Reviews for The Lipa Lovely Beach Resort
Review 1:Brilliant location right on the beach with a few little restaurants within easy walking distance. Staff arranged transfers and allowed a late check out.
Review 2:Old style tube TVs and no attempt from staff to make any changes. Front of house staff were incredibly curt.
Review 3:The location is stunning and has wonderful ocean swimming.
Review 4:Once arrived, the hotel staff announced us that there was a problem with the reservation and that they have to upgrade us freely for the first night (which seems to be a good news), but we have to pay a supplement for the 2nd night to stay in the same room. We refused, considering that this was a tricky commercial strategy and a weird way to treat customers. So they forced us to change the accomodation, (even if there was several similar free!), and gave us the worst room, located near the reception and the road, so very noisy. Strange behaviour to gain few bahts...
Review 5:localisation, breakfast, nice restaurant staff, good restaurant
Review 6:We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a lovely quiet resort with 2 swimming pools and a beautiful stretch of beach right in front of the bungalows. If, like us, you want to spend a few days being lazy and doing very little, it's absolutely ideal. Every section of the resort has its own wifi, even on the beach, so it's good internet throughout. We stayed in the cheapest style bungalow I think but it was really nice, and still only a few steps from the beach. The food was really good, for breakfast there's a buffet with loads of choice, and the staff, particularly in the restaurant, were very friendly.
Review 7:The only downside I can think of is that the mosquito net at the bathroom had some holes on it. But we had no problem with mosquitoes at all for what is worth.
Review 8:The beach just a few steps from the door of our bungalow!!! The bungalow was beautiful, and provided with anything we could ask for. The hotel staff arranged everything we needed, including tours, motorbike rental (very important if you want to move around since the hotel is far from town life) and transportation back to the airport.
Review 9:One female staff member was very rude. Mostly Thai TV channels, hardly any English, which is weird as mainly Western people staying there. Mattress and pillows very hard and uncomfortable
Review 10:for the amount of money paid for night, the room was very disappointing - the entire bathroom is 80's and hard to air, it's a bathroom you will get in a hostel. the lighting is terrible both in the room an bathroom. The resort is beautiful, but the rooms must get renovated ! we paid less in other resorts with better locations and the rooms were far far better.
Review 11:The resort is on a beach, when you sit at the restaurant it's really relaxing and you have beautiful view of the ocean, great vibe. Comfy king size bed
Review 12:I had a lovely experience, nice staff, nice view, very good location 2-3 meters from the sea,the food was excellent, room was clean and nice. Lipa Lovely Resort it's good deal,I recommend this hotel.
Review 13:Same breakfast for 11 days is a little bit disappointing. Staff barely understands English. Towels are stained and when we asked for an extra blanket they brought us something dirty with bugs on it, so we couldn't use it. Hotel brochure says they own and allow no pets, but the same three cats were always on the premises bothering guests. Our roof was leaking in a few places under heavy rain, thankfully, not over the bed. (: If you can't sleep in the noise, don't go there. Jungle is all around! Insects are also everywhere outside, including the restaurant.
Review 14:Location is quite good, right on the beach, with a sunset over a hill. Nice restaurant with a beachfront view. Spacious villas with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom (no bathtub, though). And the price was awesome in December.
Review 15:That we had to leave. I nearly cried!
Review 16:We had the most memorable Christmas ever. The staff are an absolute credit to the organisation. The hotel is located on the western side of Koh Samui and although it is a bit away from anything else it really didn't bother us. Everything we needed and wanted was on site. Our room was superb, literally a stones throw in one direction to the beach and another stones throw to one of their two pools. The bed was very comfortable, air con was great and we had a lovely bathroom with free toiletries. We were given free bottles of water everyday. The first day there was a lovely selection of fruit in the room and the second day some chocolates were left on our bed. Such a nice touch! The breakfast was undoubtedly the best we have had in SE Asia. A superb buffet spread from fried foods, to salad to cereals. A very nice surprise indeed. The hotel had it's own private beach with lounge chairs and some nice shaded areas.
Review 17:The bar/restaurant Big John's which belongs to Lipa Lovely Resort area was a bit too expensive, specially the cocktails and fish/seafood meals, very European-like prices which we don't think it was appropriate. We understand it is located by a nice beach but... still, expensive.
