Reviews for Juniper Springs Resort

Review 1:I really didn't feel as if the staff was that friendly. its a very busy time of the year and staff especially the front desk should be prepared for alot of people, instead the front desk just always seemed annoyed when you went to the front desk.

Review 2:i loved the slopeside stay. It was the highlight of our ski trip.

Review 3:The hotel shuttle to the village doesn't work as expected. We waited for more than half an hour and the shuttle didn't arrive

Review 4:Very close to the slopes. Super convenient locker to store skis.

Review 5:I don't know why they charged me more money after the the checkout date?. The price really expensive, you can find best service with less price with other hotels.

Review 6:There was only one staff who was not friendly and accommodating, other than that, will definitely go back.

Review 7:I love the free shuttle service, fast and convenient. I also love the kitchen, I can enjoy breafast and dinner in the comfort of our room eith a nice view. The indoor garage is also important during winter.

Review 8:It was not very clean. I am a bit allergie to dust but felt like I could not breath Inside bevaar clearly the furnishings hadn't been cleaned for a while. I believe it was a nice hotel when it opened but down it is rather run down.

Review 9:The location was good. The indoor parking was good.

Review 10:Very nice rooms, only stayed there for 1 night so I didn't have time to use all their facilities. But the room was very well equipped and we loved the gas fireplace, kept us warm all night long.

Review 11:Booking.com quoted a total price that wasn't the total price. Extra charges were taken on check in even though Booking.com state total price was paid.

Review 12:Bed was really comfortable. Room was spacious and had everything we needed.

Review 13:Rooms need updating - Not like the pictures on line - Room had a bit of a musty smell - fireplace was not working.

Review 14:Lovely Hearthroom/Lobby area in the Sunstone building

Review 15:The fireplace did not work but they change a new room for us.

Review 16:Luxurious suite with kitchen. very good facilities such as Jacuzzi , swimming pools, fire pits, game room. Wonderful atmosphere.

Review 17:Staff was just correct. They did not make much effort to be sympathetic.

Review 18:Mammooth Lakes is what you would expect from a town close to the Yosemite National Park. Then the resort itself was well located and the appartment was great.

Review 19:no

Review 20:The neighborhood is so nice and only one or two miles away there are gas stations and places for dining. And the stuff there is very nice. You can pick up the map of mammoth from the registration desk.

Review 21:Refrigerator was noisy. Bathtub was filthy. Carpet was not clean. Towel bar fell off the wall. Room was very hot, even with window open. Rate for room did not indicate a "$20 resort fee" until I was ready to complete the booking.

Review 22:There wasn't much not to like. It would be churlish to nit pick and that is what is have to do

Review 23:Beautiful location, pleasant staff, lovely facilities, very strong coffee and Aveda toiletries

Review 24:Make no mistake the place is far from new. A lot of the facilities are not available all year round, for example the coffee shop is closed outside of the ski season.

Review 25:Great location and a wonderful place to stay, even off peak. Each room is really an apartment with good facilities for self catering, etc.

Review 26:Nothing - although no air conditioning which could be an issue during hotter weather

Review 27:Beautiful clean hotel and close to all amenities. Free upgrade to one bedroom apartment helped.

Review 28:Was greeted by a very angry woman opon arrival. Thank good we didn't see her Again. The rest of staff was very friendly.

Review 29:Was very beautiful, suited the surroundings. Nice to have washing mashine and dryer, they could use at clean though.

Review 30:Nothing really to complain about. We loved our stay.

Review 31:We had such a great stay at Juniper! Our suite was incredibly cozy and welcoming. Nicely decorated with attention to detail and with a fireplace to top it off. Fully equipped kitchen. Most comfortable bed and pillows I've ever slept in (and I usually don't sleep well in hotels). The view from the window to a mountain range was amazing to wake up to. It really did not feel like a hotel but rather like a private mountain house. I'd definitely go back there if I were ever to visit Mammoth Lakes again.

Review 32:It would be nice to have a bar/restaurant in the hotel.

Review 33:The complimentary taxi service to the village was brilliant and allowed us to go out for a meal as there is no restaurant in the hotel or within close walking distance. The pool and hot tubs were lovely.

