Reviews for The Timbers Hotel

Review 1:Some of the rooms seem to have maintenance issues. I asked for a different room because the one we were originally put in had a leak from the bathroom faucet and the door did not close which did not allow for privacy. My son also asked for a different room because he tried to open the curtains and it all fell. I didn't think feel very secure in the first room with it being on the first floor, on the back side where the gate was open and anyone could have come through without being noticed. The first night there, the fire alarm went off several times and the fire department had to be called out to turn it off. We were never given a reason as to what set it off.

Review 2:The cleanliness was awesome!

Review 3:The only bad thing was the sofa bed mattress was uncomfortable. Felt the springs a bit.

Review 4:Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.

Review 5:The front desk attendant wasn't very helpful

Review 6:The bartender Renee I think her name is was very very nice and genuine. I missed my flight on a Friday night and was so bored so in went down to the hotel restaurant, so glad I did. Great experience.

Review 7:Website said there was a shuttle to and from the airport. Waited at the airport called the hotel to be told no shuttle and the website was wrong. Asked about the shuttle to the soccer game when I arrived as was told I needed a 4 hour advance notice. Not worth the extra $80.00 taxi fees.

Review 8:It is a shame that management has let this property decline as much as it has. It is a great old property with a lot of character but the grounds were terribly overgrown, one of the brick pillars at the entrance appears to have been hit. Not sure how steady it is as it appears to be crooked. Big gaping cracks round the brick. The room was clean but there are cracks in the ceiling and floor. Plastic furniture on the patios that have probably never been cleaned. We noticed dust and debris inside of a picture (not sure how that happened). The entire hotel could use some tender loving care.

Review 9:The lobby was nice (and deceiving) and the woman at the staff were pleasant.

Review 10:unhelpful staff, no information provided in room, "room service" non-existent, had to walk to restaurant to pick up food while ill.

Review 11:High ceilings

Review 12:This place is a complete dump. It smells, we had holes in the doors, exposed wiring, microwave sounded like it was going to blow up.courtyard was not kept.

Review 13:The staff was nice.

Review 14:Very minimal staff to help out with front desk and the kitchen. Outside was a bit sketchy, but I think they are in process of trying to make it a nice hotel.

Review 15:Located off I-70, and very easy to get to. The room was very spacious and offered lots of room, with a kitchen and plenty of space.

Review 16:In an industrial area--no place to walk at night safely. Fitness Center was in the bowels of the basement. As a single female traveling on business, I was not comfortable using it. Balcony overlooked warehouse--diesel fumes!

Review 17:The room was as depicted in the pictures. Nice bed, desk in room.

Review 18:The exterior was a mess. It made me uncomfortable staying there because it was so run down on the outside. The inside was nice but the curb appeal was horrible. Weeds overgrowing, looked abandoned. The courtyard was a haven for critters it was such a mess.

Review 19:The space was nice, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Review 20:Having a bath tub would've been nice. A pool in the courtyard (or better landscaping) would've been nice too. However, we still enjoyed our stay!

Review 21:We liked the balconies and cleanliness of the facility! We like that there was a restaurant attached to the hotel and, the food was delicious! We appreciated the two televisions AND the pull-out couch-bed. In addition, the staff was friendly!

Review 22:While the Hotel brags about its luxurious suites, its state of the artrestaurant, spacious fitness center, and convenient Airport shuttle, itoffers none of these amenities. The Hotel looks as if it was once worthstaying at, but now looks like an abandoned hotel among a city of ruins. The suites contain old television sets, bed bugs, and are surrounded byweeds, and unmaintained landscaping. The restaurant sits empty every dayand night, only finding a few patrons at the bar during late nighthours, the kind of patrons you do not want to spend your time with. Thefitness center is a spacious room, with 7 outdated machines, that lookas if they have not been used for the past 15 years. Lastly, the AirportShuttle does not exist, despite what their website describes as thefollowing, "Located just minutes from Denver International Airport(dia), our free airport shuttle is available 24/7/365 to startyour stay off just right!" You know what they say, do not alwaysbelieve what you read. I had already reserved the room from Booking.com,and would have been charged $100 if I had cancelled, not to mention thatall the other Hotels were booked after finding out about theseinconsistencies, (this one was empty for good reason obviously). To wrapup our miserable stay in this Hotel, they tried overcharging us for our6 night stay by $250. I would have expected a discount for all theseshortcomings and false advertising, but I guess they needed more moneyto pay the landscaper that they have not hired...