Review 18:The staff was really friendly, the breakfast which was included on the price (nicely cheap in December, by the way!) was really tasty and fresh, we had always cleaning room service which left us bottles of water for free in the room (every day!), we also had an empty pool right next to us which was great for a swim early in the morning, there's a few restaurants around the area which are really nice to try once in a while, but mostly is a calm and quiet location, the view is amazing, the seaside is clear and clean... What else can you ask for?
Review 19:Location. In very quiet part of island. Taxis are very expensive (most expensive of anywhere I have been in Asia). Not many restaurants around locally and no nightlife. If you want this then you need to pay around 800 baht one way for a taxi. If your looking for a quiet beach holiday and are content with eating in same restuarant than that is fine. It was pretty rainy when we went so there wasn't really anything we could do locally. It cost us a fortune getting taxis to other side of island.
Review 20:Beach villas beautiful. Special, new, clean and nice layout and decor. Beach was gorgeous. Food in restaurant good.
Review 21:Liked everything
Review 22:I was upgraded from economy to a bungalow so can not review standard room.the bungalow was excellent, large, dressing room, bathroom, safe and a quiet air con.all toilet facilities provided.staff were really friendly and courteous.if you.like quiet thus is the place to.be
Review 23:litter from the port arrives sometimes, territory is divided into 2 pieces with nutral territory in the middle being untended
Review 24:beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere
Review 25:The swimming pool was very strong with chemicals so could only swim for a couple of minutes before our eyes started stinging.
Review 26:On the beach. Quiet and a lovely retreat from the rest of the bust island of koh samui.
Review 27:You really need a scooter or a car otherwise you can´t go anywhere! The main road is about 1.5 Km away and the taxis are really expensive compared with other places in Thailand! The restaurant is a bit expensive based on the quality of the food, I think they should review the prices! Also the amount of chlorine in the swimming pool was a bit too much!
Review 28:Although this is not a super luxurious resort it has everything we need, beach, 2 pools and wonderful bungalows! The staff is extremely helpful! The sunset view is wonderful in this resort and the breakfast was really good. The location is perfect for those who need from Lipa Noi to Donsak pier!
Review 29:The broken tiles of the swimming pool. Got a few scratches from it.
Review 30:Mostly everything. The friendliness of the staff. The helpfulness of the reception. The service we got. The food at the restaurant.
Review 31:This is not a flash resort like others in Koh Samui but absolutely has everything you need.
Review 32:Has everything you need and great value for money. Good restaurant, and friendly staff. Beautiful beach always kept clean.
Review 33:Huge mosquitoes and lots of them! Spent all my repellent to spray the entrance door and ourselves. Good thing the staff warned us. Foods at restaurant are quite pricy so we ate outside which was no big deal.
Review 34:The resort upgraded the room for us FOC probably it was during the low season but none the less the staff are very pleasant people. We checked out early to catch the ferry so they prepared us boxed breakfast, nothing fancy but highly appreciated! Such kind gesture. Rooms style are also great, spacious room we stayed in. Beach was perfect. Loved the kayak provided. We sent out laundry to a shop just outside the resort and they delivered ahead of time right to our room. So impressive.
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:Every thing was just perfect. The room was big and comfortable, cleaned every day. The staff was great. 2 pools just perfect for kids and for us. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel location at the west side of koh samui - quite and peacefull. Nice resutrants in front of the hotel for cheaper food. Beautiful beach, best thai massage at the beach We sure come back again
Review 37:There was an animal in the roof of our bungalow running around at night and some bees got in the hotel room with all the doors and windows closed
Review 38:Hotel staff was great and helpful. Restaurant was fantastic with great food and friendly staff. Beautiful location
Review 39:Pool a bit small and worn. Rather quiet and secluded area, which makes it a bit isolated..
Review 40:Good location right on the beach, with free access for guests to chairs and two kayaks. Good massage on the premises, right next to beach. Ok restaurant.
Review 41:Our bed was two beds pushed together which wasn't the most comfortable.
Review 42:Gorgeous location, right on the beach! Lovely and quiet, good value for money.
Review 43:Wifi didn't always work in our room. Pool needs to be cleaned more frequently. Some staff members not too friendly. We were almost alone in the resort during our stay in may, felt like the whole resort was working for us.
Review 44:The bungalows are nice, resort is right on the beach, breakfast was great.
Review 45:beach bugalow was fantastic, drinks expensive, fab quiet location, transport needed to get about , safe family place need some shelter over baby paddling pool
Review 46:The wifi in the rooms is poor. Outside the resort there aren't many dining options if you don't have a scooter.
