Reviews for Acadia Inn
Review 1:Found bed bug, staff did apologize and changed the rooms we did our best to make sure no bed bugs in our new rooms but since we had bed bugs in our minds we were awake all night thus our next day was ruined, will never stay in this hotel.
Review 2:Location,
Review 3:The location is outside Bar Harbor and you need your car for the 5/10 minutes drive.
Review 4:Nice hotel, good staff and we slept very well.in clean and excellent beds. Breakfast simple and typical american for europeans!
Review 5:When we arrive staff was not that accommodating. We requested additional bed and she didn't even smile when delivering it.
Review 6:The location was very convenient to the bar harbor and to the Acadia national park. We wer not crazy with their breakfast but I like their free apple cider in the afternoon during fall season. Room was clean and spacious.
Review 7:I would strongly suggest they move the coffee pot and basket of cups, coffee, etc OUT OF THE BATHROOM. It really should not be in a bathroom. that is a health risk. there was plenty of room near ice bucket and refrigerator in living area. Also, it would be much more compfortable if the desk was removed and a 2nd chair was placed near the window,. this would allow 2 people to sit and enjoy the view and read/have coffee, etc
Review 8:really enjoyed the close proximity to Acadia National Park, as well as downtown Bar Harbor. also appreciated the variety of breakfast as well as snacks in afternoon and evening.
Review 9:Great location and pleasant setting. Interior spacious yet cozy. Breakfast was delicious and varied.Rooms clean and comfortable. Overall very pleasant stay.
Review 10:Love that you sent me a list of my spendings to agree to before charging my card! Loved the pool and hot tub. Loved the popcorn and board games in the main room at night. Best hotel I've stayed at yet.
Review 11:Although we enjoyed the included breakfast each morning, we wished there had been hard-boiled eggs available.
Review 12:The Acadia Inn is in a perfect location for visiting Acadia NP and all of Mt. Desert Island. The property was well-maintained, our room was larger than anticipated (which was a plus), and we were happy that they had laundry facilities available.
Review 13:In one of the two rooms the hallway light and a ceiling light in the bathroom did not work. We mentioned it at the front desk, but it was not fixed in the four days we stayed there. Also the toilet seat was loose and the bath tub was chipped.
Review 14:We were 6 people and booked two adjacent rooms. One room was perfect, but the other one is in need of some TLC. The size of the rooms and the beds were great. The breakfast was surprisingly good, when you just expect a continental breakfast. They had eggs and french toast and the coffee and tea bar stayed open 24h.
Review 15:Girl at the front desk said she lived her entire life in Bar Harbor and had never been to Adadia National Park. What???? Give this girl the afternoon off so she can educate herself and become enlightened about her surroundings! :)
Review 16:Proximity to Acadia National Park. Rooms were nice.
Review 17:We didn't like the fact that the secondary entrance is always either open or unlocked. No security there. One evening we saw somebody seating by the door (a guard? ) You should change the door and put one that requires electronic card-key to enter.
Review 18:The room was well equiped and comfortable , as well as the bathroom even though it had only one sink. The service was very good We had a pleasant 2 day stay..The extra towels and pillows we had asked for in advance, were in the room when we arrived, which was very good. It was great that the Island Explorer would pick us up at the hotel.
Review 19:The hotel is just outside the town of Bar Harbor but only a few minutes drive. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a coffee maker and a refrigerator and a substantial breakfast served in the lobby. We needed some business assistance-copying, computer printing, white out, etc. and the front desk personnel were very accommodating.
Review 20:Room was small and chairs at the table were very uncomfortable. The room needed a comfortable chair.
Review 21:The shuttle stopped here for trips into Bar Harbor. Room decor was good and beds were comfortable.
Review 22:Can't think of anything we didn't like!
Review 23:Loved everything--/the super friendly staff, the great location, the complimentary breakfast buffet, the amenities...this was a great find, and we hope to come back next year!
Review 24:We had to take our car in order to get to the center of town. Breakfast area was too crowded.
Review 25:Room, facilities and staff were very good. Breakfast was nice.
Review 26:Loved the delicious breakfasts! Loved that the beds were comfortable! Loved that there were so many "extras" that you just don't see in a motel/inn, and that our room was so beautifully decorated.
Review 27:We had a wonderful and friendly housekeeper (Inez) who kept our room spotless and was extremely courteous. The breakfasts were wonderful and the location was great for walking to Bar Harbor.
Review 28:The loction near Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor was perfect. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast went far beyond what many hotels offer. The Acadia Inn is well-priced in a very high-priced area.
Review 29:There was nothing that we did not like.
Review 30:It was a nice clean place to stay. Helpful staff. Although we did not take advantage of it, they did something every evening for families to enjoy.
Review 31:Hair dryer didn't have much power but wasn't a big deal.
