Reviews for The Inn at Deep Canyon

Review 1:The office staff could not explain an extra charge on my credit card. They said that they could not find the charged amount on their records. I think I know what it was for, but, it would have been nice if Ms. Torres explained it to me, but, she didn't.

Review 2:Everything. I like my big room, the beautiful area outside with the swimming. The location is great, with several places to eat nearby, 2 supermarkets, a bus stop just across the street, This hotel is a gem!

Review 3:Parking was limited.

Review 4:Spacious , beautifully appointed room with a large dressing room and a spotless bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and we were well rested. The breakfast was a surprise as it was quite varied and was kept fully supplied. Management was gracious and very friendly.

Review 5:thank you for allowing pets. I travel with my sister and we have two small dogs and felt very welcomed and comfortable! Also you are right around the corner from our extended family. No more sleeping on the couches!

Review 6:The Inn is tired...needs renovation...beds are tired....just all of it has been used for 10 yrs longer than sensible

Review 7:Weather was good...that is about all

Review 8:Parking was very limited. We had to park on street. People in next room kept their T.V. on all night - when I called the posted number for assistance, there was a voice message. The issue never was resolved. Staff later apologized and said I would receive a partial refund for the inconvenience. I'm waiting to see a refund.

Review 9:Staff was responsive. Room was well equipped and neat. Facilities were accessible.

Review 10:Zip

Review 11:The location is excellent. The facility is nice with a convenient pool and hot tub. The trees are great and are a neat dessert experience. It's not a big multi-storied facility. And it's clean.

Review 12:There really wasn't anything I didn't lilke.

Review 13:What I liked most was the comfortable bed. I didn't want to get out of it and decided to miss the continental breakfast to get more sleep time.

Review 14:This gem is just a great throwback to the 70's or maybe the 60's. A great pool, large room, secluded from traffic noise and right in the middle of the beautiful hwy. 111 route from Palm Springs to Coachella.

Review 15:Beware! When I checked out, they told me I had made 2 reservations, and charged me an extra night for a no-show. They never told me this 3 days before when I called in to check on the reservation. I only had confirmation of 1 reservation, had never made 2. The person at the desk was very nice, but called and left a message after we left that the manager was charging for a second reservation. Not right.

Review 16:The toilet leaked, so there was water on the bathroom floor. The room was not sound proofed well. We heard all of the noise from the pool, and the steps went right next to/above the room, so it was very loud every time someone used them. Perhaps another room would have been quieter...but it got in the way of relaxation.

Review 17:The staff was wonderful, the room was spacious, they gave us an upgrade.

Review 18:Felt like I was living the 50's w/popcorn ceiling and all. Floors were really dusty all over. The mini-refer was almost falling out of the cubby, needs to be secured. Would be nice to have a light near the mini-refer & microwave.

Review 19:The bed was extremely comfortable and the place was quiet. Sylvia the housecleaner was great at displaying the towels fashionably along with the toilet paper and kleenex, very nice touches!

Review 20:Business office was nice for computer and printing, but it does close at 8 pm. Not a problem for me, but just keep in mind.

Review 21:Small intimate unique property, friendly, and good location close to stores, restaurants, etc. Only 3.5 miles from Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and way cheaper than the large resorts that others stayed at. The advertised "continental" breakfast was more than that. Sitting at a table by the pool enjoying breakfast was a nice treat. Staff was very nice and accommodating I called ahead to check on the bed, and was assured it had been replaced a year ago, and it was great!

Review 22:Too far out of town, run down, bedrooms 22/23 right on roadside, noisy throughout the night. kitchen area rundown and sink blocked up. Bathroom smelly and way old. WI-FI almost unusable.

Review 23:This place will spilt people down the middle; if your 20-35 its shabby chic if your 35-65 its run down. Everything is there, TV, AC, Coffee machine, fridge etc but the fixtures and fittings are old and way past it. The owner is great and honest, its cheap and that's why its the way it is. If you want something more modern and up market, don't stay here. Its more a one night experience. Take it for what it is and its "interesting"

Review 24:I can't say anything bad about my stay,it was a great experience.I will be returning for another stay.

Review 25:The overall comfort of the room. The layout of the room was good.

Review 26:The only window was a French door. No way to get air into the room except to leave it open. With the drapes open there was NO privacy. Not quite enough parking.

Review 27:An inexpensive alternative to the luxury hotels. Good as a home base if you're out all day.

Review 28:Can honestly say there is nothing here that I didnt like

Review 29:what's not to like... Quiet area, great pool, soft beds, clean rooms, and friendly staff... This place is amazing.

Review 30:The room was very old needing lots of attention. It wasn't all that clean. Desk light did not work and there was no paper to jot notes.

