeki banyosu çok hoşumuza gitti, kahvaltı da çok güzel, akşam yemeginde testi kebabını kaçırdık, sabahtan rez yapmak lazımmış, gidecek olanların aklında olsun

Review 28:Very friendly and helpful hosts. Location is excellent for exploring Cappadocia. Small boutique hotel with only several rooms, great breakfast ( included) and also very delicious local food dinner ( reservations recommended). The owners, an young couple, make you feel at home.

Review 29:The owner was really kind and helpful. He draw a map of Cappadocia highlighting the best places to visit and gave good tips. The breakfast was fantastic and authentic. We really liked our stay at the hotel.

Review 30:Nothing.

Review 31:Cute and modern cave hotel with all the comforts of an upscale hotel, but the hospitality of a family run establishment. The staff and owner of the hotel will go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect.

Review 32:Unfortunately the bed was a little too small for 2 people and too hard for our comfort. Furthermore in Turkey they use a down very narrow (but it happens more or less everywhere) which doesn't cover two people

Review 33:The hotel is located very close to the Uchisar castle in a very quiet street. There are only 8 rooms but of great charm in an old stone building that has been restored and updated to the modern comforts with care and love. In the restaurant Riza will offer you a selection of dishes of the traditional Turkish cuisine. If necessary they can cook for you something new and in a different way so that your meal will never be the same of the previous day. And if you have the opportunity to have also the breakfast, then you'll experience a huge variety (and also quantity !) of different delicacies in Turkish style.

Review 34:The hospitality of the owners and additionally the meals. Both the included breakfast (the best during our weeklong stay in Turkey) and dinner in the restaurant were exceptional. The Turkish Bath in the bedroom was a nice way to relax on a cold day.

Review 35:Excellent hospitality Excellent food (dinner and breakfast are such a treat) Beautiful terrace with view of castle Very comfortable room with hamam in bath Great location

Review 36:One of the best places to stay in Cappadocia. Mr. Riza, the owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend this place to all.

Review 37:Little mold in the shower area.

Review 38:Every thing was magnificent. Love, love, the whole look of the authentic capadocia house. The breakfast was out of this world!! The rooms were beautifully decorated. I wish we had more time to stay there. Reza, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and guided us very well in what to see. He also gave us extra room since the family room had 4 beds and we were 5. They also served us welcome tea... Which was very nice. The whole hotel was very clean except some mold in the shower area. We had a great time there.

Review 39:Special room decoration. We feel like living in another century, another kingdom. It is a very helpful hotel, very patient pick-up service, exquisite home-prepared breakfast, 18 century dinner atmosphere, very useful tourist information . Anyway, every arrangement is beyond our expectation.

Review 40:Riza was especially helpful in assisting us in planning our itinerary (and providing value for money options) and took special care in ensuring we are comfortable, as I was travelling while 5 months pregnant. couldn't ask for a more delightful host. He was thoughtful and sweet, and gave us a bag of promegranate tea when I made mention that the tea was nice.

Review 41:nothing.

Review 42:We really appreciated the personal interaction with the owners, they strive to make our stay a memorable experience. They helped on bookings for all activities. Their knowledge on the area are really helpful.

Review 43:From the free upgrade to the deluxe room to the breakfast were we couldn't even finish half of the amazing food we had a great time in Sakli Konak Cappadocia. The hosts were great in planning our trips, very friendly and welcoming. Would gladly recommend the place far all our fellow travellers!

Review 44:Mr Rıza and his wife were great hosts. Breakfast was extraordinary, not like hotel breakfast to be honest it was better the ones i was having back at home. The room we stayed in was a deluxe double room with a terrace which was amazing with a great hot tub. The location was great too, very close to göreme and to air ballons. I would definetly suggest Saklı Konak to anyone who wish to visit Kapadokya!

Review 45:Staying here was definitely the high point of my trip to Turkey. The food was amazing, by far the best I had on my trip. The room clean and very comfortable. And Riza, the owner, was great. He helped me plan out what I wanted to do, without trying to sell me anything. It was like I didn't have to do anything except eat good food, see amazing things, and drink tea. I loved the location too. Uchisar is right above Goreme and only a 10 ride away. Everything was much closer than I had pictured. But the views from Uchisar and the castle shouldn't be missed. My only regret was not staying longer.

Review 46:fırst of all , I had some questıons ın my mind before I arrived over there , confort of hotel and food or personel some thıngs lıke that but ı changed my ıdea after ı saw mr. rıza . they showed us awesome hospıtality and friendly , room ıs clean and staff ıs wellcomıng , cat ıs cute . ı guess that they servıce all of whatever you want :D

Review 47:The bathroom was a little chilly I'm December. But all in all, the room was very comfortable.

Review 48:The owners could not have been more hospitable. They take the time to sit down and help plan your time in Cappadocia, and they didn't pitch any tours in the process.

Review 49:Mr. Riza and his wife were excellent hosts. He welcomed us warmly into his hotel, and drew us a personalized map of the surrounding sights. He even arranged our hot air ballon ride and a taxi driver for seeing the nearby sights, at excellent prices! The hotel is very clean, cozy and wonderful. Overall, I highly recommend Sakli Konak and Mr. Riza to those visiting the area.

