Reviews for Cesmeli Konak

Review 1:No

Review 2:Lovely house in Safranbolu old city. Easily to get by taxi from the bus terminal. Also close to the Hamam. The room is antique but well-equipped. High-pressured hot shower water of clean little bathroom and toilet in room. Staffs are friendly and willing to help though they do not speak much English. We had dinner at the restaurant recommended by the Turkish nanny(she drew a map for us), and it was fantastic! Wonderful stay in Safranbolu.

Review 3:Right in the centre of the old town. This hotel adds to the experience of staying in an old Ottoman city which is now a world heritage site. The rooms are lovely and if you visit the Ottoman House Museum you will see many similarities. The breakfast is superb with a lot of variety. The staff are friendly and helpful. Free parking in the adjacent hotel.

Review 4:The bed was not comfortable.

Review 5:Excellent staff. Location perfect. When we arrived we had some freshly baked biscuits in our room. During our stay we received some more and a fresh fruit platter. The hotel is an antique boutique style and was quite elegant. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We can recommend this hotel.

Review 6:walls are extremely thin to be able to follow the conversation in the room next to ours. very small bathroom.

Review 7:cosy deco - lot of attention to detail

Review 8:Staff do not speak any English at all and were not really friendly. We stayed 3 nights and did not have our room cleaned anytime. We asked for a lower floor, as there's no lift in the hotel and our room were on the highest floor-we were the only guests! During the check out, the price was different than the one in booking website-first time it happened to me. Summarizing, I did not understood the philosophy of that hotel. They have everything to be perfect but the staff jeopardized it :-( I did not recommend this hotel during the rainy season!

Review 9:Breakfast was good Decoration is very beautiful Location is excellent

Review 10:I came in November. It was cold in the room at night. It seemed that the heater did not work well.

Review 11:Great breakfast, location at the centre of the old town

Review 12:The middle aged guy is very unfriendly. The moment we stepped in, instead of letting me to show him my booking like how others will normally do, straight away tell me they are full house and expect me to go off. If not because of the booking refund policy we'd have just walked away as there are so many ottoman style stay along the way. Throughout the entire stay the facial expression is like as if we have offended him on something although we are very sure that we never. The facial expression changed immediately when the head turns to other guests and I can see that he tries to be friendly and please some of them. So I take this as being selective and unprofessional.

Review 13:Great location, few minutes walk to the central of old town, minibus stop.

Review 14:Rooms my be interesting from a historical perspective but not convenient for living: Low ceilings and small windows with no air-conditioning and mosquitoes that keep you awake, along with the noise from rooms above you or even across the hall. Bath room and toilet are too small and neither have vents. No hot water in the morning. English is NOT spoken.

Review 15:There was little that I liked about this hotel.

Review 16:normally it should be pay by cash, the boss take payment from my credit card without asking me!

Review 17:very convinient location for walking around the attractions.

Review 18:The shower and toilet are not separated in the bathroom so be sure to remove all your stuff before taking your shower. We stay several nights but the room was never cleaned. There is a private parking in front of the hotel but you have to pay between 10-15 lira/per day.

Review 19:The friendly atmosphere, the Turkish breakfast: a good start for a long day. The owners doesn't speak really english so a few words in Turkish are really helpful.

Review 20:Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Review 21:The staffs there are really nice and helpful. And the room is beautiful.

Review 22:Friendly atmosphere, kindness of the staff

Review 23:The bathroom is toooo small

Review 24:I like this hotel

Review 25:The bathroom was a bit tiny. Lights in the room was quite dim and difficult to do some reading during night time.

Review 26:Located at the centre of the Old Town and close to everything. Staff were friendly. The hotel building and room decors were quite authentic in Ottoman style. They helped us to book bus tickets and provided a free transfer to the bus station.

Review 27:No lift but it's ok as long as the staff help me with the baggage. Heater not function.