Review 23:The bed was much too soft, giving me a stiff neck. Though clean enough, the place gave the impression of having seen better days. There was the smell of pot smoke wafting from some of the rooms.

Review 24:Our suite was spacious and quiet. I usually don't like spending time in hotel rooms, but this felt like a nice place to hang out. The location is convenient to the airport and to downtown.

Review 25:Walls are so thin, I woke up every morning to some woman coughing her lungs out. Pretty bad area, I felt safe but that could have changed quickly. Bathroom sink was incredibly leaky and the toilet would randomly clog.

Review 26:Room was rather clean, staff was great.

Review 27:Front desk staff couldn't find our reservation when we got there. They had to call Bookking because it wasn't in their system, causing undo stress on weary travelers. Had to get breakfast tickets each morning, staff was never friendly always seemed put out to assist.

Review 28:The room layout was great and quiet. Bed was comfortable, one of the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel. The center courtyard was an unexpected bonus.

Review 29:When I tried Checking at 11:30 p.m. the night guy was very rude checking me in. When he was checking in the guest before me he told them all about the facilities, but once I stepped up he was very short with me and didn't explain anything about the hotel to me. Leaving me guessing about everything about the hotel. The Front Desk agent wouldn't check me in after I had already made my reservation. He then wouldn't refund me for my reservation. Even after I explained my wife and 4 month old daughter were in the car. He showed no remorse. Will never go back.

Review 30:The front desk agents in the morning were very nice

Review 31:Wi-Fi did not work, and the business centre had a computer from the stone age, with very slow internet connection, plus the printer did not work at all. Staff was unable to help. Furniture was old and worn, in the bathroom we had difficulties to open the tap as it was moving to all direction...

Review 32:First of all, we appreciated its location being close enough to the airport, as we had an early morning flight on the following day; we had a spacious suite that had a well equipped kitchen with one bedroom, for a very fair price.

Review 33:I Think for the price, the breakfast should include hot items like eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc. Even moderately priced hotels have a full breakfast like that.

Review 34:Location, clean, comfortable bed, balcony was good for smokers, loved the walk in shower.

Review 35:Everything was good for a hotel although my kitchenette which supposedly was in a studio room too was just a microwave with no cutlery, bowels etc. Lucky McDonald's is a walk next door. Otherwise everything else was good.

Review 36:Clerk seemed unclear about how the breakfast worked, however, they gave us coupons for the breakfast which we didn't need. It was pretty much a standard continental. They had made it almost sound like we were dining free in a restaurant.

Review 37:Size of suite was amazing.

Review 38:The front desk was unable to find our reservation and we would have been sleeping in the car had we not printed our confirmation. The lady at the front desk was also very rude. We will not be returning to this business and will not be recommending to others.

Review 39:Plenty of room for families with children.

Review 40:several light bulbs are out. the door to the bathroom came off. the worst part was that I asked for a non-smoking room, (as a matter of fact, this is supposed to be a smoke free hotel), but our room is filled with cigarette smell. My son left a shirt on the couch, the next day it smelled like cigarettes. So we had to check out and move to the hotel across the street.

Review 41:My son and I stayed in a king studio, the rooms are huge with nice kitchenette and walk-in closet. The hotel has beautiful bones (layout). Hallways are wide, with nice decors. But the grounds need some landscape. Breakfast was good, and the attached restaurant was convenient and served good food with reasonable price.

Review 42:As a disabled woman, I can't stand and shower but can take a bath. I was given a roll up shower with no seat to shower. They gave me a shower bench to use, which was super wobbly. The second day of using it, it broke. The fall caused me to have back and hip pain, which I now need to go to my dr's or urgent care tomorrow. On top of that, the bathroom floor flooded and we had a lake in the bathroom after a shower. That is a major safety issue! The front desk staff was not nice at all and very UNhelpful. Very disappointed. Definitely not staying there ever again!!

Review 43:The breakfast was good and the beds were super comfortable. I enjoyed the room and loved that we had a patio to go outside in the evening after it cooled off a bit.

