Reviews for Uchisar Kaya Otel

Review 1:It was close to zero degrees outside, so we were looking forward to getting inside this hotel and having a nice cosy weekend. However, the room was very cold and even damp beside the window. No extra blankets in the room. Only an electric heater. No heating in the bathroom at all. Also, the room was not made up/ towels were not changed the second day. We could not use the hammam when we went there because there was a private treatment.

Review 2:Staff were very helpful. Bed was comfy.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:Wonderful breakfast! Friendly staff. Quick walk into the little village of Uchisar. Very picturesque overlooking the cave dwellings. The staff spoke english

Review 5:Can't point at any thing... Of course the place is getting older but that is ok

Review 6:The view is stunning! Quiet at night Helpful staff ( using google translate ) Spa Comfortable bed Breakfast was ok ( can mention honey combs frame...etc) Fantastic price ...low season;)

Review 7:The personnel had not, for some of them, the best level of English. But they were helpful when we neeeded them. We were not explained anything about the facilities/breakfast time when arriving. Checkout and conversion lira/euros was a bit hazy. The beds and corridors were sometimes noisy even though most rooms were empty. Some of the breakfast ingredients were not always fresh (fruits, bread, eggs) even though they gave a good overview of a turkish breakfast. Wifi was not always working.

Review 8:The rooms were clean, confortably large, and gave access to a very nice terrace. The breakfast offered the best view in the morning from your table. And the very big plus goes to the pool + spa facilities which were perfect to relax after hiking in Cappadocia. A shuttle to the airport was providing on our way back to the airport. The hotel is ideally situated to hike (Pigeon valley, Goreme, White valley..) or go on excursions.

Review 9:There are no elevators hence carrying luggage to the rooms was very inconvenient. Also, at check out, the card machine was not working.

Review 10:The suite we stayed in had a gorgeous view of the pigeon valley from the balcony and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff was great and very helpful!

Review 11:Room was too small for three people (it turned out to be a double room where a third bed was placed in, not what we ordered)

Review 12:Location, nice looking hotel and rooms

Review 13:We stayed in the 2 bed suite that looks over the valley, amazing views, watching the balloons at sunrise from the balcony is breath-taking. It was great, the patio felt very private, the children could be in the garden and you could see them, the staff booked our tours and were really friendly, breakfast was lovely. We liked the quiet village of Uchisar, buses were frequent and inexpensive. the hotel does accommodate tour buses but they are back late and gone early so didn't impact on our stay. We felt lucky to have found the suite that we did.

Review 14:temperature of the outside pool was too cold

Review 15:Amazing location and view. Extremely hospitable staff. They all went beyond and above to make us feel comfortable, especially Ms. Buse at reception has been very kind and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast has large variety. I highly recommend purchasing dinner, great value for all you can eat delicious food. Turkish bath and message services provided ultimate relaxation for me and my husband.

Review 16:The management is terrible. Definitely not having a tourism background at all. We stayed for multiple days and we had to witness three evenings of weddings in a row in the garden. Sitting on the balcony or sleeping was not an option. This was not even announced to us. In fact, we had to leave the swimming pool earlier due to their preparations. The rooms were cleaned in too much of a hurry. One time, the nails (pieces) of the previous person were forgotten. Or the broken water boiler was again put in the other room (we had two rooms). But yeah, can happen to anyone. The hotel has everything to be a top hotel (location/facilities), but they failed in every aspect.

Review 17:The hotel looks nice and has a nice view over the mountains/rocks. The bellboy (hotel porter), mostly available during the arrival of big groups, was very friendly.

Review 18:Parking near the hotel can be a problem later in the day. I asked housekeeping for milk for my coffee rather than use creamer. They bought the milk and a cup of coffee as well.. I was charged 10TL for the coffee when I could have made it in my room for nothing.

Review 19:It was a nice quiet location, with an interesting outlook. Would be happy to stay there again.

