Reviews for Legacy Hotel and Suites
Review 1:We did have a dead cockroach on the floor under the right bedroom window curtain.
Review 2:I really liked the guy who checked us in, he was friendly, laid back and handled the busy weekend and front desk with ease.:) The room was at a comfortable temperature upon arrival. It was quiet and peaceful despite the number of guests.
Review 3:We stayed there one night. The hotel was not clean. We rented a suite but the refrigerator did work. We had to switch rooms because the bathroom was not clean. The tub was dirty and trash and hair was all over the floor. The area where the breakfast was served was not clean, the floors were sticky, the water for the coffee was cold, and the food was awful.
Review 4:The was willing to accommodate, after my complaints.
Review 5:My son and his three young children were impressed -- especially with the elegant lobby. The staff gave them a free upgrade from two doubles to two queens. It was Christmas day and most restaurants were closed, but the hotel staff directed them to a place that was open.
Review 6:The sheets were clean but both towels and sheets were showing age as well as the bathroom.
Review 7:This hotel did have some vintage charm. The lobby and marble stairs were beautiful.
Review 8:Some things were a little dusty, like the bottom wood song the marble stair case, and light fixtures.
Review 9:Loved the history of the hotel, and the original marble stair case from 1913.
Review 10:The desk staff was rude on the phone. Was midnight because of cancelled flt. No hotel transportation. Had to push loaded luggage cart outside to get to our room because inside hall was already locked up for the night (whatever that meant). 1st room was so smokey (non smoking hotel) we had to be moved to another room on another floor. We were 3 70yr old ladies. Really bad.
Review 11:Absolutely nothing
Review 12:The other reviews .... wasn't sure what to expect... So we ended up being very pleased with our stay.
Review 13:Very friendly and great value. We enjoyed the age of the hotel. It compares to Hotels in Hot Springs, AR. Very surprised they allowed smoking.
Review 14:This facility is OLD and the last update looks to be in the 80's. A very tired old place that, unless you are working in the capitol area, I would avoid like the plague. The breakfast was a joke: a bowl of apples and bananas and a tray of lousy muffins from Sam's club.
Review 15:I liked that I didn't have to sleep in my car.
Review 16:Smell of entire hotel. Breakfast (yes it is free but the price of the stay will tell you they are not losing any money). Needs to be updated. Elevators don't seem very safe ( mechanical).
Review 17:Fairly nice staff. Location to downtown lr.
Review 18:View out dirty window (finger prints)over looking your outside settingarea needs attention!Taking suitcases up stairs to suite on 2nd very hard to do at our age! Elevator controls looked quite old. Hoped it would run! hahaha Breakfast....LACKING BIG TIME!
Review 19:Employees very Nice and Helpful! Mary and Merica very nice!AC worked great! Nice and quiet at the end of 2nd floor 219. Parking for Handicapped Great! Affordable.
Review 20:Air conditioning inefficient. Couldn't cool the room. It was loud and the fan never stopped. Sofa bed very uncomfortable. Elevator did not reach our floor.
Review 21:The wifi barely worked, and the water barely went down the drain as I showered. Everything else was pretty decent.
Review 22:Other than the fact that the free wifi didn't work very well, plus the fact that the water wouldn't go down the drain in the bathtub (when showering), my overall experience was good! The wifi and bathtubs could be better in other rooms, it's a fairly big hotel. That was just my experience in the room where I stayed!
Review 23:Hotel could use updating & the room could be a bit cleaner. Andmatching new towels would be great. But we really love the area &want the hotel & restaurant to succeed!!! And the Planters in frontof the hotel & the first handicapped spot when you drive in, needsthe branches cut down!!! Also the trash in all the planters need to beremoved. Easy fixes.
Review 24:Value for our Money. Historic Hotel. And the Restaurant in house isfantastic. Home made Italian Food that can not be beat.
Review 25:Needs updating, but better than chain.