Review 32:Staff was extremely helpful and room was immaculately clean. Great shower pressure! Also convenient to have shuttle bus pick up.
Review 33:The breakfast room was very small and congested. People had a hard time getting to the coffee and offerings and then had to go back to their rooms -- very few places to sit. The eggs were very strange and so was the sausage.
Review 34:The location is great. The free shuttle into town is great because there is very little parking anywhere in town. The room was very pleasant.
Review 35:Food was ok, yogurt should not be loose, packaged container much better. Breakfast area, so crowded.
Review 36:The Staff Staff made waffles that were excellent
Review 37:Nothing really, altho this type of property is not really our style. It is not an Inn in the small, intimate boutique-style. We were there in Aug, high season so it is pricey for what one gets.
Review 38:This is a motel-like property fairly conveniently located for Bar Harbor/Acadia park. There is a shuttle that we did not use.Breakfast is ok, mostly package things.but there is a variety to choose from. Probably more geared toward families; kids had taken over the pool.
Review 39:Hot tub wasn't working which was a bummer for our daughter. They did offer the use of the tub at their sister facility, but it was just enough of a nuisance that we didn't take advantage of it. Also, it would be nice if their little "store" sold beer and/or wine. It's just far enough away that if you wanted a cocktail, you'd have to drive or take the shuttle to town to get one.
Review 40:The free shuttle to town is the greatest..it's very difficult to park there. The shuttle was always on time and never over-crowded. My son's cell phone fell out of his pocket into the seat..our front desk called the shuttle people and it was returned within 45 minutes when that particular driver came back through. Also, the breakfast buffet was very good, always well-stocked and there was always enough seating. We stayed somewhere else with free buffet on our trip home and it was a mess, sloppy, nowhere to sit, food was picked-over, etc. Very family friendly.
Review 41:Staff excellent, very helpful, etc. Have stayed at the Acadia previously and look there first when traveling to Bar Harbor. Only thing was thought the computer for general use could be upgraded to current software configuration.
Review 42:The only thing that I did not like was the (dry)fried eggs on the buffet. Scrambled would have been the better choice.
Review 43:I was at the Acadia Inn for 5 days while my son and his girl friend camped at the National Park. It was such a convenient location. The front desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. My room and abath were very attractive. I asked for a room close to the dining room because of mobility issues. They accomodated. and offered the indoor pool at the sister hotel aceoss the street in case I preferred that one.
Review 44:The AC was a bit loud, but worked fine.
Review 45:The bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The bathroom was spotless and looked brand new. The free shuttle made it easy to get around.
Review 46:The staff was very helpful and all were very nice. No complaints! The room was very nice. Very comfortable for our week's stay. I really liked the shuttle to downtown, that way we parked the motorcycle for a week and had the bus take us. This was our first stay at Bar Harbor and we will be going back and staying at the Acadia Inn!!!!
Review 47:Clean and comfortable hotel with a very good location for exploring the park and Bar Harbor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our reservation thru Booking.com was cancelled in error but they found the same room type for us and honored Booking's price. I required medical attention during our stay and staff recommended and gave us a map to the Mount Desert Island Hospital (I wish there was a venue for hospital reviews--my experience there was excellent.)
Review 48:Free breakfast was ok. Could be a little better.
Review 49:The location of the inn was really great. Free shuttle bus into downtown Bar Harbor was a definite plus. The front desk employees really were knowledgeable and helpful on the area, activities, and Acadia Park. Rebecca was outstanding with her knowledge and recommendations for hiking the trails. She definitely was our go to girl!
Review 50:A few of the staff at the front desk were not familiar with their surroundings. couldn't direct us to the bike path beginning in their back lawn
Review 51:Great safe location, plenty of free parking & we could leave our bikes on the car overnight but they also had a bike rack
Review 52:No ocean view, trees in the way. A mile from downtown Bar Harbor, so not readily walkable.
Review 53:Friendly helpful staff. Bus to town. Nice room. Parking available. Close to Acadia National Park entrance.
Review 54:Casual atmosphere, comfortable facilities, and friendly staff. Location was perfect - great accessibility to Acadia National Park and convenient access to Bar Harbor.
Review 55:Some areas needed some updating. Breakfast area got really warm, but it was busy. I would have liked hot chocolate.
Review 56:Friendly staff, good location. I liked the size of the room and bathroom. I liked having coffee and tea available at all times.
Review 57:Quality of the hot portion of breakfast (omelettes & eggs) was poor. Cold options were decent though. Breakfast area & set up congested. Avoided it the second day and went out to eat instead.
Review 58:Friendly staff, convenient location, shuttle, quiet, generally relaxing atmosphere.
Review 59:Breakfast was lacking, we ate somewhere else.
Review 60:We choose this hotel for the location, it is close to Accadia Park and town, the location is perfect and it was so nice to have shuttle service provided to Bar Harbour. It was also nice to have access to the coffee/hot water bar all day.