Review 20:Foodis definetely not at the Level you coule expect for that kind of hôtel. Poor quality ingredients, bad service. Globally employees at the desk were nice but quite unskilled. TV is ridiculously small. Good news, you are not there for that, View at sunrise is astonishing!

Review 21:The view and the swimming pool are great.

Review 22:The staff were very confused in Turkish and in English, the prices for tours kept going up or down depending who you spoke to, they also knew very little about events and performances that even we were aware of. The hotel pool is great however 2 of the 3 nights we were there the pool area was closed because of private wedding functions. Very frustrating because we were paying to use the place and couldn't.

Review 23:The hotel is in a great location and looks out of cave landscape. The hotel is well equipped with lovely rooms, outdoor pool, indoor pool, restaurant and bar. The included breakfast was a fantastic spread of local and international delights.

Review 24:I went there to relax and work at the weekend. Unfortunately, weekends are for wedding festivities. During the preparations no min. service or reserved area by the pool is being provided for staying guests. Nobody cares. Internet is bad (hardly could send emails). The noise level is being further enhanced by music tests. In order to have at least one day of rest I prolonged for one more night but to my surprise another wedding. When making the prolongation I was promised to receive the price of booking or not more than the price of booking.com. The next of course they charged me much more. Couldn´t be bothered anymore since I was angry enough. I will test them once more if the same happens it will fall out our company´s possible hotel list.

Review 25:Facilities and location are perfect.

Review 26:Despite the view, the hotel is a bit far from Goreme by walking distance.

Review 27:Hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. They made everything possible to make their guests feel comfortable. I like the panoramic view of pigeon valley at balcony. The hotel has both outdoor and indoor swimming pool plus turkish bath. Try it out for an experience.

Review 28:There was misunderstanding about our airport transfer, but the hotel reacted very efficiently to sort it out.

Review 29:I liked the view and all the facilities. The pool and spa was excellent.

Review 30:Wifi is spotty, small rooms

Review 31:Bahadir at the front desk was amazingly helpful. If not for him, my experience would have been entirely different. Great views, sauna/pools. Glad i stayed in uchisar instead of goreme, smaller and quieter with the same great scenery. Rented a scooter to check out the other area towns, the hotel arranged drop off and pick up at the hotel.

Review 32:The floors of the room being all carpet is a problem for someone who has bad allergies. In the morning I asked for milk and they said sorry I needed to wait for breakfast because they cannot provide milk at 6am in the morning.

Review 33:Panaromik odanin manzarasi muthis. The view of the panoramic room is fantastic.

Review 34:كل شيئ جيد جدا ما عدا خط الانترنت كانت ضعيفة في الغرف ... زرت الفندق مرتين خلال شهر وإنشاءالله ازوهم مرة اخرى في الشتاء ... Everything was very good except the WiFi was weak in the rooms ... I visited the hotel twice during the month and In sha Allah I will visit again again in the winter ...

Review 35:All was perfect ... except WiFi .. .كل شيئ جيد جدا ما عدا خط الانترنت كانت ضعيفة في الغرف

Review 36:Language is a problem. The staff isn't particularly helpful. They have a breakfast buffet but the food's average at best and just try asking for a paper napkin - no one understands.Rooms are tiny and the facilities basic. The indoor pool is just about big enough for two swimmers. There are no safes in the room.As far as guest relations go, they don't seem to care much about the subject at all. No one at the hotel told us that the English guided tours are only available once a day or we might have had a chance to sign up for one. The day before we were to leave, I asked the receptionist to book a taxi for us to get us to the airport but the receptionist took my flight details and arranged a shuttle. The Cappadocia Express service she arranged for us took us to the wrong airport - apparently there are multiple domestic airports scattered pretty far away from each other in Cappadocia. They recognised their mistake but didn't want to spend the full airfare amount to get us to our next destination, so they paid the difference on our airline company and got us on an evening flight. This meant taking us on another close to two hour drive to another airport which was a basic building with no facilities whatsoever (not even any passengers present till the evening) and we had to wait there till evening for our flight. I know about the alternate flight because a man beside me briefly explained the situation but since no one at the airline counters seemed to speak English, we were at the mercy of the cab company's rep. If he had explained that we could have taken an alternate flight by buying fresh tickets, i might even have paid for it to keep from wasting a day in that building. There was nowhere for us to keep the luggage so that we may go out and spend the day somewhere either. It was horrible, not to mention that they wasted a day's charge at our hotel in our next destination. Totally soured our experience in Turkey.