Review 44:The hotel had a funny layout and it was non smoking but people were still smoking in hotel

Review 45:The hotel was close to family

Review 46:Customer service very professional

Review 47:Great breakfast Easy to get to on the bus. Room was ed every thing I had asked for.

Review 48:Bed, not so good. Sheets tolled up the bed

Review 49:Breakfast was very good

Review 50:I was worried after the online reviews, but it was fine.

Review 51:Food in the Bar & Grill is the best kept secret in Denver!!!!! Steak and ribs were far above expectation. Waitress made the dinner delightful.

Review 52:The air conditioner didn't work very well.

Review 53:The room was nice and bed was comfortable. My husband enjoyed the breakfast.

Review 54:Everything about this hotel was by far the best and we've stayed at quite a few places now. 8 motels up to this point. Great job Timbers.

Review 55:the court yard was great

Review 56:that breakfast was not that great no eggs no meat .just cereal

Review 57:The beds and comfort

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:Over good

Review 60:Front desk personnel was unprofessional & had a not care attitude !!!!!! Price was too steep for type of property!!!

Review 61:Location

Review 62:All front desk employees were

Review 63:Patios

Review 64:The property looks worn and tired. The staff seem uninterested in helping and more interested in playing on their phones.

Review 65:Needed to be updated.

Review 66:Having a separate living room and bedroom. Close to university of Colorado hospital.

Review 67:Their breakfast buffet was lukewarm and low quality. We thought there was supposed to be an omelette station but only found scrambled eggs(the kind that come out of a bag) and the hash browns were actually tarot tots. With our steak dinner they serves instant potatoes. The patio was small.

Review 68:The room was very spacious and the furniture was comfortable. The room was clean and staff were friendly. The server in the restaurant was knowledgeable and fast. The steak dinner was very good. The vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly.

Review 69:I have been staying at the Timbers since it opened. I think it needs refurbished. It seems no money has been put into the hotel since day one. It needs many upgrades!! TV was horrible.

Review 70:The staff was great. The shuttle to and from the airport, drivers very friendly. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was good.

Review 71:I did not like that we had to move rooms after unpacking all of our stuff, the doors were broken in the bathroom so we had no privacy, our back door was also broken, the air conditioner was not working properly so we were sweating at night, after moving to another room the door to that bathroom was even worse. It was just a hassle especially after driving in from out of state tired and having to pack up and move.

Review 72:It was close to the places we needed to go.

Review 73:Staff. If there is a General Manager they are invisible. I enjoyed myroom it was excellent for the price. The staff never cleaned my room. Two day stay - not good. With solid management it would be great.

Review 74:It is a beautiful hotel and I will probably stay there again.

Review 75:Not soundproofed between adjoins rooms. Remodeling was don but of poorquality workmanship. Large screws in threshold to bath that poke feet, screws not screwed in in escocheon around tub handle and was not caulkedso will cause water damage. Cigarette butts everywhere in courtyards andno lights in courtyard.

Review 76:Rooms were redone and beds were very comfortable.

Review 77:The price mix-up booked through on-line booking.com unable to findconfirmation. Given different price for the same room for various days.Front desk staff was new and no manager on duty

Review 78:The facilities the breakfast the suite location to shopping, downtownand airport

Review 79:We stayed eleven days and almost every day we had to get a new room keybecause the key didnt work. A hotel maintance man got 2 keys and went tothe room and after several trys he managed to get only 1 key to work. The room was susposed to have a clock and microwave. After 9 days of theeleven day stay we finaly got them. The sheets on the bed did not fitand would come lose during the night so that often we would be sleepingon bare matrees. Th staff strongly indicated that I was stupid when Ikept having a problem with the room key. Over the past 15 years I havestayed at many hotels as I was a tour bus driver and never have I hadsuch a problem with a room key. Most of your front desk people were forthe most part were less than respectfull. Upon check out I requested acopy of my bill, I was told that they could not give me one, that Iwould recive one via e-mail. I have been home now 4 days and still havenot recived a copy of my bill. Need I say more about your hotel staff ?We stayed an extra day because of bad weather at a differnt hotel due tothe bad experance at your hotel.