Review 61:Great stay, comfy bed, spacious room, good buffet breakfast, water fountains, laundry room, free shuttle bus, pool and play area outdoors - our boys loved them!
Review 62:I was on the first floor, and I could here every step the person above me took. Whoever it was had very heavy feet and as up all hours of the night. Therefore so was I !!!!! Obviously there is little insulation between floors. Next stay I'll be on another floor....................
Review 63:Location was about a mile from downtown, good distance for walking...........
Review 64:I didn't like that I had to pay some fee separately of the booking before the check out. I think it could be better if it was included in the price all together. This is my only complain! Buy it anointed us..
Review 65:One small incident marred our otherwise very nice stay in this hotel, which was that our last morning there, we were woken before 7 am by a call regarding a plumbing disaster of leaking water in room below, which necessitated changing out a part in our toilet. However, the hotel did kindly recompense us for the inconvenience by deducting a meaningful amount from our total bill, which was appreciated. We also appreciated the free wi-fi in our room, although later at night, apparently because of heavy use, the Wi-Fi access would stop working.
Review 66:Very good location enhanced by the free shuttle to the Bar Harbor Village Green, for access to free shuttles into Acadia National Park. Walking path behind hotel into Acadia Park is also pleasant. The hotel itself was quite clean and comfortable, and we very much appreciated the very helpful and friendly staff who explained the shuttle system very clearly.
Review 67:Wifi is slow or difficult to get on but who cares with all the gorgeous scenery in this area.
Review 68:Bus picks you up at the door and takes you anywhere you want to go. You can park your car on day one and not use it again till you leave. Entrance to ANP is a hop skip and a jump. Room is super clean, staff is delightful and continental breakfast is better than average. The omelette a are surprisingly good!
Review 69:Spotty WIFI reception. Broken jacuzzi.
Review 70:Perfect jumping off point for Bar Harbor & Acadia w/ friendly front desk staff. Good biscuits & gravy.
Review 71:Upon preparing to leave in the morning - I checked under the bed to make sure that I didn't leave anything behind. To my surprise there were MANY items: crayons, toys, half eaten apple, etc. under the beds.Very evident that the sweeper had not been ran for quite some time!
Review 72:Location
Review 73:The old coffee was not disposed off from the coffee maker. No box of tissues in the bathroom or the room.
Review 74:Very close to the center of town, and one street over from the ocean if one wanted to walk down to the water. The facility was pleasant, clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Loved that the coffee was available 24 hours, and the breakfast was included.
Review 75:The breakfast could be improved--scrambled eggs instead of rubber fried eggs. Toilet seat loose.
Review 76:The facility was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Shuttle access was a plus.
Review 77:Not at all impressed with the breakfast experience. Food average. No personal service and so busy nowhere to sit for some time - hardly any space for a huge number of people. Very noisy air conditioner.
Review 78:Nice room.
Review 79:The room needs to be updated. There was small damaged parts that made me feel there was no attention to detail. The piece was high and might be because if it's location only.
Review 80:The pool and the staff were great.
Review 81:We didn't like the distance to bar harbor. It's an annoyingly far to walk on a busy street. We basically had no choice but to drive an deal with bar harbor parking.
Review 82:The facilities are good.
Review 83:Conditions of facility is aged, needs updating. The toilet in our room was cracked, I notified staff and they seemed unconcerned. Looks like it's been that way for a while. For a $200.00 night Hotel not what I was expecting! Location is good but the hotel needs some updating.
Review 84:Breakfast seating area was just a bit crowded; maybe think of expanding or reorganizing the traffic flow.
Review 85:Very impressed that we received a postcard after booking to thank us for choosing Acadia Inn. We love that we can walk to Bar Harbor village and are close to Acadia National Park. Breakfast was better than most included breakfasts. Towels were generous, and probably the best shower ever in a hotel for water pressure and hot water. Pool was good sized and had adequate seating. Plenty of parking even on a holiday weekend. Games provided in the common area on a rainy day was a fun touch.
Review 86:At the busy times the flow of traffic around the breakfast island was crowded. Free wifi was slow and spotty.
Review 87:Breakfast hours and choices were good. Friendly staff and fresh baked cookies.
Review 88:Not really a big deal, but it was a bummer that the pool was closed. We were able to swim at the nearby sister properties, which saved the day for my kids!
Review 89:The staff was not able to verify if the pre-packaged syrup was Glutin Free, so they gave my son a small bottle of Maple syrup from the gift shop at no charge. Super nice, and made his day!
Review 90:It was raining so many people had to stay in the hotel and therefore Iiternet was disconnected every now and then due to high volume of data I was crazy about the breakfast either
Review 91:Hotel crew were very nice and helpful We have coffee and tea and free snack available the whole day.