Review 37:The view was good. Pigeon Valley right next door affords a pleasant trek.

Review 38:internet. poor connection, but enough

Review 39:Location is excellent. The view magnificent! Spa and sauna really relaxing when it's rainy and you decide to stay in. Food is amazing. Buffet is amazing with so many different choices. Staff very helpful and nice! The lady at the reception speaks very good English and is very nice. The rest of staff as well.

Review 40:We apparently had a room upgrade but still found the rooms to be quite small and both the bedrooms and bathrooms were a little 'tired'. That said they were perfectly clean and comfortable and adequate given the amount of time we were in the room. TV tiny!

Review 41:Nice quiet location which suited us fine as we had our own transport - might not suit those reliant on public transport. Short walk to Uchisar Castle. Good views over Pigeon Valley. Good breakfast with plenty of variety. Free parking. Nice outdoor pool.

Review 42:Food was okay. Turns out the hotel is really geared for large tour groups so I would t recommend it for individual travelers.

Review 43:Excellent staff. Surprised us with a plate of fresh fruit on arrival. Very helpful and well versed in the area.

Review 44:Not many choices to order from the restaurant. The ladies staff at the Turkish bath were not friendly.

Review 45:Staff was cooperative ,location was great and the hotel was very clean. There was Turkish bath and swimming pool was very good.

Review 46:The staff help us ordering the balloon and car before we arrived and they are very patient and nice! The view just excellent! We six people all enjoyed this hotel! The breakfast tasted delicious! All in all, everything just perfect for us!

Review 47:1. The wifi was very weak and sketchy especially in the rooms. 2. The dinner buffet was a letdown. 3. Found hair (2 times) in my breakfast.

Review 48:1. Amazing location that offers a panoramic view of the Pigeon Valley. You can also wake up to a view of the multitude of hot air balloons floating in the air in the distance. 2. The hotel manager, Mr. Onder, was very friendly and helpful, both before my arrival and during my stay. He bent over backwards to find out transportation options for me and my friend when we mentioned to him that we wanted to go to Pamukkale.

Review 49:The hospitality of the staff was excellent. They made you feel at home. The view from the hotel room was beautiful. Watching the hot air balloons at sun rise was an extra treat. The hotel's price was a bargain considering all the facilities.

Review 50:Rooms were small

Review 51:The hotel is near to city center, The hotel is near to city center, have beautiful panoramic view, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, they arrange for us a local tour with suitable price. All speaks English well. They served a High quality and a wide range type breakfast and their dinar was very good compared to its price. They give us a free shuttle serves to the bus station.

Review 52:Nothing. It was a great bargain.

Review 53:Location was ideal for walking up to Uchisar Castle and hiking into the valley. We hiked all the way to Goreme and had lunch there. Once you get back to the hotel you have use of the warm pool, sauna, and Turkish bath with an option to upgrade to a massage or spa treatment. The wait staff at breakfast brought the children apple tea and the adults Turkish coffee which was a nice touch. We hiked and shopped after checkout and the front desk staff brought us more tea. We would go back to this hotel.

Review 54:Wi-fi is a bit hit and miss. The reception in the restaurant and reception is much better than the bedroom.

Review 55:The location is ideallic with superb views. The Staff, is without exception friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient. The spa is extremely well managed and spotless clean. The room is adequate with tea coffee and mini bar, the bath was most welcome. The open buffet is varied, plentiful, fresh and hot foods are served hot. I toured using local mini bus service (Dolmus) and everything in Uchisar is within easy walking distance of this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to all but in particular Solo Travellers.

