Reviews for @Samui Haus
Review 1:Good location with the nice scenario of the sea. Peaceful atmosphere with no loud noise. The owners are very friendly. I love to play kayak and swimming in the pool.
Review 2:Everything! The personal was super kind and the hotel was perfect. Breakfast simple but very complete. Free kayak is the best. And the pool was great too
Review 3:Lovely Thai family run hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in sea view room, right on the beach - large but quite basically furnished with big comfortable bed, open wardrobe with hanging rail but no shelves or drawers! Private patio with small jacuzzi and steps down to beach. Lovely view to wake up to! Hotel is on the quieter, west side of the island, on a pretty bay with a few other small hotels with beach restaurants/bars in walking distance. It's about 45 mins from airport. We hired a car to get around.
Review 4:@Samui Haus is a beautiful resort property that touches the beach. It's is a 45min car ride from Samui Airport and away from the party scene (great for families or couples who want to relax). We loved our stay there and were sad to leave.
Review 5:The 'Garden bungalows' back directly on to a noisy road and are very dark, we paid for an upgrade to the larger and much lighter Beachfront bungalows. A lot of the neighbouring properties are pretty run down and dirty.
Review 6:Good location. Staff try hard. Beach is quite nice. Outside eating area is nice - but needs some flowers and brighter colours.
Review 7:Quite a remote location on west coast of Koh Samui - quite expensive shuttle rides required to get out and about (if you don't want to risk mopeds - we didn't). Beach / sea rather disappointing and young jellyfish (in October) a deterrent to swimming! Shower drained very slowly so flooded toilet floor for a while after each use.
Review 8:Well appointed, comfortable, large room with a great sea view, air-con and ceiling fan. Friendly staff who catered brilliantly for my wife's yeast allergy and arranged ferry/airport shuttle and trips to various island locations. Good food and lots of menu options. Good pool.
Review 9:Restaurant and bar close at 8.00pm so if you prefer to eat later and have a few drinks than you have to go to one of the very few nearby locations. No tuk tuks or taxi's serve the area as it is a very very secluded spot. So if you want to go somewhere further than walking distance, than you have to call a taxi yourself.
Review 10:Great Location if you want to be away from the noise and the crowds. Ideallic location overlooking a very quiet and beautiful sandy bay. The beach (Lipa Noi) is just 3 steps down from the bungalow. Beautiful bungalow with huge Private outside Jacuzzi. Communal pool very large and clean. Good breakfast. If you want a paradise on earth location, no discos, no beach bars, no noise, few people, few boats etc than go here. If you want night life discos etc go somewhere else.,
Review 11:The downsides are not so serious but still... * The noise from the nearby road (this is specific to Garden View's that line up along the road - Sea View's and Pool View's are quiet). * The smell from the bathroom sinks. It goes away with each cleaning (they deodorized it every time they cleaned the room) but in the evening or the next morning it comes back again. Most probably specific to just a few units or even the only one (Garden View 2). * Petty griefs: We didn't have have a hair-dryer in the room - given the weather, that wasn't much of an issue. Microwave (for those who still prefer food from convenience stores) is not in the room either. * The sea is not quite clean and the entrance is a bit slimy. * The breakfast, though tasty as everything from the resort's restaurant, was quite limited in options. Basically, it's either Thai-style soup with shrimps (delicious but the same every day) or fried eggs with ham or sausage. And coffee and toasts on top of that. More than a week of such mornings becomes a bore.
Review 12:* Hammocks on the beach! * The pool is neat and taken care of. * The restaurant menu is quite good (this is especially important given almost no venues around the resort). * The personnel is very kind, caring, and helpful. * Overall, the resort is well-maintained. * Free bicycles! Just take it and ride around. Kayaks are also free to take. * A nice beach with a great view (did I say about hammocks? They also have swings). * Reclusive, relatively quiet, calm. Excellent to get away from city turmoil.
Review 13:It's quite far from everything. We rented a car. I would recommend for couples or relaxed friends.
