Reviews for Kanok Buri Resort and Spa
Review 1:Ridiculous charge of 200 baht for trip to taxi around 1.5km away - very poor not to include it after a high price per night. Pool old and dirty. Some staff frustrating. Wifi didn't work in room at all. Really a disappointment for the price.
Review 2:Good place on the beach, near to ferry
Review 3:The restaurant is expensive and most the time empty but there are lot of restaurants near to eat instead.
Review 4:Nice empty beach and cool pool villa. Very friendly stuff and very clean area. A bit far of all the crowded party placed but best conditions to relax
Review 5:Breakfast buffet not brilliant - very weak tea and miserable looking eggs that stuck in their metal dish. On one occasion, seemed to be only one member of staff serving at the bar although there seemed to be four others doing something else when there was a queue.
Review 6:Good accommodation
Review 7:Free shuttle to Chaweng, Nathon, Lamai, etc is one way only and taxi prices are very steep on Koh Samui in general Breakfast could have more to choose from
Review 8:Gorgeous bungalow with private pool, well worth the price Nice staff GREAT beach! Wonderful garden connecting the bungalows
Review 9:This Hotel was perfect for us. Quiet with lovely room and beautiful beach. Couldn't fault it in anyway, people so charming, polite and helpful. Highly recommended. Surrounding area may be a little quiet for some but a Moped easily fixes that.
Review 10:The spa shower was very old and a piece actually came apart while I was having a shower.
Review 11:I liked the location of the restaurant which was on the beach. The room was very clean and it was a very quiet location.
Review 12:far away from the facilities of the island
Review 13:kind staff very calm romantic area to spend honeymoon
Review 14:Nothing.
Review 15:Everything! Gorgeous, huge room with our own little pool. Massive, comfy bed, and really deep bath to lay in. Great spot on the beach. Excellent, friendly staff. Little gym over the road we could use, which never had anyone in it! Very quick wifi (important for me, as I do some design work on the go). The food was very good, but you pay for it. If I was to scratch around for an almost negative - the food could be a little bit cheaper.
Review 16:the two things I did not like, were a- having to leave to return to ban ko b- no other place I stay in the world will seem sufficient now after staying in a 10/10 resort in paradise.
Review 17:I cant stress enough how great this trip was. we stayed for a week, over new years eve in a villa with a private pool, and the villa was beautiful. it looked small from outside but was very spacious inside with one of the biggest bathrooms ive ever had in an apartment or villa (I have travelled all around the world and I do not stay in low-star accommodation) the rooms and pool were all cleaned daily with fridges and toiletries being restocked daily. the grounds were absolutely beautiful (the resort is set on 2 sides of the road, but the road is a dead end, so no through traffic and really peaceful) the side of the resort which has the reception and beach front restaurant has a magical walk through tropical plants and koi carp-filled ponds with frogs and butterflies all around you (I have never seen such beautiful butterflies) the food served at the restaurant was 10/10 every time and the breakfast style buffet was varied and well stocked. the beach was beautiful being cleaned daily with no litter or bare-foot dangers lurking. they also had a great variety of cocktails which really did make the scenic paradise feel complete.now on to the staff, who were quite simply amazing! I have never met staff so attentive and caring, who before we had even arrived had managed to find me the last Toyota hilux of its kind available (I had been trying for 3 days to book a motorbike and a hilux but had no luck across the whole island, as for NYE everything was already booked and my thai is a little rusty...
Review 18:The hotel has a stagnant koi pond running through the middle of it which is filthy and attracts a tremendous number of insects, primarily Mosquitos. The overall feel of the hotel is damp and dated. We did not use the pool at our pool villa because the surroundings area was so unpleasant. The beach and ocean were mediocre but that seems to be the norm across the island.
Review 19:Receptionist was very nice and the beach has a great view of the Samui sunset.
Review 20:Breakfast wasnt the best but you never really find a good westernbreakfast in asia, the housekeepers could have been more thorough as wenoticed certain things had not been cleaned. We found the hotelrestaurant to be poor value for money and chose to have lunch out onthe street where there are three or four 'houses' sellingfood, drinks souveniers and groceries. The biggest flaw of this hotel isits location which is ideal if you want total isolation but hell if youdont. I strongly reccomend renting a car or scooter, the hotelreception has a large folder full of prices,we rented a car andexplored the island
Review 21:We booked a pool villa room in the boutique wing but on arrival wereshown to the smaller tropical wing, the staff did move us to theboutique wing immidiatley though. The villa itself was small but therewas plenty of outdoor space with 2 sun loungers and a small table tohave lunch at. The pool was just big enough and deep enough for a smallswim and the waterfall feature was a nice touch, also, the pool has anin built jaccuzzi. Staff were very friendly and courteous I would stayhere again but only if other locations were very busy, and I would needmy own transport
Review 22:they don't have enough motorbikes to rent for their customers, moreover the rent was expensive comparing to outside the resort, another thing they should've built their private pool villas on the beach with beach front view
Review 23:Lovely place, especially for couples
Review 24:The service at the front desk is very good, though a bit disorganized. The service personnel in the back of the house(housekeeping and bar/restaurant) seem to be at odds with each other and it creates a negative energy. The same people seemed to be working 24/7 the whole 6 days I was there, so maybe an overwork issue? My first morning there, after arriving in the evening, there was no drinking water in my room. It took several requests from the front to housekeeping to get drinking water, which was finally delivered at 2:45 p.m. and my villa was right next to the bar. Having to pay extra for a New Year's Eve gala that I did not attend was not cool either. I would say that for the number of people needing to use the beach every day, it is too small and there are not enough sun loungers or umbrellas. The remoteness of the area makes it necessary to walk elsewhere or walk on the very trafficky island ring road, so the little makeshift shops and restaurants across the road are the only immediate option. Given the large number of tourists coming to Thailand from Russia, Switzerland, Germany and France, it would probably be easier to provide services to those tourists if the menus and other information was also available in those languages, rather than just English.
Review 25:The individual villas and the nature and garden through the property. The food at the restaurant was pretty decent, though pricy.Though the wifi was not working, the IT tech came to work on if from the other side of the island and they spent several hours trying to get it working for Mac products, which they eventually did. It's a nice place to watch the sunset.
Review 26:A wonderfull hotel and a great team and food
Review 27:Cleanliness in the gardens of the private pool villas was not at it's best! Allot of cigaret buds as well as plastic and paper pieces.
Review 28:The food at lunch was terrible, breakfast OK .
Review 29:It was very pleasant and very quiet
Review 30:Staff were very friendly and very helpful Lovely quiet spot
