Reviews for The Village Lodge
Review 1:No view from our room. Only street view. Light fixture in room was awkward. Hung too low so you could not see TV from bed as it was in the way. Also not centered over table. Had to move table out or you would hit your head getting up from table.
Review 2:Very roomy and nice kitchenette. Very big studio room. Although this was a handicap room and that may have been why. Great location to get the gondola to the mountain if you are skiing. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Review 3:The only thing we found wrong was we didn't have a remote for the Smart TV. But it was fine, we made do. But we did notify maintenance and we were never brought one.
Review 4:Everything! We were first welcomed by a very friendly, knowledgable front desk staff and a very nice young man who helped us to our room with our luggage. Our room was very welcoming, comfortable and clean. We loved the location of the resort...close to everything...skiing, shopping, eating, etc. We loved the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs after a long day on the slopes! All in all, we loved everything about our stay at The Village!
Review 5:The units are privately owned and our unit wasn't as well stocked as our friend's unit. For example, the ONE non-stick frypan was bowed up in the middle and there wasn't even one baking pan. Also, there was a horrible loud thumping noise whenever we used the hot water in the kitchen.
Review 6:The location of this property was perfect and very convenient. Unit was very clean. Hot water was instant.
Review 7:I didn't like the central heat I wish if I was able to control the heat my self it was really too high for me and had to open the window all night
Review 8:I liked the place it's very nice has everything u need. Great staff and service this was my second year year going there and would go again
Review 9:The on and off wifi connection in the room.
Review 10:Centrally located and near to the Canyon Gondala. Easy access to the ski slope. The room was big and having the kitchen helped us to prepare meals daily.
Review 11:We booked our stay at the Village again since it was very convenient taking the gondola to the Canyon lodge for skiing. But I didn't know that the village gondola wasn't running during Thanksgiving. So we had to drive to the main lodge for skiing. Taking the shuttle wans't easy and the shuttle line was so long we waited over an hour to come back to the Village. If I knew all about this, I would've booked for Xmas or New Years. I will come back but not during Thanksgiving anymore.
Review 12:Many thanks to your wonderful staff! I brought all of my adult children and their families, 12 of us in all. What a lovely property and great accommodations! See you again soon!
Review 13:I requested an early check in around 8-9am, they had told me I would receive an email to let me know if that would be possible. When I showed up they told me it wasn't going to be ready till 3pm. After not receiving an email saying an early check it would not be possible. I had to wait for a few hrs till it was ready. And even then they told me that they were going to call me once the room was ready and it wasn't till 4 that I walked to the front desk and they told me that the room has been ready for a few hrs now. All I got was an apology. I was waiting and waiting for the call, I made sure to write my number on a paper for them when they told me they would call as soon as it would be ready. For the amount that I spent (399) a night I will not be returning.
Review 14:Everyone was nice, the room was great
Review 15:the pilot in the fireplace can't be turned off at all at any given point. on low, still very hot. treadmill was broken in the building we were in with error 29. pool and jacuzzi open at 10 am. should be opened earlier like at 9 so we can use it before checking out.
Review 16:rooms are nice, full kitchen.
Review 17:Are you kidding me?
Review 18:Great Location. Easy access to bars and cafes. Warm welcoming staffs. Nice balcony with a view. Free nearby shuttle service to skiing area. Would stay again and again if I visit this place again.
Review 19:Honestly, It was the fact that we couldn't stay with you longer. :-)
Review 20:Our stay at your Mammoth Lakes location was enjoyable, so much so that we came back to stay a second night. We especially want to acknowledge Michelle at the front desk. Her customer service was superb. She made us feel important, welcome and happy. You are lucky to have her. It was a great experience.
Review 21:Some nearby restaurants will be closed during off season thus you may need to drive around for dinner after 7:00 PM.
Review 22:Central location and close to reataurants. Great room at a good value.Front desk was very helpful and willing to provide suggestions regarding places to go and things to do.