Review 31:The staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Location was good.

Review 32:the breakfast could have had a better selection

Review 33:We loved the location on however central it is to all of the amenities in the valley. We loved that the pool and spa are open 24 hours so that when we put the kids to bed we could have the time to ourselves.

Review 34:Could improve on the breakfast alittle. The pastries aren't very good and needs more fresh fruit.

Review 35:It was pretty quite so you could just relax and enjoy sitting out by the pool. The people who work there are so helpful and kind.

Review 36:We were there Sun. night. Might be more crowded on weekends?

Review 37:Had room overlooking pool - 2nd floor with semi-private balcony. Had nice continental breakfast on outdoor patio.

Review 38:Location to shops, restaurants and activities is awesome! Room had new fixtures and very clean. Pool is nice, too! If you need a place to stay in Palm Desert, The Inn at Deep Canyon is worth a look!

Review 39:Shower head needed replacement. Though quite spacious the rooms could be cleaner. To be specific the throw rugs & balcony area. The mattress's were too firm. New blankets needed (too worn).

Review 40:The location was excellent. Starbucks across the street perfect. The pool was very nice. Staff very nice & helpful.

Review 41:we loved our stay. we were upgraded to larger accomodations when we arrived. we loved the heated 24 hour pool and jaccuzi also the bar b ques and tables outside. the complimentry breakfast and coffee was nice. This is a small cozy friendly property. It is older but clean charming and warm. The staff remembered me when i called about booking extras for our next stay I

Review 42:No real bad experience.could have done with a kettle in room for hot drinks. There was a coffee maker, spoons etc would be helpful, I'm sure if I had asked tho they would have sorted it for us

Review 43:Friendly, had all the basics, rom was cleaned every day and fresh linen. Renee and staff very helpful and so friendly

Review 44:A little too far off beaten path, but it was quiet.

Review 45:Inn was very comfortable with nice room and furnishings. Chair sat great, my team won the ballgame, and bed slept comfy.

Review 46:Staff not overly friendly. At 06:15, as I was checking out, I ran the bell at the door of the reception. No answer. I dialed the "on call" number and got a message to the effect that the voice mail for that number had not been set up.... I was just trying to let them know a loose dog was patrolling the grounds, and I had the hardest time preventing him from escaping as I was carrying my luggage to the parking lot! A little unsettling... Also the bathroom sink was partially plugged.

Review 47:Not a typical hotel room. Ours had french doors, and a cheerful color theme. The place was well heated. Clean.

Review 48:Other guests noisy. Guests dogs barking at night. Only a telephone number at night for assistance after 6 pm. Toilet was blocked and the maintenance staff are limited.

Review 49:Staff were extremely helpful. They moved us straight away when we had a plumbing problem. Breakfast is good and location is easy to find.

Review 50:The facility is a bit dated but that wasn't really a problem for us.

Review 51:It is a charming place. I liked the courtyard & pool facilities. The room was large, clean and had a good bed with nice bedding. It had a fireplace and large windows.

Review 52:my room was a sister room to another (door that could open to both rooms) and the noise easily came into my room. if you don't have your key with you, don't go outside; if your door shuts, it's locked

Review 53:staff was friendly at check in. all information I would need was covered before I left the office

Review 54:Old hotel that could use some touch up paint (especially in the bathroom area). Missing mirror on bathroom door.

Review 55:Great price and dog friendly. Only $10 per night charge for dog. Other hotels in the area were asking much more. The pool was clean and felt very good after a day of warm weather

Review 56:My room 103 was under stairway with no view or personal patio all othersseem to have. Very noisy as next to entry gate.Continental breakfast notserved til 8am. Deadbolt only halfturn and no security lock or evacinfo. Full length mirror removed and area not repainted. While there isan emergency nbr, the office is only open 8-5 or I would have voiced myconcerns in person requesting compensation

Review 57:Comfortable bed

Review 58:There is absolutely nothing I did not like about the Deep Canyon Inn! It may be an antiquated building to others, but I loved it...

Review 59:Everything! A refrigerator with top freezer and a small freezer as well! Stove Top Burners, coffee maker, toaster, kitchen cabinets, mini dining table, plentyof closet space! I was able to shop and utilize kitchen facilities, keep gatorade, water, and fruits very very cold....air conditioning, vent air for bathroom.... 24 hr pool.....unbelievable! About 14 miles from Palm Springs and 10 miles out to Indio and Joshua Tree National Park about, as a Bicylist and someone who wishes they had a pool and not into the party scene, this is a Great Secret Hideaway in Palm Desert!!!!! The Building maybe somewhat antiquated, but I will always return here, as my place, when in Palm Springs!!!!!