Review 80:Close to where family live

Review 81:Customer Service was hit and miss, mostly miss. I was checked in by a girl on her iPhone making a personal call(s) ("hold on <name>, I've just got to check this guy in") and when enquiring how to get into town (as the Timbers is a few miles out of town) was told 'get a taxi'. There is a bus service up the road that gets you to town and back for $4.50. Return taxi fare is around $50. More infuriating is the Grill restaurant (and the lack of communication with reception). I had been to an NFL game and back - long day in the sun and ravenous. I got back at 7.30pm and asked if the Grill was open - "Oh Yes, until 10pm" I am told at reception. "Are you sure, as I want to go and have a shower and freshen up"...."Yes, its open until 10pm". I shower and go there at 8pm. Its closing. The women running it doesn't care I was told 10pm, she wants to go home. She'll do me - and the other 3 groups of people who arrive whilst I wait (who were also told 10pm) - 'something quick and put it in a plastic tray' and we all go through an uneasy sort of negotiating process on essentially what's good for her (i.e. what we can order that won't take much time to do). I was planning on having 3 courses and maybe 2 or 3 glasses of wine. I got chicken and rice in a plastic tray which I ate on my bed. No drink. As I trudged back to my room with my plastic tray I overhead one of the receptionists telling a family of four "Yes it's open until 10pm". Reception being 25 metres away from the grill. The exception on the service front was a young Sunday reception girl (I think she might have been a student or something) who lived out of town (she was as clueless about the localities and transport as me) who actually did care and take time to help (rather than deflect) and looked things up for me. Other wise this review score would be even lower.

Review 82:Room was very clean and comfy, and the complimentary breakfast was really good.

Review 83:The grounds, including the hallways at this hotel were not clean. Therewas a garbage can overflowing with trash when we arrived and it wasstill that way when we left. The outside patio area of our room was notmaintained and there were cigarette butts everywhere. The entirecourtyard was not maintained - weeds, dead plants, and just overall yuckeverywhere. We found an area while walking from our car in the parkinglot to an entrance that we decided to call the spot where mattresseswent to die. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

Review 84:The room itself was definitely 3 star worthy. It was clean and had niceamenities. The bed was comfy and was nothing like the rest of the hotel.

Review 85:Left an expensive camera in our hotel room by accident when we checkedout at 3:55 am. Called hotel later that afternoon when discoverederror, the staff and manager, Kelly Chandler, were not helpful at allwhen we called. They said housekeeping didn't find anything and statedwe signed a sheet about leaving valuables in room. Very rude andunhelpful. So we filed a police report for the missing camera and gavethe serial number and description, so if it turned up we might have achance at getting it back. I would not feel safe in that hotel it wasin a very seedy area of town. We travel a lot and have stayed all overthe world. I would have to say this was a very bad experience and wouldnot recommend this hotel.

Review 86:Beds were comfortable

Review 87:At one time I'm sure this was a very nice hotel; maybe it even looked like the pictures on the internet. Currently it is hideous. The common areas are dirty and unkept. Hotels that are pet friendly should have superior upkeep, That is not in place at the Timbers. I checked in and checked out quickly! In addition to poor upkeep of common areas in the hotel, the landscaping is a mess. I have never seen so much dog feces and flies.

Review 88:I was able to check out early!

Review 89:The Location is not great pretty close to the Industrial center ofwarehouse and small industrial shops. And the land scape is sub par.butinside is much better than you expect .

Review 90:The Best part of this Hotel is their Suites, clean spacious and wellmaintained. Food at the Restaurant was c+ to b- but the staff isfriendly .

Review 91:The area is kind of run down. The back of the hotel was not kept up.There was lots of trash and empty liquor bottles thrown around. I almostdecided to not bring my family in and just find a better hotel. I tookchance and stayed there but I would not stay there again.

Review 92:The hotel was clean and the price was good.

Review 93:A lot of little things brocken. Bulbs, handles ... Poor quality of furnitures.

Review 94:The price and the breakfast , and size of the room.

Review 95:Shower

Review 96:didnt have a luggage cart when i checked out

Review 97:close to university of colorado hospital

Review 98:Bathroom door was the pocket-style and we couldn't get it to close all the way.

Review 99:Excellent bedding. Rooms have private balcony.
