Reviews for Monte Da Quinta Resort

Review 1:Not the hotel fault they was no wedding... But hotel gave me so much support I was very sad but the support received was excellent.

Review 2:The surprise they gave me our room set as honey moon couple Truly Beautiful

Review 3:Maybe it was the time of year that we were there but needed beter links into nearest towns. Either a shuttle service from hotel.

Review 4:The quality of the accommodation was excellent and the staff were helpful. It was ideal for the family.

Review 5:Restaurant smaller this year and couldn't get a table on a couple of occasions. Our room had a problem with the air conditioning and ants. Mentioned both twice and problem wasn't resolved. On the morning we were leaving we were overrun with ants. Mentioned it on check out and were told 'we must be sweet' not helpful.

Review 6:Great location, friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast very good.

Review 7:Ever so quiet. Went out the first 2 nights because there were no guests in the public areas.

Review 8:The reception staff and the breakfast waiter were great. Staff in Spa were fantastic.

Review 9:The indoor pool only available for children from 9am to 2pm is too restrictive when you need to entertain your children during a winter break. Consider to increase the opening hours.

Review 10:We are just back from Algarve and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast selection was excellent and the facilities/location exactly what we were looking for in a short break.

Review 11:Although it is a five star hotel. You expect to pay more for drinks but I thought 9.80 euros for a vodka and soda was over the top. There is no need to charge this amount, and the hotel would probably make more in the bar if it was reasonably priced drinks.

Review 12:Great place to stay to relax and be pampered. Rooms are large and well equipped. Lovely outside pool area and spa. Breakfast was very good too with a large variety of food to suit all tastes. Had an evening meal in the restaurant and really enjoyed that too although quite expensive. Overall a very pleasing stay, and I will definitely visit again.

Review 13:The spa is disappointing. The treatments are overpriced and not carried out very well. The massage itself was not carried out correctly and the masseuse talked all the way through it. Annoying! Especially as the purpose of our trip was to relax and pamper ourselves for the weekend. We ended up leaving the hotel to look for a massage elsewhere.

Review 14:The suites are very comfortable and the staff are helpful and polite.

Review 15:The effort the whole hotel and staff went to for Halloween night 2015. A great night for all the family. In particular the lady in the kids room running the evening event and doing the facepainting was fantastic..a talent with children.

Review 16:Having to wait for room to be serviced late into the day. The mattresses were a little too firm which made it uncomfortable and not as restful as in previous times there

Review 17:the facilities within the suite allowed for flexability. How helpful the staff were to guests.

Review 18:Indoor pool cold. Restaurant food very poor choice mainly steak which you can have anywhere. Underground carpark a nightmare scraped our car because of incredibly narrow turns. Only given 3 wifi logins for 4 people.

Review 19:Excellent spacious well appointed suite. Really great breakfast with very large choice. Luxurious public rooms.

Review 20:We struggled to find any negatives, if we had to pick some they would be... You had to go looking for towels in the mornings The indoor pool wasn't always that warm The downstairs carpark is so tight to get around it can be really difficult with a long car The restaurant is fine but it would be nice if they had a more luxury option

Review 21:Luxury hotel, amazing facilities, great breakfast with lots of choice, lovely spacious rooms and great value for money! Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it!!

Review 22:Reception was consistently understaffed with fairly long queues for check out and other queries. It seems odd that the primary reception doubles as a concierge desk with folk doing golf bookings etc while others are checking in and out. Took me almost 30 minutes to settle the tab which is too long when one has a flight to catch.

Review 23:Great rooms, great location, friendly staff

Review 24:The music at the pool. So hard to relax.

Review 25:A beautiful 2 bedroom suite. Amazing staff. A lovely complex with spa and indoor and outdoor pools. Very good buffet breakfast.

Review 26:Pool was cold and children after a few minutes had blue lips, very slippery on the edge of the pool. Very hard beds - can see many not finding this very comfy!! Bad problem with ants in our room ... They were everywhere!! Did the job for us but couldn't see us spending a week there with just one pool .. Think we'd get bored.

Review 27:Excellent location to Faro airport. We only stayed two nights before departing for The Martinhal resort in Sagres. We stayed with two small children and there were lots of highchairs at breakfast and there was plenty of space in our room. Didn't eat in any of the restaurants for dinner but breakfast was really good, not sure 5 star however. Efficient check in staff. Really spacious and well appointed two bed suite. We had a sunset room so the view wasn't much over the car park. Liked the complimentary drinks in the fridge on arrival. Friendly and helpful staff and wifi good. Nice to have three bathrooms ;)

Review 28:Some of the staff on reception were very unhelpful.