Review 28:Good location. The hotel itself already like museum with modern bathroom facilities. Room very spacious and clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 29:Paper thin walls. Two nights out of three we were awoken by other guests simply talking in their rooms. In this old hotel the guests are really sharing 1 room...that are divided by walls that provide visual privacy...but no sound privacy. Desk Clerk unwilling to help. Twice we approached the desk clerk for help with our laundry; to use the hotel washer/dryer, to use the laundry line visible from our room, or to find someplace in town to do our laundry. Twice she turned us down. Saying...we couldn't do laundry in the hotel and there was nowhere in town where we could go to do laundry. Coupled with her very limited English this was a frustrating situation where the desk clerk appeared unwilling or unable to help a customer solve a very simple problem.

Review 30:A lovely Ottoman style hotel just steps away from the market and central Safranbolu. The hotel cleaning lady graciously offered to take our laundry back to her house to wash it. Likewise the hotel manager offered us the use of the hotel washer/dryer after he became aware of our problem. The breakfast was very good. Despite my rating the hotel staff as only fair, the hotel cleaning lady has a heart of gold and couldn't be more helpful!

Review 31:Only one bottle of water in the room for three people, we ask for more then they give us, but besides the manager and the other one, others English communication are not easy. The official website said free pick up transfer to bus, but only one way for free to bus office of new town. Maybe our arrival time was too early at 6 o'clock when we called them for pick up, we felt a little not patiently. We ask them the minibus departure time they didn't tell very clearly result in we're late for minibus transfer to new town ,and have to take a taxi that they help us to call.

Review 32:Location is good near central of old town, not far to famous turkish bath. Room is clean and comfortable. When we ask for book bus tickets to Goreme they help kindly. Good breakfast.

Review 33:The upper living room just outside our room was looking nice, but the lights were not working, so we couldn't use it.

Review 34:We were nicely surprised with the hostel and our room. We went in deep winter and the heating was on all the way through, making it a nice refuge and a cozy stay. The decoration is nice, reminding me of a video game inn. Staffs were friendly, though speak almost no English apart from one guy. Breakfast was satisfactory, with cooked egg, and the whole Turkish breakfast lot. Location is close to the town center. All in all, a very nice stay.

Review 35:There was no free parking as mentioned in the advertisement but for a small amount we park just across the street.

Review 36:The staff was very friendly and wishing to make us comfortable. The rooms are not big but comfortable. The hotel is at the centre and we did not have to walk so much to reach the main interesting places. The breakfast was perfect.

Review 37:No private car park near the hotel. (bad surprise as we asked for car-park when booking!) Water evacuation in bathroom. A little bit noisy (thin walls)

Review 38:Very good situation in town. Very nice room in this ottoman house. Very good breakfast served in a room in ottoman style.

Review 39:The staff are very helpful and nice, they even paid the taxi fee for us from bus station. I and my friends we love this hotel so much. Everyone can feel easy to stay here. BTW the breakfast is too delicious here:)

Review 40:Credit card is only for confirmation? No, you will be charged in creditcard when you check in, but we were plan to pay cash. They evendidn't ask when they charge the room to your credit card. Exceptthis, everything else are good.

Review 41:Traditional atmosphere, delicious breakfast, good location

Review 42:The single room is very small.

Review 43:The hotel is old style and located in the center of the old city. It has nice public area and the breakfast is fantastic. Staffs are very friendly and took me to the bus agency when I left.

Review 44:Twice we were approached by the clerk of a nearby hotel because we were on their parking. However that was the parking which was designated by the management ofCesmeli. Rather more clarity about the parking.

Review 45:In the center of town. Spacious, picturesque and tidy room. Very friendly reception. very good breakfast.

Review 46:A beautiful traditional konak appointed with lovely carpets and other artifacts. Lovely divan areas to sit and relax. A superb breakfast. Staff were hospitible and helpful to a fault.

Review 47:We enjoyed the comfort of our suite coupled with a caring staff. The hotel is in the enter of the old city and provides free parking and free breakfast. The town is a UNESCO heritage village in the Ottoman style.