Review 26:Very comfortable bed; nice bathroom. Not the best part of town, but not terrible, either. I walked to the nearby McDonald's for coffee.
Review 27:The bed was kinda hard. But other than that everything was great !!!
Review 28:The location is great easy access to 630 close to important point of interest in the downtown area
Review 29:Staff is always so friendly. We stay there minimum 4 times a year. If we ever hit the lotto we would redecorate the bedrooms & just do some cosmetic updates.....but it is really a great place with a perfect location & the restaurant IN THIS HOTEL is beyond amazing. The food is Awesome & home made! Again, yes it needs work but for the price you can not complain!
Review 30:Room was great. Arrived a little earlier than check in time for a concert. The front desk staff was very efficient and helpful allowing for early check-in and made restaurant suggestions. Great location to stay if going to a concert at the Verizon Arena.
Review 31:It is relatively old, but clean. Better than franchise hotels and motels. Elevator is old but working.
Review 32:Location (right in the downtown), relatively clean, very friendly staff especially Trisha (Trish) who suggested a good maxican restaurant.
Review 33:The breakfast should be better. Some boiled eggs or maybe a waffle maker would make it better.
Review 34:The staff is great. Very accomodating. They saw me come in with my instrument and gave me a small musician's discount, which I appreciated very much. The hotel is a very good value and much more atmospheric than a discount chain.
Review 35:The staff were wonderful the greeted us with open smile the upgraded our Room at no cost. We missed breakfast they were kind and open up their kitchen after hours and gave us breakfast. The hotel itself has caracter it is just like grandma's home and staff trats you just like that. Loved our stay there
Review 36:Location was great, near downtown and both sit down and fast food restaurants. Staff were great and friendly. Very minor paint touch ups needed but for having all the charm of an older stateroom for a great price it was well worth it.
Review 37:Great price for the location, walking distance to downtown. Staff very friendly, made check in and check out very quick and easy. The only complaint I would make is that the bed was not very comfortable. But overall I very much enjoyed my stay!
Review 38:The term "legacy" has its full sense here : very poor noise insulation, very noisy & unefficient A/C, the whole hotel is in need of an overall renovation...
Review 39:Good downtown location, easy parking, bistro available with good simple food & very friendly staff!
Review 40:The bed was uncomfortable the pillows were well used the floor was dirty! I have a baby that likes to crawl and he of course found things to put in his Mouth
Review 41:It was close to the area we were visiting
Review 42:The continental breakfast is a meh.
Review 43:Handy to Capital buildings, business and restaurants. Rooms were clean, bed comfy, fridge cold and coffee stocked, pot worked. Bath clean and stocked. Plenty of free parking outside your door HUGE plus downtown.
Review 44:Needs a good cleaning noise from heat kept us up and room remained cold. Continental breakfast was a joke! Bring or get your own.
Review 45:Location was good..safe neighborhood quaint
Review 46:I was extremely disappointed to not be in the main building but instead shuttled into the south wing. Please let me have the experience that I came for which was to have more access to the original building and the staircase ect.
Review 47:I liked the look of the building outside and the main lobby. I wish that the patio had been better maintained-it could have added so much to the total feeling of the dining experience.
Review 48:The hot water faucet in the shower was not operational. Restaurant was closed for the weekend.
Review 49:Downtown location and inexpensive. Room was clean and beds comfortable
Review 50:wifi didn't work. Decor lacking. Bedding inadequate. I could feel the seams in the mattress. Breakfast was terrible. The only healthy option was an apple. Pastry, sugary cereals and white bread does not constitute a decent breakfast. No restaurants except one at hotel nearby.
Review 51:Stephan at the desk. He was friendly, warm and welcoming.
Review 52:It was a maze of corridors and stairs. Stairs for no apparent reason because you went up a flight, then down a flight....dragging your suitcases through deserted endless passages. No bell hop. No staff other than the indifferent, non helpful desk clerk. All of this in antique surrounding. No WiFi. No help with it. Just excuses that didn't add up and a hotel manager who never answered his phone or returned my calls. When I called for linens on fir the sofa bed, I was told to go to the lobby to get them, then had to make the bed myself. I won't ever go back.
