Reviews for Mammoth Mountain Inn
Review 1:The room didn't have a mini frig nor a microwave.
Review 2:The room was clean and most of all the king size bed was very comfortable. We were very close to the ski lifts which was great jus steps away from our room. I will be back Mammoth Mountain Inn.
Review 3:Rooms are small and older, you can hear everything in the halls and from your neighbors. Bathroom was tiny. Restaurant and bar service are slow and limited menus. No room service or concierge.
Review 4:Convenience, proximity to the mountain. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Ski valet is awesome. love the indoor and outdoor jacuzzis. You can get rentals, lift tickets and ski school right at the hotel without having to go to the Main Lodge.
Review 5:Overpriced, cold food!
Review 6:Restaurant had cold food and terrible service. We will not stay in this hotel again because of the poor restaurant service. Not to mention overpriced!
Review 7:The food we ate was great, but the diversity on the menu needs expansion. The room was a disappointment in many respects: 1. Cold air and even snow came through our window into our room. We actually had a little snowball fight with the snow on the ledge inside our room. 2. The room was substandard in terms of cleanliness. We found food wrappers inside the drawers and on the floor when we checked into our room. 3. The beds were not comfortable. There was a large indentation in the center of each of our beds that made it difficult for two people to sleep without falling into each other . 3. The overall feeling that the room was in disrepair left a lot to be desired: the curtains were ripped, the sink in the bathroom had large stains and scratches, and cracks in the tiles in the bathroom. 4. Thankfully, none of our family is disabled, but if we needed to use the disabled bathroom in the lodge, we could not. It seems that it should be a hotel's first priority to get a disabled bathroom up and running.
Review 8:Loved the lodge, the bar area, the little store where we could get lattes, and the helpfulness of the staff at the ski concierge. It was great to pretty much ski in and ski out because of the location of the lodge. It seems that that should be a hotels first priority to get a disabled bathroom up and running. Our room had a stunning view that allowed us to watch as staff prepared for their day, and the first years hit the lifts and the slopes. Watching the storm materialize and take place was amazing.
Review 9:The property is outdated and about as beat up as you'd expect a ski resort to be, years of ski boots and equipment have taken their toll on the interior but that's to be expected. The property is as clean as can be expected with a transient staff.
Review 10:The location is great for mountain access, not so great for any sort of nightlife, not that there's much to be had anyway.
Review 11:Stayed off season so apart from the hotel, nothing else open around it and chalets corridors looking a bit grubby.
Review 12:Great location opposite ski lifts and pistes if skiing. Good bar & restaurant with helpful staff generally.
Review 13:If you stayed in the main lodge it was probably nice. Our room was in one of the other buildings and it was a bit tired. No refrigerator, microwave and pretty small.
Review 14:We were going to see the Devils Postpile and it was close.
Review 15:The room was really comfortable and the location great for the panoramic chair lift. This is a super spot for hiking and mountain biking (bring gloves!)
Review 16:A staff member entered my room when I was asleep and woke me up. He didn't announce himself and said I ordered a cork screw. I think this is highly unacceptable at 10pm on a Saturday night I mentioned this to reception but it didn't bother them as much as it bothered me
Review 17:Pet Friendly
Review 18:The hotel has a dated charm of a sort, but its decor is extremely tired, its feeling is soulless, and its staff have a general air of not being bothered. TV didn't work, internet was poor, we were overcharged at the bar and the restaurant manager was openly rude. This was one of the more expensive stops on our 3 week trip, and by far the most disappointing. We wouldn't recommend it.
Review 19:Hotel is well located for skiers or summer outdoor enthusiasts, but not for others. Stay in the lower village for a better vibe. Things may be better during the ski season when other requirements of a hotel may not bother you as much.
Review 20:The room is not like on the website.. the bathroom walls and sealing had water stains and the floor tile also wasn't clean. I guess that's what you get when you stay at an old hotel.
Review 21:Great location and lots of activities for the whole family. close to great restaurant s and Comfy beds.
Review 22:Hotel is older now and a bit rough around the edges. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was tiny. Overall ok. Location was the best part
Review 23:There was no fan except a box fan in the closet which we didn't know about until the morning when we were leaving.
Review 24:The room was very nice and comfortable.
Review 25:No breakfast. Leaves guests having to go out to breakfast. Continental would have been very helpful.
Review 26:Location was excellent. Restaurant in hotel was excellent. Staff was excellent.