Review 56:Uchisar kaya otel is the best you can ask for to stay...awesomelocation...great hotel and what a friendly staff...i actually miss thisplace...everyone up there will make u feel at home...if I cut it down myexperience in one word than Awesome

Review 57:Nothing.

Review 58:Location and view. Complimentary use of the hamam. Helpful staff who assisted to book balloon flight - the very last minute. Great view from restaurant - at breakfast.

Review 59:We had a corner room and the wifi didn't work really great. That was the only thing I didn't like.

Review 60:Rooms have their own balconies with breathtaking views. Staff are very helpful.

Review 61:- The Bar service, very slow, very few options and it's not so sure you get what you expect. Anyways, food was not so bad and the prices were incredibly low for a 4 stars hotel.

Review 62:- The facilities, especially the SPA and the Indoor Pool (included in our reservation, otherwise subject to extra payment)- The view on the Pigeon Valley - The building with the typical Cappadocia atmosphere

Review 63:The staff was beyond amazing and accommodating. They not only upgraded us, but helped us book all of our sightseeing adventures. The buffet breakfast was amazing and the dinner was the best we had in Cappadoccia. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area!

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:This was our first visit to Cappadocia. And we couldn't have picked a better choice. The room we had was beautiful with a nice size balcony off the room where we enjoyed the Pigeon Valley, sunrise and balloons and the view daily. The food was buffet style but very good, Fresh fruit in addition to all the other hot and cold items. . The staff was amazing always smiling and looking for ways to help us enjoy our visit, and very friendly and welcoming. The manager very friendly too. We stayed here for the first time and liked the suite room which was very nice and spacious. I'll be back to this place and highly recommend to others when in the area. Can't wait to go to Cappadocia again and we will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Review 66:Hotel has to provide a shuttle to the bus stop. Employees in the restaurant have to be trained for improving kind and polite attitude for customer.

Review 67:The hotel is very good in terms of landscape and facility. Especially the landscape from the hotel is very good. The quality of breakfast is moderate good and the manager of reception is very nice. But the attitude of the employees in the restaurant is a little impolite. Riding taxi or car make you feel comfortable. Taking bus for hotel is very exhaustive.

Review 68:Cleanliness. We stayed 4 days... and everyday I asked for our rooms to be cleaned again (under beds, wardrobe)... But no change. Housekeeping cleans what they see. So imagine years of not cleaning under a bed or couch... Dust, toothpicks, hair... Awful.

Review 69:Location! Breathtaking view of the Pigeon Valley, and very nice layout.

Review 70:This was our first visit to Cappadocia and I went with my wife and 2 young children(2 & 5). And we couldn't have picked a better choice. The room we had was beautiful with a nice size balcony off the room where we enjoyed the sunrise and balloons and the view daily. The food was buffet style but very good and was easy for my kids to decide what they wanted. The staff was amazing always smiling and looking for ways to help us enjoy our visit. The manager spoke to us at one point and carved out time in his day to give us a map and his suggestions of what to do. He even told us of a beautiful sunset spot that was one of our favorites. Can't wait to go to Cappadocia again and we will defiantly stay at this hotel again!

Review 71:Excellent hotel of this class...nice property and kept extremely clean. Front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast area is spacious and one of the best, I have experienced. Fresh fruit in addition to all the other hot and cold items. We stayed here for the first time and liked the suite room which was very nice and spacious with microwave and refer. I'll be back to this place and highly recommend to others when in the area.

Review 72:The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Fabulous spa treatments. Quiet, great location.

Review 73:location, vieaux

Review 74:noisy wedding parties

Review 75:Location, view, staff, sunrise

Review 76:No lift, difficult for old people, requires some face lift

Review 77:Location, atmosphere, scenery, staff

Review 78:The view and location is perfect. bedrooms are little bit small but not bad. staff is very helpfull and friendly.

Review 79:the staff are mostly not friendly. the front office manager was friendly though

Review 80:the place itself is very unique and beautiful. ambience is great

Review 81:The vintage look of bathroom appliances are good, but they should be in perfect working order.

Review 82:Great location and great view

Review 83:There is nothing I would like to complain.

