Reviews for The Cornell Inn

Review 1:Very warm welcome from Tim including carrying the bags and showing us around. Lovely rooms and surroundings. Excellent breakfast. Very highly recommended.

Review 2:I was disappointed that I could not drink the William Hill cabernet I brought with me because of liquor license restrictions. I imagine this would be a problem for many trying to limit spending.

Review 3:Nice grounds, lots of outside seating. Room was nice, bed comfortable. Good breakfast. Accessible to both high-end and affordable restaurants, retail. Nice that there was a small bar in the main house, but see next box:

Review 4:nice quiet inn with a good breakfast spread and friendly hosts; downtown Lenox is not far away (could walk, although return is up a hill) with some good restaurants; close to Tanglewood; wifi worked well for us; coffee/tea/cookies available at night; room was comfy and cozy with a little refrigerator and sink

Review 5:The property is a little run down as most Inns of that age can be. A wet mop and a vaccum can go a long way. Curtains need a good ironing. Time for new mattresses.

Review 6:The feeling of a b & b but the privacy of a hotel. Enjoyed the fireplace in the room. Breakfast buffet was very good.

Review 7:That we didn't get to use the fireplace because we were to busy and that we only got to spend one night.

Review 8:The location was perfect for us. My husband and I come to the berkshires at least twice year for a quick get away and this is the first time staying at the Inn. We will definetly be returning. Our room was very cozy and breakfast was delicious!

Review 9:Drawer and stairs to climb the high bed only on one side. Loud humming noise through the night. Maybe the refrigerator.

Review 10:Breakfast is second to none. Amazing selection! And very fresh and tasty. Old style house and collections throughout. The for kings.

Review 11:Awesome stay...convenient location, friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was to die for, and the bed the most comfortable I've ever slept on. A perfect experience !

Review 12:heater was loud when it went on and off during the night

Review 13:Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us out with our things in the morning. Breakfast was amazing. Cookies and hot cider was a nice welcome back in the evening.

Review 14:Something that the Inn can do nothing about, the local street signage is pretty but just about impossible to see after dark, we had to ask directions only to discover that we were on Main Street!!

Review 15:Everything about the Inn fully met our expectations - it was comfortable, clean and the staff attentive but not overwhelming. Our room was charmingly furnished and the bathroom well equipped. The bed was a little high for me so I was glad of the bed steps! We will stay here again next time we are in the area.

Review 16:Cornell Inn was delightful. From the decor to the surroundings. Since of history is the decor as well as naming the rooms for presidents wives. Breakfast room was light and friendly and the food was varied and delicious both days we were there. The rooms are charming and comfortable. There was attention to detail and cleanliness right down to sweet smelling soap and mouth wash. An easy-light log was ready in the fireplace.

Review 17:Nothing to dislike at all.

Review 18:The look of the whole place was fantastic, just what we wanted! The room was lovely even an open fire. So comfortable and really nice staff. It was great to stay in an old inn that was so obviously loved.

Review 19:I have allergies, so a little less dust and an open window in a room where previous occupants have used the fireplace please. Otherwise, a warm and comfortable place to spend the night. Heartily recommended.

Review 20:Tim, the Innkeeper, provided a breakfast area room for my business meeting gratis. We received a warm welcome from his lovely wife, who recommended HAVEN, a great place in Lennox for lunch. The evening desk clerk went out of his way to recommend several casual craft beer establishments outside of Lennox. And in the morning, Lance put out a breakfast spread...the finest breakfast that I have enjoyed on my travels throughout the world. Lance's Mexicali Frittata, Apple Pancakes with real Maple Syrup, Peach French Toast, and pastries were mind boggling good. The Cornell was quiet, beautiful grounds, and a nice retreat in every sense of the word. Kudos to the people who go out of their way to make the stay special. You can tell that the effort comes naturally to them...all good people.

Review 21:There were some hairs on the sheets. It was probably the person folding the sheets. We brought this to their attention and expect it will be addressed.

Review 22:Tim, the manager on while we were there could not have been more accommodating. Best service I have had in a very long time.

Review 23:Just wished I had booked it for more than a one night stay.

Review 24:Liked the atmosphere, staff very accommodating and the wonderful homemade breakfast provided

Review 25:LOW CEILING AND WINDOWS DUE TO ATTIC ROOM. TOO DARK, CLAUSTROPHOBIA, INSUFFICIENT LIGHT...

