Reviews for 9th Ave Hostel

Review 1:As normal in hostels, interaction with other guests can make your stay better. I met 4 other guests also hoping to see the northern lights and we froze our feet on a hill but saw them.

Review 2:What a cute little place to stay! Cho was so welcoming and was very informative. Not a far walk from downtown Fairbanks at all. Would definitely recommend for personality, value and location.

Review 3:The bathrooms and kitchen could use a good clean and perhaps and update. Would have benefited greatly by putting out a brekkie. But these downfalls were definately masked by the amazing time, friendly people and lovely host!

Review 4:Cho was a fantastic host. He was full of suggestions and ideas and even offered to take us out to see the Aurora when we had had a week of terrible weather! The bed were comfy and the blankets were so nice and warm (it was freezing outside). Everything is in walking distance and you can cook for yourself in the kitchen whenever you like. His home was your home. Would definately stay again!!

Review 5:Wow Cho is really cool He is always hepful giving us advices I had a lot of fun there This place is good for single travelers All the roommates were really cool and interesting

Review 6:This is a female and a male friend traveling. We thought it was going to be separate rooms for men and women. We both ended up in the same room. In the morning I realized there were 3 men and myself (woman) in this same room. Note you will be sharing the room with who knows who... I couldn't sleep, with my own friend snoring like a bear... another guy couldn't sleep, either, for the same reason (I heard him suffer underneath my bed). Maybe I had this kind of negative experience because I never spent a night at a hostel... I guess I should have known the implications of 4 people sharing one room. Definitely courteous guests though.

Review 7:Very friendly and courteous person greeting you. Definitely cheap for Alaska. We were just in transit in Fairbanks and saw nothing of the city. But Alaska is beautiful throughout.

Review 8:I used shared bedroom, and that was so worthy for $66 per night. Actually, you can stay $55 per night if you stay more than 9 nights. Booking.com doesn't tell you about this, so notice this discount information. There're not many diversity of Breakfast, but still quality is good and enough amount. Also, staffs are so kind and sweet. They will do their best to help you.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:The host, Cho, was extremely helpful in every respect. The travelers at the hostel were worldly, respectful, and full of interesting and diverse stories. The location of the property is within walking distance of downtown with excellent restaurants and bars available. It was truly a great value for the money.

Review 11:The smell in the room.

Review 12:internet connectivity really fast. Met new people from around the world. First day we got there you could see the auroras from the hostel. Amazing.

Review 13:Sometimes hot water was scarce. Really everything else was adequate or better and a true bargain for the price. I would go back without hesitation!

Review 14:The economical rate, utilitarian but comfortable bed, reasonable bath, kitchen privileges, convenient location, peaceful oasis back yard and congenial host. Most travelers staying there were courteous and considerate. Not suitable for a family but a single traveler or younger couple would do fine there.

Review 15:I can't think of anything.

Review 16:My first time ever staying at a hostel and I was just as happy as staying in a hotel. The beds were bunk beds and very comfortable. Easy access to bathroom and shower. Parking was plentiful and hassle free. Everyone friendly and I appreciated that they made everyone take their shoes off so the floors were neat. And there was Coffee!!!!!!!!!!

Review 17:Everything

Review 18:The place was very dirty, the owner came out of his room maybe twice, one he just jammed the trash down in the can that was over flowing. The was at least two day old Mac and chesse on the stove. No hot water. Stay some where else if you can.

Review 41:The no alcohol policy was a bit overkill. It advertises as "Bed and Breakfast" on its sign. Certainly no breakfast was proffered.

Review 42:Inexpensive compared to Fairbanks lodging in general. Fairly convenient to buses and business such as food. Good facilities to cook, wash clothes, refrigerator and freezer space available and convenient.
