Reviews for Park Hotel Hot Springs

Review 1:The decor was extremely cheap and outdated. The thing I disliked most was that there were 4 windows in the room and they had no curtains. The room was very bright during the early mornings and at night from the street lights

Review 2:The location is great, the room was clean and staff was friendly

Review 3:That said, the sort of European simplicity of the place would feel more charming if it were about $15 less expensive. No microwave or fridge, phone or pay channels, wifi very weak.

Review 4:Felt like going back in time! Nice simple place, comfortable but not updating what doesn't need to be updated. Staff was nice and waited up for us when we came in very late.

Review 5:Old style hotel tucked away in quiet street just a 2 minute walk to the main visiting area. Enjoyed walking in the evening and early morning in the neighbouring park.

Review 6:The rooms look like they haven't been updated in half a century! The oldness wasn't nearly as quaint as in the lobby. The room had character, but could have used some work. If I were responsible for this beautiful old hotel, I'd put some cleaner finishes on these rooms which have such potential. I was disappointed. I expected the rooms to match the lobby.

Review 7:The view from my room at this hotel was across the street from Hot Springs National Park. The lobby was old world and quaint.

Review 8:The hotel is very old, but it had an old charm to it. The shower and bathroom were a bit irritating, but if its not on top of your priority list, its a great hotel for your money

Review 9:Location was great

Review 10:The bed was awful. I didn't sleep very well at all.

Review 11:I loved the location and the historic value of the hotel. The staff was friendly and I felt at home there. I would go back!

Review 12:The bed was old and lumpy.

Review 13:I loved the lobby abd resturant. It felt like the grand days of old. The location was excellent, a crossed from Hot Springs National Park.

Review 14:The lobby is beautiful. The room was exactly like the picture...very quaint. I felt like I had stepped back in time! Was a little difficult for my husband and I to sleep on a full size bed, but brought back memories of being at grandma's house! Wonderful experience!

Review 15:High price for little value, old rooms, drapes had more than 50 holes that let in light so awakened earlier than I wanted to be, seven dollars added to bill for no discernable reason ( explanation: all hotels do this here) Limited hot water in shower. Only one electrical outlet accessible that worked in room, the one next to the floor across from the bed. Could not charge phone from outlets in the small cramped bathroom. Needs a complete overhawl but would start with the curtains and electrical outlets.

Review 16:Good location and staff.

Review 17:The Park Hotel is a quaint old hotel. The staff was very nice, and I heard the restaurant is very good; however, I did not get to eat there. I was comfortable.

Review 18:Clearly the owners are not vested in improving the property. What a shame. I do not expect perfect but a good vacuum at the wall edges now and then would be nice. Pillows that were rocks. An AC unit that was dying.

Review 19:For a romantic walk at night or into the hills it was great. The place was quite and could not hear the neighbors.

Review 20:This is one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. In our first room, the A/C barely worked, the bed was ridiculously uncomfortable, the curtains were pieces of fabric held down by thumb tacks, there was no WiFi, and many of the TV channels didn't work. We asked that our booking for our second night be canceled, but the hotel refused. They instead put us in a new room that did have WiFi and a functioning tv. However it was next to a room with smokers (the hotel does not mention that all rooms are smoking), there was no control over the temperature, no screens on the window, and the bed was only slightly more comfortable than the previous night. We left for a new hotel even though it meant paying for 2 hotels. Avoid this dump!

Review 21:The only decent aspect of this hotel was its proximity to the national park.

Review 22:No Internet in rooms. They say that they're adding modems to fix it. Window unit AC old and too small to cool room adequately in the heat of a Hot Spring's summer. The Civil War shop with all the confederate flags needs to GO.

Review 23:Vintage building, interesting.

Review 24:I chose the Park Hotel because it looked interesting with character. It was PERFECT for my needs. Exactly what I asked for. I am thrifty when it comes to hotel/motels. Don't need all those luxury items. Good value for the price. Walking distance (lovely promenade) to the Convention Center and Arena. I would stay there again.

Review 25:The restaurant and bar was closed on Monday. Unfortunately were only there for the one night.

Review 26:Service was extremely nice and helpful. Very friendly staff. Hotel is an old hotel very cool.

