Review 1：If you don't hire a car, getting around this part of Portugal can be difficult. A local taxi from the complex to either Faro or the local airport will come to around €25 one-way, and it's best to book with the local companies direct. The company used by the complex charges €50 one-way. There is a local bus service that links to the nearest town of Almancil, but it only runs three times a day.

Review 2：We stayed in a large two-storey two-bedroom villa with two bathrooms, with the size of the villa a welcome surprise. It was a nice touch for the fridge to be stocked with water and milk, and the villa had more facilities than we could have expected. There was an unexpectedly wide range of TV channels available from around Europe, but especially from the UK and Ireland. Having a supermarket on site was an excellent addition, and the staff were very friendly. As we travelled in January, the accommodation was inexpensive. The apartment was clean. As well as the golf courses, just outside the complex there is a public mini-golf course, volleyball court and tennis courts.

Review 3：Although development empty we were given an apartment with a view of the bins whereas four doors down it would have been the golf course. The restaurant is closed between Jan-March. No free wifi.

Review 5：It was extremely hard to find your way to or out of the resort, with poor signage. Apartment was old and worn. Did not look anything like the pretty pictures on the internet. No free wifi.

The heating is through the air con so it can become very dry with the blowing air Prices for massages are like in a big city. Quinta do lago is very expensive in general compared to the rest of Portugal (restaurants are expensive...) Only three public busses a day to almancil

Review 17：Misleading information in brochure, it said there were 2 nature trails on the property, there weren't! TV missing from bedroom, apparently under repair and the main TV didn't work, no instructions given and reception just weren't interested. It's an area with just golf courses so to escape a car is needed; the bus to the beach runs infrequently and the walk would be quite long and along the road.

Review 18：Attractive, comfortable and well equipped villa. Pleasant surroundings and nice pool although I imagine it gets very crowded in high season. Restaurant was good, if a little more expensive than elsewhere. Small shop on site for basic provisions, including bread.

Review 19：After several attempts to change my booking for professional reasons before and during the period booked I am informed only on the last day (23th Sept) that it was not possible any change and that I was obliged to pay the referred booking. I regret the bad assistance particularly the lack of information given by such an entity that I always have considered excellent. Review 20：Maintenance should improve before giving the house. Fridge leaking water continuously. Oven very very dirty, could not be used. Cleanliness of the apartment also should be improved

Review 22：We stayed in a very clean and well appointed 1 bed appartment It was excellent and well worth the money. Staff very helpful. We hired bikes to enable us to see more of Quinta do Lagos which is a very upmarket area of the Algarve. The resort is well contained, and plenty to see and do in the area. It is an expensive part of Algarve so don't go if you want a budget holiday.

Review 23：The wi-fi has a cost ( didnt need because we have pt cellphones) and the safety box you have to pay 2 eur. per day to use it. Only payed for a safety on a premier inn, not at 4 star hotel...

Review 24：Nice location, the beach is awesome, despite being a little far away. Parking at the beach is payed, but the have a free bus from the reception. The villa is new, with all the amenities and kitchenware.

You need to drive first ca. 6 km from the resort to the nearest main road no matter you want to visit next nearest beach or village. Would be perfect destination if you like golf or staying at the resort rather than exploring nearby areas of Algarve.

Review 28：The house was super clean, spacious and equipped with all kitchen utensils. Also the pool area, spa, dining area were all very clean . People at Vilar do Golf were all super friendly and attentive to the guest's need. There is a shuttle service to the Quinta do Lago beach which is only 5 min by bus.

Review 31：The villa next-but-one was being refurbished so we had the sound of a pneumatic drill and banging from 9 till4 everyday apart from Sunday. We didnt hire a car as our intention was to stay on the resort most of the time. Also, on 1 of the nights there was a party going on until dawn from a villa on the other side of the lake and then again until 1am on another night. It was a real shame, as previously we had so enjoyed the peace and quiet of the resort it made us leave the resort and venture out to get away from the noise. In fairness, we were offered different accommodation but it was close to where we were staying so decided to stay put. Our villa was clearly next in line for renovation as there were door knobs missing and lights not working and just generally run down. We would still return though as we love the resort. and relax on the patio and just soak up the sun and birdsong. In fairness, we were offered another apartment after 4 days, but it was very close to the one we had and we did spend 2 days out so stayed put. Our accommodation had definitely seen better days and some of the lights weren't working, door knobs missing, sun beds damaged. I am guessing our villa was next on the list to be renovated. However, we did get a good price so can't complain too much.

Review 32：The staff are brilliant. They are always so helpful and will do anything to ensure you have a good holiday. A particular mention to the young man from eastern Europe who worked in the Birdie Lounge and Bobby Jones. The location of our villa was perfect. It was as far away from the reception area as you could get, overlooking part of the golf course. The grounds are always so well kept and it is a joy to hear the birdsong.

Review 33：Bathroom wasn't clean when we arrived. Sprinklers come on and soak the patio and outdoor seating in the late afternoon and at breakfast time (around 7 am. each morning).

Review 44：Like Ryanair the headline price is good but then you start paying for all the extras i.e. a towel to lie out at the pool is 4 euros, a key to the safety deposit in the villas is 2 euros per day and the safe is very small and holds very little, to use the internet in the room beside reception is 20 euros per hour. You have to pay to use the indoor pool, the sauna, the jacuzi and the gym. I do not know how much the above cost as we did not use them. You are not allowed use inflatables in the pool aswell which upset out kids. You are not allowed to move your sunbed to follow the sun after it sets in the area where the sunbeds are all located even though there was one hour of sun at the far end of the pool but we were not allowed move there. The only stations on the TV are news and sport... no sky TV at all and nothing for the kids to watch. Reception staff were very abrupt and not very helpful. The restaurant is overpriced and not very comfortable.

Review 45：The location was excellent from a golf point of view and the basic price seemed very good when we booked but ...

Review 46：Paying taxi to get there as in a remote location NO bus service to this place. So had to pay for a taxi to do anything like go to a reasonable supermarket or even get to Faro. The closest town is Almancil where you may see any life. Still costs 11 euros each way and 26 euros to faro each way. So with kids not ideal as money wasted on taxis to get HOME.

Am when they went out. We complained to reception, who were very helpfully, and moved us to a different block, where it was peaceful. Was not villas fault. I blame the parents for not having consideration for other guests.

Review 58：Location, clean, good club house Friendly staff, After the small noise problem, on day one, which staff sorted out. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there next time we go to portugal.

Review 60：Stayed at Vila do Golf for 4 nights so that we could see the BMWJunior golf championship at Quinta do Lago South ( the 1st tee of this championship course is within 50 yards !) and the Portugese Masters at Vilamoura. Good choice, Comfortable villa, with everything we wanted for 4 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to others, and we would go back to the Vila do Golf again. Used both the on site 'Bobby Jones' restaurant and pool snack bar, both good. PS We particularly liked the fluffy pillows !