Review 29:The spa was amazing only had one treatment but would gave loved more. The breakfast was very good - everything you could wish for.

Review 30:The lighting in the suite is awful for reading and the beds are rather hard.also don't like the sand around the pool area and terrace.

Review 31:The staff were excellent and although the breakfasts were not as good as previous years they were still good.

Review 32:Bar staff were slow serving and clearing tables etc but were friendly so was hard to complain

Review 33:Good 4-5 star standard. Staff very friendly. Suite was nice.

Review 34:The bed was rather unusually hard. The bedside lights are so dim and useless it is impossible to read in bed.

Review 35:The suite was spacious and very well equipped. The pool area is lovely. The bar is very friendly and the dinner was excellent.

Review 36:This is the second time we've stayed at Monte Da Quinta Resort. Both times the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The resort is well kept and the suite is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The kids club is flexible and the staff are great. We'll be returning again.

Review 37:Quite remote - taxi's needed to go everywhere. (expensive) Not actually a resort despite being marketeed as one! Service extremely slow at the bar. Definitely not 5 star luxury, standards or service.

Review 38:Staff had to work extremely hard as there wasnt enough of them. Nice pool area.

Review 39:Pool side refreshments very expensive. A lot of small children at the pool. Very much a family hotel which isn't great when you have to listen to other people's children all day.

Review 40:Perfect hotel, excellent staff. Spotless.

Review 41:lunch was a bit restrictive on choice given my wheat intolerance. Pool service was somewhat lacking

Review 42:Rooms, very spacious and comfortable, breakfast adequate, were able to accommodate my wheat intolerance with gluten free bread. Relaxed atmosphere around the pool. Staff very friendly and welcoming

Review 43:We had one very poor meal in the pool bar - the prawns and calamari were very disappointing for the price, however the previous night we had a fantastic meal of sashimi from the restaurant, so perhaps it was just an off day.

Review 44:We were there with a 2 year old and the children's facilities were great. The children's play area, was great although it would have been better it is was all covered from the sun and some of the playhouses needed some repair. However, our little boy was very happy, which in turn made us happy.

Review 45:Prices of drinks - even water - are double what they're available for locally - on principle we left the hotel - if they were more reasonable we'd have stayed at the pool - also too many kids running around a fairly deep pool - to be fair this is the parents fault but I would have thought the kids would have wanted to be at the kids clubs

Review 46:Breakfast

Review 47:Staff generally brilliant with few rude staff-always find one or two men each year at reception really really rude and unhelpful. Beds sooo uncomfortable. When you call reception to make a request we found, this time, nothing happened! This was super frustrating for us and really weird!

Review 48:Loads of space in rooms, ground floor is probably best floor. Location amazing and hotel looks lovely and overall really lovely staff and friendly and helpful. Highlight were the staff in kids club-unbelievable and extremely well run.

Review 49:The lighting in the hotel. Corridors were dark and lighting in rooms/balcony poor, not helped by dark furniture. Used shower in toilets by pool and there was no light in shower - once sensors went off in toilets I was plunged into pitch blackness which was dangerous and unacceptable. Too many young children despite term started in UK - was very noisy in breakfast room with kids screaming and running around. Pool full of inflatables even though it said they were not permitted Not enough staff - only one poor lady having to make poached eggs, omelettes, pancakes and fried eggs - caused longer waits than necessary. Also had to wait 15 minutes in outside bar to get any service Toiletries were not replenished throughout 8 day stay even though they had been used - not acceptable for a 5 star hotel Plastic sheet on bed was noisy and uncomfortable and not expected for this quality of hotel - we removed it

Review 50:The size of the Suites was excellent - lounge, bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. We had requested a mattress topper in advance based on previous reviews about hard beds and was pleased this was made up on arrival Good breakfasts Lovely pool Good underground free parking Wifi throughout hotel

Review 51:The bed was extremely hard and I had to report blocked sink and shower. The décor of communal areas was lovely but the rooms were decorated in autumnal colours and stripes, not to my taste. Paid around £225 per night for one bed suite which was excessive.

Review 52:Lovely staff and communal areas were large bright and airy

Review 53:Was no slippers in a room, during two day stay 3times it was no any water from a tap or shower, complimentary drinks was not refilled. In general it changed too less quality comparing to my visit two years ago. Early check in was not possible even booked before.

Review 54:Good location, nice service, quiet, comfortable and clean rooms, quite good wifi

Review 55:I really liked the fact there there was a small modern kitchen area, and two bathrooms in the suite. I am gluten free and dairy free and the breakfast selection was excellent. Gluten free bread, and soya milk available.