Review 14:Beautiful, warmly made-up room. You are exactly three steps from the beach. 4 from your own mini-pool. Magical view. If you don't care for the perfect white sand turquoise water beach, you can have the whole thing next to the hotel only to yourself.
Review 15:Breakfast was limited, with lots of Mosquitos around.
Review 16:Room was massive and beautiful. Liked the outdoor bath and the softness of the covers on the bed. Staff were very friendly and even taxied us up to the ferry port for free.
Review 17:The hotel was located in small village, and there were a few hotels. No restaurants and shops around the hotel. If you need more choice for your dinner and massage, you should use other hotels. The hotel reception and restaurant were closed at 10pm.
Review 18:The hotel facilities and equipments were new, they kept the hotel clean. It was very quiet because of there were not restaurants and stores around the hotel and very few people stayed there. A private beach was in front of the hotel, and there were several beach chairs for guests. The beach was not very clean due to many seaweed, but sea water was clear. You can enjoy swimming easily. The hotel provides free bicycles. I used a bicycle to go to other hotels for dinner and shop drinks at 7-eleven. Free kayaking is also available. The hotel transport service was cheaper than an airport taxi.
Review 19:The location of the accommodation is not good. There are no shops or restaurants close by. You need a taxi or motorbikes to go anywhere. Besides the restaurant/bar of the accommodation closes between 21:00 and 22:00 and then everyone leaves, which makes it really quiet at night. Furthermore, the accommodation quite expensive.
Review 20:Very beautiful accommodation with a beautiful pool and directly at the beach. Bikes and kayaks are free for use. We stayed in a sea view bungalow. The bungalow is very modern and the view is absolutely breath taking.
Review 21:We only stayed here for 1 day because of our departure from Lipa Noi pier. Room s very humid and dated (need more renovation), lots of mosquitos. Generally, Lipa Noi isn't a good place to stay in my opinion, there s no good beach, no bar, restaurants in this area close at 10pm and much more expensive than in Chaweng (one in Samui haus is acceptable). There is no light on the street so it's quite dangerous.
Review 22:Hotel tried their best to make us not bored, you have free kayak, 3 free bikes, volleyball and good swimming pool. The owners are awesome, really kind and friendly ones. They even gave us a free ride to the pier... But once again, 1 day there is more than enough for us unfortunately!
Review 23:The wifi was not so good.
Review 24:The staff were wonderful. The pool was lovely and refreshing. The room was contemporaryily furnished, large and clean. The breakfast was amazing!
Review 25:Wifi was very poor and also the hot water was off twice in the time we were there.
Review 26:almost private beach, really friendly management and staff, decent food and a good pool. Perfect place for relaxing.
Review 27:The room we stayed in (by the pool) is very nice, well decorated, the bed is comfortable, but a wardrobe was missing. The Wifi is disconnecting very frequently It is not very convenient to swim in the sea. However, the pool is great, and it is possible to paddle to a once beach not distant from the hotel
Review 28:The Samui Haus team is thai and very nice. We stayed with a 2,5 years old son, who was spoiled by all the crew. The personal is discrete and is always trying to help and serve you. The location is great, it is a calm area
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:We take the bungalow house. Very beautiful, quiet and modern. If you want to go relaxing, that is your place! You can take bikes, kayak... All free. Then if you want you can rent a scooter and visit the island. The staff very kind and smiling!
Review 31:The bed was a bit too firm for me, however a mattress topper was sorted out very quickly with no problem. The boat trip organised by the family was not as good as it could have been because the boat was very small. The captain was not sympathetic to the comfort of the guests and went at a very fast pace creating the worst boat trip ever. The owners worked hard at keeping the party of four happy but I wouldn't recommend this trip until they have acquired more experience. I think we were the first group to be taken out.
Review 32:This place is the perfect get away from it all retreat. Lovely owners and staff, freshly prepared breakfast. Nice pool and beach. A scooter will help you make the most of your stay. Good size accommodation with everything you would need, beach front would be the best choice.
