Reviews for First Hotel Reisen
Review 1:- Woken at 6 am by probably a dustcart in the side road - we had to ask for the weak (35 W) bulbs on the reading lamps to be changed
Review 2:- location - very good breakfast
Review 3:We enjoyed our room/hotel, our only complaint was no shower curtainon the bath/shower combo....hard to shower without getting bathroomwet! The shower curtain was gone with no replacements available perreception.
Review 4:Historic hotel located on the water in Gamla Stan. Our upstairsroom was quiet, the room/bathroom were very clean, bed wascomfortable, breakfast & breakfast room were very nice.Helpful staff @ reception, good access to buses/ferries, manynice shops/restaurants & historic landmarks within easywalking distance.
Review 5:Hotell needs renovering and bigger Roms!old floors, dark everywhere!breackfast personal not service minded
Review 6:Personal tried to help us with our issues with rum being so small and dark
Review 7:The location next to the sea in the stunning old part of the city is excellent. It is also a good starting point for walking to other interesting sites in all partys of the city. The concierge service is also very good and energetic. We laso love the ungrading of an old building.
Review 8:A muck up with our room as stated in booking but this was fixed to our satisfaction.
Review 9:The location was excellent and surprisingly quiet. Staff at front desk very helpful especially Kim and johann. Breakfast great
Review 10:Failure to provide clean pillow case and clean mugs. Remedied eventually.
Review 11:Excellent location (2nd time there); very helpful staff and good breakfast buffet.
Review 12:We were very lucky to be served at reception by MP, who went out of her way to help us in every way - exceptional, and most appreciated. That breakfast pack was perfect for our very early start!
Review 13:Decor a bit tired.
Review 14:Great location with wonderful view from the room. Close to all the old city attractions and restaurants. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. Pleasant helpful staff.
Review 15:- Very noisy early morning (lorries coming and going along side alleys) - Rooms very hot with no air conditioning - Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room
Review 16:- Amazing breakfasts! - Friendly, helpful staff - Centrally located
Review 17:We had to take our own baggage to be stored in the baggage room. There wasn't a safe in the room, valuables had to be stored at the reception and there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 18:The view from the room was amazing. The location of the hotel was very good as it was in Gamla Stan, very near to the Royal Palace and near to lots of restaurants and interesting shops.
Review 19:The restaurant staff could of been better.
Review 20:The location is great. Right in the heart of old town. The room was large and comfortable. We had a sauna in the bathroom. The front desk staff was very helpful.
Review 21:One day - no cleeaning at all. And other days only 2 set of towels (We stayed 3 persons)
Review 22:Nice hotel with a good location and view. Very helpful with rebooking.
Review 23:A deluxe room is vital. Our first standard room looked out on an office building about 15 feet away where the people worked all night. We could not open our draperies. Plus the room was small. The staff was very helpful and upgraded us to a deluxe room (with a reasonable price upgrade). The new room was beautiful. We had a problem with a party inside the hotel one night. The staff was great again and made a fair price adjustment for the inconvenience.
Review 24:Gracious staff, comfortable hotel. Nicely decorated, very good restaurant: we ate in the hotel for three nights because the weather was rainy. We would recommend it for hotel guests. (Especially appreciated Roger Carlsson the maitre d'hotel/waiter/man of all awareness for what customers need.) We actually loved the hotel and would go there again as our first choice for Gamla Stan.
Review 25:Magnetic card-operated door locks were a pain. Hit and miss whether you could get in.
Review 26:Great location. Great breakfast . Very friendly and helpful staff, especially at reception desk. Great restaurant food, but expensive, although not much higher than elsewhere .
Review 27:Old town is always pricey. Parking charges are high but guess this is normal in Stockholm.
Review 28:Location is great. Next to the palace. Access to many great restaurants and shops. Breakfast is fantastic. You can imagine all you need are served.
Review 29:The window was small and on the side of the wall, the front wall was on the angle, so it takes a lot of space from the room
Review 30:Great location, Good breakfast and very attentive staff
Review 31:Expensive drinks
Review 32:The location was excellent for a winter stay. It was easy to walk to many of the museums and restaurants. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the wide assortment of breakfast foods. The bar area was nice though drink prices were expensive. Most notable was the friendly Front Desk staff.
Review 33:Location is good for all parts of the central city and with local places to eat all around very convenient. The hotel has a real warm feeling with a separate lounge area with real open fire and large chairs.
Review 34:Limited gym equipment. Lack of a sitting room. Some noise from the delivery trucks in the morning - perhaps inevitable. Lighting in the room was a little dim.
Review 35:Comfortable bed (we slept well), good temperature aircon, substantial breakfast, reasonable size room. Location is excellent. Good taxi link to Arlanda. Dressing gowns good after we asked for them to be provided. Nice size tv.
Review 36:The room is very very small and out dated. We paid more to have a superior room with sea view. We were so shocked of the room condition and the lack of furniture in the room. It had only one small chair at the corner of the room and no desk to put things on.
Review 37:We liked the location of the hotel the best and the breakfast buffet. The hotel is in the middle of all the places you want to visit in the old town.
Review 38:Had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous hotel. The location was perfect and the staff were friendly and attentive. We looked forward to our breakfasts which were so full of choice. I don't eat gluten and there were fantastic gluten free options.
Review 39:The bathroom was a bit small.
Review 40:Great geographical location in the heart of the Old City, wonderful sea-front view, friendly staff, pleasant wellness area (sauna and cold pool) in the basement to relax after a long day outdoor, and very good Swedish breakfast.