Review 56:The Hotel is welcoming, clean and efficient. The facilities are well managed and comfortable even if the pool can become a little crowded. Breakfasts were well prepared and delivered, the grill area for an evening meals has excellent waiting staff and the chefs provided beautiful meals.

Review 57:Beds were very hard and make sleeping uncomfortable Lobby was full of fake flowers and plants which was a shame because the building lobby is really nice with stunning planting features

Review 58:Hotel staff were excellent the outside terrace in the evenings was really lovely - lights /mood and entertainment

Review 59:Not enough sunbeds for all the guest around the pool when the hotel is busy and there were more unoccupied with towels on than occupied with people on.

Review 60:Staff were really pleasant and helpful and the satellite TV channels available were good. The food was of a very good standard and the local beach was really nice.

Review 61:Inadequate choice on the Dinner Menu. Bar service could be improved. Please take down the sign at Reception which says, "you choose the fish, we cook it". This is simply not true as the fish portion you receive is inadequate. Overall, this is an excellent 4 star hotel, not 5 star yet

Review 62:The amazing choices at Breakfast and the Excellent attitude by Staff

Review 63:Minor gripe, but the bed was too hard & pillows too soft & small. It was also two singles pushed together (rather than a double). Bar prices are very high for spirits.

Review 64:Staff & facilities excellent. Amazing breakfast!

Review 65:I missed the facility of the shop in which to buy drinks and water etc for the fridge. It was difficult to spend €4.90 on a bottle of water at the bar each time!

Review 66:The staff were very friendly and so helpful. The breakfast was magnificent.

Review 67:You need a car really to stay here. It's quite a walk to the restaurants etc and taxis are quite pricey when you're on a return trip each night!

Review 68:Lovely clean and spacious suite. Staff are helpful.

Review 69:Very limited menu at the hotel, not enough sun loungers for the amount of people that were there, rooms are in need of TLC (shower leaked, basin was blocked & smelly, floors were dirty. Not enough staff for a five star resort.

Review 70:Good location

Review 71:The food certainly doesn't deserve 5 stars, nor does the service.

Review 72:Our room was very spacious and clean. Loved having a small kitchenette, separate living area and two bathrooms!

Review 73:Food is very disappointing for a five star hotel! Room not cleaned very well, with coffee, tea etc. not replaced without asking. Hairdryer not working, nor light over shower.

Review 74:Good location. Suites great size, and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful

Review 75:Nothing

Review 76:From the massive wave pictures and the synchronised palm trees as you enter the foyer you are treated to a dazzling display of modern art throughout the complex most of which is stunning. Everything oozes class here from the bamboo trees lining the corridors to the giant chess sets on the terrace. We had a self catering suite for the same as we'd expect to pay for a regular room complete with shower and bath and a TV with attached decoder allowing the viewing of hundreds of european channels. And the disabled adapted bathroom was pefect for a wheelchair....To cap it all it was my birthday and after we complained that the disabled bay was used by a normal car the management brought a bottle of excellent wine to our room as a gesture of goodwill complete with a hand written Happy Birthday card....absolutely delightful !!!

Review 77:Too many children but not their fault as we did travel during Half Term

Review 78:Staff and accommodation. The staff was very switched on and friendly and the accommodation was great with plenty of space. Good value for money even in the main holiday time

Review 79:The bar by the pool was very expensive and wifi would not connect for very long.also the beds are not comfortable.

Review 80:Excellent staff who were helpful and friendly. Kids club were fantastic and we loved the pool. Overall a very enjoyable stay and will go back.

Review 81:IHad a good time but a few things to call out. We stayed almost a week but many things don't get replaced during the stay - in some ways it's better to check in and check out a few times to get what you need. Simole things like sugar for tea was not replaced. We cooked a lot in the apt - we had to ask for clean tea towels halfway through our trip. They often did not vacuum the room - we had to ask for it. The breakfast was not cooked with love at all - everything bland and overcooked. Better off going to buy your fresh produce and cook and prepare things for yourself in the morning - it will taste a lot better.