Review 27:Poor room condition. $50 pet fee not outlined on Booking.com. Expensive breakfast and staff overloaded with a handful of customers. Prices increased after clicking reserve, but before I could book. Hotel said that was Booking.coms fault.
Review 28:Nice location.
Review 29:It was hot in the room. There could of been a kettle to make tea not every one likes coffee. Breakfast was very plain. If it was Europe it's always plain but we're in America everyone likes food. Not a good selection. No cereal. Toast.
Review 30:The staff were very friendly.
Review 31:The day before we left we were in and out of our room waiting for room service to empty our trash and pick things up but they never came. By 2:00 in the afternoon it appeared they were done for the day. Some hotel rooms were left open with piles of bedding strewn about. Very unprofessional looking. We were in the Yodler building.
Review 32:Well for one except for the gondola ride and getting $5 off on that they didn't offer any other discounts because we didn't Book on their site.
Review 33:It was a great location with lots to see my nephew to enjoy the Swimming pool and indoor saunas And in the morning my nephew and my brothers worked out in their recreation room
Review 34:Bad odor in second floor on east building, not to mention animal feces and no ice in ice-maker machine. Also mattresses were very uncomfortable and made a lot of noise of old spring.
Review 35:Spa and pool excellent!
Review 36:Property is a little bit dated and tired in need of over haul and modernising.
Review 37:The location of this place is outstanding. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Review 38:Location, location, location has its price. Not recommended for the budget conscious.
Review 39:Mammoth Mountain Inn's proximity to skiing, biking, and hiking activities is second to none: You can watch the skiers or bikers come down the mountain as the gondolas bring more up the mountain. Plus the staff were top-notch and high -maintenance oriented.
Review 40:You told me, double room with double beds, and the hotel gave me one room double bed, but I told them and they gave me one king size and two twin beds
Review 41:The place was wonderful
Review 42:There was a resort fee of $20 which I'm not really sure what for, as yes it had wifi, pool, spa and fitness centre which was tiny but so do other hotels and they don't charge this fee and the price of the room for the night was already quite expensive.
Review 43:The area was very pretty, the hotel was clean, staff helpful, the bed was very comfortable. There was good facilities at the hotel.
Review 44:Loved the location and the convenience of having everything you need all in one spot. Comfortable sitting areas to enjoy a glass of wine while relaxing or playing a game of cards.
Review 45:Rooms and overall hotel is a little bit dowdy and in need of renovation.
Review 46:Right across from the lifts, rentals and ticket booths. Pretty good quality bed linens and bed comfort.
Review 47:The rooms are pretty basic. The walls seamed kinda thin and you could hear the couple walking around next door. Not a big deal though.
Review 48:Great food, location, free wi-fi, clean and great looking! Love the fire place in the lobby. Wonderful staff ( except for one lousy waitress) love the daycare they offer the little ones! Super professional and give you peace of mind while you enjoy the snow
Review 49:Rooms in Annex building need updating. Bathroom shower/tub in terrible condition. Mold spores on ceiling.
Review 50:Close to the slopes. Restaurant in main lodge is good. Main building upon check in is nice.
Review 51:Expensive Old US $ 250 a night, but even without a refrigerator? Wifi really slow Not really ski in-out
Review 52:200m from main entry to ski lift but not ski in-out
Review 53:The Hotel is too expensive. They charge everything. They force you to use their restaurant (bad and expensive). They take too long for the restoration services.
Review 54:To snowboarding and that is it. The hotel is too expensive, has a poor service and charges almost everything. My reservation was 1.350 (already very expensive for 5 nights), but at the end they have included US$ 350 more. They did not have breakfast and I had to pay for water (because they don't have even a fridge in the room)
Review 55:The parking was awful. no room in the underground structure and the staff wasn't very helpful.
Review 56:The access to the mountain was great. Also, right next to the yodler, a mammoth tradition.
Review 57:Stayed in older portion of hotel, they didnt have elevators.
Review 58:Very close to snowboarding lift and gondola, very short walk. Very good price. Parking was close.
Review 59:Nobody new anything about services the resort had to offer. Elevators did not work. Heater was one temp for 24hours. ice on inside of window. dogs
Review 60:Location
Review 61:cheap construction means that, if you are downstairs & your upstairs neighbors are rambunctious kids, you will hear it; jumping, bouncing will make the grill of the heater, in your room, shake & make a lot of noise... the noise really was bad.