Review 47:The resort is perfectly located on a long stretch of beach. The rooms are large and comfortable. We had a room overlooking the beach. We were mere steps away from the water. It was a lovely surprise considering the price. The staff were very helpful and available. Real value for money!
Review 48:Nothing all perfect
Review 49:All was fantastic good staff beautiful room and swimming pool and a perfect place near the beach the hotel rooms very clean wifi connection perfect the bed was so comfortable
Review 50:The only thing that comes to mind has to do with other guests feeling free to sun bath topless. This was very unnecessary and inconsiderate of other guests!!! There where kids around people!
Review 51:The beach is great for children, it's shallow and the waves where very calm. The location is beautiful and peaceful. The staff was very kind and helpful to us. Over all a great place to vacation with kiddos.
Review 52:Nothing but just add something. A bit far from city center
Review 53:tranquil, beach view, with beautiful hut like rooms. Excellent for family escape with playground, beach and calm atmosphere. Would definitely go there on my next trip to samui. Staff were more than helpful and breakfast was very good. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
Review 54:Great location near the beach with fantastic sunset. The restaurant was excellent. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable and clean. Great place to stop for a night if you have an early morning ferry.
Review 55:The stuff was very helpfull and friendly, we had to leave early morning and they have prepared special breakfast for us. Rooms clean and nice. Lovely beach.
Review 56:price is a bit expensive taking into account available facilities and in comparison to other islands, like Ko Lanta or Phuket.
Review 57:Most of all, we enjoy the location, the hotel is situated right on the seaside. The beach was wonderful, the water was calm and not very deep, that is suitable for children. We also enjoyed free kayaking. Our room was family room and it was separate bungalow, very spacious, clean with two bathrooms and bedrooms. It was very convenient for family of 4. All facilities were in the room. Moreover, it was located near the beach and far from the restaurant and road, in calm and peaceful corner of the hotel. The swimming pool was good, but the sea was definitely better for swimming and relaxing. Children enjoyed small playground. Also car rental with fair prices was located near the hotel. What is very important in comparison with experience gained from Ko Lanta, all rooms and hotel territory were processed against insects. In overall, the hotel is very comfortable and perfect way to spend days just to relax and enjoy holiday at the seaside.
Review 58:A bit strange reception also bringe guests to the pier so check ins have to wait till he returns. They maybe should expand the pool since it is quite small for the property. The restaurant bar closes a bit early at 10 PM
Review 59:Lovely hotel with a nice ambiance and restaurant with good menu. Friendly and efficient service. Rooms are very spacious but Thai style decorated. Big Flatscreen TV and separate changing room, large balcony. Perfect for beach life.
Review 60:Food hygiene - 3 children sick after eating. I child ended up in grim hospital with food poisoning. Pool - over chlorinated causing eye problems and very sore rashes. Miserable for the children. Pool is in a very bad state of disrepair, broken tiles with sharp edges, not been maintained or repaired since we last visited in 2012. Pool is not safe for children.
Review 61:Location, quiet west side of island, amazing sunsets, great beach. Complete peace and tranquility. Wonderful staff.
Review 62:the cost of taxis on Samui are very high.
Review 63:The breakfast was the best meal ever. loved it.
Review 64:Awesome food !!!!
Review 65:Nice quiet place. We had a beach bungalow. Nice beach but lot of jellyfish! Far away from everything, need a car.
Review 66:What's not to like?
Review 67:We enjoyed all they had to offer
Review 68:I loved the position, close to the sea, in a very quite place. Beautiful resort, kind and helpful staff.
Review 69:Poor wifi
Review 70:Relaxed quiet beautifu lbeach
Review 71:The staffs are amazing services. The location is perfect to party.
Review 72:If you have a long stay you will be bored with the same breakfast.
Review 73:All wonderful!
Review 74:Staff
Review 75:Breakfast
Review 76:Food a little over priced.
Review 77:Staff was very friendly. Location was nice if you are looking for a quiet beach.
Review 78:a bit remote
Review 79:Room bathroom pool
Review 80:A bit remote only a few shops opposite.
Review 81:Large bed. Great views of sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 82:Restaurant needs sorting out Staff need proper training Six attempts at doing a boiled egg two attempts at doing toast.Little things but inportantWhen I arrived No marmalade & no cornflakes,The cornflake arrived after 2 days.