Review 26:MULTIPLE ROOMS IN OUR UNIT, TWO BATHS, FIREPLACE, OVERALL DECORATIONS, TWO TV'S, EXTRA BEDDING

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:Welcoming staff - even though they had a big party to cope with they made time for us Excellent breakfast. Made up of 3 C18th buildings in an attractive environment.

Review 29:Room was rather dark; needed lights on even during the day (this probably just reflects the age of the building and the time when it was built). WiFi a bit erratic.

Review 30:Very friendly and sociable, which was nice as I was on my own. Convenient location with pleasant grounds and an easy walk into Lenox itself.

Review 31:The only "downside", and it isn't much of one, is the location. Set close to the road, it can be a bit noisy at times. With the air conditioner on at night, we didn't notice the noise as much, so we got a great night of sleep.

Review 32:Rooms were excellent size, and bath/showers all excellent. Grounds were gorgeous. Short walk down the hill to the center of town. Biggest surprise was the quality of the breakfast and willingness to accommodate special needs. Breakfast was so much better than the expensive hotel stuff - real home made food!

Review 33:Superb breakfast, very friendly

Review 34:Cozy rooms, beautiful grounds with waterfall and pond. Decent breakfast. Fire place in the room. 2 min drive from center of Lennox.

Review 35:Wasn't very clean. Hair all over sheets .cobwebs in room Needs dusting

Review 36:The staff was very friendly!!

Review 37:The host was so gracious. We arrived after hours to cookies and muffins. breakfast was FABULOUS!!!

Review 38:very very nice staff/management-owners-? awesome apple crisp and apple cider pancakes and rest of breakfast spread.

Review 39:Tim was great! Made us feel welcome and had the right amount interaction with us.

Review 40:Excellent facilities in a nice location. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Review 41:Beautiful place, extraordinary excellent breakfast and extremely helpfull and friendly staff! We would very much like to return!

Review 42:Gay friendly, warm and welcoming. The room was clean, cozy and cute. Staff are very nice we had good time

Review 43:Very kind and helpful staff. Lovely room and facilities. Fantastic breakfast.

Review 44:Excellent location, superb breakfasts and friendly staff.

Review 45:We liked the uniqueness of the Inn. The staff was great and the breakfast was wonderful!

Review 46:nothing really

Review 47:Very nice staaf and welcoming reception. Good location

Review 48:Fireplace in our room

Review 49:Excellent breakfast Tranquil outdoor surroundings Lovely waterfall

Review 50:Our room was a bit small and not sufficiently well lighted to read the books we brought with us on vacation.

Review 51:The staff was really very good, especially the owner of the Inn, who spend lots of time with his guests. Very nice outdoor dining area by a small pond. Nice breakfast.

Review 52:Sound insulation could be better- you could hear the comings and goings of your neighbors. The beds were very firm and squeaky.

Review 53:Breakfast was great. There are nice hiking trails just behind the Inn. It is an easy walk down the hill into Lenox. The staff was very responsive to our questions and needs. I thought it was very reasonably priced given the proximity to town.

Review 54:Location, the staff, the breakfast, the room was so comfortable, felt just like home, would definitely stay again. This place has a great charm to it and the people who run it only add to that

Review 55:The staff were very laid back, personable and helpful. The outside patio with the river flowing by had a lovely ambiance and our omlette was amazing. All in all our stay was delightful and relaxing. Oh and both of us had very comfortable beds and got a great nights' rest. What else could one ask for?

Review 56:Everything . The people were very nice and helpful when we checked in . Close to town . Weather wasn't great but that's not your fault so we couldnt sit outside. But Frankies is right down the street , our favorite restaurant . Hope to see u again soon . Thankyou

Review 57:Lobby restroom, by dining-room, could perhaps do with an update. The only thing that would have made it more perfect for me would have been home-baked bread.

Review 58:The staff were exceptional in their friendliness and can-do attitude. Very welcoming and obliging. As a result, there was a happy vibe throughout. Room (king bed and spa bath), in a separate house from the main building, was comfortable and had a cozy sitting room for shared use beside it. Breakfast selections were delicious, everything freshly prepared, including a variety of baked goods.

Review 59:Very cozy and comfortable. The owners are very caring and accommodating. The room is cozy with a fire place, private bath, flat screen TV, and a little fridge. The grounds are lovely with waterfall. Although some of the decor is dated, it has this warmth that is like coming home to grandma's house. Very convenient to Kripalu! Loved it and would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks Tim & family!

Review 60:The king bed. I believe it was 2 full beds together. Uncomfortable in the middle. The room was too small for a king bed.

Review 61:The owner is very friendly and accomodating. He made us feel like we were staying in his own home. The breakfast was delicious. The chef came out to talk with the guests. Very friendly.