Review 50:Reza and his wife run a wonderful quaint boutique hotel. He will discuss with you any activities you wish to arrange, and will even assist in arranging them for you prior to your arrival. All you have to do is email him. This hotel really makes the effort to ensure your needs are met. My rain boots had ripped, and one of the employees called her husband to drop off rubber cement (glue) to repair the rip. Worked like a charm. We weren't leaving until 17:00 for the airport. Reza provided a late check out, and allowed us to hang out in the room until we had to leave. I appreciate the private space he allowed. The breakfast is truly delicious, as was the coffee and dinner. One night, we had a pre-fix menu with appetizers, soup, bread, and the specialty dish cooked in a clay pot. They only charged 40 Lira, which felt like a bargain. They use local fresh ingredients, which you can taste in the food quality. Reza recommended the green tour, which I really enjoyed. He also helped to arrange airport transfers to/from the hotel. There were so many little things this hotel did to make sure we enjoyed our visit to Cappadocia. This place deserves all the high scores of 10 given by reviewers. Thank you Sakli Konak for making our trip truly delightful.

Review 51:Almost nothing.

Review 52:Almost everything. Specially the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks to Mr. Elias for his remarkable help in providing valuable tips and plan about the city. We have been given free upgrade upon arriving once he see that we might feel more comfort in bigger room. Honestly one of the best boutique hotels I stayed in.

Review 53:I have to admit there were no wardrobes/closets in my room. Who needs it anyway?

Review 54:Staff were helpful and polite. Food served were scrumptous - home cooked food everyday. Not that bland, hotel like food. Staff will organise all your needs from hotel transfers to your daily tours. Highly recommended. I will surely come back as i've missed my hot air balloon ride due to the weather condition.

Review 55:The owners of Sakli Konak are very friendly and helpful. Riza helped me with a personally-tailored plan for what to do and see in the region for my limited stay, and also arranged my hot-air balloon booking at a lower cost than most places advertise. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and the room was cozy and unique. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main bus stops that take you to Goreme and Nevsehir and is a quiet getaway from the busy tourist pockets. Highly recommended! I went solo, but it would be a great, romantic place for couples. =)

Review 56:Our dislikes are fairly trivial. Shortage of hooks to hank up clothes (which Riza is going to fix) and lack of a good reading light in our room.

Review 57:We loved the unique atmosphere of a small, restored "konak" (mansion) - it felt very Turkish - but most of all we really appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff, but especially Riza, the owner. His knowledge of the area added immeasurably to our enjoyment of fabulous Cappadocia.

Review 58:Absolutely nothing.

Review 59:You were looked after from the moment you walked in the door. Riza was so helpful, giving us an itineray and hand drawn map for our 4 day stay. He organised our balloon flight and scooter hire so we got a reasonable price and no dodgy operators. The guesthouse is such a relaxing oasis and Uchisar is so laid back compared to Goreme. We had the most wonderful time, mostly thanks to Riza and the wonderful meals his wife cooked. Everyone associated with the hotel wanted you to enjoy your stay.

Review 60:The owner, Riza, was very helpful. He helped us book a green tour and a balloon flight after a few phone calls with him in which he gave us all the information we need to know. I suppose you could find better deals on these tours on your own if you bargained hard enough with the local tour agencies, but he saved us all the hassles of shopping around under the scorching sun of Cappaodcia. We also rented a car for a self driving tour one day and Riza hand drew us a map that was more informative than any maps I found online beforehand.

Review 61:Family run.. Manager/owner will help you with anything from tours to feeding you at night.. Breakfast will set u up for the day.. Very Comfortable rooms.. No complaints at all..

Review 62:Room was a little dim - a brighter light for reading by would be good. Somewhere to hang some clothes would also be useful.

Review 63:Really friendly helpful host. Went out of his way to help us get on a balloon flight. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfasts are generous and delicious. In good location in Uchisar village.

Review 64:We like everything and strongly recommended for this hotel to other traveller. A big thank you for the map drew by the owner. We were able to go to all view points based on the map while our GPS not working well.

Review 65:From the moment we arrived Riza was there to ensure that our time in Cappadocia was perfect. From the delicious breakfasts every morning to helpful advice on places to go and eat, Riza and his wife were the perfect hosts. Make sure to have a meal at Sakli Konak as Riza's wife is an amazing cook! We will not hesitate to recommend this boutique hotel to anyone.

Review 66:The best hotel owner ever. His recommendations were the best ever. From the places to see to the places to eat. The breakfast was just divine. The best we had in Turkey by far.

Review 67:The owner was very friendly and helpful suggesting site-seeing ideas and even drawing maps. He also provided food and drinks to tired travelers and a wonderful breakfast!

Review 68:No shutter on the window, but we manage to have a very good sleep every night.