Review 27:Great Historic Hotel with a terrible smell in the renovated rooms and no ac in the historic rooms. We love small hotels but this was something where Norman Bates would have a field day!

Review 28:The location and rate were pretty amazing for the area, but it is a very uncomfortable bed in a very tiny

Review 29:Parking was very limited. I wish the room had the same old world charm as the lobby. The bed was not comfortable. There were no clothes hangers available in closet.

Review 30:The staff is super friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful. The soaker tub was awesome. TV reception and channels available was great.

Review 31:There was very little to like here. It was one step up from camping. The room was awful. The tv did not work. The WiFi did not work. The window AC was very loud. The bed only had a bedspread. My husband went down to the loby and asked for a blanket which was so course it could have come from the civil war. The restaurant was no better. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for our food we left without eating. we were scheduled to stay longer but we left the next morning and found another place to stay. We will never stay here again.

Review 32:The civil war museum was nice.

Review 33:Nothing really terrible but the bathroom was a bit inconvenient (no vanity or robe hooks) and the sink was partially clogged.

Review 34:The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location enabled us to leave the car parked and walk to the bathhouses and shopping.

Review 35:Centrally located right across the street for great trails free mountain drinking spring water down the street. Down town right there. A quick drive to other parks and lakes in the area.. Over all great for the money. Very friendly staff. Hotel parking right next to hotel.

Review 36:left side of matress was sagging the air condition went off at 6:30 am and never came back on had to open door to get cool air from hall way. Hotel was name "Angle something" and not the" Park Hotel Hot Springs" report the air condition to front desk only reply was "properly reach temp"

Review 37:the room was clean bed clean bath room clean

Review 38:Beds were out dated...furniture was outdated...no cieling fans and no ability to control room temperature..did have a smell..

Review 39:Was clean...like the original look to era it was built..and location..

Review 40:After booking online, I called to verify the reservation and to confirm total charges as I had planned a budget. The lady I spoke with gave me the total for the 2 nights stay. Upon check in it was about twenty dollars more Han I was told on the phone. I was told they would attempt to correct it and credit back to my card. It has been 4 days now and haven't seen anything.

Review 41:This was a beautiful place rich with history.

Review 42:Most people might miss not having a phone in the room or a large breakfast selection, or thermostat control. Our room was on the back addition, so we had our own window unit, but not all rooms do.

Review 43:If looking to stay in a historic place, this fits the bill. Don't expect a new room full of modern conveniences, but it was clean and comfy with a nice location near the beautiful Grand Promenade and the Happy Hollow cold spring.

Review 44:It would have been nice if the bed and linens were updated. We ate at Angels in the Park located in the hotel. The food was ok. Our waiter was friendly but he was slow and unprofessional.

Review 45:We loved the location of the hotel and everyone was very friendly. It was clean and our room was small yet comfortable and served its purpose well.

Review 46:Too noisy, too many smokers, no coffee in room, no breakfast available, bare room, shower head too high, slow hot water, thin towels.

Review 47:Staff was friendly and helpful

Review 48:The walks are paper thin! Got woke up at midnight from the neighbors until 2 am! You could hear every single motorcycle that was within 2 miles of this place. The a/c was not cold at all. Not the mention the waitress in the Resturant complained about how slow it was the night before and made very little money.

Review 49:The history was amazing

Review 50:The beds were hard, the climate controls did not work right, the hot water was lacking and the wifi was sketchy. Definitely not the best place for a family with small kids who use wifi devices

Review 51:The best two things I can say about this place is that the staff was helpful and friendly and it is a neat old building. The beds were terrible, the climate controls were not the best, the hot water was lacking and the wifi was scetchy. It is definitely not the best accommodation for a family with small kids who use wifi devices.

Review 52:OUT OF DATE...NEEDS A SERIOUS UPDATE

Review 53:Quick and available

Review 54:Needs a bit of sprucing up and more liveliness.

Review 55:Great location. Free parking. Historic setting.

Review 56:Nothing I didn't like!

Review 57:The staff were all amazing and friendly. The place was so clean! Definitely will be coming back.