Review 83:The atitude of all the staff
Review 84:I did not think my room was a Deluxe suit AT ALL. So I feel a bit cheated as far as that goes. The resort needs some work - especially to the rooms on the far right of the beach
Review 85:Very friendly staff set in a nice location. Nice beach and the food at the resto was fantastic. The resort has a lot of potential - it needs a bit of a refurb and clean up to bring it back to it's former glory.
Review 86:* restaurant overpriced * it was not a problem for us, but if you expect parties and night life - go for eastern part of the island
Review 87:* very clean, staff friendly, rooms modern * beach is very clean * no crowds * romantic restaurant on the beach with really good food
Review 88:Big John restaurant is something different to what we learned in older issue of Lonelyplanet, quite overpriced in comparison with other restaurant and bars, but there are very good cheap food options just across the street. Too quiet for partypeople, not much to do.Beach was a little smelly due to algae, wifi only in the restaurant and reception..., but still quite nice.
Review 89:Good for children, bad for snorkeling. Great breakfast at the restaurant, good value for the money, near to LIPA NOI PIER. Great front desk people...
Review 90:Staff very willing to help and friendly. All we wanted was to sit on a beach to relax and this was just the place. Sunshine Abdul sandy beach. Great food served and restaurant and we recommend the Thai kitchens opposite the resort especially the Mango Tree. The Chilli bar does a good G&T also the food not to bad either, these places are cheaper to eat at than the resort but no complaints on price. Room cleaned daily perfect.
Review 91:Prices for a massage Manicure not well done Food at the restaurant too expensive, but there are near by some nice restaurants You need to pay 150 baht (for 2 people) to go to Lipa Noir Pier although it is only 1-2km from the hotel
Review 92:Beautiful beach and nice to swim sea Quite and simple atmosphere Great service
Review 93:Staff should learn some English. I had many difficulties with the use of language. Really strange Thai accent :-)
Review 94:Sandy beach, calm place. Really quiet, good for relaxing. Not far from the port, some shops are nearby, and the sea is beautiful.
Review 95:We missed wifi in the room, hand towels, somewhere to hang more than one wet towel, door mat/foot basin to get rid of sand from beach. It was unpleasant that so many hotel guests put their cigarettes out in the sand. There too few beach beds in the right wing of the resort, so guests occupied them with beach towels before breakfast and kept them for the whole day even when they were not there. The trash bins on the beach were to small and became more than full several times during our stay. The wifi in the restaurant did not have enough capacity on several occasions, so we went to the reception area and used the wifi there instead. This is 2014, so we expect full coverage of wifi in all indoor areas, the restaurant and the organised sun bathing areas. At least for a resort of this class.
Review 96:Excellent choice for swimming, sun bathing and long beach walks with fine sand both on the beach and in the sea. Good for all ages - from baby to elderly. Easy to find shadow also. Excellent breakfast with cook doing any style eggs on order. Lots of fruits, yoghurt, milk, toast, sausages, Thai food, bacon etcetera. We did not try the restaurant for dinner. We decided to eat at the Thai kitchens across the street. The resort restaurant had a very large choice on the menu and a bar. Excellent choice for families with children since it is away from both traffic and the sea. The resort is 5 km away from the closest city which was according to our plan since we wanted a more relaxed atmosphere after three days of shopping on Chaweng beach on the other side of the island.
Review 97:Hardly any atmosphere. Loads of Russians. Expensive restaurant.
Review 98:Nice and quit beaches, nice food across the resort. Good chairs on the beach. Personnel is okay.
Review 99:From the moment I arrived at reception I had nothing but great friendly service from all of the staff. The location was perfect, and the room was simply yet very adequately furnished.Thoroughly enjoyed almost 2 weeks stay at the Lipa Lovely Resort.
Review 100:Poor breakfast menu - eggs or toast? After few days we could not eat it anymore! Sunbeds should be renovated.
Review 101:Very nice and clean place close to the beach. Even the cheapest rooms are max 50 meters from the beach. Not very crowded.. All the area very calm. Good for romantic couples or families with small children. If you want to party - find another place:-) one restaurant in the hotel ( nice but relatively expensive) 3 family, cheap and good restaurants across the street. The staff in Lipa Lovely is really proffesional and helpful, they really doing their best! It's very clean, cleaning every day. Room was big and well furnitured. We absolutely reccomend it!
Review 102:Breakfast is the only things that may have been improved. There wasn't a whole lot of variety.
