Review 1:bathroom layout, cleanliness and furnitures. A/C, which is very needed in Barbados, is too noisy.
Review 2:position of hotel is just few steps away from everything there is in this little area. It is family business and the couple that own this facility is so nice and welcoming.
Review 3:Lack of security. Entrance always open which means that any one can enter the facilities at any time. Guest should have a key to access the main entrance and to ensure that unwanted or uninvited guest does not have access.

Review 11:The photos do not reflect reality: no pool or jacusy, no bar (probably closed years ago), walls are not very clean, rooms are not cleaned every day (in my 3 days there, they never came to make the beds or change towels). Bed is not comfy. Also, I booked a king size bed but got a queen only. Bathroom is old and rusty.

Review 25:The Tv was stuck on Disney for the entire stay and the bathroom door refused to stay closed, so all through the night there was bamming of the bathroom door and there was no jacuzzi as advertised, it had been covered completely in concrete.

Review 31:In my humble opinion , I believe that the Melbourne Inn need to upgrade their rooms to a more modernize standard in order to be more competitive within their market. This would mean that the cost of the rooms can be increase and they can attract a lot more visitors that would get value for money and more money in Melbourne Inn pocket. Similarly, the owners need to operate more on a professional level as it relates to their appearance since first impressions always stand out. The owners should consider ensuring that someone is at front desk to attend to the guest. I was impress with the owners hospitality who made every attempt to make me feel comfortable. May I suggest that the owners visit the various hotel website or visit in person to have an insight into the what makes their competitors different from them. Finally, I have no doubt that if serious consideration is given into the future of Melbourne Inn that it will be in existence for a very long time. I look forward to visiting once again and to stay at a upgraded Melbourne Inn.
Review 32:The location is excellent due to its close proximity to various clubs, restaurants, convince stores and beaches which are all in walking distance from each other. The area appears very safe and secure and most of the people who lives or visit the area are friendly and makes you feel at home. The place is often lively with the sounds of music and laughter of visitors and locals enjoying themselves. You are more than likely to visit again for its unique flavor of music and food.
Review 33:Staff needs to take control when noisy guests move in. Do your research about activities before you go because at least one staff person had no idea about tourist activities. However, there are lots of updated brochures in the rack so if you are a seasoned traveller you can manage for yourself.

Review 70:As you get out of the hotel, a bunch of guys will start following you trying to sell you drugs and girls. Pretty annoying, although nothing dangerous happened. People are not so aggressive in other parts of the south coast.
Review 71:Great choice, if you just want a place to sleep comfortably and being out on the beach all day long. The room is pretty big, clean, has AC, the lady that manages the building is willing to help you with anything. Most of the very nice beaches of the south coast are just a walk away. 15 minutes walking distance to the main nightlife area.
Review 72:Lack of security. The door to the main reception area is open throughout the night. This means that anyone can get to the guest rooms. This main entrance should be locked and only guests to the hotel should have a key to access the locked entrance.

Review 74:I have warned them that I'll be arriving late from the airport. When I arrived, there is nobody in reception. I ring the bell following their instructions, and waited, and waited. Nobody appeared. Eventually I left to look for another accomodation at 1.00 am. In spite of this, they said that I did not show, and they charged my VISA for the night!!! I am now in the process of reclaiming my money. If I am able to get it back I will update this review accordingly.
Review 75:The photos of Inn show as a swimming pool. Not so, only a very small tub style pool Also address on line was given as "Bridgetown" which led to some confusion for us, on arrival.

There are reliable local taxis for venturing further afield or it is a short walk to the main road for the unique Bajan bus services. The hotel is old, but comfortable and very clean and is being slowly updated; the owners and staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Will definitely recommend the Melbourne Inn.

Review 95:The facilities were okay, I can't complain at all because i got value for money. When We got there they were busy doing renovations etc, but that wasn't a bother whatsoever. I like the room, the air conditioning worked fine and it was very clean. Everything was in working order and I felt that the money I spent was well worth it. The bus stop was accessible, there were taxi available 24 7. There was also a small supermarket right around the corner and a few restaurants in the area as well. The beach was like 10 steps away..I would return here at any time..

I have reportedthis to both the Inn and booking.com but as yet, has not been amended.The hot tub is out of use and is covered over with plastic.