Review 23:Amazing location with beautiful, spacious, fully equipped apartment. Incredibly comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Went in very low season and suspect it may be noisy in high season. Heated outdoor pool was fab.Convenient underground parking. Good shops
Review 24:The road home was closed during our stay but staff was very helpful and gave us a new route home.
Review 25:Beautiful property. Room was lovely. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Review 26:I think the room prices was a little high at $250 a night. High altitude was a little difficult to deal with
Review 27:It's a fantastic location. Little around to do Bu ideal for a short break. Sure would be great in the ski season. Would return again. Staff are great and locals are friendly.
Review 28:The property build within a ski village was a beautiful place surrounded by amazing landscape. The hotel itself was comfortable and had everything we required. My husband fell ill whilst we were here and the hotel were amazing and went out of their way to accommodate extra nights stay for us as he was not able to travel. We appreciated all they did for us and would not hesitate to recommend this location and property to anyone.
Review 29:The hotel was a little dated and there is no porter or safe.
Review 30:Right in the middle of Mamooth Lakes, very good location! The rooms are nice and clean, the fireplace is a nice touch
Review 31:Receptionist gave us vouchers for restaurants that were closed. The wifi was problematic and reception did not answer the phone so had to walk to lobby to talk to them.
Review 32:A very comfortable room that would be idyllic when skiing. Everything around the lodge was self contained, so was able to just relax for the night.
Review 33:This was a great place to stay although only for one night, on our travels en route from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon via Las Vegas. Good value for money as out of season ski resort. Excellent facilities all in one convenient, picturesque location. Shame we couldn't stay longer !
Review 34:The room was not "opened".....pilot light in fireplace turned off/ ice maker in refrig off/phone and wifi off. Without a phone we were unable to resolve issues. Also pricing was deceiving. Room quoted at $149....actual cost was $194.93 with Fees and Taxes. This should have been stated up front.
Review 35:Very nice in a beautiful location - suite we enjoyed was really nice. We left something important in the room and the staff really came through and sent it to our home FedEx. Outstanding customer service from Dillon and housekeeping!
Review 36:There is a swimming pool, but it's outside and even in September almost impossible to use. There is almost everything for extra price in the room. No kettle to make a tea. But the tea is for free.
Review 37:The village has everything you may need: restaurants, shops. The atmosphere and architecture style are very nice. Hotel has parking with direct lift to the floors. Room was spacious and had fireplace.
Review 38:Some kitchen items in the apartment were a bit dirty on our arrival (e.g. coffee machine), kitchen well equipped but some smaller kitchen items were missing (e.g. scissors), apartment can be a bit pricey.
Review 39:Fantastic location for both summer and Winter, great underground parking, large studios with full kitchen (not kitchenette as it says in the description), fireplace, and very comfortable apartments perfectly arranged and well equipped, nice staff.
Review 40:The desk clerk upon arrival was Dylan Nack from Oceanside, near my hometown and, does he have a "knack" for customer service!!!! He went way out of his way to accommodate my every wish! He was a delight to share my Bucket List reason for coming back to Mammoth after fifty years away!! Thank you!
Review 41:Washing machines didn't get clothes particularly clean and everything had a bit of a stale musty smell as it came out the washer.
Review 42:As a joke I asked for a framed A4 sized picture of Nicolas Cage to be on the bathroom dresser... I made the booking months ago and completely forgot about it and was hugely surprised to find it just as I asked when I arrived. 5* for the staff. Couldn't do enough for you.
Review 43:In the center of the action - right in the heart of the wild neture. The staff was the best - verty helpfull and accommodating, and helped us get the most of our stay,
Review 44:the room was dirty not dusted and grime behind the furniture and nightstands carpet was old and needed to be replaced and the television was broken and they replaced it but it still didn't work.
Review 45:I like the location and overall ambiance of the village. receptionist was very helpful.
Review 46:This is an amazing hotel, fantastic setting and surroundings. Amazingly comfortable with everything you need on your doorstep. Great places to eat and drink with a whole Forrest outside your window to explore.