Review 103:The staff were very friendly and extremely professional. Despite leaving an open wallet full of cash in our room, they did not take one cent during room service. They helped us organize tours and even gave us a New Year's Eve gift wrapped and left at the ends of our beds. We even saw staff cheerily carrying drunken people back to their rooms on the morning of New Years. Rooms were very clean and cleanliness is important to me. No complaints.
Review 104:I liked the tranquility and proximity to the sea. the employees were very helpful although they didn't understand english properly. It's a place to come back...
Review 105:In the middle of nowhere. No shops, etc to go to outside of resort.
Review 106:We stayed at this hotel as we needed to be up early for a ferry from Lipa Noi pier. Was a nice quiet place and was what we needed.
Review 107:The staff were amazing and organised everything for us - the location is amazing and the resort is right on the beach front. The laid back atmosphere of this side if the island Ives you a chance to unwind completely and venture to the busier parts of the island via scooter. A great place to stay!
Review 108:The staff was so friendly. And we had the most beautiful bungalow with seaview. We spent 5 days here and everything was just so great. We will definitely come back :)
Review 109:Great resort right on the Lipa Noi quite white sandy beach. we had a wonderful week there with our 8 and 11 yrs. old kids. "Big John" restaurant serves delicious food and shakes and the staff was very friendly. Love the place
Review 110:No WiFi in our room. Had to go to the Restaurant area to use it. Did nothave dinner at Big John Restaurant as the prices were way over the top.We paid far less at much better restaurants in Thailand. The Resort andRestaurant are slightly tired and the Restaurant really needs a bit of arevamp. Floor consisted of loose brick pavers which were very uneven.Whilst they did clean certain areas of the beach, the pathway leading tothe beach chalets is totally neglected. There are dead branches andtrees and lots of rubbish and waste that have washed up from the beach.
Review 111:The resort was quiet and relaxing and on a beautiful beach whichstretched for miles in both directions. This meant we could go for along walk in the mornings. Not a difficult beach to walk on. Lovely softsand. We had a beach chalet which was very nice, clean and comfortableand nice and light with the large windows and patio doors all around. Two loungers just outside our door on our verandah meant we could lieoutside and read or enjoy a drink in the evenings with the cool seabreeze. Breakfast was fairly basic but adequate. Breakfast was served inthe Big John Restaurant. Location was great with the lovely beach andalso across the road we found 3 lovely little local restaurants. Thefood was excellent and very inexpensive. Lunch we normally had Sweet andSour Stir fried veg for only 50 Baht. Dinner, Thai Green Curry was 100Baht. Large Singha Beer only 70 Baht. Reception Staff were very good andmost helpful with our requests. Also, hired a scooter from the hoteldirectly, which was excellent. The Resort had a lovely relaxing feel andit had a certain charm that we missed when we left.
Review 112:Took my family this year with 3 girls ages 6-9-12. Stayed in the beachfront family room which would have to be in the best location on Samui island. Kids loved the beach being on there doorstep & spent plenty of time in the pool also. If you want somewhere that is peace & quiet to spend with family then this is definitely the place to stay. Great breakfast and staff are all fabulous We Loved it and will be back again next year
Review 113:The hotel is located quite a bit away from the tourist areas so you need to drive to shops and restaurants etc but everything is on and at the hotel!
Review 114:It was very quiet and relaxing, after spending a few weeks travelling a rest at lipa lovely was just what we needed. The staff were so nice and extremely helpful!
Review 115:The restaurant is to expensive, you can eat across the road from the resort and also buy stuff from the small supermarket a very nice lady runs! As for the rooms they are dated and a chair inside the cabin would be nice. Also a new showerhead and showercurtain would be no luxury.
Review 116:When we arrived we got an upgrade to a bigger room! Staff is really friendly. Resort is near the beach, just a few steps from the cabin. The rooms are kept clean and new towels every day. I would recomend this resort for a short stay, we had a good time!
Review 117:Needs cleaning and some work. Hotel price for taxi 200 baht to pier which is 2 km away is not reasonable.
Review 118:Nice bungalow but not clean enough, lovely location and good beach not clean again. The only reason we went there was because we needed to catch the raja ferry next day. The best thing was the sunset we were able to admire. We also had an amazing diner at the restaurant.
Review 119:Quite expensive resort restaurant and mostly european dishes. Howeverthere are many local places to eat outside the resort.
Review 120:Nice resort located just on the beach, Very nice and friendly staff.Good massage in the resort by the see.