Review 41:Who uses a bath-tub these days? Some of the reception-staff less than pleasant. The hot-food at breakfast could have varied every few days, but otherwise excellent
Review 42:Perfect location on edge of beautiful old-town & close to lots of restaurants, Tram-stop 100m away, excellent breakfast, great sauna & plunge-pool, adequate wi-fi throughout, lovely view across the road to water and islands, lovely old building, fully refurbished & modern
Review 43:I loved being able to walk to everything; restaurants in Gamla Stan, the ferry to the Vassa and to the archipelligo, to City Hall and the ferry to the palace. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and with solving a wrongly blocked Master Card issue. I would recommend staying here.
Review 44:WLAN rather inconsistent and weak sometimes. No blinds or shutters on windows; curtains do not close seamlessly. Main light switches remained invisible for me right to the end of my stay... Breakfast an organisational chaos on my first morning. Waiter could not get me a clean table, plate, and cutlery for 15 minutes. Had to organise them myself.
Review 45:The hotel is situated on the same island as Stockholm's Old Town and the Royal Palace. You won't get any closer to the historical heart of the city than this. Great stylish furnishings in public areas. My room was extremely comfortable, spacious, and furnished with taste. Very comfortable bed. Special treat in my room: private mini-sauna next to the bathroom!! Breakfast very tasty with natural and some home-made products (real orange juice, undiluted, excellent scrambled eggs).
Review 46:Room on the small side but considering the tariff & also comparable hotel rooms in a Sweden still very acceptable
Review 47:Friendly very helpful staff, excellent location, excellent breakfast
Review 48:We chose this hotel for two main things : the situation and the spa. Finally the spa is just a joke (pool at 15 degrees, no direct access with the lift). Another thing if you travel with a baby/ small child YOU MUST AVOID THIS HOTEL for several reasons : - Rooms with fensters at 20 cm from the ground, and as there is no air conditioning you need to open these, but unfortunately there is no safety (direct access to the street without any barrier or protections) - When we arrived around midnight no baby bed was settled although we specified that per internet and directly to the guy of the lobby (and of course no towels, no kettle...) - For the restaurant they finally bought a baby chair on the second day of our stay because they had just one broken! So our first breakfast was complicated to manage... On top of it, they proposed us a table behind the library in a dark room, which was quite far from the breakfast room. On our second day, they made the same suggestion, although they had a lot of place in the front room... We refused it! - On Sunday they forgot to clean up our room! We had to demand it at 4pm!
Review 49:Breakfast and very central situation Great hotel for couples without kids or businessmen
Review 50:The room clearly lack daylight, and the comfort was ok but not great
Review 51:Breakfast is great (so far, the best one I had in Stockholm) and the staff was really helpful
Review 52:It was unfortunate that we only had a view of next door's wall, but maybe it was because we stayed at the reasonably priced room. Breakfast was tasty, but very crowded. Our plate was removed when we came back from the second-plate.
Review 53:Waterfront, very close to the palace, great location!!
Review 54:This was a beautiful hotel and in a great location. It was so comfortable and the staff was excellent. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and the interior decorations. I would definitely recomment this hotel to my friends.
Review 55:the location next to old town perfect for walking and sightseeing after meetings / breakfast with lot of healthy choices / staff friendly / nice view from room over water
Review 56:Room a bit on the small side but clean, starting to look a bit tired but bed very comfortable and slept really well every night.
Review 57:Check in and out was friendly and very easy. Brilliant location for old town, bars, restaurants and boat trips. Would stay here again.
Review 58:1) Since most international flights arrive in the a.m., the hotel should have better facilities for people who can't yet get into their rooms 2) The only place to change clothes and freshen up was a small bathroom off the lobby, and there was a smell of sewer gas there.
Review 59:Breakfast, helpfulness of Alonzo at the front desk (can't remember last name), quiet room with balcony, but - above all - location.
Review 60:Lack of airconditioning & the room we had didn't qualify at 4 star although an upgrade was offerred for a price!
Review 61:Staff we very obliging and the location was very good.
Review 62:No air conditioning--although it was very chilly (55-60) and we didn't need it. It wouldn't have been good if the weather was summery. Also, the lighting in the living room was poor for reading. (the bedside lights were excellent and bright.) The original room we booked, in the Executive category I think, was very small. Some of the furniture could use updating. Overall, these are minor issues--except for maybe the a/c.
Review 63:We stayed at the First Hotel Reisen for three nights in June after a Baltic cruise. The location in Gamla Stan is wonderful, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and the Royal Palace. When we arrived at 10 am, our room was ready--a welcome surprise!--and we were offered an upgrade to a suite for a nominal amount more. After checking both options, we took the suite. There was a mix up because it wasn't available for all of our nights, so we were immediately switched to another suite--not quite as nice but wonderful to have the extra rooms (we used the dining room for suitcases!). The staff was most apologetic for the inconvenience. Because this is an old hotel, the antique furnishings are a bit worn but pleasant, and overall the room was very comfortable. Breakfasts are fantastic here, a huge buffet, with elegant displays. The front desk staff was very helpful and provided pretty good advice on what to see and how to plan our time. The bar was great, and we enjoyed chatting with Linus the bartender who makes very creative cocktails.
Review 64:Second floor room on harbour side somewhat noisy from traffic.
Review 65:Ideal location with access to city functions while backing onto the old town (Gamla Stan). Great breakfast buffet, good service, helpful staff. Room well equipped and comfortable.
Review 66:Initially put in a very small room with no view. Argued for a better room on the front of the building which was excellent
Review 67:Great location in the Old Town
Review 68:We loved being able to open our window and look out over the water. Everything was within walking distance - the palace, Old Town, the ferries, the train station and downtown. The staff spoke English well and patiently answered all of our questions.
Review 69:Bar shut in afternnon when we wanted a cup of tea....
