Reviews for Eastover Estate and Retreat

Review 1:There is not one single picture anywhere on any site of the Eastover showing the outside of the "cabin-like" rooms in which you stay that are located behind the "mansion" or main building. I was quite shocked upon arrival to see that we had to stay in what felt like "the maid's quarters" from back in the day. What you expect and what you get are contradictory to itself. Booking.com has the Eastover listed as 5 star, but in reality, rooms other than in the main building/home were 2 star at best and should not be compared to the true 5 star places in the area.

Review 2:The fresh raspberries you could pick were a nice touch and there was a beautiful view. The yoga class was a terrific way to start your day. Enjoyed the teacher a great deal.

Review 3:Room left a bit to be desired. Bed was so-so at best. Room lacked anywhere to sit. Had to go out on the deck to read. Rooms were anything but quiet.

Review 4:Grounds were beautiful.

Review 5:There is a chef on the property that cooks with locally grown/sourced foods. I wish that it wasn't buffet style--- I shy away from buffets. The food did look and smell yummy though. The wine selection was very bad. They should bring in some wines from boutique vineyards. I'm a big FB poster, and the FB page for the property is horrible and shows horrid pictures of bad parties and eventts-- it makes the place look tacky.

Review 6:I had a charming experience walking the property, hiking the trails, and meeting other guests. The property itself is gorgeous and has amazing energy. It is definitely a place to unwind and read a book. I wish I could've stayed longer. I will be planning a writer's retreat there soon.

Review 7:I loved the spacious and beautiful grounds of the property that were mine to roam freely. I enjoyed the combination of rusticity and elegant luxury of the property.

Review 8:I wasn't aware of the wonderful workshops they offer, so I was pleasantly surprised

Review 9:Lack of daily service

Review 10:Location .

Review 11:The bed rolled forward when you would try to sit in bed and read with your back leaned against the wall.

Review 12:It was peaceful and relaxing

Review 13:No one there except for us. No telephone in room. Room service once every 4 days.

Review 14:Beautiful property but needs much to be donr

Review 15:Could do without the twin bed and would have preferred a kingsize bed over the two doubles, as the website promised. Room lacked color. It was rustic, but not pretty.

Review 16:Everything worked. The bathroom is not attractive, but it is functional. A/C worked very well. Beds were very comfortable.

Review 17:This is a site that is under construction and not at all finished. The rooms are small and rustic--knotty pine, no phones, no TV. The main building has no facilities. This is not worth the price per night.

Review 18:The very young staff is trying very hard to please on a shoestring budget with no resources. Beautiful spot and building with lots of unrealized potential.

Review 19:Breakfast could be a bit more lavish. Should make tea available in the evening; that said, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating when asked to supply. Note: Eastover is newly opened and is being improved every day. We are very happy to have discovered it early.

Review 20:Beautiful grounds, great pool, comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff. Location convenient to area attractions, without being right in town.
