Reviews for Wine & Roses Hotel Restaurant Spa Lodi

Review 1:Broken glass on the floor of our bathroom. Very loud in the morning due to poor fitting of front door bottom to floor. Could hear housekeeping talking and golf carts. Overall accommodations good but not worth 250 dollars a night in the central valley.

Review 2:The restaurant was lovely and food was very good.

Review 3:Expect some black tea and a proper kettle to make a proper cut of tea. When the heater switched on, it was like a jet taking off in our room.

Review 4:Room clean, nice good loaction.

Review 5:It was a shame that the pool was not located near the gardens and main hotel building (you have to walk through the car park). In general I don't like music by the pool. I don't like to see caged birds - there are caged parakeets in the gardens.

Review 6:Large, spacious, room and bathroom, very comfortable. Lovely gardens. Restaurant served great food. Really helpful staff.

Review 7:Our room was simple but very nice. The bed was comfy and our room was clean and very well stocked with the essentials. We had a private patio which we loved! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered room service which was excellent! The property is very well maintained, quiet and serene. Pool and jacuzzi area was clean and stocked with plenty of towels and ice water. The only thing I would change is the fact that they only offer room service for dinner. Room service for breakfast would have made things perfect! Other than that our stay was perfect. Thank you Wine & Roses! -The Haddads

Review 8:Didn't like having the kids walk across a parking lot to get to the swimming pool.

Review 9:Friendly, helpful staff. Wine-country centrality. Great wine-tasting room. Excellent gym. VERY comfortable, spacious rooms.

Review 10:THE STAFF MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES ON OUR BILL. ALSO THEY WERENT HELPFUL WITH INFORMATION ON SERVICES AVAILABLE, OR RESTAURANT

Review 11:THE ROOM WAS VERY NICE, REALLY LIKED THE LOCATION OF THE ROOM CLOSE TO POOL.

Review 12:Buying breakfast and bring charged for regular price. It was rectified but took extra time and diligence on my part.

Review 13:The room and freshness of the grounds .

Review 14:Instead of driving 3 hours to the coast or mountains, we drove 5 minutes to W&R refreshed and arrived home refreshed after time at a excellent hotel.

Review 15:We weren't actually married but the staff peppered us with so many questions about our anniversary that we finally just went along with the whole married thing.

Review 16:Once we changed rooms, we were really happy with ours. We got a free bottle of wine for saying it was our anniversary. There was wine tasting, a spa, and a great restaurant on the premises. The staff were helpful and very friendly

Review 17:Great location in the Lodi valley, fertile wine country. The room was well furnished and very quiet. The staff was friendly and made very helpful suggestions. We will definitely return to this Inn and the Lodi wine country.

Review 18:NOTHING!

Review 19:Staff was amazing on all levels! Food in both the bar and restaurant were excellent. Service was really very attentive and the staff's recommendations were excellent.

Review 20:Hotel staff very friendly - lovely rooms, beautiful gardens good restauarant. Entertainment in the bar. Just a really good atmosphere and relaxing stay

Review 21:The property itself was nice, but sits right next to some ball fields. If you have a room on the side of the park nearest the fields (which we did), you'll get a lot of the noise from any games going on.

Review 22:The staff were very friendly and the rooms were awesome - very spacious, nicely decorated and with luxury amenities.

Review 23:Love it there for close to home get away ! Live in Davis so easy drive to an unbelievably beautiful and relaxing spot. Feel very safe staying there solo. Restaurant and spa both amazing.

Review 24:Pillows

Review 25:Restaurant food delicious

Review 26:No elevator to get up to our room.

Review 27:Beautiful grounds and landscaping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and comfortable room.

Review 28:Not a bad experience, but price was a little high.

Review 29:Room, spa, nearby Towne House Restaurant.

Review 30:The setting in beautifully tended garden and the service and quality of food in the restaurant.

Review 31:The setting is beautiful

Review 32:There are no comments available for this review

Review 33:Nothing with the exception it was difficult to locate my room from the map and the signage on the buildings.

