Reviews for Best Western Bard's Inn
Review 1:their nothing I don't like!
Review 2:My family and I go to Ashland often and we manage to always stay at Bards because of the great service that we get and the location is perfect.
Review 3:Passed out when arrived, so got up at 3 to take a shower. No hot water. Had to call down. However, super nice and quickly found out the issue (energy saving switch). Front desk called back within 10 minutes and I had hot water.
Review 4:Extremely comfortable and great staff
Review 5:Breakfast could of had more personality.. Food was good, it was just not homey like your office and your rooms..
Review 6:Rene, the night check in person, she was very helpful to our needs.. We booked on bookings.com and that got us a 2 queen bedroom but myself and my mother have medical conditions so needed elevator. Rene was so awesome and upgraded the room at same price by signing me up for a rewards card., so we could have a room with elevator access... She was awesome and helpful on where to eat... 10 out of 10 score in my book.. Next time I go that way we will stay there again????
Review 7:Made my reservation over a month in advance and when I arrived the motel had no record of it . I showed them my email confirmation , luckily they had some rooms. Very apprehensive about going there again or using booking.com.
Review 8:Room and staff
Review 9:Traffic noise was distracting but only at times. Nobody's fault. Just the nature of the location.
Review 10:Staff, from front desk to breakfast crew was very courteous, smiling and efficient.
Review 11:Room could use some updating, and perhaps a bit less furniture for the size of the room, so it was cramped with not much room for our luggage and things. Breakfast, although very good, could use more low-fat or nonfat options. Keurig machine was under the bathroom sink which is not a good place for it. Didn't find it until we were checking out. Would have liked some real mugs for coffee instead of paper variety.
Review 12:The location is very close to the best parts of town. Beds were comfy and huge, with amusing pillow shapes. Breakfast was very good with most options I'd want to eat.large, spacious breakfast room with plenty of tables.
Review 13:Two mirrors in the room would make getting ready in the morning more efficient.
Review 14:Great location. We always stay there when attending the plays. Good breakfast.
Review 15:Rooms (across the street from the lobby) were quiet, modern, and appealing. The breakfast bar staff was wonderful. Food choices were plentiful and varied enough to satisfy each family member (even the one who likes almond milk!) and the friendly workers kept the eating area spotless and well-stocked.
Review 16:Not exactly a bad experience but a somewhat unsatisfactory one in a few respects. I asked for a glass ( not a paper cup, which is all that was in the room). I also asked for a multiple outlet or extension cord as there was only one outlet by the bed. The night staff looked and said none of either! Those are two very basic items. Breakfast eggs were good but there was little fresh fruit and I don't remember any whole grain bread, sausage or bacon. No regional or national newspapers for purchase.
Review 17:Overall very nice staff, quiet room and comfortable bed.
Review 18:Shared a room with very comfortable Queen beds. Glad to have a bathtub/shower. Nice TV and very decent accommodations for wardrobe. Easy two block walk to the festival. Great free breakfast and coffee. Very quiet, second floor room.
Review 19:Our particular room needed updating. Other rooms appeared to be in that process. Off season pricing seemed a little steep, too.
Review 20:We appreciated the wonderful location of the motel. The friendly and responsive staff and the good breakfast made it a place we would like to return to.
Review 21:Needs a sitting table, one where you can eat or put your computer. The table that was in there is very impractical..in a corner and way too high...too many chairs in the room. They said 'upgrade' but I don't know what the upgrade meant. Small amount of room in garage area...can only accommodate a small car.
Review 22:Nice room. The main hotel across the street was inaccessible due to remodeling. Bed was comfortable, all amenities available. Breakfast was nice to have. Quiet, comfortable
Review 23:We were told that we were getting an upgraded room. NOT! The room was very small, the thermostat was right below the heater blower, so one side of the room was ok, but the other was cold. The WiFi dropped continuously due to a single access point for the building. The toilet plugged up for no reason.
Review 24:The breakfast and location was about all that we enjoyed.