Review 58:Great staff, great location, great parking, and great convenience.

Review 59:Door key did not work...and I would have preferred to not have anyone come in my room when I was there.

Review 60:Very convenient location.

Review 61:Quaint. Historic hotel. Excellent location: close to Spas. Across from Hot Springs National park

Review 62:Historic feel of the hotel and surroundings. Angels Restaurant very good; romantic old world decor.

Review 63:I think the towels could be updated and I would have liked a bigger TV.

Review 64:No pool

Review 65:Location

Review 66:The location was awesome. The lobby and interior were beautiful.

Review 67:Threadbare room - no fridge, phone, or WiFi. Window wells had critters. Just a place to sleep, not a place to stay.

Review 68:Friendly staff. Historic.

Review 69:They stated they were working on internet, but there wasn't any at all. There was no phone in room.

Review 70:It was in the park.

Review 71:I could hear the man snoring next door

Review 72:No A/C

Review 73:Very private. In the walking district downtown. Very convenient.

Review 74:The old world feel is what I wanted and that is what I got. Very happy, staff was friendly and gave good advice.

Review 75:Close to downtown history.

Review 76:Nothing

Review 77:People were super friendly and accomidations nice!

Review 78:Very reasonable for the price. Everywhere we wanted to go was within easy walking distance. It was a very nice New Year's Eve getaway.

Review 79:Lady bugs - more than just a couple of them in my room.

Review 80:Being close to the park.

Review 81:This is a very cool place to stay

Review 82:The AC wasn't working good when we first got there but the clerk gave us a fan & it was fixed the next morn

Review 83:It just seemed cozy there

Review 84:price comfy bed nice people charming building

Review 85:Nothing.

Review 86:Location, location, location best describes this hotel, along with Art Deco. I would walk right outside the front door & catch the Grand Promenade across the street. I stayed in 4 hotels on my trip, and the irony is that the Park Hotel, being the oldest by far, had the coldest air conditioning! I would stay here again & recommend it to my friends.

Review 87:walls are paper thin. It was like the folks in the rooms next to us were in the same room with us. You could hear everything!

Review 88:Walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and bars and Bath Houses. Nice park close.

Review 89:A/c had been turned off in the building when we arrived. Front desk personnel told us owner had told them to do so. No offers of discount or refund to find another hotel. Charged the credit card and closed it out as we checked in. Very unimpressed with staff and facility in general. Found hair in jacuzzi. Coverlet on table in jacuzzi room was wet. We moved it off wood dresser. Coverlet was so full of dust the table had mud on it. Will not go back to the hotel.

Review 90:no curtains on windows, bath room 4x4 size, smelled old and musty, we paid for room and checked into another hotel, and our friends did the same thing

Review 91:not one thing did we like ,

Review 92:Room was small. Reserved a queen got a double. Mattress was uncomfortable and bed was squeaky. Bathroom was very small.

Review 93:Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 94:Started on the 3rd floor and the room was very small and sort of shabby. I think some sprucing up, a little paint and furniture repair is needed. Bathroom was extremely small, shower too small. Moved to a room on the 5th floor and it was much larger and the furniture was in better shape. Bathroom was still small but bigger than on the 3rd floor. Also windows needed drapes - couldn't sleep in with the sun lighting up the whole room.

Review 95:The main floor lobby and restaurant were lovely with lots of atmosphere. Staff were professional and very nice. Food was great in the restaurant. Loved the view of the park. The location was extremely convenient to the main street through town. This hotel is very old and so there is no pool, exercise room, computer room, etc, so don't expect that. Overall we enjoyed it very much. Nice with tons of character and good location.

Review 96:This Hotel needs to be shut down by the state it is un clean and dirty. I dont know how anyone would want to stay there. It had a bad odor and musk smell and we walked in and looked at our room walked back down to talk to the manager and she would not give us our money back im filing a dispute with my credit card and contacting the BBB to let them know of this hotel.

Review 97:The location is fine.

Review 98:EXTREMELY small shower, very uncomfortable bed, very old furnishings and bed spread.

Review 99:very friendly, nostalgic with an excellent restaurant within walking distance of Hot Springs attractions.