Review 69:The room : nice, cleaned every day, comfortable, quiet. The hôtel : well-located near the Castle, good breakfast, nice terrace. And the most important : the staff is very very friendly and helpful, you can't spend bad holidays with them

Review 70:It was very noisy in the early morning (8AM) and on the 3 nights we spent there, we didn't sleep well on the 2 first nights (given that the last night we woke up at 4AM). There were noisy guests (not the hotel's fault) but that did impact our stay at Sakli Konak. Also it was very hot in the room, there was only 1 little window for the whole room (none in the bathroom). I must admit that I didn't really understand the 9.7 average notation of the hotel.

Review 71:The location, the tips which the owner gave us, the breakfast

Review 72:We were really happy with our choice to stay in Sakli Konak. The location is convenient for touring the region, the hotel is renovated with care in the style of Cappadocia, super clean and quiet, tasteful breakfast typical Turkish with some twist. We were more than satisfied with our stay. Special reference to Riza, the owner, who was extremely helpful, willing to provide info and arrange things for us, always around to assist us with a smile. An excellent host for a place highly recommended.

Review 73:The owner Riza Isik makes you feel at home immediately and provides comprehensive background of the CAPPADOCIA region and specific tours and options. The breakfasts are nice classic Turkish cuisine in. Lovely setting. The rooms are well designed and match the cave theme of the region.

Review 74:Nothing. Stay if you want to get away from hotel chains and like to be close to locals

Review 75:The owner is trusting, a great conversationalist, and excellent guide.

Review 76:Perfect position, very nice place. Clean and comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Riza, the owner, speaks English fluently and he is always available for anything. I really recommend it.

Review 77:Because we went in august, the whole Cappadocia was crowded with somenoisy tourists.

Review 78:Mr Riza and Mrs Gokce were extremely nice. Breakfast is great. The hotelis located in Uçhisar, a small quiet village, which is perfect if youwish to escape to Goreme´s or Urgup´s movida.

Review 79:After traveling in Turkey for three weeks Riza and the hotel were AMAZING! Hands down the cleanest, nicest room we stayed in, with the most incredible breakfast. Seriously, this place is worth it just for the breakfast! Also Riza is an excellent host, he plans your entire stay and is an honest person to work with. We would never stay anywhere else in Cappadocia. The location is great - Uschair is about a 10 min bus ride above Goreme, which we enjoyed. The views are much better than down in the valley and the restaurants were not touristy, we ate with locals and had a more authentic experience. Any tour / ballon ride you take will pick you up from the hotel so the location was never an issue, we went to Goreme once and took the mini bus for 2 lira (1 USD). Wi fi was great, and so was dinner - make sure you eat at least one dinner cooked by Riza's wife - she could open a restaurant her food was so good!

Review 80:NOTHING

Review 81:The S. K. is very comfortable and convenient from all points of view; Riza, the owner, speaks English fluently, which is not always the case in Turkey and the breakfast is unforgettable!!! Try to believe!!!

Review 82:We really enjoyed our stay at Sakli Konak. In total we stayed 3 nights to visit Cappadocia. The owner of the hotel, Riza, made huge efforts to plan our trip with us. On the day of our arrival he sat down with us to introduce himself and the hotel and he drew a map of the region. With a few phone calls he booked our bus to Ankara, a taxi, the green tour,... We really appreciated this service, especially because we didn't have much time to visit the region. We had a beautiful room, actually we were very lucky: we booked a standard room, but got an upgrade. The rooms are beautifully decorated. In every aspect of the hotel you can see that the staff runs the hotel with love for the job. In the breakfast room/restaurant there is always a cake you can take a piece from :-) Thank you so much for making our stay so special, Riza & company!

Review 83:There was nothing we didn't like but it's worth mentioning that the hotel is located in the less touristy side of Uchissar (which is a small town anyway). However it is close walking distance to the castle and some shops. With a car it was a couple of mins drive to the more touristy part of town where there were some more high end restaurants.

Review 84:Riza was very welcoming and helpful from beginning to end. We had a car but not much of a plan when we arrived so Riza's advice and support were greatly appreciated. The hotel has a guest house feel and it was clear that our satisfaction was Riza's priority. The breakfast was delicious and our deluxe room was very spacious and as described. Great value for money and we had such a great time!

Review 85:beautiful rooms, good food, staff v helpful

Review 86:restaurant was closed on our arrival date, could not have dinner.

Review 87:best breakfast ever :)

Review 88:Very friendly staff, great food.

Review 89:Best part of stay was definitely the service of the staff, especially the owner!

Review 90:Everything. Staying at sakli konak is basically learning the meaning of hospitality.

Review 91:Loved the quiet and peaceful atmosphere

Review 92:Everything was excellent

Review 93:The entire stay was amazing! You can't beat the fresh breakfast and dinners.

Review 94:Service was incredible

Review 95:All stay was a pleasure for us :)

Review 96:Room was very small as per the picture .. Do write the area of room on booking.com

Review 97:Cooperation & Courtesy .. Good to stay with family..

Review 98:you can almost get everything you want in this place.

Review 99:Very helpful staff - Location not as touristy as Goreme.

Review 100:Breakfast

Review 101:Surely staff Breakfast Testi kebap Rooms