Review 62:nothing!

Review 63:people were very accommodating, we had trouble with our heat and it was addressed quickly. Breakfast was excellent, nice to see the restaurant book

Review 64:Warm, cozy atmosphere. Complimentary chocolate chip cookies and coffee/tea at night for guests. Host Tim McCarthy was very welcoming. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 65:1) Simple, fresh breakfast each morning with plenty of choices. 2) Part of the dining room is a four seasons sun room so each morning at breakfast the view of the snow, the frozen pond, birds and gorgeous morning sun was fantastic. 3) The inn is just up the hill from downtown Lenox and within a few minutes from wonderful restaurants for dinner. Brava (tapas) was great and really fun. 4) Kennedy Park with amazing snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails borders the inn property. The Arcadian shop, an unbelievable outdoors store and great place to rent skis and snowshoes is just down the street 5) There were always homemade cookies and coffee available throughout the day. 6) The innkeepers were super-personable, gracious and attentive. It seemed like they really enjoyed having us there 7) The fireplace in the room was sensational.

Review 66:The Inn was warm, cozy and welcoming. We arrived a little early where escorted to our room, the Mary Todd. Accommodations were charming for the price we paid and staff were very friendly.

Review 67:Really, nothing. It was all pretty much fabulous.

Review 68:Loved this place. The innkeeper is awesome. Got us last-minute reservations, knows the area very well. Room was awesome - wished we had a spa tub, but all the rooms that had one (with a king bed) were taken. Breakfast was divine. This place saved our weekend.

Review 69:Room was chilly at times. The heat fluctuated more than we would have liked. Would have preferred a steady temperature setting. It was a very cold day outside & our room had 3 entrances so this may have caused the temperature variations.

Review 70:It was very romantic with fireplace and spa tub. Our 2 dogs were warmly welcomed as well.

Review 71:Are you kidding... everything was terrific.

Review 72:The staff is excellent...friendly and efficient.Besides having a marvelous location, the breakfast is fantastic, If it were not so far from Virginia, we would go just for breakfast.

Review 73:Nothing. The best B & B I have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. inclididing two others in Lenox

Review 74:The fabulous staff, from the innkeepers , including the chef and housekeeping made you feels as you were guests in their home. We plan to return many times. Everything was tastefully done. The breakfasts were gourmet. Above the 5 star hotels I have stayed in around the world

Review 75:Everything - very friendly staff, amazing breakfast - all home-made and delicious, and clean rooms. Nice outside terrace with waterfall and koi pond.

Review 76:Cleanliness. Lamps in room were missing or had broken bulbs. Breakfastwas buffet style (not what you would expect with a b & bexperience).

Review 77:Willingness of manager on duty to make a room change to satisfy ourpreference.

Review 78:We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean however could have used some different curtains to darken the room for sleeping. The kitchen staff, ( wish we asked her name) were excellent and went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy. In fact so much so, that we wondered if she was the owner. The food and amount of same was great! We would return!! And the location was just a minute walk from the beautiful Kennedy Walking and biking trails.

Review 79:I know it's hard to keep up the exterior of an older home but it is need of a paint job.

Review 80:We loved the charm of an older home. The waterfall, pond and flowers were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and neat,

Review 81:The pond was so refreshing; combined with the trees there was a sense of cool, comfortable weather, even though the weekend was quite hot. The staff were friendly and quick to make themselves available to guests. The breakfast was great.

Review 82:Beautifully maintained inn, great service, wonderful full breakfast. They made an early one for the runners in a marathon, of which I was one. Booked for same date/ race next year, have never done this but liked that much!!

Review 83:Loved the location. The grounds with waterfall were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The owner was extremely gracious. The room was extremely clean. Would definitely stay again.

Review 84:All of the staff were very courteous and friendly. We felt very welcome there. The breakfasts were truly excellent with a good variety of selections. Our room was clean and most comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 85:It was a very cold weekend and it was hard to keep the room warm as the heaters were those under-the-window types and did not have a thermostat to shut off/come on on its own

Review 86:Great staff, breakfast, location, etc.

Review 87:Certain items in the room needed fixing. This should not affectanyone's decision to going to this bed and breakfast. It was atotally enjoyable experience.

Review 88:Lance was a very knowledgable, gracious, hardworking managing host. TheBreakfast was excellent. Almond, Peach, Cream Cheese French Toast doneto perfection, Blueberry, Apple, Pumpkin Pancakes both with real MapleSyrup.