Review 100:They allow pets. People next to us had dogs and they left those dogsunattended so they began barking at 6:30, so we just got up at 6:45 andleft. Then the girl at the front desk charged my debit card twice andclaimed their research showed one charge. The rooms are small. Therewere curly hairs all in the shower. You have to pay extra for a roomwith a shower and it is ridiculously small. I will pay the extra andstay at The Arrlington next time.

Review 101:It's close to bath houses and shops.

Review 102:Rooms need to be updated badly. The carpet is threadbare, walls need painting. There was a ladybug stalking me all night. I like a firm bed but others might not. Overall the room is very stark. The first night I was there I didn't hear anyone else but that's because there was no one else there. The second night people arrived for the races and you could clearly hear them as they moved about and the flush of the toilet. The hotel's Wifi didn't work the first night I was there but I was able to connect to the Arlington's so all was good. You have to go to the front desk if you want ice. They also controlled the heat in my room. I had to call a couple times to have it turned off (they were very happy to accommodate me). The Booking.com rate didn't include local/toursim taxes which tacked on an additional $20+ per night.

Review 103:The Park Hotel is easy to find and a block away from the main street through downtown Hot Springs. It had beautiful architectural elements providing a wonderfully moody atmosphere. My favorite part of this stay was the bath and shower I took. They had an old cast iron tub that was deep enough for a long soak. As a tall person I appreciate being able to stretch my legs out in the tub. The water pressure was fantastic and the water had to come from the springs. I don't remember ever feeling as clean or refreshed after a soak!! Housekeeping staff were friendly and quick. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodated my requests for ice and to control the room temperature. It is a pet friendly hotel even though I didn't have my dog with me they should get major kudos!

Review 104:Small room, bathtub had just hole for drain no stopper, shower head justpipe coming out wall, 19" tv olds school style with cable run downwall, wireless effective only in lobby, bugs in room. Bed miserable.

Review 105:Close to park

Review 106:The I could not locate an ice machine. And that the vending machine wasout of order. Other than that it was a nice place to stay

Review 107:The history behind the hotel.

Review 108:I don't have anything negative to say about Park Hotel. I loved it.

Review 109:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and quiet. It is set in the perfect location.

Review 110:They didn't use fitted sheets on the mattresses and they didn't stay on. WiFi was awful in our room. Found out if that's important be sure to ask for a room with a good connection.

Review 111:The hotel was quite charming with lots of character. The room was small but very clean. It was so close to all the shops and right across the street from The Grand Promenade, which was perfect since we had our dog with us. It made for a beautiful morning and evening walk. Everyone there was friendly and helpful.

Review 112:Bed was very uncomfortable and noisy. The faucets dripped all night and was able to hear a dog barking in a room nearby all night. It was a very unpleasant stay.

Review 113:The Park Hotel is classic! I love the architecture and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again and loved being able to walk to all the downtown features, including bath house row.

Review 114:No air conditioning. Heat provided by portable ceramic space heater. Bar only open from 5:00pm to 11:00pm.

Review 115:The friendly, accomodating staff. The cleanliness of the entire hotel. The convenient location. The view of the park from our rooms. Complemtary coffee and crumb cake in the lobby each morning.

Review 116:I dsnt like the fact that they charge an ewctriciry fee and charge your card the night before you arrive.

Review 117:The rooms were a little sparse but all in all it was a decent price, clean, wonderful location. I would stay there again.

Review 118:it is an old hotel but could use some updating in areas that would make it more comfortable ..maybe some sliding doors in the bathroom, Showerheads, etc

Review 119:the location is awesome..the hotel has its different flair about it. didnt get to try the italian rest in the lobby. looked nice and the decor is unique

Review 120:No curtains...no room service. Man mn

Review 121:Could use some updating. The mattress was a little meh and it got hot in the room.

Review 122:Love the hotel, the location and the history.

Review 123:The rooms need to be updated and beds are waay too small for 2 people.

Review 124:Location was great , price was awesome, staff was outstanding!

Review 125:the rooms and hotel are so old and run down its crazy aweful.

Review 126:the staff was nice and helpful.

Review 127:Ventilation/noise Feet were black from walking on the floor

Review 128:Historic