Review 82:I have just returned from a fabulous 10 days at this hotel with my husband and three children aged 11, 6 & 6. We had such a wonderful time! We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite, room 502, overlooking the front of the hotel. The suite was huge and beautifully decorated, and the balcony was also huge! The location of this suite was ideal because firstly it was facing the sun at the end of the day so perfect for sun downer drinks on the balcony, and also it was away from the outdoor eating area at the back of the hotel and associated noise, ie chatter and entertainment, as well as cigarette smoke from those who felt the need to light up of an evening! The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, a good selection at the buffet breakfast of cereals, yogurts, fruit, full cooked breakfast, eggs anyway you like, toast, pastries. Lunchtime at the pool was also great, some really lovely salads if you want something light, or pasta, burgers, toasted sandwiches, fish n chips etc etc. We didn't eat there for dinner but other people told us it was great then too. The kids club was brilliant, my 6 year olds were in there every day, they adored Susana and Martha, the two girls who ran the club. It is right next to the pool so they could pop in whenever they wanted, and if they wanted to come out one of the girls would bring them to us. They had a different activity on every day, and even my 11 year old went a couple of times, although it is really for the younger ones I'd say. The location is beautiful, so clean and well kept, in the middle of some stunning golf courses. There is a supermarket approx 10 min walk away, and Quinta Shopping (shops, bars & restaurants) about half hour walk away. There is also the beach in the other direction but we didn't go there as we were fine by the pool! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday! We will definitely be going back!

Review 83:Bed was a bit too firm, all out party agreed and restaurant service is too slow but anna was very doing her very best

Review 84:Pool area was amazing, staff were lovely, spa treatments were excellent, room 139 was perfect

Review 85:Beds are not very comfortable. Would benefit from a communal safe playground for kids (swings, slides etc). Pool water is very very cold.

Review 86:Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Great pool facilities. Very clean

Review 87:Staff all friendly but service in the evening for dinner was frustratingly slow. In the end left without signing for a bill and staff apologised next day. There are some better places for lunch and dinner nearby or just five minutes in a taxi.

Review 88:Just 25 minutes from the Airport, intimate pool area with catering close by. Fantastic Spa, which is quite underplayed in the marketing. Going in May it was very quiet. Surrounding golf courses and hotels made location look very classy. Hotel only offers suites so every room has a kitchen. The one bedroom room still has two bathrooms.

Review 89:Had room 152. Could not sleep because of noise from air conditioning unit. the Recepionist on duty promised to phone me when the room was ready for occupancy and she never did,she told me she tried five times, this was a lie.

Review 90:clean as normal dining room staff good (especially luis)

Review 91:We payed 3 times the price our friends paid for the same trip, it seems the prices fluctuate A-LOT depending on when you book so wait until they come down before you book!

Review 92:we liked the spacious property and apartment

Review 93:The food after breakfast was restricted and expensive. The choice was poor , arrived cool and had small portions. This is outlying from the expectation of the general standards.

Review 94:Great hotel and helpful staff

Review 95:The lighting has been changed for harsh white LED's throughout thehotel which has taken away some of the magic this hotel once had. Alsothe LED's are all malfunctioning. Spa needs to be looked afterbetter, it's dirty and in need of a little tlc, food and drink isvery expensive.

Review 96:Breakfast, Gym, size of rooms, outdoor patio at the back of theproperty.

Review 97:The hotel and staff were attentive and helpful at all times. Excellent facilities and the rooms are immaculate, would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Review 98:Ground floor suite had lots of unpleasant and awful noises from people "running" in the above floor and lots of noises of staff cleaning it, moving furniture, etc.

Review 99:Location, spacious suite

Review 100:I didn't like the fact that they made us sign various pieces of paper but did not make us aware at the time of signing that if we lost the plastic card that opens room door, they would charge £30 to our credit card! I think this is bad business & underhand and frankly there is no need to do this!

Review 101:Suite we had was lovely with complimentary drinks in fridge, but when we looked there was only one beer!

Review 102:There are unclear noises from the ceiling every 10-15 seconds and that looks very dangerous for me. New building, so maybe it's a builders error. Staff was searching for my reservation for 15-20 minutes. Not polite, no helpful with anything - not what you should expect in 5-stars facilities. Probably that's because management company is very poor (I stayed with them in Austria previously and they offer really poor service). A men on the breakfast is very impolite, aggressive and looking on every piece of food you take with you..... Yes - he is there to save money, but NOT for 5-stars resort!!! WiFi wasn't as fast as you could expect.

Review 103:Location is OK, hotel is new and apartments quite big.

Review 104:I thought hotel was brilliant staff v accommodating and helpful breakfast lovely, only thing that I was disappointed was the weather as we were only there for four days.

Review 105:The price of the drinks in the bar were a touch too pricey. Having said that the bar was very nice and the bar staff very good too.

Review 106:We found everything excellent. The staff were so helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Review 107:Very attentive staff, spacious, comfortable, clean and nicely decorated apartment. Beautiful grounds and relaxing spa. Quinta do lago development is beautiful and great for relaxing holidays. Plenty of safe parking.