Review 47:There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Excellent place to stay
Review 48:LOVE IT!! The location is great; everything you need is at your fingertips or within a very short walk. The scenery is beautiful, right at the base of Mammoth ski area.
Review 49:It is a way from the centre of Yosemite however its very close to the Devils Post pile and Rainbow Falls which is a wonder day out. And not too far from mono lake
Review 50:Wonderful apartment everything catered for in the kitchen, superb shower and bathroom and wonderfully comfortable bed. The village square has some nice shops with very reasonably priced restaurants and a small but well stocked general store.
Review 51:Leaf blower woke us up outside at 6am... When there weren't any leaves!
Review 52:The room was just perfect and the bed was so comfy. Staff were really welcoming
Review 53:Wow, what a place to stay. Lovely surroundings, fantastic facilities, warm comfortable rooms (we had a 2 bedroom suite), massive well appointed kitchen. Fantastic staff.
Review 54:Rooms are a little "simple", the center of Mammoth requires a drive to
Review 55:Good location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. A bit off the center of Mammoth, which provides quiet nights
Review 56:Long walk to lobby and pool across busy public area (from building we were in)
Review 57:Good central location, great facilities.large apartment with full facilities
Review 58:Check out too strict at 11:00, we needed few minutes more but it was not possible.
Review 59:Fantastic hotel in a beautiful place. Enormous bedroom, nice staff, near to everything... Totally recommended.
Review 60:It's really a winter resort but it was OK if you like walks
Review 61:The staff were excellent. One of the staff even went somewhere else to get us soap powder when the despenser was empty in the laundry room
Review 62:the distance from SFO! we drove and it was a very very long drive. next time while visiting Yosemite, i would prefer a hotel within Yosemite Park. this was in Mammoth which involves 3 hours drive through the park.
Review 63:location is good with many convenient eating places nearby. also the room was very spacious, well furnished and had a convenient free car park facility.
Review 64:The place comes up under searches for Yosemite but is a 2-1/2 HR drive from the park. Lots of scenery around Mammoth tho. Complex could possibly be noisy at night during high season I would think. Wifi is just ok. Not much availability for breakfast on site if not self catering. Recommend you drive 5 mins to theBreakfast Club just off Main St where the girls will look after you well. The TV didn't work in either living room or bedroom.
Review 65:The apartment was huge with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Was well equipped for a self catering break. Pool area good. Lots of restaurants located in the complex. Was off season so not too busy
Review 66:A little quiet as it was off season but that meant we got space by the pool Server at the Mexican restaurant was quite rude
Review 67:Clean and beautiful surroundings
Review 68:Our bad experience is about your company Booking.com as we looked a place to stay at Yosemite National Park and as a first timer I took the option at this hotel, I called and they said was 45 minutes from the park! It took us 2:30 hours to get there just to spend the night and go back, it was cold, rainy afternoon, everyplace closed for lunch, or a drink! like a phantom town! I had to use that night as no cancellation was accepted and still they wanted to charge a 50 dlls fee for "cancellation" wich they finally
Review 69:A good place to stay when we need a winter vacation. good restaurants and stores around.
Review 70:I appreciate ML is primarily a winter resort but if you are open in the summer.......then get your staff trained on Yosemite as it is the key reason for staying in the region .They seemed clueless and uninterested. That said it is worth staying in Mammoth as very pretty and local restaurants were great.
Review 71:Great vfm and all round cleanliness.
Review 72:Mammoth Lake is located about half an hour drive from Yosemite National Park. Those coming from the west, because San Francisco is less rested arrive in Mammoth Lake, located east and south of the park.
Review 73:Excellent hotel, great suites are spacious and well-equipped, the images on the site reflect exactly what you get! There is also a complex of shops and cafes and is also a nice pool.
Review 74:Hidden extra $20 per night charge for parking and wi-fi. Wi fi was the worst of any of the 5 locations we used on this holiday and the only one that charged. Lost connection every 5-10 mins. Reception staff were very unforthcoming and seemed to assume you had been there before.