Review 121:Pricey for food and drink, but excellent roadside restaurant justacross the road where we ate every night. Breakfast delicious, but like4 out of the other 6 hotels we stayed in over a month, the food isplentyful but luke warm. They do cook eggs to order though, which didmake up for it.
Review 122:They upgraded us to a bungalow which was superb as Booking.com customer.Would certainly recommend you upgrade to a bungalow as they are veryroomy, and have an in-room safe. Very pleasant beach only yards from ourbungalow which was never busy and beautiful sand. Canoes for guest use.Pool not massive but sea superb so didn't use the pool. 5 minutesfrom Dansek ferry port so transfers reasonable.
Review 123:Cleaning service has deteriorated in the second week.Nearest storeмinimarkert 7-11, not in walking distance. A lot of dogs on the beach.Tothe nearest store to buy only what is needed, without muchchoice.Evenings can be mosquitoes, quite a lot, but fortunately not inthe rooms.
Review 124:Breakfast very good, some of the best in cheap hotels in Thailand. Nexttwo inexpensive cafes and pizzeria one (only at night).Pretty cleanwater (a little mud), shaded beach, enough sunbeds. Swim comfortably.Next you can rent a jet ski. Very often in the evening wedding and agreat fireworks display, sometimes involving elephants.
Review 125:The bungalows were clean, but a bit tired- a brief paint andchanging/washing the curtains will go a long way all to look likenew. One thing I find uncomfortable is that the air-cons take a verylong time to cool the room, even if you turn it on the lowest 18 degreesit shows on the ac that currently is 28 degrees and the room felt veryhot. You need to keep it constantly on for at least 5-6 hours to be ableto reach as low as 25 degrees.
Review 126:I stayed in Lipa Lovely just for one night on the way. My ferry wasleaving quite early from the Lipa Pier and this was the reason to choosethat resort. I was never really interested to stay much on Koh Samui, sowill not go into any details on my stay there. Would like just to saythat the bungalows are clean, the resort is in a very quiet place and ifyou are looking for wild parties and action- you are in a wrong place. Most of the visitors were older or families with many children. Therestaurant is pretty dear, but just across the resort on the other sideof the main road- 3 min walking there are 3 restaurants that are verycheap and even though they don't look too fancy- the food is verynice- Thai mainly, but if you are looking for Western food, I saw apizza place as well.
Review 127:Although upgraded the chalet was uncomfortable. No chairs to sit in when in chalet. The sofa bed was too wide to sit in comfortably. One of the sunbeds outside was broken. The decore of the chalet was shabby and the door lock never worked properly even though it was supposedly repaired. Big Johns restaurant was expensive.
Review 128:Location. Quietness. Helpful reception staff.
Review 129:nothing negative to say. liked everything about the place.
Review 130:We attended my son's wedding next door so it was the perfect location but apart from that everything about the place was really lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bungalow was clean and smelt beautiful. Fantastic beach location with awesome sunsets. brilliant place to chill out and relax. Pure heaven. Would definitely return.
Review 131:Garden and pool were not properly maintained but still ok. ExpensiveRestaurant (large beer 5 Eur)
Review 132:Good size rooms Good food in Restaurant Great beach accessLovely/Friendly staffThe only thing that bothered us was a little bit of age showing on the resort. We learned that the resort was opened 20 years ago and figured that the owner is fairly old now and doesn't have the proper hand over the Resort anymore. Another thing which was worrying were Coconut trees on the property. One afternoon, one coconut fell from the tree just meters from our sun bed. A real health issue there! Like i said, the Resort would need a little new wind to be sparkling again. All in all a very good stay at Lipa lovely Resort. Our 2 year old daughter enjoyed the playground and small pool. Lovely girl (front desk manager) helped us with everything and even upgraded us to sea view bungalow by the pool. If you desire some local dishes (cheap) there are three small localy owned restaurants just across the street. We called them Restaurant 1, 2 and 3 (1 beeing closest to the entrance of the Resort). No. 2 was our favourite and the old lady (owner/cook) was so friendly and to top it off a great cook. Apart from that you have to rent a scooter or car to get to anywhere. Location is really remote, but we wanted that after 4 days of BKK and 4 days of Koh Tao. This was our 3rd trip to Thailand and 6 nights in Lipa Lovely Resort were amongst the best we ever had. Hope the Resort will get some make up soon, but it still is good value for money. Arrived yesterday back home to snowy Slovenia, but the memory of a great stay in Lipa Lovely keeps us warm. Thanks :)