Review 84:In comparison to the other hotels in that area they provide much better service.

Review 85:food, view.

Review 86:It was amazing.

Review 87:Leaving

Review 88:Phantastic location with magnificent views, in particular at the hot air balloons.

Review 89:very quiet and comfortable

Review 90:Back massage at the spa made me feel worse than before the massage.

Review 91:location views breakfast friendly and helpful staff pool area

Review 92:Location near the Pigeon Valley. Great Pool.Delicious dinner buffet. Friendly staff.

Review 93:The restaurant, especially breakfast was poor. It looked a lot with variety, but when you came to eat there wasn't much there. Soft butter, flies in the fruit, soup still there from the night before and the staff were sleepy compared with the rest of the place. EXCEPT they were busily preparing for lunch before breakfast was over. Not the usual Turkish standard of hospitality and service!

Review 94:Rooms and ambiance were good and the staff were helpful. Initial reception from the front of house manager was brilliant. A model of sympathetic helpfulness.

Review 95:Simply the best location in town! The restaurant is also the best in town, tour groups have breakfast there because of the view and the food of the restaurant. If you go to Kapadokya, this is the place to stay. The staff was very friendly, the manager invited me to his office, gave me tea and arranged all tours I needed: Balloon flight, underground city tour, trail along the caves, etc. When you book your reservation, make sure you send an e-mail to the front desk manager, he answers right away with whatever you need, specially airport-shuttle.

Review 96:It was an excellent experience we really loved the place. The hotel management especially the manager was very helpful. We would definitely like to stay in the property and recommend without hesitation.

Review 97:The buffet breakfast and dinner was neither appealing nor tasty.

Review 98:The staff at the reception was extremely helpful & kind. They really went all the way to provide us with some specific requests. The hotel offers amazing views of the area. Turkish bath & Hamam was a nice experience. The Hotel offered Hot air balloon tours (via an affiliated entity) at better prices than competition.

Review 99:great location, friendly and helpful staff. i did request early check in and because the room was not ready they gave me a superior room, it was great !!! the staff at the restaurant were fantastic.

Review 100:The breakfast caters more to tour groups than to the gourmet tourist. There was a good variety but the hot food was never really hot. We overcame this by having the chef cook our eggs fresh. Of course, we had been very spoilt by the wonderful breakfast offered by the Ibrahim Pasha Hotel in Istanbul - not so much choice but everything fresh and simple and delicious.

Review 101:This beautiful hotel was our base for our holiday in Cappadoccia and we loved it. It is in a wonderful location above the Pigeon Valley and our room was comfortable and clean. Not large but perfectly adequate in size and the view was stunning. Every morning you can wake up to see the balloons rising over the valley. The staff were lovely - very pleasant and helpful and it was an easy short walk up the gentle slope to Uchisar where you can climb the 'castle' for the amazing views across to Mt Ageas. A lovely hotel.

Review 102:If I need to put down a negative, it would be parking. And, it wasn't that big of an issue to me.

Review 103:The indoor swimming pool was actually heated to American standards. The staff was very professional and very courteous. One of the best experiences I've had with a hotel in Turkey. We've been here for almost 4 years. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Review 104:My husband and I stayed in the Uçhisar Kaya Otel for two nights. We havedecided for this hotel cause we were attracted by the Spa Offeringespecially the Indoor Pool that we wanted to use in the morning and inthe late evening. When we arrived at the Hotel, we really liked the style and the view of the hotel. Soon we got very disappointed by entering our room. The room was so small that it is alarmist impossible to handle two suitcases in there. The bathroom was also very small and outdated. What they call an LCD TV in the room wasn't larger than an iPad. And the free wifi turned out to be a very very lame and unstable system. After we went "swimming" in the indoor pool which is more a hot tub than a pool, we wanted to have dinner but the restaurant already closes at 9pm and we had to leave the hotel and drive to Göreme cause there is no restaurant in Uçhisar. The bed was unfortunately uncomfortable due to a soft mattress and very hard pillow. Besides this our room was next to a machine room with on and off noise during the night. The morning after I wanted to use the pool again for some relaxation before breakfast but I was told that the indoor pool is closed until 3pm. Overall our expectations haven't been met in this hotel. We travel a lot and have been in hotels with all kinds of price ranges but this one was overpriced. The hotel lives from big tourist groups who come by busses as part of a sightseeing tour. Requirements of individual travelers are poorly met. A few nice things have been there. My husband was asked for the morning newspaper he wanted to read and received it after breakfast. The staff was very nice and friendly and the breakfast was also ok but not overwhelming. Unfortunately we wouldn't recommend this hotel to individual travelers who would like to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. If we come back to Cappadocia, we would most probably decide for a small boutique hotel in Göreme.