Review 62:Location & friendly staff...
Review 63:Extremely disappointed, we paid a lot of money to find that we couldn't even get to the hotel because all the roads were shut. More frustratingly we followed the directions of the website too. We travelled all night long to find we couldn't get to hotel and ended up at a motel. Hotel refused to give us a refund and we lost out on two nights stay. Really frustrating and would not recommend this hotel as frankly you cannot even get to it due to road closures. Should make people more aware of this before booking!
Review 64:Spa area very unclean, bathroom not that well maintained, veryexpensive for summer, very expensive, high additional charges ( resortfee for what?)
Review 65:Nice location, nice lounge, comfortable beds
Review 66:The person who cleaned up our room the first day threw away some of our toiletries we left in the shower. We had just bought them and they were full.
Review 67:The hotel was decent and the bed was comfortable.
Review 68:The restaurant was excellent and the staff very helpful. We had a duplex for our room which was a bonus as it would normally sleep 6 but we had it all to ourselves. The night sky was spectacular and, I imagine, the skiing here would be superb for beginners.
Review 69:Some of the communal areas look a little tired, and the food could be more imaginative.
Review 70:Really enjoyed our stay at Mammoth - the rooms are cosy and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities. We also enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool and using the hot-tubs. The staff are super-friendly, especially our waitress Paula (a wealth of knowledge on good local hikes). The location of the hotel is pretty high so it may take you a day or two to acclimatise.....
Review 71:The price seemed to creep up with extra add ons, was not that cheap in the end and the building we stayed in felt like a youth hostel when you entered it - not what i expected for the price.
Review 72:Yurts bus stopped at the reception of the hotel, so was easy to and from our hike. Also there is a nice bar close by with a view of the slopes for a celebratory beer afterwards. Staff were really helpful.
Review 73:Wouldn't serve me a beer and a glass of wine at the same time with my meal in hotel: said it was against the law (really?!). Said a beer with a whiskey was ok - hilarious! No breakfast provided. Tour bus revving up for ages outside our bedroom window in the morning not appreciated.
Review 74:Nice room, good outdoor pool (mercifully heated!). Great location - near gondola for exciting trip up the mountain. Very picturesque. Helpful reception staff.
Review 75:The altitude sickness!!
Review 76:Staff were friendly, rooms were big and clean. View was amazing! We stopped in 10 hotels on our west coast tour and this was one of the top ones. The staff were helpful in telling us where to go and what to do!
Review 77:Rooms were lovely. Staff were so helpful even when I had difficulties dealing with my bank back home. The hot tubs. The hotel facilities are extremely good. Off road parking. Hotel is in a quiet area rather than city centre. Has an Austrian ski resort feel to it. Spacious and in the hills. Gorgeous restaurant with reasonably price meals. Has clothes washing facilities.
Review 78:Well we went during the summer and this is a winter destination for most but air conditioning would have been great.
Review 79:The location was great and I loved the room. We had a deluxe room with the loft and it was perfect for our family
Review 80:Difficultly locating booking. Trouble finding with sat nav, postcode took us to the wrong place - however lat/long worked.
Review 81:Proximity to alpine style pub/restaurant.
Review 82:No microwave or small refrigerator. Not enough options for food. The store downstairs is nice but way too expensive for little things like a soda or chips. I got the impression that the Inn caters to large groups of tourists from foreign countries and perhaps they do not mind paying astronomical fees for average food items. the servers work hard in the restaurant but should not have to carry the food all the way from the kitchen at the other end of the second floor, My daughter's meal was cold,It was chicken and mashed potatoes. Mine was a caesar salad, nothing memorable. The check came to 51.00 dollars and we tipped up to 70 dollars mainly because of the work the server had to do to get the meal to us. YOU NEED A CLOSER KITCHEN to the restaurant. This should be a priority.
Review 83:The staff were excellent. Very kind and obliging. Room was clean and comfortable.
Review 84:This place is dirty, old and run down and in addition to the daily room rate they charge you a $20.00 a day resort fee they say for parking and wifi that doesn't work most of the time. I would've preferred to stay at the Motel 6. Btw it doesn't have AC and it gets a little warm in June. I will not be staying here again.
Review 85:The only good thing I can say is the location is good
Review 86:I didn't know there was an option to stay in the lodge area. I would have chosen that. The jacuzzi didn't have any bubbles. It was like being in a big bath. It was warm and probably delightful in the winter, but some upgraded jets would have added to the experience.