Review 34:Not much in the way of on site restaurants (none) so needed to go in to town but that was easy enough. Only 5 mins in the car or a free shuttle bus.

Review 35:Great room (we booked a single apartment and got upgraded to a 2 bed - the extra space was great!). Nice pool and hot tub for a late evening dip.

Review 36:Room was too hot and there was no phone service. Staff was not able to fix it, so we moved to another room. It was hot, also, and still no phone service. It was 90 degrees in the room at 0600 in the morning. Staff did not seem to care that we were an older couple and would not be able to get in touch with anyone in case of an emergency.

Review 37:This resort has everything you could want. Set in a beautiful area. We did some lovely walks. Shuttle bus will get you into town for restaurants if you don't wish to cook for yourself.

Review 38:No air con - were told we didn't need it but first night was stiflingly hot. Second night was fine after propping all doors and windows open.

Review 39:Room was enormous, shuttle into town.

Review 40:It was hot while we were there. We were not told that the condos have no air conditioning until check-in. We felt that the units were tiny. It was expensive for what we got. We would not choose this resort again as we like a/c and spacious accommodations.

Review 41:Very nice, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 42:There were stains on the carpet. Definitely needs some rejuvenation.

Review 43:The apartment was comfortable and quiet. The rooms were a bit cramped but served our purpose.

Review 44:The staff were amazing! Upon check in we given wonderful tips about where to go around town, restaurants, amazing coffee, general stores etc. We were also allowed to change our payment method from card to cash which was handy too. Really lovely, helpful staff. The apartment felt like home - in fact, I kinda wanted to move in. Such a relief to feel at home after a slew of hotel rooms the 2 weeks previous. Great bathrooms, kitchen, comfortable living area and nice balcony. Highly, highly recommend staying here. The only flaw was the one if the shower heads wasn't that great but that had such little impact on my enjoyment of the time there. It was SO GOOD!

Review 45:It was very warm during our stay and the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, we were given a fan but it didn't really help

Review 46:The apartment had everything you could need inside and a balcony with a beautiful view of the moutains.

Review 47:Given the excellent reviews we were expecting more. However, it felt very much like the off peak season with non-working lights, non closing doors, and musty smells resulting in multiple room changes. The potential was great, but the vibe was not for us on our fall road trip with two young ones.

Review 48:When we arrived at 7:00PM, I was under the impression that there would be a restaurant on site. Not only was there not one on site, but there was nothing nearby so it was either shuttle to a restaurant or pay for a delivery service.

Review 49:The room itself had everything you could ask for as the separate bedroom and fully stocked kitchen met the needs of people that don't have the same sleep patterns

Review 50:The room was crammed with big furniture. The utensils were burned, melted & stained. No AC in room was hard during summer.Carpet in room stained. No washer & dryer in ground floor???

Review 51:The staff in the front desk was helpful but their tiredness showed .

Review 52:Located in Resort area, prices higher at local stores and restaurants.

Review 53:Front staff very friendly, location clean and welcoming. Given discounts to explore local interest. Pool and hot tubs great after long day at Yeosmite.

Review 54:The satellite TV continued to be searching for a signal. Maintenance had to be contacted 2 times. However, maintenance never made it to the room on the morning of the checkout, so I had no access to the news or weather before I checked out.

Review 55:The location is ideal and easy to find. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean, modern and cozy. The upgrade was a delightful treat.

Review 56:I mean honestly, the ONLY thing I can think of would be having breakfast included, but that is it. Everything else was amazing. :)

Review 57:The resort was gorgeous and the amenities were great. It definitely exceeded our expectations.

Review 58:The property is in disrepair.... Definitely needs to be refurbished. Hallways and rooms are dank and worn.

Review 59:It satisfied the necessary and required accommodation.

Review 60:Sofa Bed in Lounge was very uncomfortable! No AC seemed to be working, so lounge to sleep on was very hot! (Summertime) We requested a fan which was provided and made it more comfortable for sleeping.

Review 61:The Setting of Juniper Springs was very peaceful and tranquil in the Summer.

Review 62:The fact that the staff should be more flexible with the invoice. We needed and incoice on the company name but they prompt us with a big "WE CAN'T DO IT" . In other hotels we this was not a problem.