Review 34:Everything including the talking patriots

Review 35:Bed was comfy

Review 36:Everything spa services outstanding

Review 37:The room was clean BUT when we were about to use the robe provided found the robe had "hash marks" on the inside, clearly this was the fault of the cleaning staff not paying attention to the robes that are provided. I immediately put it into the laundry. The room was clean but when we were about to use the robe provided noticed that there were "hash marks" on the inside of the robe.

Review 38:I wound up with a handicap accessible room and was not informed that I was receiving that room. Since I had stayed at the Wine and Roses before and know the bathtubs to be deep and roomy, I was disappointed, but survived!

Review 39:Beautiful peaceful and romantic setting. The onsite restaurant has a menu that rivals that of San Francisco's finer eateries, and delivers a great meal. The bar is warm and inviting, even had a pianist performing.

Review 40:Charge $ 5 more and Booking.com prise. Only like to do busness with peopel stick to the price. The GPS adress was in the midle of a wine field. Several peopel had problem findin the plase.

Review 41:The atmosfer and cosy outside area.

Review 42:Expensive, especially for the off season (January). Didn't go to the spa (don't remember being directed there, so perhaps it was closed?) Did find hot tub by pool so over-chlorinated we couldn't stay in it for more than 60 seconds as the steam burned our eyes. Restaurant was pricey, menu limited, food was ok, but not a highlight.

Review 43:very nice room, very comfortable bed. Quiet. Private. Fireplace and patio were a nice touch. Having the visitor center/tasting room right next to registration was great, as was Jeannie who not only poured wine, but was charming, enthusiastic, and made suggestions for places to go (our first trip to the Lodi wine country)

Review 44:I like a really firm mattress, and that's not what we got in the older hotel.

Review 45:We had an amazing stay. Food was great and on time. Our drinks were the same. We were able to view 2 different rooms and pick which one we liked best. The price of everything for those complaining is exactly what you pay at any upscale restaraunt . You get what you pay for, so if everything was great, as it was we definetly enjoyed our dinner and our stay.

Review 46:Facility and service was excellent! Couples massage was outstanding. Also, we needed to get through breakfast quickly both mornings, and the servers got us in and out within a half hour.

Review 47:Hubby has arthritis; I should have requested a downstairs room. ( That is totally my fault, not theirs.)

Review 48:Beautiful room. Loved listening to and seeing the waterfall through the doors to the balcony.

Review 49:I can't think of anything I did't like.

Review 50:We were at family wedding there. The grounds and garden's are wounderful. The food was excellent .Room's very nice.

Review 51:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 52:It was a delightful surprise to find such a lovely place in what we thought of as a 'small country-town' stopover. Everything about it was excellent & the evening lounge musical entertainment couldn't have been any better!

Review 53:That I only got to stay one night!

Review 54:So exceeded my expectations in every way! The facility was gorgeous, the restaurant could compete with almost anywhere in Napa or Bay Area, and the spa was truly first class! The staff was so welcoming and helpful - I enjoyed every moment of my stay there and will definitely return soon!

Review 55:We have stayed at Wine & Roses before and that is why we stayed there again on our trip to Lodi to visit family. Very peaceful settings and lovely rooms.

Review 56:Unfortunately their bar and restaurant was under staffed. We had a greatbartender the first night at bar but not as great on the second night asthey wanted to close up early. For breakfast, we had invited our friendsand had 24 people for breakfast and the service was so slow - althoughthey were so nice about it. They were clearly under staffed.

Review 57:I loved the rooms and the overall layout. In Lodi, they are clearlythe best hotel. We had other friends and relatives that stayed inother hotels and Wine and Roses was far ahead of any other hotel inthe Lodi area.

Review 58:I think the staff needs improvement. Our first mediocre experience wasat check-in when the very young employee gave us a lukewarm receptionand was fairly rude when I asked her about doing laundry (I had traveledfor a week). She wasn't willing to go the extra mile to locate adrop and wash laundromat for me, telling me, instead, that no place doesthat in Lodi (she was wrong). The second area of improvement was withhousekeeping. I didn't see any actual cleaning done on a daily basisand they even forgot to empty our trash cans that were fairly full.

Review 59:The room itself is lovely with great furnishings and a sereneatmosphere. The bathroom is super spacious and I loved the little patioout back. The gym was good enough and the restaurant was tasty. OverallI thought the grounds were lovely and it provided for a relaxing eveningafter working all day.