Review 87:The staff was very nice, the lodge was warm and comforting, the location was great.
Review 88:Not a lot to complain about in this place. Our phones and cords became very hot from the wall current while recharging.
Review 89:The staff was very helpful, polite and amazingly sincere! Everyone seemed happy with their work and and truly interested in my inquiries and comments. This was the frosting on my stay! Thank you
Review 90:The built-in old wall fan barely worked and didn't circulate air. Having window opened helped, but a small electric fan would have been most appreciated.
Review 91:Staff was great! We needed a new hair dryer and it was delivered within minutes. Bed was very comfortable. Wifi worked perfectly. Lobby is beautiful and cozy.
Review 92:The Accomodation in the yodeller house was very basic and not what we expected having booked a "de luxe" room. Fine for boarders, less good for grown ups. Plus if I'd taken my cat on hols, I wouldn't have been able to 'swing' him! Suggest you insist on rooms in main hotel. Plus in summer there is nowhere to eat on the mountain so we drove to mammoth lakes (round trip 10 miles) 3 times a day. I've been in winter and summer and the mountain inn is better for winter visitors
Review 93:The mountain is terrific. The hiking terrific.
Review 94:It has small bathroom. Fridge, microwave, and humidifier are by request only based on availability asked for a humidifier and didn't receive it. No television in the children's room, our tv was under the stairway so view was obscured a bit. But all of that was minor since we went to go hiking. There are NO updated hiking maps. None of the trailheads on mammoth are clearly marked if they are marked at all. Our Gondaleer found a map from 2008 that another guest left behind that had the hiking trails mapped. The part of the trail we were able to find was part of a bike trail once we lost the trail we had to go back because my son couldn't go down the mountain in what was a "moderate" trail. I do not recommend Mammoth Mountain for hikers unless your experienced in hiking rough terrain, in case you loose the trail, and do not have young children. If you love biking this is a great vacation spot.
Review 95:Location at the base of the mountain was great.
Review 96:- the building where our room was was run down - the room itself was good and comfortable but the building itself can use an upgrade, especially given the prices for the hotel
Review 97:- very good location - clean - well organized - arrived late at night and the check in was smooth - would def visit again
Review 98:Restaurant closed at 10 pm-gad to go to town for.food.as.arrived late. Closed at 10am in morning.
Review 99:Need better food options...
Review 100:The room was great!
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:Love Mammoth mtn been going for 25 years..
Review 103:Food average and expensive for the quality
Review 104:Location and ski valet
Review 105:Hard to get from room to lobby. too many doors stairways
Review 106:Location Location Location
Review 107:The bathroom was dirty. Rooms looked very different on the pictures, furniture was old, room smelled like a cigarette.
Review 108:Good location
Review 109:Too expensive but they know that guests have not too much choice in that area...
Review 110:Might be great during season for skiing.
Review 111:Restaurant service and food was below average
Review 112:Stunning scenery Helpful staff Location
Review 113:Expensive restaurant and its the only place to eat there.
Review 114:Very nice place with great mountain view. Clean and friendly
Review 115:Rooms are in a terrible condition.
Review 116:Mammoth is great, and so was the hotel shuttle driver, Hunter.
Review 117:Resort fee , whereby you pay upfront for facilities you may not want . Expensive price of beer , food etc.
Review 118:Cable car to the mountain top
Review 119:Der Teppich aus den 70-gern.
Review 120:Friendly accommodating staff, ground floor room with balcony as requested, clean & modern
Review 121:Very rude!
Review 122:The breakfast's employees were veryyy... unprofessional.
Review 123:Located right at the Mammoth Mountain Adventure Center.
Review 124:Good location - close to walking and cycling trails. Lovely terrace for an early evening drink. Pool with great viewas.
Review 125:Hot and stuffy. No air conditioning. Opened the windows. It took until 4 am to cool off.
Review 126:Nice room.
Review 127:Sliding glass door hard to slide.
Review 128:price
Review 129:Location (hard to find at night), price (additional charge)
Review 130:Large room, Wifi, Comfortable bed
Review 131:No breakfast included.
Review 132:The staff was really friendly. The hotel is in a really scenic area. Great hot tub.
Review 133:The location is spectacular!
Review 134:Excellent Staff Excellent and reasonably priced Breakfast