Review 75:Location and atmosphere were fantastic. Great live music. Serb large suite lists of facilities inside and outside the apartment.
Review 76:The cleaners came either too early or too late on both days.
Review 77:The hotel is right in the centre of the village. It has wonderful views of the mountains. The village was lovely and fun. We even saw bears in a tree in the village. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Review 78:Kitchens in the rooms had 'basic' utensils etc, but was probably enough for simple meals.
Review 79:Central location with lots of entertainment (mountain biking, games etc) and restaurants nearby. Short drive to the lakes and mountains. The rooms were spacious and very well furnished/comfortable and clean.
Review 80:None
Review 81:Very helpful staff, when we checked in we were upgraded to a better room at no extra cost. Great location and facilities with many shops and restaurants on the door step. Room was very spacious and comfortable.
Review 82:Guest bed not very comfortable.
Review 83:Hand towels folded in elephant shape ;) . Dishes were done while we were out (without asking). Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice.
Review 84:The bed was a bit hard. Fireplace didn't work. I could see how the village noise would keep some people up at night.
Review 85:An excellent location in Mammoth village. The hotel has its own parking garage. Our one bedroom suite had a balcony and was pretty spacious. The living room had a fireplace.
Review 86:No breakfast included, but there is a local shop where you can get what you need and the kitchen was very impressive.
Review 87:We were only there for 1 night, but we wished would could have stayed for longer. Lovely place, with excellent facilities. We got upgraded free of charge to an amazing room on the 4th floor.
Review 88:Only air con was really loud and ceiling fan couldn't handle the heat during the evening.
Review 89:Great facilities and stores at the doorstep of the hotel.
Review 90:Facility or unit was getting very tired--needed new carpeting and furniture.
Review 91:hotel location very good, but our room location was not that great--overlooked a road---hotel not full-could have put us in a better location.
Review 92:We were staying in a party of 6 adults which required 2 people to use the living room bed settee for sleeping. This arrangement was just not comfortable or sustainable and required myself and wife to book separate accommodation for the rest of our stay. The swimming pool was tiny in comparison to the size of the resort.
Review 93:The accommodation was clean and well maintained and perfect for 4 adults.
Review 94:The tea and coffee making facilities were poor compared to most good US hotels with insufficient supplies provided for four people.
Review 95:The apartment was excellent, with plenty of space for four people. Mammoth Lakes is a great place to explore and The Village makes an ideal base.
Review 96:Musty bad odor in master bedroom. Very noisy till 2 am due to night club downstairs. Parking garage difficult to enter. Parking spaces mainly compact
Review 97:Location Lots of restaurants shops close by.
Review 98:We had the worst breakfast of the whole 2 week trip at "The Side Door" - very slow service and very uncaring staff. This is a ski resort hotel and obviously geared for that for very wealthy families. We did not like the atmosphere of the hotel but the expensive breakfast was absolutely atrocious and we would not stay here again if we were in the area.
Review 99:The suite/ apartment was very spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 100:Refrigerator did not work properly. On max cooling/ freezing, our ice cream turned into liquid and the items we normally put in the fridge had to be placed in the freezer. Carpet in hallway areas on our floor had lots of stains. No inside access to the pool. Had to exit the building and walk through the busy village to get to the pool.
Review 101:Location was great. Near lots of conveniences, good underground parking. Kitchen was stocked with all kinds of cooking gadgets.
Review 102:Unfortunately there is not air conditioning in each room. A portable air conditioner was supplied but only one per suite/room which wasn't helpful when there are two rooms and a person on sofa bed in the lounge.
Review 103:Fantastic Hotel, great location. Staff very helpful. We has 2 bedroom suite with a balcony which was fantastic, very clean and tidy.
Review 104:Wifi was slow and the room didn't keep the noise out at night with young kids.
Review 105:Great location with all the facilities you need in walking distance. Very nice rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 106:Nothing, I loved it and would not only return but would make it a destination!