Review 63:This is the perfoct location to relax and forghet all your problems, I stayed in a room who was very well equiped. 2 x TV,s , dvd, stereo radio, fire-place, balcony, kitchen with all you need. Very quiet and peacefull place. Garage parking. The beatufull smell of yosemite.

Review 64:Although our room was comfortable, it was too warm for us and there was no air conditioning, but we were there in August and this is a ski resort!

Review 65:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable and the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the village.

Review 66:The only thing that wasn't so great was that there was no air-con (only a fan) so the rooms were still pretty warm at night (in the summer).

Review 67:A great place to stay, felt very comfortable and lovely and quiet. We would loved to have stayed longer here. Definitely recommend to anyone travelling this way.

Review 68:Not really a bad experience but since we have stayed in 5 star resorts, admitting being spoiled, this resort was a little disappointing. I think it needs to be updated so that people feel they received their monies worth.

Review 69:It was a nice resort. Everyone was very pleasant. The views were amazing.

Review 70:Coffee was tough to get, The one thing I ask for is a couple cups of coffee in the morning, I'm far from cheap but $3.75 for a cup of coffee is an insult.

Review 71:The room was beautiful. The facilities were very nice, comfortable and well kept. We absolutely loved the place.

Review 72:A long ride from Yosemite valley...

Review 73:Great hotel!- got a 2 bedroom app. big living room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 nice bedrooms and 2 baths. the village as a special atmosphere- just like a small village in the Alps

Review 74:Given a room which hadnt been cleaned with dirty dishes in sink and tissues on the floor. They did change it immediately when we complained. Very limited kitchen hardware when we came to cook meals ie no baking trays. Our room was a long long way to get to reception

Review 75:Quiet Nice balcony

Review 76:Coffee pot wasn't cleaned from last visitor (very minor issue).

Review 77:Beautiful property, nice unit. Great location. They have a driver/shuttle service available at no extra charge.

Review 78:We went in the middle of summer on school holidays, so we shouldn't really complain but there were alot of kids there and if you are looking for peace and quiet on the balcony overlooking the pool, you probably wont get it. The Wi-Fi was very slow and most of the time, not even worth using, make sure you have a 4G connection while you're there.

Review 79:The front desk staff were so friendly and informative. The location is amazing and the view from the rooms with a balcony is stunning.

Review 80:Kitchen floor fairly dirty - couldn't tell until I dropprf something that needed to be wiped up. Beds had depressions in them, maybe needed to be flipped.

Review 81:Pool area very nice with 3 hot tubs. Loved the view of the mountains from our room. Most of staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the down comforters.

Review 82:Wifi was complimentary but somewhat intermittent. Not a major problem.

Review 83:Great welcome and wonderful studio. Excellent care, attention to detail, staff, view and facilities. Such a comfy bed!

Review 84:Kitchen wasn't very well equipped and wifi dropped in and out - had to go down to the lobby to use it there which wasn't ideal

Review 85:Mammoth Lakes is a fantastic resort, loads to do

Review 86:No Aircon available which was a big problem as it was very hot. To add to this there was a small gas fireplace which was always on and had no instructions on how to turn it off. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 AM the first morning and would not give up until I got up to tell them that we are still asleep. The next evening we where moved from the back garden fire pit at 10PM as they said that guests have to sleep, even though we where not load at all and mostly whispering. The next morning we where waken up again by construction work outside (at 8.30AM) which I believe belonged to the hotel and the very loud noise of other guests. This was a short break for our honeymoon but we could not sleep both nights. WiFI is turingin on and off all the time wasting your battery. Room phone did not work to ring outside lines. There was only a small shop available which closed at 11 AM. After that there was nothing available around the hotel and no hotel restaurant, bar or even the possibility to buy a drink from reception.

Review 87:Room and balcony are vey spacious

Review 88:The hallways smell musty hotel. The worst customer service I've encountered. When checking out of the hotel I asked for a change of name on the invoice on the company name. I was refused without giving specific pwodu. I asked the manager in response I received the answer "itself comes somewhere you can go find him," I have not encountered such a hopeless treatment of customers. We strongly advise against. No air-conditioning throughout the hotel.

Review 89:Setting wildlife and nature.