Review 105:we had to leave!

Review 106:the staff were amazing. the location is quiet and spectacular right on Pigeon Valley. the rooms were funky and fun. the grounds and pool were restful and inviting.

Review 107:Nothing, Excellent in everything..

Review 108:Very Nice Hotel,Very good location,Very cooperative reciption, excellent for relaxation. Can be recommended to everyone

Review 109:Nothing Major: sometimes house keeping wasn't done by 3PM.. VERY cold pool (we didn't use it)

Review 110:Great value for Money. Great staff, especially at the reception desk. AMAZING location, you see all the balloons in the morning from your balcony.

Review 111:Very nice and new hotel,Friendly and professional staff, fabulous location nice view and quite. Many thanks to Mr On buro Muduru (front office manager)

Review 112:Everything was as we expected and staff helpful. Buffet in dining room great and each meal had something new to try. We stayed two nights and enjoyed it all.

Review 113:Too many groups at the restaurant; the dining room, despite, its nicedecoration, is too big and really lacks intimacy if you come as coupleor small family (too many tables are for groups of almost 30 personsincluding the ones with the best view!). Small round tables (2 to 4 P.)are next to the wall with no view. The swimming pool is not heated andis absolutly freezing, you can't stay more than 30 seconds...what apity... The light is the bathroom could been a little brighter. You haveto pay for the inner pool, a pity if you want to swim, since the outdoorone is so cold.

Review 114:Superb hotel with outdoor pool and garden ! Great for parents andchildren! Absolutly gorgious view from our room and terrace which leddirectly to the garden (the panoramic suite), from the garden, pooland from the restaurant (Pigeon Valley and Uchisar Castle). Rooms arelarge are confortable. Very abundant "Club Med type"restaurant (buffet), with good and various food (traditionnal andEuropean) Very quiet and family friendly despite the fact that thehotel is full of groups (espacially at the restaurant). Really a niceplace if you want to rest a little bit by the pool after hour longtrecks. Diner included in price.

Review 115:I had contacted the hotel before I went there and Front Office ManagerMr. Onder Cinkil was really helpful to put together a schedule for mystay. He arranged all the tours. We also went out with our car and Mr.Cinkil provided information: what to see, where to go and where toeat. Restaurant Staff was wonderful. I have celiac diseases and theywere really helpful what to eat and what not to. I enjoyed the TurkishBath and sauna. Our room was cleaned everyday. They left fresh fruitsfor us everyday in our room. Hotel location is awesome. Our room wasfacing Pigeon Valley and garden and if you are early bird you can getup watch baloon rides from your balcony. I loved the hotel and city.Thank you to all of the staff who help our stay enjoyable. I willrecommend this hotel.

Review 116:Toilets not fixed well with smell

Review 117:This hotel is located on the edge of Pigeon Valley. The service from staff was excellent .The room was comfortable with amazing views. Decent food was provided by the restaurant.

Review 118:Not at all.

Review 119:Tv is not so good quality. No lift for handicap person to go to enjoy the lawn and view the seanery.

Review 120:The service level is very good. The staff is very polite and always trying to help and to make a more comfortable stay

Review 121:nice workers and hotel is clean

Review 122:its just amazing !

Review 123:typical hotel food

Review 124:top view. excellent service.

Review 125:- Spa - Location