Review 107:The rooms and bathrooms were very nice and I LOVED the location with the outdoor restaurants, shops, fire-pits, and activities for children. This is a place that many generations could enjoy together (which we had with us). The fact that we didn't have to leave our location and were still able to find good food to eat was a significant plus as well!
Review 108:Slightly more expensive than I wanted to pay, and they sneak in a $25 fee for parking your car, not included in the daily resort fee. The wi-fi connection was horrible.
Review 109:Proximity to village activities. Security of parking garage was great. Our room was spacious and good for 2 young children to share the living room.
Review 110:Restaurants too expensive
Review 111:Confortable And spacey rooms, suites, well equipped kitchen, swimming pool ok, jacuzzi great, staff very friendly, underground parking very convenient
Review 112:Fantastic large apartment and in very good repair. Very pleasant hotel and development. Disappointed we did not stay longer. Very professional staff
Review 113:Rooms were tired, stains on carpet. Had to have bathroom cleaned on arrival - hair on floor and toothpaste on bathroom vanity. Lots of chips and marks on wallpaper and doors.
Review 114:Extremely friendly and helpful staff in a great location.
Review 115:First person to greet us was not welcoming. Place is a little warn and needs repair and updating. Beds were hard as a rock. It was a little pricey for what you got.
Review 116:Location is central to most activities which is very convenient.
Review 117:I had left something of value in the hotel room after checkout. The staff were very kind (I spoke with Cherish) and ended up sending it in a timely manner to my house. We had a wonderful stay and the kids loved it!
Review 118:We were looking for a place in or near Yosemite. This place was one on the first proposed place on booking.ch. We were very disapointed as this hotel is situated 2 1/2 hours from Yosemite. We had to shorten our reservation (without no penalty cost from the hotel management that was very apreciated).
Review 119:Nice hotel well equipped. Comfortable beds and bathroom.
Review 120:The restaurants in the area close pretty early around 9 good to know in advance.
Review 121:Place is nicely located, friendly staff, parking in the building, laundry facility, large rooms full kitchen, clean and neat. great places to eat near by. Some activities in the area with kids.
Review 122:The beds were not very comfortable. It was annoying that the wifi had to be signed into every time the phone or tablet was turned off and on again. Also, the wifi signal strength was very weak. Major buffering issues. The in room coffee was awful. We just went to Starbucks.
Review 123:Location, shops, restaurants, pool, spa were excellent.
Review 124:Only one elevator!!! The other one was down for maintenance. (All 3 days we were there) Long waits, crowded, elevator went up when we wanted to go down & vice versa.?????
Review 125:Nice lobby, comfy chairs.
Review 126:We would have liked to see more of the surrounding mountains from our balcony.
Review 127:The hotel is very centrally located to all of the activities we wanted. The restaurants and bars in and around the hotel complex were delightful.
Review 128:Wish the gym had towels and water or a water fountain at least
Review 129:Everything was lovely the kids we very happy and entertained by all the things to do in the village and the pool. We will be back!
Review 130:The rooms are could do with a referb but that's just being really picky. They are lovley.
Review 131:A perfect stop over for one night on route to Vegas. It has everything you need, all in one gorgeous complex. Plenty of restaurants, cute little shops and a swimming pool. It looks very Christmassy, even in summer! The rooms are really big.
Review 132:Overall clean and functional, I felt the pillows, linens and bathroom towels could use a bit of improvement.
Review 133:Beautiful view. The balcony and overall size of the rooms were impressive. The room was bigger than my condo! Housekeeping was on point. The soaps, shampoo and conditioner all smelt wonderful. Good size bathtub. Prime location near restaurants and outdoor activities.
Review 134:Not enough outlets at bedside. Hard to find a luggage cart.
Review 135:Nice furnishings and plenty of room. Good location right in the village with lots of restaurants a short walk from the hotel.
Review 136:Our room was next to the trash shute. Literally stunk in the hall way. Also, too many loud parties after midnight till 2-3am. Security should have shut them down
Review 137:The great location with restaurants, shops, etc