Review 53:Quaint atmosphere and pretty architecture and antique furniture in the lobby.
Review 54:Hallways smelled like cigarette smoke, no working business center computer to print off boarding passes, the hotel restaurant was not open most times, staff was not helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations, continental breakfast was horrible, milk was suspect, coffee was out and generally just lacking any protein at all.
Review 55:Room was big, bed was OK, furniture was helpful in the room, bathroom was fine.
Review 56:The parking lot got full. The continental breakfast was as cheap as it gets. The front office staff hardly made eye contact when you entered.
Review 57:The location was great.
Review 58:The Hotel needs a Boost!! Noticed for the past couple years, all the towels are thin & small. They should really just get rid of all the bedspreads & update....it would not take too much! Also cleaning a bit better of the rooms. Being honest, I have OCD so I look beyond where most people would look!! LOL
Review 59:The building is beautiful & the Staff has always been very accommodating. The New restaurant in the hotel is Excellent. That to us is what we really appreciate because we can just stay put...Drink, Eat & then go to our room. Location is really a plus as well. The Rooms are good sized & with a Frig+Microwave it is really a plus! We have done the Sight Seeing of the area & never were we more than 15 minutes away from the Hotel!!
Review 60:stairs, the fact that something bit me almost every night, possibly bed bugs, didn't like the fact that they moved the breakfast area since my last stay.
Review 61:location, atmosphere, price
Review 62:The room smelled a little musty, carpet was not in good condition, plug in outlets did not work. We called the desk several times about the outlet issue and could not get them to answer for a long time. Finally she answers and explained to use that she was the only person working and would put us on her list, poor young lady left to work alone on probably one of their most booked nights of the year! She did finally get to us and the problem was resolved.
Review 63:Location was convenient to the event we attended the next morning. The front desk clerk was very nice and willing to help.
Review 64:Dirty coffee cup left by my bad when I checked in. Whole hotel smelt musty. Run down building and outdated decor. Breakfast very limited and not that fresh.
Review 65:Good location for downtown and the Capitol building. Cheap. Free parking and wife.
Review 66:No ice, breakfast was cookies & old apples, small 12" TV, no microwave, terrible smell, rough & stained towels, old slow elevator & no ice. Yes checked floors 1-3 & no ice, staff member said there may be ice on 4th floor! Happy to Leave!
Review 67:Shower & Leaving
Review 68:The room was old and worn out. The flooring old and needed replacing.
Review 69:I like the location, it is easy to find and easy to get in and out during the day and night. I liked the fenced parking. They lost my reservation through booking.com but were able to find another room at a cheaper price.
Review 70:Old carpet, found some old cigarette burns on the bed cover but didn't use it so it wasn't that much of a bother.
Review 71:The rooms were equipped in everything we needed. Staff very friendly, kept our luggage after we checked out. Walking distance from Farmers Market and the Capitol building. The room smelled fresh and the bedding was clean.
Review 72:The bathroom was way to small and doesn't add to the value of the nightly room cost. Upon turning up to the hotel I do recall asking the lady behind the desk about doing my washing and was informed that they didn't have laundry powder. So I had to walk to the shell gas station to obtain some and on doing my washing I saw a dispenser hanging on the wall. So the lack of staff knowledge of your hotel was pretty ordinary.
Review 73:The air condition was awesome in that heat. And having a courtesy ride back to the airport
Review 74:The room was supposed to have certain amenities and it did not. When I brought it up to the lady at the counter, I was told in so many words - too bad we don't guarantee them. After asking for a manager, another lady came out of the back and offered another room. The room had to amenities but it was a smoking room. Best they could do. The cleanliness was below par. Would not stay there again.
Review 75:The accommodations were just OK.