Review 92:The breakfast was not good at all. No meat products were offered. Real eggs would have been nice or pancakes or waffles. It was so crowded, there was no where to sit and eat, had to go back to our room.
Review 93:Comfortable, clean and friendly hotel. Easy to get in and out of.
Review 94:The staff was very friendly, breakfast was great, the rooms are very cozy and location is also very nice. The Inn is very clean and has great amenities.
Review 95:What they stated as price on booking.com was different from what they charged. Booking.com did not help with the situation either even though they saw the price difference
Review 96:Lots of little touches made this stay a good one. Having a heater in the bathroom was terrific, and well as having in room coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable. Room was quiet.
Review 97:the staff and property were amazing. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with anything we needed. The property was very clean and well-maintained. Nice selection for hot/cold continental breakfast.
Review 98:We stayed at the Acadia Inn while participating in the Acadia Birding Festival. The location was perfect, close to the events and leisuer time in Bar Harbor. Breakfast was a step above the usual continental fare.
Review 99:The hotel wasn't as nice as the pictures. The breakfast was not fitting the quality the hotel markets itself in. General look and feel is barely mediocre.
Review 100:location was convenient but no water view etc
Review 101:Replace the hair dryer with a more normal product. That square discharge dryer was next to useless.
Review 102:Convenient location, quiet, clean, and a very courteous staff.
Review 103:No real Ocean or coastal view.
Review 104:Front Desk was very knowledgeable about the area. Recommended a place to eat dinner and gave directions. Good Breakfast. Near Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Review 105:Had a few problems with the door locks. Had to reprogram the card twice. Coffee could be better. High def TV signal would be nice. Otherwise, You exceeded my expectations.
Review 106:the location of the hotel is convenient, just a few minutes drive to Bar Harbor where you can find nice restaurants, good access to Acadia national park. Friendly stuff.
Review 107:On the last morning of our stay, the maid service was in the hallway cleaning the rooms. It was about 8-9 in the morning and it kept waking us up.
Review 108:The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed help or had a question.
Review 109:The hotel was practically empty yet they put us under a room where people were staying, so every time they got up at 1am or 3am it woke us up. (Side door doesn't require key to open, which is strange.) Breakfast could have been better but at least there was something.
Review 110:Loved the swing set and box of activities in the back yard. My boys loved it (ages 4 and 6). Wifi was great, mattress was eh but fine for a couple days.
Review 111:No gym on premises.... Poor security at sister resort when I went to use the "gym/fitness center". That facility was outdated with rugs in poor condition. Air quality in "gym" was awful- diesel smell. Small, stuffy little room. No weights or machines.
Review 112:Friendly staff. Early breakfast! Snacks and drinks available most always. Daily special events. Excellent location next to town and national park.
Review 113:The breakfast was a let down. There was no scrambled egg or ommelet. Only hard boiled eggs that are really tasteless. Didnt feel fresh at all. The cereals selection was good but there was no waffle maker. Only premade waffles that taste and felt like cardboard! If the breakfast had been better, this could hv been the perfect place to stay.
Review 114:It was an almost perfect stay. Great bed plush pillows, good amenities like ironing board, safe, dining table for 2 in the room and big toilet. The afternoon hot apple cider and tea biscuits and soup was a nice touch. Location is fantastic! Great value for money!
Review 115:Staff was wonderful and friendly and the hotel is equidistant to Acadia and Bar Harbor (less than a mile). The hot apple cider they offer for free was a nice touch.
Review 116:Way overpriced compared to other similar hotels we stayed at. Breakfast choice limited as toaster was not working.
Review 117:Clean, modern hotel. Large rooms. Lift.
Review 118:By far the poorest breakfast we experienced during our two weeks touring round New England.
Review 119:Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Lots of parking. Nice outdoor heated pool/pool area.
Review 120:Dead bolt on door to room wasn't working properly and we reported it and they said they'd take care of it.
Review 121:Located a mile from Acadia Park and Bar Harbor. The room was warm and comfortable and clean. The hot water was quick and the bathroom was neat and clean and warm. The exterior is very well kept up and the Inn is located close to the road.
Review 122:It was a little far from downtown Bar Harbor, but not so far as to interfere with our activities.
Review 123:The Acadia Inn was a very pleasant place to stay. It is clean, cheerful, and the breakfasts are very good. I would stay here again.
Review 124:1. decor needed updating- felt like we were in a nursing home 2. internet not reliable 3. coffee not very good 4. beds rather hard
Review 125:1. easy access 2. pleasant, helpful staff 3. nice toiletries
Review 126:Breakfast was plentiful but didnt offer many fresh, healthy alternatives.
Review 127:The hotel room was spacious and comfortable although the bathroom was starting to look a little dated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus was a good idea for those who could not walk into town.