Review 90:Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I made a mistake with my reservation and they were able to fix it for me. Much appreciated! They understand what good customer service means.

Review 91:Pool was small and not clean. Spas not hot and small. Very crowded pool area (everything close together). Staff not knowledgable or helpful. No shuttle to Mammoth Mountain. Rooms and bathrooms small. The Village Lodge is more upscale for a similar price.

Review 92:Beautiful location. Nice master bed. Good kitchen facilities.

Review 93:simply perfect ! great rooms (apartment), surrounded by impressive nature. friendly statt at reception. Wish we copuld have styed longer. Will come back in winter or summer, love that place!!

Review 94:We made a reservation by searching Yosemite Park area and the hotel appeared to be at the other end of Yosemite - more than 3hr drive in narrow Yosemite roads! Tried to reach the resort for an hour for re-arrangement. Apperantly, they have many locations served from central customer service! Hotel smells like winter hotels - which what really it is anyway! No breakfast!

Review 95:Beds are okay. Very nice nature. Should be very nice at winter time...

Review 96:Was quite frustrating not to have an information book in the room explaining things such as how to work the TV (we had to call the maintenance guy and still had issues the rest of our stay). Also we'd never seen a sofa bed like the one in our room. (Not the usual pull out on the iron bar at the front of the mattress.) We figured it was just a single bed and our last night there we mentioned it to the front desk staff...they sent maintenance up and lo & behold, there actually was a full size queen mattress in there! Little tricks & tips like that would have been helpful. Also more information on restaurants and activities in the area would have been appreciated. (more than the tiny little booklet they give you at check-in which doesn't cover much of anything.) The room is pretty nice but things such as a ripped oriental rug in the living room and a toaster that's probably 40 years old (not to mention no broiler pan!) was not impressive. And our deck looked at someone else's deck...not much of a view in my opinion.

Review 97:The kids loved the pool and hot tubs. We discovered the game room our second day and they had a great time there. The location of the hotel is pretty convenient to the mountain and the downtown area.

Review 98:the hotel was very nice, the entire family enjoyed the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. it was opened till late so we could enjoy it after a day of activity. the room was comfortable, just the right size.

Review 99:Here goes: Nothing like what it looks like on the website. Outdated.Shabby. Pool is tiny. We arrived after a 7 hour drive, asked where wecould buy some refreshments and were told that their coffee shop andrestaurant were closed- this was at 4pm- and we'd have to get backin the car and drive to the nearest town. No apology. Cleaners werestill in our room when we arrived at it despite the fact that check-inis from 3. We were in a family room which was so dusty it made my asthmareally bad. Two of us were expected to sleep on a broken sofa bed- thesprings dug into us, it was so over-used and the sagging in the middlewas so bad creating such a decline in the middle that we kept rollinginto each other. It was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on theground with my head on a cushion- even this was comfier! The fridge madean absolute racket all night and really bright light shone in from underthe door to the corridor. Do not stay at this weekend- worst day of myholiday, worst sleep of my life, useless staff.

Review 100:Nothing

Review 101:This resort has everything you need: all the amenities in the room for a long or short stay (with a balcony), a pool and 3 hot tubs. Also, it's location is great: close to Mammoth Mountain itself and restaurants and shopping.

Review 102:Need to provide more information regarding area and issues. No A/C in summer is a bit of a problem. Ok temp in room with windows open but rather noisy and not able to sleep until over in the morning.

Review 103:The refrigerator was broken! It was sort of cold the first day. We wentahead and bought food to cook in our room and it spoiled by the secondday. Also, the majority of our interactions with staff were awkward andnot pleasant. The staff behaved like we were bothering them. Even whenwe called to the front desk. Only the girl that checked us out took careof us well. We were there for 3 nights and housekeeping came by once inthat time. Worst of all, these guys put us in a room at the very rear ofthe property, right in front of an active construction sight!! So muchfor relaxing! They started work at 7am every morning we were there. Loudmachines, hammering, cussing workers, the whole nine yards. I called toget a different room and was told there were no other rooms available. The place was more than have empty! Terrible at taking care of theirguests!! All I saw was a bunch of teen-aged or twenty-somethings (whoacted like teenagers) who behaved like they would rather be somewhereelse. This is not what I expected of a resort!!!