Review 33:Sorry not many outlets for electricity in the room, especially the bathroom where there could be a need to have an outlet for a hair dryer and electric razor. Lacking hooks to hang towels or clothing. Few hangers in the closets and not enough reading lights in the room. Beds were comfortable but using a duvet for covers made it too uncomfortable as they were very hot in the night. It would be better to just have some bed sheets for covering in the evening. The room was spacious, good tv reception, clean and WiFi reception was terrible for the first nights but was rectified after the first two nights and gave good reception. Lovely room with access right on the beach. We enjoyed the stay and rented a motor bike from them for the duration of our stay (inexpensive) and worth the price.
Review 34:Service was excellent. Dining good.
Review 35:Felt that 200 baht for a transport to the pier which is a 3 minute drive was a little steep.
Review 36:Staff were lovely, very helpful, made to feel incredibly welcome. Rooms are huge, lovely bathroom and shower. Beach looked really nice, pool was great and breakfast was lovely in the morning.
Review 37:not much to see oustdide ,very excluded from town, the room hws not been cleaned twice in 5 days but overall a nice cheap place to stay to relax and do NOTHING.
Review 38:the resort is very good for what we paid, staff very nice.
Review 39:Beach was somehow deserted - very limited selection of places to eat/drink something around the hotel You need to rent a scooter to get around - otherwise you are stuck at the hotel. Staff although very helpful and nice was not speaking good English.
Review 40:Nice quiet beach Staff very nice Nice swimming pool Good scuters to rent
Review 41:The breakfast was regular but not bad.
Review 42:Very quiet beach. Other restaurants in walking distance. Next seveneleven is a little ride with the bike. But bikes and kajak are for free! The poolzone is perferct and there are even massage ladies around or being called.
Review 43:The room had an odour of sewage coming from the drain in the bathroom. It was quite unpleasant at times.
Review 44:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food from the restaurant was great, despite being a bit expensive. We really liked having the option of using the kayaks and bicycles. The pool was also top notch.
Review 45:- bed smell constantly coming from the bathroom - good furnitures but not comfortable bathroom (e.g. bad smell, WC in the shower) - pricy for what offers, in comparison with other structures - staff not very helpful, offering the most expensive solution (I asked them to call me a taxi with taximeter and I was given a transport 3 times more expensive sold by the hotel) - motorbikes cost 50% more than outside and they are given with no gasoline (since nobody will return the motorbike empty, I guess they take the gasoline out after every rent in order to make you buy expensive bottles in the close shop) - breakfast could be better with little effort (e.g. fruit) - I had the perception they try to take the most from you in terms of money without really caring, you are a tourist more than a guest
Review 46:- not crowded place on a small relaxing beach - good starting point to explore Samui - free kayaks
Review 47:Appalling quality of breakfast. Charge you $10 to take you about 2 miles to the ferry port in their hotel vehicle. Staff have very little skill in English, not their fault, so there will be errors with ordering and requests, etc. Somewhat noisy room (Garden #1), facing road.
Review 48:Convenience to ferry port. Nice beach. Small intimate feel. Very very helpful receptionist. Polite staff in general.
Review 49:Not clean in Family Room
Review 50:Kindness, Sea view
Review 51:Really enjoyed my stay - great staff and lovely bungalow
Review 52:Was all good!
Review 53:Really good food and staff and the rooms were so clean and modern
Review 54:The shower drain was blocked so when we showered the bathroom flooded.
Review 55:The staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful.
Review 56:The noise from the street.
Review 57:Great beach, beach sitting, food, romantic modern room, eager to help
Review 58:Wi Fi was great for first few days but poor for the final two days
Review 59:Location, atmosphere and staff all amazing
Review 60:very nice and helpfull staff, good breakfast
Review 61:very quiet location
Review 62:Best place to stay in Samui! Will definitely stay here next time.
Review 63:Nothing.
Review 64:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was excellent. Fabulous beach and pool. Enjoyed our stay there and would book again.
Review 65:A little bit off side.
Review 66:We loved the place but you need a motorbike.