Review 108:The British male golfing groups who thought it is alright to turn up for breakfast in swinging trunks and white bathrobes one day and dripping with sweat after a gym session another day. Also being threatened to be charged 60 euro because we couldn't find the bath towel cards was outrageous! Luckily I did find them in the end.

Review 109:Friendly staff

Review 110:Was previously superb, now definitely gone down market! Tv didn't work, no hot water in one shower, safe required repair, kitchen equipment reduced. Breakfast not nearly as good as under previous ownership.

Review 111:Suite comfortable.

Review 112:When i arrived to the room i found a menu saying that we could ask some food but when i tried to call to order some food i didn't get any answer. I called to the receptionist and he told me that the menu its only available at summer. I felt very bad because i was paying for a 5 stars Hotel and it's unbelievable that we need to go out of the Hotel around 1o'clock to get some food.

Review 113:The staff is food and comfort is nice aswell

Review 114:We had ants in the bathrooms, the bedroom (also in our bed) and the living room. The Staff failed to get rid of them

Review 115:Nice location with nice staff and good facilities.

Review 116:No particular complaint.

Review 117:Easily found.Good parking. Excellent reception. Rather opulent surroundings. Bar food good with similar service. Breakfast good too.

Review 118:Cleanliness and comfort of hotel. Breakfast was lovely, nothing to be desired. Staff very helpful. We enjoyed wonderful sunshine there and it was January.

Review 119:New decoration downgrade on several items used control cards for everything toilet amenities pool bar closed lack of towels in the pool

Review 120:Size of suites Gym

Review 121:menu offered on reveillon dinner was stark and limited (3 course meal for 4 hours is stretching it a bit too much). There could me more variety of fruit offerings / food at breakfast. Algarve has excellent pastries and local foodstuffs to offer - offering greater variety would make this a truly unforgettable experience.

Review 122:Excellent accomodations, lovely suite, excellent value for money. Breakfast was very good.

Review 123:I really did not like some of the decoration - blue chairs in the bar for ex.... The bedside lamps could do with some stronger bulbs!

Review 124:I enjoyed the location, near the beach, parking facilities, size and confort of the apartments. Very professional, excellent spa!

Review 125:I expect that little bit more in a 5 star hotel, in general with exception of the rooms I would rate the hotel 4 stars. Breakfast was very good but standard and you have to pay 3.90 if your prefer a cappucino instead of the terrible koffie in a can, in most hotels this is a free service. Indoor pool was very cold!!! In a Spa this should be a lot more cosy. One small Jacuzzi, second one was broken. General impression of Spa was quiet poor.

Review 126:Nice location Beautifull rooms friendly staff

Review 127:Nothing !

Review 128:Location - very central, on main road in quinta & easy to get to golf, shopping, beach, restaurants & bars. Lovely reception which adjoins the bar & from there exits to patios & pool area. Super efficient & friendly staff. Car is advisable. Luxury 1 bed suite with 2 bathrooms. Food also very good

Review 129:The toiletries in the bathrooms have been changed in the last 12 months and not for the better. There was no shower gel at all in the shower adjacent to the living area.

Review 130:This was the fourth time we have stayed here and the hotel and staff have always been very good.

Review 131:The spa - jacuzzi was not in use and the indoor pool despite saying it was heated was too cold to swim in. I was disappointed with this as I had chosen somewhere with indoor pool as it is too cold to swim in outdoor ones at this time of the year. There is little information in the rooms eg restaurant menu, what you can do, are the drinks in the fridge complimentary? Din't want to keep asking staff.

Review 132:The whole ambience of the place is quality. The rooms are very well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff couldn't be more polite or helpful. Will definitely return.

Review 133:Couldn't say a bad word about the place - loved it!

Review 134:I loved everything about the Hotel, could not fault it. Staff couldn't do enough for us, always so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend it to all, they have everything you need.

Review 135:New dinner menu poor. Not enough choice and no alternative in bar. Lunch food poor. Why remove the mobiles and replace them with plastic in the foyer. Do not change for sake of change.Ask the occupational workers for their opinion you will learn. It is a great facility don't ruin it.

Review 136:Front of house and Restuarant staff attentive and most helpful.

Review 137:Notting

Review 138:Everything just needed a break to relax and this was it!! Great location a short Walk to the beech( 10min ) hired a couple of bikes at the hotel, had great food at gg's on the beech. Just had a great holiday.

Review 139:lovely size - everyone should have a topper as standard friendly staff ,relaxing and easy with children

Review 140:Like concrete to sleep on no pack of dining times and events ongoing lacking attention to detail get bed mattressses in each night so they are not damp in the morning !!