Review 104:The resort is located in a beautiful spot. The facility itself is welltaken care of. The room had a great layout. The room came with all theamenities to cook and serve.

Review 105:No complaints but the shower water pressure was light, and would be nice if water softener treated.

Review 106:The full kitchen was fantastic..... Had breakfast and dinner on the balcony. The view was like visual therapy.....

Review 107:The room was a bit stuffy but couldn't leave door to patio open as it had no screen. The TV was useless. DirectTV with only a few channels. We were busy out hiking and sight seeing all day but it sure would have been nice to watch TV at night.

Review 108:We enjoyed the quiet room and the snack shop (when we caught it open) Location is good and staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 109:The carpets in the hallways were pretty beat-up, especially near elevator. Facility was built primarily for winter sports and had no air conditioning, which would have been nice to have in the Summer.

Review 110:Great location, nice room, nice facilities, friendly staff, great housekeeping.

Review 111:There was no airconditioner in the rooms.

Review 112:Didn't get a chance to experience the hotel because we changed hotels due to the fact that it was hot and there was no AC.

Review 113:No AC. Beds not that comfortable and bedroom got bright very early. Impossible to sleep in. Need blackout curtains.

Review 114:Location was beautiful with view to mountains and lake.

Review 115:The room was a little hot you can't control the thermostat and it was a bit small you get charged an additional 20 for every night you stay there I didn't see that

Review 116:I really like this place it was clean and staff was very kind the hotel is very nice with great amenities pool play room and other things

Review 117:Nothing bad to say as such. Only thing is I feel the price jumps high in rush weekends quickly.

Review 118:The location is great. Breathtaking views all around. Room, staff and amenity wise also it was satisfactory.

Review 119:We werent told there was no air con in the room, so at 3am when we couldnt sleep and called down, we werent impressed when we were told to open the windows! The pool is a little on the small side but gives you what you need.

Review 120:The room was a lovely size - we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite which has everything we needed from kitchen equipment to a balcony. The resort was a 30 min walk or 5 min drive to the village nearby to have a drink or dinner

Review 121:The room catered to your needs however we did not know at the time of booking there was a kitchen so after a long drive we ordered a take away as the nearest restaurants and shops were back ten mins in the car.

Review 122:Management upgraded me to a 1 bedroom upon arrival and the staff were awesome and friendly. My stay was pleasant and my room has an amazing view and was also very comfortable.

Review 123:Hotel was an awesome treat for our family - from the perfect layout of the rooms for a family of 4 with 2 teens to the great helpful staff, we had a wonderful time...even played family ping pong. Thanks!

Review 124:Some of the kitchen facilities (toaster and cooker) were dodgy and posed a fire risk. We reported this and were offered an immediate room change.

Review 125:Upgrade to bigger suite. Great location and parking.

Review 126:I request for room at higher floor. Though the resort was only 20% occupied they have not accepted the request and In fact they said that all the rooms are booked. Which was not true

Review 127:The location of the resort

Review 128:We stayed in May and used mammoth lakes as a base to get to Yosemite. It was a rather long drive but Juniper Resort itself was absolutely great. The kitchen was well equipped and the studio was spacious. It is brilliantly located for mammoth, ski season or not.

Review 129:Wish we had more time to spend there!

Review 130:The location! Gorgeous snow covered mountains, friendly and accommodating staff, clean pool and hot tubs, safe parking for vehicles.

Review 131:unexpected spring snow too cold the town was quiet not much going on activity wise we were bored we left early Our vehicle did not fit in the garage none offered to help us remove the overnight snow staff needs to cheer up a tad forced smiles and not very welcoming T.V. set up a pain to deal with

Review 132:Room was upgraded that was great ! very cozy room amenities in the room and kitchenette view was nice flat screens in two rooms Pool looked great and 2 jacuzzi

Review 133:The only complaint I have is the water temperature in the shower was not very hot.

Review 134:The staff was very welcoming and the resort was very nice. We were upgrades to a one bedroom suite that was decorated very nice and cozy and the bed was sooooo comfortable. We actually got snowed in unexpectedly and they very great about accommodating us for another night. We would definitely stay here again.