Review 60:The gardens are beautiful and evey room seemed to have a view of it. The room we got was extremely nice, very comfortable and beautifuly designed. They have a wine bar in the same complex, which was quite handy even though you should make sure they don't hve a special event during your stay. The food at the restaurant was very good but very expensive for what you got if you compare it to other fine Californian Restaurant.

Review 61:The accomodation was nice but I felt that if we had not got such a greatrate ($179.00) then it would have be overpriced. I feel if the rateswere more attractive then we would come back. We have looked at thisproperty over the last several years and the high rates are what kept usfrom booking.

Review 62:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner at the restaurantalthough pricey was exceptional! They had a great selection of wine andthe service was very good.

Review 63:The price was steep.....and the air conditioning made a strange sound all night.

Review 64:I loved the setting.....the room was modern, chic and fun! The restaurant had great food.....with decent service. I would stay here again. Great location near wineries.

Review 65:I was told the room had two queen size beds but it had two full sizebeds. Also, I noticed a dirt mark on the sheets of one of the beds.We ate dinner at the restaurant on site and while the ambiance was nice, our waitress was not very attentative or friendly. When you're paying for an expensive meal you expect excellent service and unfortunately we did not receive that. There was a wedding going on when we were there so the noise level was very loud. Not from the actual wedding but the people afterwards going back to their rooms and partying.

Review 66:The room was large and had a nice patio to sit and enjoy the scenery. The grounds were well kept and the front desk staff was very friendly.

Review 67:Check out is too early. If one wants to take advantage of the spa, fitness center or pool on the last day of the visit there is no room to return to since checkout is 11 am...yet check in isn't until 3 pm...since no other options are close by, you should offer an early quick breakfast such as fruit, muffins or yogurt to those that don't want to spend $20.

Review 68:The grounds and rooms are very appealing. The staff were friendly..including the owner & his wife..the dinner was amazing..though a bit pricey

Review 69:The price...the spa and food was reasonably priced, but I thought the room was a little over-priced

Review 70:The food, the spa, the room, the wine tasting...all amazing

Review 71:It doesn´t matter (for me) how good the hotel is, if they try do rip you on your money. When we check in, they told us that a "resort fee" should ad on our total price, confirmed from booking.com, ok, it was only 5%, but it didn´t feel right, we protest, and when we check out, they told us that the total price, should apply, right so, but it give us a negative feeling on our stay as I think that a "total price" is just what it says, nothing else!

Review 72:Se Minus

Review 73:Air con was noisy.

Review 74:Everything; staff, food, wine. Really high standard, as good as San Francisco.

Review 75:The garden atmosphere. All the trees, plants, fountains, animals. Just the special feeling of being in a calm, serene place.

Review 76:Nothing

Review 77:I love the fire place in our deluxe king room

Review 78:It was quiet.

Review 79:Room a bit dark.

Review 80:Spa and restaurant superb. Room spacious and comfy.

Review 81:I felt the price was too high based on the location

Review 82:Beautiful hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was great and the grounds are well kept

Review 83:restaurant a little too pricey.

Review 84:poolside was nice. good drink service from the bar. comfy rooms. nice views.

Review 85:The spa was closed for renovation and we werent aware until wechecked in.

Review 86:The room was beautiful and the restaurant was excellent.

Review 87:Loved the room and the pool area! Very relaxing. Just what we needed!!

Review 88:excellent on site restaurant

Review 89:It was expensive.

Review 90:It was a beautiful hotel surrounded with beautiful landscaping and near many Lodi wineries.

Review 91:Had some very noisy guests above us, but hotel took care of it

Review 92:The grounds were beautiful

Review 93:The food could use less salt and butter. Offer more vegan, raw, and organic food.

Review 94:beautiful surroundings, and the pool and spa are very nice.

Review 95:it was all very wonderful

Review 96:Room, grounds, wine tasting, music in lounge, great cocktails, dinner

Review 97:Lodi is a pretty flat, dry landscape and this property did an amazing job of creating a lush, jungle-like oasis. So peaceful.

Review 98:The room was fabulous as was the patio and the landscaping, very private!

Review 99:Beautiful Grounds and fantastic room. Liked the patio area.