Review 25:Very close to downtown was awesome when you can't find a parking space. We stayed on valentines day there was no parking so they blocked us off our own spot right by the pool very nice and we were comfortable and had a great night in the hot tub and the jacuzzi tub and breakfast was great!
Review 26:Not one thing, other than I didn't have a second night available and reserved at the Best Western Bard's Inn!
Review 27:The staff who greeted me were fabulous and very professional. The two women helped me find a great spot for dinner, and they answered all of my questions re the hotel, eating spots, and Ashland in general. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. I couldn't have asked for more (and I travel lots)!
Review 28:The rooms are small, compared to other Best Western properties. The room above us (225) had the TV on and were talking loudly after midnight, which kept us awake.
Review 29:The location and comfort of the bed were welcome after a six-hour drive.
Review 30:The shower, the temperature control of the water was opposite of what it said. Once we figured that out, no worries.
Review 31:Great location, very clean, staff was wonderful and helpful! Highly recommend!
Review 32:No complaints!
Review 33:Comfortable room, fridge in room, parking included, just a block away from the Shakespeare theater center, many great restaurants, and a hearty breakfast bar including eggs, pastries, cereals, fruits, etc. included in the room rate. Perfect for theater weekend!
Review 34:I have trouble with stairs and our upstairs room was a 20 step climb on 2 stairways. I will request downstairs next time.
Review 35:Just a block or two from the major attractions in Ashland, we walked to the Main Street shopping area, the Shakespeare plays, restaurants, and the movie theatre. Our room included a coffee pot, hair dryer, and nice toiletries. I would stay here again, but would request a first floor room. The staff was extremely helpful at check-in and check-out.
Review 36:Breakfast was not very bright, most mornings went to local restaurants and paid for a better quality of food.
Review 37:Ideal location, minutes walk to shops and theaters. Clean, comfortable rooms.
Review 38:We didn't get our requested wake up call, but that wasn't too crucial for us that day as we had no important appointments, meetings, etc.
Review 39:Staff at front desk so welcoming and helpful. We enjoy the included breakfast.......get up early, grab breakfast, and you can get going for the day! Room very clean and comfortable.
Review 40:The carpets had been cleaned the day we arrived, but were still soaked. As we had shoes on, we didn't notice right away, and left suitcases and such on the floor, all of which soaked through. Not good. However, the office staff was very apologetic and gave us a discounted rate on our stay (-$40), so overall, good but not great.
Review 41:I've stayed at the Bard's several times - it is a great location close to the theaters in Ashland. Nice rooms and a good breakfast.
Review 42:Our room in the older section of hotel was a bit small.
Review 43:Very convenient location within walking distance of town and theater. Excellent breakfast. Well finished, renovated room with high quality bed and linens.
Review 44:Convince. Staff was wonderful
Review 45:Everything was perfection!
Review 46:The front desk guy was not very pleasant.
Review 47:Overall great experience.
Review 48:Noising in morning
Review 49:Front desk and staff very nice and accommodating; Room and bed/pillows comfortable; relaxing stay

Review 56:The staff, the linens, the breakfast.
Review 57:a little noisy
Review 58:excellent location
Review 59:a bit worn facilities
Review 60:great location
Review 61:Stayed in old "motel" section. Getting pretty long in tooth but clean and quiet.
Review 62:Location
Review 63:We didn't care for the size of the room. Very tight for two people to walk around the bed.
Review 64:Food and room was nice. Once it opened.
Review 65:That I couldn't stay longer.
Review 66:Everything was as advertised. Very close to great places to eat.
Review 67:I think the breakfast could have been better.
Review 68:Great location, comfy bed with lots of over sized pillows pillows.
Review 69:Water took forever to heat up.
Review 70:Location was prime - walk to downtown, comfortable bed and good breakfast.
Review 71:Holy cow, the breakfast was great, from the food to the quality of the restaurant-like atmosphere.
Review 72:Location to Festival Breakfast room
Review 73:Nothing!!
Review 74:We have stayed here a few times, and are never disappointed. It is always a wonderful experience, and this time was no different.
Review 75:Two easy chairs in the room is a nice convenience .