Review 76:A/C unit a little loud...if you have trouble sleeping. I don't so...
Review 77:Location great...price wonderful...neat history on the hotel. Nice and clean place to stay for an older historic hotel. Rooms were fairly large and so were the closet.
Review 78:Our rooms were supposed to be non smoking and when we opened the door we immediately smelled smoke. However, we contacted the front desk and they handle the problem we stayed for 3 days and every time we came back we could smell the smoke again. this is an old hotel and it really needs just a bit of updating there are very small things they can do to make it more comfortable off today and new looking
Review 79:The price was great and the staff was wonderful. We did not run into one rude person the whole time we were there. They met our every need.
Review 80:We were a bit apprehensive about staying here based on the reviews.Once we arrived and checked in to our King size room, our fears were thankfully unfounded. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and stocked properly. The bed slept just fine for both of us for the two nights we were here. The location proved close to all we wanted to see and do...River Market district. Would stay here again.
Review 81:Our room had no AC and they didn't even bother to come and fix it. The morning receptionist was rude and not helpful at all
Review 82:The location was fine and the night receptionist was nice and helpful gave us a fan right away cause the AC was not working.
Review 83:Room quality, old section, may be because I booked through you since they didn't appear crowded. Breakfast, stale pastry, o. j. dispenser wouldn't work, coffee was so so. No bar or restaurant on Sat./Sun. Unfriendly young woman at desk. Safety issue because there was no way to lock the room door to the balcony. Put a chair in front of it at night.
Review 84:The courtyard and entrance foyer. It was quiet. Free parking.
Review 85:The room type they had for me was not what I reserved even though I told them I would be arriving late. The next morning I discovered the shower did not work in the room, so I did without and reported it to front desk and left the hotel. I told them I wanted it repaired or a different room with a working shower. I returned at 5:30 pm planning to take a shower only to find it was not repaired. I called the front desk only to be told that the maintenance person didn't come to work until 5pm and was repairing air conditioner and then would come to my room. He arrived after 6pm and began work with no success. While he was gone to get parts, I left at 7pm (without a shower) for an appointment I had with someone. When I returned at 11pm the shower had been repaired.
Review 86:good location for downtown and attractions. Decent value. Mini fridge and microwave in room.
Review 87:Helpful and kind staff. Great location. Accommodating.

Review 98:Loved the old charm of this quaint hotel! Great value
Review 99:Nothing to complain about.
Review 100:Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Minimal noise. Great Location and price.
Review 101:the bed sunk in the middle, didn't get much sleep. small room, needs update
Review 102:It is a bit of a walk from the main tourist parts of the city but a quick ride there. It seemed a bit outdated.
Review 103:The price was good.
Review 104:Business center wasn't operational
Review 105:Very clean, well equipped room.
Review 106:Tube had mold and the breakfast was old
Review 107:It was historical
Review 108:No shuttle service. But only a 12 min walk to our conference
Review 109:It was great for me. We were only there to sleep.
Review 110:Breakfast was too small not enough varieties....no breakfast meats.
Review 111:The room, the shower, the view and the large TVs
Review 112:Old coffee pod left in coffee maker.
Review 113:Excellent upgrade when we arrived at 2:00 in the morning.
Review 114:Refrig not plugged in upon arrival. No bathroom plugs worked and bathroom was not cleaned
Review 115:historical hotel that needs restoration.
Review 116:Everything
Review 117:Bed too hard.
Review 118:Can't think of anything. Maybe that there was no breakfast?
Review 119:Old hotel with class. The room was beatiful and very nice.
Review 120:The hotel could spruce up the public areas, particularly the elevators.
Review 121:Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff was helpful and courteous.

Review 123:Comfortable bed
Review 124:Great restaurant!

Review 127:Price and location.
Review 128:The rooms are outdated and not very clean
Review 129:The location
Review 130:Facilities were NOT clean. We had a used condom under our bed and a used hypodermic needle in the courtyard. Also, trash on the balcony.
